Steely Dan act to hit the stage

North Haven's free concert series, Music Under the Stars, continues next week with the Steely Dan tribute band Beau Bolero taking the stage on the town green. With its distincitive jazzrock style, Steely Dan reached great heights in the 70s, churning out such classics as Reelin’ in the Years, Hey Nineteen and Deacon Blues.

Formed in 1980, Beau Bolero is regarded by many as the top Steely Dan act out there.

This week, the North Haven Rotary Club presented a check to Fred Samoskevich of Camp Rising Sun, which provides a safe environment for youngsters diagnosed with cancer to experience camp, at no cost.

“Camp Rising Sun welcomes any child aged 5-17 who has faced a diagnosis of cancer to a week of fun and friendship,” the camp states on its website. “Campers can be in treatment, in remission, or anywhere in between. Camp is held in the beautiful hills of Colebrook, Connecticut at the facilities of Camp Jewell, a YMCA campground. Campers stay in heated cabins with other children in their age group along with a dedicated staff. Thanks to our generous supporters there is no cost to attend camp.”
