VAUD 2016... YOU WILL HAVE NO TIME TO GET BORED! Set in the heart of the Lake Geneva Region, the Canton of Vaud will become the Swiss capital of celebrations in 2016! The region, which is already known as a fertile festival ground, will break all records during the exceptionally eventful coming year. Vaudois people take pride in their cheerful and friendly culture and are looking forward to sharing it during the major events planned in 2016. Montreux Jazz, Switzerland’s best-known festival, will be celebrating its 50th edition. Before that, Montreux will welcome the virtuosos of our country during the 34th Federal Music Festival. The Swiss National Wrestling Festival, another dearly beloved traditional event, will be held in Estavayer-le-Lac and Payerne. Not to mention that 2016 will be the opening year of Chaplin’s World – in the Tramp’s former abode above Vevey – and, also in Vevey, of the “Nest” Centre, which chronicles Nestlé’s rich past in a fun and innovative way. The dates shown are those confirmed at the time of going to press. However, the dates indicated are subject to change. We recommend checking them on the website of the event.
