This year, Pi Day in Middlefield just got a little bit sweeter. Dubbed Pi Day after the eponymous mathematical symbol whose first three digits are 3.14, Lyman Orchards is celebrating this Saturday by opening the Apple Barrel and serving up sweet, delicious pie specials and samples. “What’s not to love about Pi Day? We get to bring awareness to the mathematical constant of 3.14195 by serving our award-winning, handmade fruit pies. Everyone loves pie, and it’s a fun – and delicious –way to celebrate Pi Day with pie,” said John Lyman, executive vice president. But the celebration doesn’t end with pie. In fact, community organizations are joining Lyman Orchards throughout the weekend in order to partake in the festivities.
