NUNCRACKERS

LEGALLY BLONDE

By Dan Goggins

Book by Heather Hach Music and Lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin Based on the movie Legally Blonde.

Thurs 15 - Sat 17 December 7.30pm In Nuncrackers, The Little Sisters of Hoboken have constructed a Cable Access studio in their basement and are launching their very first Christmas TV special. Things go wrong from the beginning: Sister Mary Leo, the school's resident nun-ballerina, has a backstage mishap, throwing a wrench into plans for a full-scale ballet. But the sisters soldier on through musical numbers that range from the silly to the absurd. This show is filled with "Nunsense" humour, some of your favourite carols, a "Secret Santa," and an uproarious take on Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet. Nuncrackers will make you laugh and maybe tug at your heartstrings. It's the perfect way to insure your holiday season is merry and bright.

Thurs 19 - Sat 21 January 7.30pm, Sat Matinee 2.30pm Legally Blonde The Musical will take you from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway’s brightest new heroine (and of course, her Chihuahua, Bruiser). It follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical stays true to form with a peppy score and playful book. This show is ridiculously enjoyable from start to finish. Equally hilarious and heart-warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal! Following a hugely successful 2016 season, the Musical Theatre Joint Honours Company is proud to present this multi-award winning musical. HENRY VIII DAVID STARKEY Tues 14 February 7.30pm Henry VIII is the only king whose shape you remember. He bestrides our history like a colossus and the decisions he took still reverberate today. The Reformation is the first Brexit; his ministers devised the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty and his tumultuous personal life pitted religion against politics as brutally as in our own age of Isis. In this lecture David Starkey draws on his unique knowledge of Henry’s reign on the one hand, and his insights as a leading commentator on modern politics on the other, to illuminate both the Tudor age and our own.
