ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Level 2 Diploma in Performance and Production or four GCSEs Grade 9-4/A*-C including Maths and/or English or a merit in a relevant Level 2.
WHAT WILL I DO?
If you prefer to behind the camera instead of in front of it, a career in the film industry could be ideal for you. Whether you’re interested in short films, documentaries, music videos or full length features, our film production course will give you the skills you need to bring your ideas to life. We have excellent links with industry, local businesses and you’ll work within out student production company, UFilms.
You will gain a range of on-set experience including directing, camera techniques, film and video editing, screenwriting for film & television and production management. The course can lead to a range of careers including cinematography, directing, producing, screen writing, editing and many more on set roles. You will earn using industry standard cameras, sound equipment and post production software while carrying out a rage of production and assignment which are planned to be based on realistic workplace demands. This course can be worth the equivalent of 3 A* at A level.
HOW AM I ASSESSED?
You will be assessed through portfolios, creative work and video evidence.
WHAT’S NEXT?
You might apply for the FdA Acting Programme at SRC if you feel Acting is a strength or you could go on to university to study degrees in areas such as Film & Television Production, Broadcast or Multimedia Journalism & Film or Media studies. Or you could progress to a production role within the industry.
