COMMUNITY SUPPORTS D.E.A.R. DAY
OFS Scholars share love for books The community came out in large numbers to join Oakland Freedom School for “D.E.A.R. Day” on Wednesday, July 11 at Frick Middle School. D.E.A.R. Day, or Drop Everything And Read Aloud Day, is an annual OFS event. OFS Scholars read books to community members. The community also read books to OFS scholars individually and in small groups. Reading is an integral part of OFS. Every day, OFS Scholars Drop Everything, And Read for 15 minutes. National D.E.A.R. Day is April 12, but you can share the love of reading every day, and any day.
