Hearing set on former Lincoln College property Conceptual plans for housing at the former Lincoln College on Mount Vernon Road, Southington.

Town leaders are looking for residents’ opinions on a zone change that would allow for an age-restricted housing development at the former Lincoln College property.

College campus owners said they haven’t been able to attract another school or a buyer interested in using the dorm and classroom buildings. They’ve been talking with local developer Mark Lovley about high-end ranch-style homes on the 32-acre site.

While the area is already zoned residential, Lovley’s plan for age-restricted cluster housing would require Planning and Zoning Approval. The requested change would allow for a denser housing development than currently permitted. See Lincoln, A2

COVID-19 may have slowed local home sales last spring, but real estate agents are reporting pent up buyer demand sparking bidding wars that are well over asking prices. “Prices have absolutely in-
