CHESHIRE — The window for spring sports is still open. It has, however, grown narrower. With Gov. Ned Lamont announcing last week that Connecticut schools will remain closed through May 20 due to the coronavirus, the CIAC will reconvene on Thursday, April 23 to assess the status of the 2020 spring high school sports season. ”The announcement to extend school closings through May 20th provides a timeline for the CIAC to consider regarding spring sport opportunities,” the CIAC said in a statement released Thursday, April 16. “CIAC administrative staff will have more detailed conversations with superintendents, principals, athletic directors, member leagues, medical professionals, and coaches over the next week and half.
