ORGANIC GARDEN AND SUSTAINABLE FOOD POLICY The kitchen and the food production at The Orangery is sustained by The Palace Boutique Hotel Organic Garden located in Budaya. A large portion of the vegetables and herbs are needed and used in the creation of our menu are organically grown from heirloom seeds and under the dedicated care of our gardeners. We don’t use anything else but organic compost and fertilizers. The sweet water is supplied by an underground well fitted with organic filters that aim to retain all important minerals while eliminating any trace of salt. When we started over 4 years agowe aimed at being only the first ones in Bahrain to undertake such a challenge and we hope to have inspired other gardeners in the island to do the same. We believe that it positively impacts both the local economy as well as the negative carbon foot print that the over sea’s imports creates. In the same perspective we use as much as possible the large variety of locally caught seasfood and locally or regionally sourced meats and fowls with a keen eye to all organic and free range products. In time of changes for a better World for all of us, we want to be in the front line with all others innovators and pioneers!
