9 PURPOSE Project Title:
Defending Democratic Institutions and Norms in Latin America
To enable the Grantee to carry out the project objectives shown in Attachment A, Program Description, which are consistent with the purposes stated in section 502(b) of the NED Act. The Grantee is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the program to carry out the project objectives in accordance with the terms of this agreement and all attachments and appendices. 10 AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES This grant is awarded in accordance with the authority contained in Public Law 98-164 (the NED Act) as amended and Grant Number S-LMAQM-16-GR-1012 (CFDA 19.345) between the United States Department of State and the National Endowment for Democracy. Any amendments to this agreement must be requested in writing prior to the end date indicated in Box 5 and must be signed by authorized representatives of NED. 11 SIGNATURES By signing this agreement, the Grantee assures that it will comply with all terms and conditions of this grant. Failure to comply with the terms set forth in this agreement may result in the withholding of payments, grant suspension, grant termination, or legal recourse.
