THE BEST OF ABBA TRIBUTE SHOW

CHICHESTER CITY BAND

Fri 20 October 7.30pm

Sun 22 October 2pm

In 1974 the little known Swedish pop group Abba swept to superstardom with their Eurovision winning Waterloo, and four decades later the song and the band remain as popular as ever.

Chichester City Band was founded in 1897 and has served the city and local community through many significant events over its long history. A traditional brass band (no woodwind or strings!), they perform throughout the year at fetes and concerts. They also support formal events in the City such as the annual Remembrance Sunday service, and are one of only two organisations to have permission to wear the Chichester city crest.

Now the phenomenal new tribute show ‘Waterloo’ looks back at the sensational rise to stardom of Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid and gives fans the opportunity to experience the thrill of a live Abba show! The unique Abba sound is replicated with an incredible attention to detail by a full live cast and band – with stunning costumes and breath-taking choreography. The wonderful lyrics penned by Benny and Bjorn are sung in captivating harmony from the opening refrain to the final sing-along chorus of this two-hour spectacular.

As well as public concerts, the band has entered many contests over the years, which has resulted in playing at some prestigious venues including Crystal Palace, Wembley Conference Centre, Cardiff International arena and Birmingham’s magnificent Symphony Hall. The new millennium started in the best possible way with the band qualifying for the Finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain at the Royal Albert Hall.
