University of Chichester Musical Theatre Performance Company

THE ADDAMS FAMILY: THE MUSICAL The Musical Theatre Performance Company is very proud to present this devilishly dark and daring musical comedy. Brought to you by the same team that produced The Wedding Singer and Little Women in their 2017/18 season. THE ADDAMS FAMILY features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.

Adapted by Steven Canny and John Nicholson for ‘Peepolykus’ Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s most celebrated Sherlock Holmes adventure gets a gloriously funny makeover. THE BLUES BAND 40 Years and back for more!

University of Chichester Musical Theatre Arts and Charity Development Joint Honours Company

COPACABANA

2019 sees The Blues Band Celebrate their 40th year together.

Music by Barry Manilow, Lyrics by Bruce Sussman and Jack Feldman, Book by Barry Manilow, Jack Feldman and Bruce Sussman.

Paul Jones, Dave Kelly, Tom McGuinness, Rob Townsend and Gary Fletcher.

After the success of Nunsense, the Musical Theatre and Arts Development students are throwing off their habits and sliding on feather headpieces to raise funds for your local sight-loss charity 4Sight Vision Support.

Many of the Blues Band’s 21st century fans weren’t even born when these five virtuosos, already music industry veterans, decided to fly in the face of musical fashion in 1979 and form a band ‘just to play the blues’. No one could have predicted that, 40 years on, they’d still be dazzling audiences with their showmanship and virtuosity. About 20 albums and thousands of gigs later, they’ve earned a reputation around the world as one of the finest exponents of the blues tradition in all its forms. With this line-up, it’s hardly surprising.

RESPECT TO ARETHA Life-long Aretha Franklin fan and power-house vocalist, Letitia George stars in this heartfelt and uplifting dedication to the Queen of Soul. Whilst Letitia will always be remembered for her breath-taking performances on series four of The Voice, she has gone on to forge an enviable reputation as one of the most passionate and hardworking soul singers around. Aretha’s sad passing has inspired Letitia and her outstanding backing band to attempt the seemingly impossible. Very few singers could ever do justice to the Aretha Franklin songbook… but Letitia George manages to capture the very spirit!

But don’t worry as Mark thinks Every Little Thing’s Gonna Be Alright. Mark’s sell-out show Who Do I Think I Am, revealed his natural father was a world backgammon champion. Now the star of Radio 4’s Mark Steel’s in Town, and newspaper columnist of the year is touring a show which is guaranteed to make the world seem even more mental than it is.
