It’s about a community that stepped forward, businesses that sponsored, students who wrap gifts or are (volunteering) for community service, and volunteers who give of them-

selves and their time to make this event happen,” DeChello explained. “The majority of us have been here from the beginning. After five years, we really are an elf family. North Haven is a wonderful, giving, magical town that I love dearly.” Emily Brady, the Chief Development Officer of the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut and Western MA, has also dealt with the Elf House, and has nothing but praise for the work being done. “Through the generosity of programs like The Magical Elf House, donors can help us support families and their children during stressful and frightening times. Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut & Western Massachusetts gives families the gift of togetherness,” she

Garden club sells homemade wreaths, baskets, ornaments at Faith United Methodist Church Fair On Saturday, Nov. 18, several members of the North Haven Garden Club set up at the Faith United Methodist Church Fair and sold their homemade wreaths, baskets and ornaments. It was so nice to meet and great residents of North Haven at the fair. Members helping with set up were Cindy Golia, Gerri Giordano, Cheryl Apuzzo, Italia Avitable, and Lee Fermo. Garden club presents annual Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl Poster Contest The 2024 Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl poster contest is dedicated to Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday. Smokey Bear is recognized both nationally and internationally as the symbol for wildfire prevention, with his motto being "Only You Can Prevent Wildfires"! Since 1944, Smokey Bear has taught people how to help prevent wildfires and how to be careful with campfires, barbecues, matches, and more.

In 1977, Woodsy Owl teamed up with Smokey Bear to help encourage personal responsibility in caring for our environment. Woodsy Owl's motto is “Lend a Hand, Care for the Land”!
