The kit includes two different types of silicone, a soft and a medium hardness, together with a liquid catalyst. A DVD is also available containing a training video demonstrating in clear easy steps how to work with the material and how to produce silicone orthotics.

The starter kit is for professionals who want to learn how to use silicones and to try the most popular of the Fresco silicone range.

This kit will provide the user with enough material to practice working with the two types of silicone.

Soft Silicones for Palliative Orthotics SILICONE BLAND-ROSE REF. F-01930-01 Tin of 500 g The BLAND-ROSE poly-condensation silicone continues to be one of the softest silicones on the market. Especially designed for its use in podiatry it is recommended in the making of palliative orthosis. Easy to use, it is soft, elastic and smooth to touch. It hydrates the skin, helping to regenerate it and soften the harder parts. Very comfortable, it eases pain immediately.

It is recommended to moisten the fingers with water if it sticks to them when manipulating.

It hardens with liquid catalyser or in paste. It can be mixed with other poly-condensation silicones from Fresco in order to achieve different levels of hardness. Its high level of elasticity and low stiffness makes it appropriate for work in geriatrics and in diabetic feet. The finished orthosis is both washable and reusable.

Note: As it is manufactured by hand it may feel slightly sticky.

It is advised to wet fingers with water prior to production to provide perfect results. Once the orthotic has been made it will take 24 hours to reach it final level of hardness.

SILICONE BLAND-NATURE REF. F-01933-00 Skin-coloured soft putty silicone. Recommended in the making of palliative orthosis. Easy to use, it is soft, elastic and smooth to touch. It hydrates the skin, helping to regenerate it and soften the harder parts. Very comfortable, it eases pain immediately. It is recommended to moisten the fingers with water if it sticks to them when manipulating. It hardens with liquid catalyser or in paste. It can be mixed with other poly-condensation silicones from Fresco in order to achieve different levels of hardness. SILICONES Medium Silicones for Palliative and Corrective Orthotics SILICONE FRESCO REF. F-01923-00 Tin of 500 g Poly-condensation medium hardness silicone specially designed for its use in Podiatry. It is indicated to make both palliative and corrective orthosis. Easy to use its medical oils hydrate the skin, softening and helping regenerate the hyperkeratotic areas. It hardens with either liquid or paste catalyst. To achieve different hardnesses it can be mixed with other poly-condensation silicones of the Fresco range.

Moisten your fingers with water if the silicone paste adheres to the fingers when handling. The finished orthosis is washable and reusable.

Then mould onto the foot (for more info please go to page 34). The result is a soft and comfortable orthosis. The finished orthosis is both washable and reusable.

HOW TO MAKE A PERFECT ORTHOSIS IN 3 EASY STEPS: Take the same quantity of compounds A and B.

Mix the silicones until they are an even colour.

20-25 SECONDS

Roll the silicones into a compact ball.

5-10 SECONDS The silicone is now ready to mould onto the foot.

Wait for 2-3 minutes.

Note: Once the orthosis is moulded and hardened it will take 24 hours to reach it final level of hardness.

It hardens with either liquid or paste catalyst. To achieve different hardnesses it can be mixed with other poly-condensation silicones of the Fresco range. Moisten your fingers with water if the silicone paste adheres to the fingers when handling. The finished orthosis is washable and reusable.

Liquid silicone semi-rigid with medium elasticity. A Bi-compound elastomer that vulcanises with any of the Fresco catalysts. Can be used to repair silicone orthotics, or as a joining material with other silicones. Designed to cover Tubiton, gauze and latex foam rubber. Of liquid form and a transparent colour of low viscosity. Once vulcanised it becomes a rigid and semi transparent silicone.

Liquid silicone very elastic, flexible and with a high adherence. A Bi-compound elastomer that vulcanise with any of the Fresco catalysts. The 11.504 is normally used to repair silicone orthotics, or as a joining material with other silicones.

It is elastic, flexible and has excellent tensile and a high rupture strength. Of liquid form and white in colour. This product should be mixed with a spatula due to its fluid like nature. Can be mixed with other silicones in the range to provide greater elasticity and softness.

Silicone Sheets SORBOPRESS REF. F-01940 Sorbopress is a Bland-Rosé silicone sheet with adhesive in one side. Can be used as a protector for any part of the foot. 200 ml.Silicone Oil which can be used to obtain a brighter, more consistent and softer to the touch finishing work to any orthosis made with our silicones. It can also be mixed with other paste and liquid silicones to make the mass more fluent.

If you need to make an orthosis with any kind of support (fabric or any other porous material) if the oil is used in the mass this will help the silicone penetrate and stuck much better on the support. It is recommended making a trial before. Silicones not adhere easily to plastic or other nonporous materials.
