By Michael Gagne Record-Journal staff
Longtime Board of Education member Tony Perugini, a Republican, is the board's new chairman, following a unanimous vote during the group's first official meeting with newly sworn-in board members since the Nov. 5 election. The board, which gathered Thursday night, Dec. 5, in Town Council chambers, also selected fellow Republican board member Adam Grippo as its new vice chairman. Grippo told board members he considers serving as vice chairman to be “very important.”
Forget the foil, flocking and polyvinyl chloride of an artificial tree. Plenty of folks say Christmas just isn't Christmas without a "real" Christmas tree. The only concern is whether to cut your own or buy pre-cut. Luckily, Cheshire has both options. See Tree, A4
“You have my word, I will do this role to my best ability,” said Perugini, who is entering his 11th year as a member of the board.
“I hope to serve this position with distinction and honor,” he said. John Ksiazek selects a big 12-footer at Cheshire Hollow Farm where you can cut your own tree. Joy VanderLek, The Cheshire Citizen
