We, at The Regent's School, are strong believers that it is our responsibility to nurture our students to learn and develop the life skills they need, not only for their own benefit, but more importantly, for the benefit of others around them, in their family, in their school, at university and then in their careers in the future. The message is simply, 'there is more in you than you think'.
Round Square Member schools believe that the pillars of Dr. Kurt Hahn’s insight are the IDEALS on which our future is built. These are:
1.
Internationalism: An international understanding and tolerance of others, i.e.
2.
Democracy:
3.
Environmental stewardship, i.e.
DO ACCEPT THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PEOPLE ACROSS THE WORLD. Democratic governance and justice, i.e. DO HAVE RESPECT FOR OTHERS’ DIFFERENT OPINIONS.
DO LEAVE THE ENVIRONMENT BETTER FOR THOSE TO ENJOY WHO FOLLOW US
4.
Adventure: Self-discovery through adventure, i.e.
5.
Leadership, i.e.
6.
Service to others, i.e.
DO EXPLORE OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO BE BETTER.
DO BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL, BY SETTING HIGH STANDARDS, TO LEAD OTHERS.
DO CARE FOR THOSE WHO ARE LESS FORTUNATE AND WEAKER THAN WE ARE.
