Bakaysa throws 2 TDs, Blue Devils prevail WALLINGFORD — The Plainville High School football team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 21-12 victory over Lyman Hall (02) Friday night at Fitzgerald Field. Vincent McGraw, Cameron Lamothe and Joseph Vasques all had touchdowns for the Blue Devils and quarterback Michael Bakaysa threw a pair of touchdowns. Plainville struck first in this Connecticut Alliance matchup. Bakaysa connected with wide receiver Justin Emery on a 32-yard pass to set up Plainville inside the LH 15yard line.

er, McGraw punched it in for a 7-0 lead after an extra point from Gabriel Hernandez. A few drives later, the Blue Devils got in scoring position after a 25-yard run by McGraw that put them inside the 15-yard line. On first-and-goal from the 2, Bakaysa connected with his tight end Lamothe for a score off a counter. The Blue Devils were up 14-0 with 2:40 left in the half. The second half began with good defense, as both teams struggled to do anything offensively. The Trojans, however, got some good fortune when they recovered a muffed punt and took over from Plainville’s 40-yard line. See Football, A3
