Team Philosophy
Thoughts from Coach Darr during the quarantine:
I miss you guys. I miss the coaches. I miss the competition. My wife asked me the other night what I miss the most. Hard to nail down one thing but this is what came to mind: Heading out to the field, dragging the field, and opening the field up. At that point I like to sit in the dugout, thinking about the upcoming practice or game. Players start trickling in. I miss that. Saying hi to each of you. Giving some of you grief. Asking how you are doing. Asking how your arm is. Etc etc.

Team Philosophy
Philippians 4:13 states “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength”. The 2020 team will use this as the center piece of our season. We believe that we are playing for something that is bigger than ourselves, and acknowledge that our strength comes from our Lord, and that we desire to play in a manner that brings glory to Him. We also have faith that we as individuals and as teams can accomplish more than we could ever imagine because of the strength the Lord gives us. The Mission of Regis Jesuit High School is to create Men and Women with and for Others. We believe that baseball is an extension of that mission. We have an atmosphere that is not only conducive to developing baseball players, but more importantly, one that develops young men. Principles such as honesty, integrity, and character are the backbone of everything we do. We also believe that being a part of this program means that you are committing to be a part of something that is bigger than the individual and will ask you, at times, to make sacrifices. We believe that adhering to this, and understanding that “we is more important that me,” will not only make us a better team, but will provide life lessons. We want our program to compete and win at the highest level year in and year out. We also want our players to become better young men, and men better prepared to be husbands, fathers, and members of society because of their time as a Regis Jesuit baseball player. We believe that winning is a product of focusing on the little things that give you the best chance to play at your highest level. Regis Jesuit provides year round opportunities with Fall Baseball/Weights/Conditioning, Winter Workouts and Summer Baseball/Player Development that allow players to progress in the various aspects of their game, including their speed, strength, and overall athleticism. We don’t talk about winning. We believe winning is the culmination of hard work, player development and team chemistry. This is created through the various programs throughout the year. The spring season is a culmination of all of these efforts.
