Fun Day activities included face painting, spin art, pony rides, thumbprint drawings and a dunk tank, where it has become a tradition for first-year lifeguards to take the plunge. By the end of the day’s activities, which ran from 1 to 3:30 p.m., McCabe said children left with their arms full of artwork they’ve created.

Summer camp was over and school just a few weeks away, but children had another day of excitement with the 14th annual Fun Day on Friday, Aug. 9.

Camp coordinator Kelly McCabe estimated that as many as 1,000 people may have visited Norton Park throughout the day, however, it’s hard to tell since entry and the activities were free.
