Mount Lofty House is one of the most iconic buildings in South Australia, and has a long history of indulgence, opulence and celebration. Mount Lofty House was built in 1852 by one of the city’s original founders, Arthur Hardy, who has been described a little like a South Australian Jay Gatsby. The Estate was his summer residence and quickly established a reputation for fabulous parties for Adelaide’s elite. Today, the tradition continues as one of the state’s favourite places for special celebrations and indulgent retreats.
