THE WEDDING SINGER Music by Matthew Sklar, Lyrics by Chad Beguelin, Book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy. Based upon the New Line Cinema film written by Tim Herlihy. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe).
THE WEDDING SINGER takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, The Wedding Singer's sparkling new score does for the '80s what Hairspray did for the '60s. It's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favourite wedding singer. He's the life of the party, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. @UOCwedding or Snapchat: MTPCompany

LIFE: A GAME OF TWO HALVES
THE SOUND OF MUSICALS
It took Michael Portillo little more than 10 years to get a seat in the Commons and then rise in power and esteem to a point where he was a favoured leader of his party and possible future PM. A track record like that suggests to many a privileged friend of the rich and famous. But since leaving the house a decade ago Michael has endeared himself to many with his obvious respect for solid workmanship and creative energy, as found in our great Victorian Railways, and the daily toil of the working man. A historian at heart, he has used a Victorian railway guide to take millions of viewers on a historical voyage of discovery throughout the UK, Ireland, the USA and Europe. Listen to his extraordinary story, told with a light almost “stand up” touch, and then feel free to question him about it.

JACQUI DANKWORTH ‘JAZZ SIRENS’ Given her musical pedigree – daughter of Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth – it is no surprise that Jacqui is firmly positioned as one of the UK’s foremost jazz vocalists. In this very special and intimate evening, Jacqui turns her attention to the most iconic vocalists of the Twentieth Century and the singers who defined 'The Great American Songbook' - including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone and Peggy Lee. Through a diverse repertoire arranged and curated by Jacqui, the concert celebrates the music of the ‘Jazz Sirens’, whose legacy and influence defined a classic era of jazz singing. Featuring numbers that made them international stars, alongside stylish reworkings of lesser -known gems, this is an evening of world-class music. “Had I not been sitting about three feet away from the action, I would have suspected some kind of electronic trickery because the arrangement was so complex, the timing so nifty and Ms Dankworth’s vocal control so exquisite” - The Observer

NUNSENSE THE MEGA MUSICAL
SUPPORTED BY THE DEBONAIRS
The Musical Theatre and Arts Development students at the University of Chichester are fundraising for the Regis Centre and what better way than to perform a musical. NUNSENSE THE MEGA MUSICAL is a comedy about a group of nuns desperately trying to raise money. They find themselves in a tricky situation when 52 of them die mysteriously. Baking cakes and selling cards raises enough money to bury 48 of them. But with 4 bodies still in the cook’s freezer, they put on a show as a fundraiser to bury the last few (before the inspector finds out).
Performed by Will Chandler, CLIFF...AS IF is considered by many to be the number one Sir Cliff Richard performing lookalike. This hugely entertaining show combines the great songs, amazing look and fantastic moves of the Peter Pan of Pop, with a healthy helping of fun!

Music By Leonard Bernstein Book and Lyrics By Betty Comden and Adolph Green Based on a concept by Jerome Robbins This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Boosey & Hawkes
At its heart, ON THE TOWN is a love-affair with New York City, from the city’s high-culture to its low-brow ‘street smarts’, to the innocent adventurousness of three sailors and the women they come across. The effervescence of the songs and laugh out loud comedy play out against the brooding, heart-breaking possibility that this might be the sailors’ first and last time that they will ever see the city, a poignancy that radiates from the cast of strong women that they meet along the way. It is, in all sense, and for all the senses, a total embrace! Under acclaimed Director Karen Howard (Annie Get Your Gun, Carousel) and Choreographer Damien Delaney (Sweet Charity, Half A Sixpence) with a West End band under Dustin Conrad. Part of the Leonard Bernstein at 100 Celebration.

RICH HALL’S HOEDOWN Rich Hall’s critically acclaimed new show begins its second leg of touring. There has never been a better time to be an American comedian in the UK. Hall’s precision dismantling of the tenuous relationship between two countries is as freewheeling and deadly accurate as ever. His BBC Four documentaries, most recently Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You and Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match and BBC Radio 4 series Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown have built him a new legion of followers, as has appearances on Have I Got News For You and QI. But if you’ve only ever seen Hall on TV, you’ve short-changed yourself. The Hoedown begins as a withering dissection of Trump’s America, but ends up being a celebration of Americana. There’s stand-up, improvised ballads, cracking good musicianship, and ultimately a hilarious, foot-stomping, shit-kicking good time to be had by all. Even if you don’t own a hoe.

LITTLE WOMEN Music by Jason Howland, Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, Book by Allan Knee. Based upon the novel by Louisa May Alcott. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe) LITTLE WOMEN has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America. Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears and a lifting of the spirit. The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope – the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND IN 2018!
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Book by George Furth This amateur production is licensed by Samuel French MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG makes a virtue of spilt milk, sour grapes and friendships down the drain, in the opposite linear format of telling a story backwards. It may not be the usual formula for a Broadway hit, but Sondheim’s score was a sensation and as life is not a straight line, audiences found that watching how the story rolls back 20 years in the life of Hollywood producer, Franklin Shepherd and how happy he once was as the talented but penniless Broadway composer, oddly compelling. Merrily We Roll Along curates the key moments in Frank’s life, which point precisely to how he got there and what he gave up (…a lot). Rarely performed, when this was revived for at The Chocolate Factory, London in 2012 it secured sell-out audiences, rave reviews and a cult following. Directed and Musically Directed by Sondheim specialists Sarah Redmond and Stuart Hutchinson.

The Barron Knights are probably the most entertaining group to come out of the 60s and 70s. Their musicianship, harmonies and of course their humour has earned them the title ‘The Guvnors’. Supremely talented and a showbiz phenomenon, they are the best tonic the NHS could give the population. Winners of the UK Rock and Pop awards as ‘Best Entertainers’, they are the only group to have toured with the Beatles and twice with the Rolling Stones. You’ll be rockin’ and rollin’ as well as laughing. As well as old favourites, they play their inimitable version of The William Tell Overture, Flamenco party piece Malaguana, their parody of Killer Queen plus a hilarious take on Windmills of Your Mind.
