RUBEN NEIDECK

By shaping the now famous Velvet in Berlin as headbartender from its opening, Ruben Neideck has set a new standard for what it means to truly work seasonally in drink making. The bar is renowned for its weekly changing cocktail menu, driven by locally foraged and farmed ingredients from the area around Berlin. Over his more than 5 year stint there, Ruben has shaped the inner bar infrastructure & rythm required to accomplish the weekly drink change and has come to be regarded as one of the leading experts on foraging and processing of seasonal plants into drink form in Germany. At BCB, Ruben will share what he has learnt from working closely with urban gardeners at the Urban Gardening Area in hall 18.
