2019

The 2019 Regis Jesuit Baseball season was one for the ages, culminating in the 2019 CHSAA State Championship, defeating Cherry Creek 8-3. The Raiders opened the season with back to back wins over Lakewood and Dakota Ridge before traveling to the IMG classic in Florida. Regis continued its strong play with a 3-1 record in the tournament, including wins over Covington, TN and Baylor, TN, both of whom had won 2018 State Championships at different levels in Tennessee. The Raiders stayed hot after returning home, winning 6 consecutive games and moving their record to 11-1. The team then went through a tough stretch, losing 4 of 6 games, all by three runs or less. The Raiders stood at 13-5 with 5 games remaining in the regular season. The team started playing well again, winning the last 5 games and headed into the CHSAA playoffs at 18-5, the number 2 seed overall. The Raiders hosted a district and delivered a 6-0 win over Monarch and a 2-0 win over Chatfield, moving on to the final 8 of the CHSAA playoffs. The Raiders put themselves in prime position with wins over Chaparral, Cherry Creek and Grandview, heading to the final 4 as the only undefeated team. The Raiders, now guaranteed to play in the State Championship, fell to Mountain Vista before knocking off Cherry Creek for the school’s 3rd State Championship. The team finished 24-6 and ranked in the top 35 in the nation. Several players received personal honors in this outstanding season.

Caden Wagner - -1st team All-Conference AND Continental Player of the Year Geno Macias - 1st team All-Conference Brent DiBiase - 2nd team All-Conference Jacob Thompsen - 2nd team All-Conference Ethan O’Donnell - 2nd team All-Conference Bryce Parsons - Honorable Mention All-Conference Mac Padilla - Honorable Mention All-Conference Owen Best - Honorable Mention All-Conference Patrick Strawbridge - Honorable Mention All-Conference
