Children today are being tested and compared to others of the same age around the country. It only makes sense that an English curriculum be filled with the same texts across the nation if standardized tests are the benchmark for students’ knowledge. According to Source E, “Culturally authentic children’s literature enhances language development and thought processes.” Through simple research, one can find the select few texts that tend to develop and teach students. The benefit would be seen throughout, and all students would have comparable knowledge because of the common texts used.
