Saturday, Dec. 28 • Fox Theatre

tlanta-based Young Jeezy originally planned on having a background role in the music industry as a businessman, not as a rapper. Years before making his first Def Jam album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 (2005), Young Jeezy set up Corporate Thugz Entertainment and promoted Cash Money releases. From there, he branched out as a label boss and artist in his own right; releasing albums and mixtapes. Driven by the hit “Soul Survivor,” Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 eventually landed at the No. 2 spot in the Billboard 200. The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102 followed in late 2006, and by that point, Jeezy had become one of the most prominent MC’s. The album became his first No.1 smash. In 2007, he introduced his U.S.D.A. crew with the album Cold Summer, and then returned to his solo career a year later with the politically-minded The Recession, Young Jeezy’s second set to reach No. 1. In 2010, the single “Lose My Mind” announced the coming of his fourth major-label release, TM 103.

TOMP is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique and appeals to audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews, and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters and hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans. As USA Today says, “STOMP finds beautiful noises in the strangest places.” STOMP. See what all the noise is about. *Subscriber and group discounts available, save up to 20%. MAYBE QUESTIONING THE NORM SHOULD BE THE NEW NORM. Every time a bar gets raised, a record gets broken, or a new star shines, it’s because somebody was curious. Wondering how high they could reach. How much they could do. As a proud supporter of the Fox Theater Series, we applaud that. Questioning everything makes anything possible.
