Dr. Ary Zulfikar, known as Azoo, born in 1971 is a man of many talents who wanted to be a journalist like his father. Remarkably Azoo’s parents told him, “Whatever the work, it must be done in earnest, not just making money but how we manage the work and carry it out.” “My mother taught me that there is nothing impossible, so everything, if you really do it can be done well. This is what motivates me to stay ahead and work as well as possible,” said Azoo. His deep respect for his parents’ words has done him very well in meeting the challenges he faced daily in life both as a lawyer and a businessman. Numerous awards were to follow for his ability to hold to this principle and garnered very deep and heartfelt respect from his peers and work colleagues.

After high school, Azoo completed his education at the Faculty of Law at Padjajaran University and graduated in 1994 and started his career as a lawyer through the law firm Kartini Muljadi &Rekan (KMR). In spite of the many hurdles and challenges which were ahead of him, Azoo established his own law firm under the name AZP Legal Consultants after gaining much experience at his old law firm.

AZP Legal Consultants has received many awards, including being listed as the Top 30 Largest Law Consultants and ranked 10th in the Legal League Table of Bloomberg in 2011 as legal advisors for bond issuance. They received awards in assisting the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in the issuance of Government bonds, namely the Indonesia Deal of the Year – Government of Indonesia’s US$ 1.25 billion Green Sovereign Sukuk by IFN Awards 2018. A Sovereign Deal of the Year – Government of Indonesia’s US$ 1.25 billion Green Sovereign Sukuk by IFN Awards 2018 and the Islamic Finance News Deals of The Year, Sukuk Retail Publishing, Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, 2010 were also included as achievements of his law firm.

In the field of law, Azoo was also recorded to have won many awards for his dedication, including being in the Top 100 Indonesia Lawyers by the Asia Business Law Journal for four consecutive years, from 2018 to 2021 and awards such as Leading Lawyer in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018 in the field of banking and finance from Asialaw. All these were important achievements for Azoo who took it humbly, remembering his parents’ advice as principle tools that moulded and guided him to where he is presently.

As Legal Executive Director of LPS (Deposit Insurance Corporation) he has met and will overcome many challenges due to his impressive track record. Azoo still took time to bond with friends of Padjadjaran University alumni and during the Covid 19 period. It was his idea to form a community of alumni of Padjadjaran University. “In 2020, I interacted with friends from campus, and I saw that many alumni from Padjadjaran did business activities, but not as a life calling but were forced to it because of living conditions and survival,” said Azoo.

Finally, in March 2020, an MSME community was formed by the alumni of PadjadJaran University which spread across several regions in Indonesia, as a forum for friendship between alumni. This was chaired by Azoo under the name Perkumpulan Bumi Alumni (PBA) with a total participation of more than 800 in Whatsapp groups and other social media platforms, such as Instagram (ig @umkmalumni) with 3,674 followers and Facebook with more than 2,600 followers to date.

The PBA chaired by Azoo became an aggregator in providing guidance and training to its members to work together in order to galvanize the people’s economic ecosystem so that it would be even bigger. This began to be developed through digital platforms with the trademark “LUPBA” & “CUPBA” which is a collective trademark to accommodate the products of MSME actors. “By developing a digital platform, a community-based market place where MSMEs are sold, where they can become sellers, buyers or as dropshippers, we combine this in a platform called Bumi Alumni Gallery (www. bumialumni.com). This melds together with the marketing community, so that those who become members can take advantage of the marketing we do by aiming to bring their products closer to the market”, said Azoo in his interview with Registry.

Despite his busy schedule, Azoo also has a culinary business which he runs wuth a friend, a charming Japanese restaurant called “FUKURO DINING & SAKE BAR” located at the prominent SCBD Sudirman-South Jakarta area. With a luxurious menu presentation and a place that seems cozy, FUKURO Dining & Sake Bar is one of the most comfortable choices of places for people to enjoy lunch, dinner or as a hangout place on weekends with luxurious and classy drinks.

In parting, Azoo delivered a heartfelt and sincere message for the younger generation to place heed to the slogan, “You definitely can”, a phrase that inspired Azoo to succeed to this day, because nothing is impossible in this world, as long as one plans things in earnest. Like his father’s message to Azoo, “Dream is part of the goal. Goal is part of the plan. Plan is part of the hard work. And hard work is part of the success. Great people are not produced through ease, pleasure and comfort, they are formed through hardships and challenges.”

CARTIER

Beautes Du Monde Collection

The new High Jewellery collection by Cartier recognises the beauty of the world wherever it may be. The collection illustrates Cartier’s ability to admire beauty, to then embellish it with a vision that translates into design, the tension of lines, the geometry or abstraction: a coral reef snakes along a flamboyant necklace; the skin of an iguana turns into a geometric matrix; a Chinese puzzle reveals a kaleidoscopic ring. The interplay of stones amplifies the elements of nature and cultures that inspire this new collection.

With over 200 creations on display at the exhibition in Capella Singapore, the presentation showcases Cartier’s dedication to capturing beauties of the world. An insatiable observer of all the beauties of the world, the curiosity of its jewellers is twofold: they are defined by a singular eye that detects beauty wherever it is found and by a perfectly mastered knowhow that challenges them.

Panthère Héroïque Necklace, Earrings & Ring

Cartier’s design unfolds in a foliate arrangement of green and blue-green sapphires, heightened by the solar radiance of yellow diamonds/sapphires. Particularly flexible, the piece hints at the organic character of nature. In small touches, gems with geometric shapes bring a stylised note — and a cadenced punctuation — to this remarkably realistic ensemble. The set was handcrafted in 1,009 hours.

28 REGISTRY INDONESIA | JEWELLERY
Panthère Héroïque

Cartier has often distinguished itself by choosing unusual specimens. The mingling of geometric gems and the fascination for faraway cultures and landscapes inspires Cartier. A few years after being introduced, palm trees perfectly embodied the “Toussaint taste”, referring to Jeanne Toussaint, Creative Director of the Maison from 1933 to the early 1970s.

Pankha Necklace, Bracelet, Earrings & Ring

The Maison was inspired by the features of a snowflake when studied up-close. In an almost entirely monochrome arrangement, this long necklace enhances a remarkable ensemble of aquamarines. Placed off-centre to one side, the main stone, weighing 43.34 carats, drives a movement. In small touches, a series of cabochon-cut opals enlivens the palette and brings an organic note to the predominantly geometric design. The emerald-cut aquamarine has a remarkable carat-weight and a perfectly homogenous intense-blue colour. The set was handcrafted in 1,273 hours.

Looking at the beauty of the world, preserving it and above all enriching it: this is a passion that has never ceased to imbue the Maison’s philosophy. The latest Beautés du Monde High Jewellery collection contributes to this, serving as a testament to Cartier’s wonder at the diversity of beauty.

PIAGET SOLSTICE COLLECTION

Emboldened Quality

Solstice announces a moment of celebration. The longest night of the year is a promise of suspended hours during which time flies, and happiness sparkles. Colours shine brighter, smiles appear wider, and the glow of gold and precious stones sparkles just a little more vividly. The night has begun…

The Piaget Solstice collection is quality at the forefront. Combined with the Maison’s unique craftsmanship, Piaget’s jewellery expertise offers exceptional stones a delicate setting, displaying their beauty on precious and playful pieces. From the blue and pink sapphires from Sri Lanka and Madagascar, to the Australian black opals and unique Zambian emeralds - all radiate boldness and brimming energy. In the “Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire”, our artisans shape and sculpt gold to give it the suppleness of a silky fabric. Their asymmetrical designs and delicate curves offer a splendid display of Piaget’s mastery. Cut into 55 facets, the marquise-cut epitomizes the radiance that shimmers throughout the collection.

Piaget once again combines its two main savoir-faires in the Solstice collection’s exceptional watches. A pinnacle of watchmaking craft, the flying tourbillon movement of the Dazzling Swirl watch is adorned with a design that is another nod to the twirling of a sumptuous dress. True to its tradition and eager to explore new territories, the Maison Piaget once again pushes the boundaries of craft and creativity. Get ready for a dizzying evening of freedom and extravagance!

Piaget epitomizes daring creativity – a quality that has continued to permeate through the Maison since its beginnings in 1874. From his first workshop in La Côte-aux-Fées, Georges-Edouard Piaget devoted himself to crafting highprecision movements in a feat that formed the very foundations of our pioneering name. In the late 1950s, Piaget unveiled the ultra-thin movements that would later become the Maison’s trademark and the cornerstone of the Altiplano collection. As a true innovator of the watch and jewellery world, Piaget strongly believes in creativity and artistic values. It is within the walls of our “Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire” where master artisans continue to harness rare skills that have been preserved and perfected from generation to generation, transforming gold, stones and precious gems into dazzling works of art. Through its pursuit of masterful craftsmanship, the Maison has created emblems of daring excellence channelled into its collections including Altiplano, Piaget Polo, Limelight Gala, Possession, Piaget Sunlight, Piaget Rose and Extremely Piaget.

Iced Sea Diver’s Watch

Montblanc introduced the Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, the Maison’s first ever sports diving watch in July 20th at Plaza Indonesia. ZEGNA WINTER 2022

Unique Sartorial Excellence

Zegna has been independently relying on its own talents since 1910. The Zegna road originates in the mountains, and crosses Oasi Zegna, the free-access natural territory in Piedmont, Northern Italy. Known as 232, this road is the inspiration, as it defines a path woven into everything done for the last 112 years. With it echoes the founder’s essential truth of hoping to weave the fabric of a tomorrow that feels worthy of dreams. In the vision of Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori, it coalesces into a precise idea of the masculine wardrobe, contextualized in the here and now. The sartorial re-set, initiated one year ago, is finally settling into an organic language: a repertoire of new shapes and new functions merging aesthetics, ethics and performance.

“I keep looking at the world through the Zegna lens. The reality we live in today requires adaptability; it asks us all to be fluid. Translating this idea into clothing means building a language of shapes and textures that grows and consolidates over time, matching the needs of the moment. The notion of the hybrid is one I keep exploring, because there’s progress in erasing staid categories”, says Alessandro.

The collection gently yet firmly assesses what a contemporary style should look and feel like: functional and individual, comfortable yet not conformist, heralding an evolved idea of formality that seamlessly switches from the great outdoors to life indoors. The layering and the fusion of shapes and functions sets the tone: trapeze-

shaped coats are worn over taped, technical silk inner shells; ripstop anoraks are made of wool; fine leathers are cut into shirts bonded in cashmere, worn either alone or under blazers, while pullovers and thick jumpers are meant as outerwear. The divide between inside and outside, layers and outerwear, is blurred and continuously turned. The silhouette is fluid yet sharp, made of effortless sums of garments: tabarro coats and jackets, utilitarian jackets, parkas, anoraks and pullovers, trousers that taper at the hem. Collars, pockets and closures feature subtle details that bring movement to the surface making it integral to construction.

Shapes and functions are highlighted by a choice of dense fabrics, modulated in an organic array of colours. Gabardine, scuba wool, technical silk, wool denim and the newly created Oasi Cashmere define the textures of layered looks that blend light notes of salt, frost white and slate grey with deep notes of ebony black and mahogany brown and accents of Zegna vicuna colour, vintage brass and aubergine quartz. The path of innovation and evolution is affirmed as the only one worth taking. For Zegna, that’s the road leading to ‘Made in Italy’.

BERLUTI

Reinventing Fashion That Suits

Berluti’s Autumn/Winter 2022 collection is the epitome of fluidity, function and craftsmanship, bringing a resolutely modern feel to the Maison’s timeless designs. Berluti reinvents winter basics. Firstly, Oxford shoes like the Alto. Distinctive for a sole that’s entirely sheathed in Venezia leather, this design extends the Scritto pattern from the quarter right down to the sole in its Nero Grigio version. Then the Aspen, for adventurers – a real mountain boot with patented rubber sole grip technology. Lastly, Berluti is reissuing its emblematic Ultima. Both the Oxford shoe and the boot now have soles that combine leather with rubber, and both feature nubuck inserts on their upper.

The Overnight weekend bag, the Journalier shoulder pouch bag and the cross-body Rider –which together make up the Jour Softy line, are all in a new soft brown patina. In tandem, the go-anywhere E’Mio briefcase is also evolving, with a new twist on its signature lock-like clasp. Craftmanship is under the spotlight again in Drapé, which showcases all the Maison’s savoir-faire as a bootmaker. Drapé is a play of delicate curves inspired by the fall of draped fabrics in classical sculpture, painting, and drawing throughout the history of art. Its artistry with fine leathers, patinas and colours was the guiding principle behind this collection of contemporary silhouettes imbued with classic elegance.

Berluti is a Parisian house with Italian roots. There is a looser, more fluid and relaxed feel to Berluti’s iconic ready-towear, leather goods and footwear. For city wear, the collection teams short, straight bomber jackets in patinated leather with suits and tailored pants. Shades of Black, Coffee Fudge and Cognac abound in these pieces, and all the Berluti hallmarks are also there – from the patinated finish and subtle use of the Scritto pattern under the pocket flaps, to the zipper pulls and tabs brought across from the iconic Un Jour bag. The leather penny bar from the Andy loafer has also been hijacked as an emblem on the back of knitwear. Scritto is a perfect example of how the Maison’s signatures are reinterpreted. Initially applied to shoes and leather goods, the pattern is now worked in jacquard on the sleeve of a parka, and appears in woven or knitted variations on windcheaters, sweaters and shirts.

Berluti was established in Paris in 1895 and has been built by four generations of shoemakers. In 2005 fine leather goods were introduced and, in 2011, a complete clothing collection. A unique bespoke service from head to toe is now available through Berluti’s workshops in rue Marbeuf and rue de Sèvres. Berluti now has over 60 stores worldwide.

LAVANI

Classic Beautiful Jewelry

Starting in a small workshop in Magelang, Central Java, in 2015, Amero Jewellery has now developed into a company with high international standards, aiming to bring handcrafted jewelry by Indonesian artisans to the international market.

With a thorough understanding of market segmentation, Amero produces their various creative ideas with state-of-the-art equipment, resulting in international standardized jewelry. As a company, Amero Jewelry strongly believes in the power of human resources and applies a corporate philosophy of I- CARE (Integrity, Collaboration, Accuracy, Responsibility, Excellence). Amero has a vision to become a leading national company, making positive impacts for Indonesian people.

This is a genuinely handcrafted jewelry collection by skilled Indonesian artisans. The collection was presented via a specially choreographed gala art performance showcasing the rich talent from the archipelago of Indonesia. “Everyone, especially women, wear jewelry not only to look beautiful and pleasing to the eye, but also to adopt the philosophy in it…”, said Peter Agus Wijaya, the CEO of Amero Jewellery at the launch of their latest collection, Lavani. In Sanskrit, ‘Lavani’ means ‘elegance’, which also translates as ‘love’ and ‘character’. The Borobudur Temple itself is made of lava (semifluid rocks erupted from the volcano), which also makes up a fragment of the word ‘Lavani’.

Amero Jewellery comprises eighteen sets of gold jewelry that adopt the designs of Borobudur Temple’s stone stairways and reliefs, featuring the beautiful philosophy of good moral values and virtues. The eighteen sets of jewelry consist of rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants. Amero recognizes the rich and diverse demands of today’s jewelry lovers, which greatly vary according to their personal backgrounds. Women, both teenagers and adults, may have different fashion styles, but none of them wants to look outdated.

The Lavani Symphony featured both the present and the archipelago’s cultural richness in an art performance and orchestra, which combined Western melodies and pentatonic compositions, both Pelok and Slendro, which are deeply rooted in Indonesian musical identity. In addition, there were also various dance performances and a jewelry parade, whose choreography was derived from Central Java’s culture, in which the Borobudur Temple is located; all packaged with a fresh, modern touch. Indonesian rich cultural heritage can withstand the tests of time and excel. Amero Jewelry is helping to achieve this in a very successful and unique way.

LA PRAIRIE

Pure Gold Radiance Nocturnal Balm

La Prairie has designed a formula to boost energy in devitalised skin following a two-step approach.

First, the formula of Pure Gold Nocturnal Balm brings a potent energy-rich nutrient to the skin. Then, La Prairie’s exclusive Pure Gold Diffusion System amplifies the conversion of this energy-rich nutrient into energy by activating

an energy sensor. This triggers the optimal use of the energyrich nutrient to help fuel the skin’s nightly replenishing processes, which are especially energy-consuming. Night time is a moment of recovery and rebuilding for the skin.

54 REGISTRY INDONESIA | BEAUTY & WELLNESS

These nightly regenerating processes require high amounts of energy to function optimally. Skin that is devitalised cannot supply this energy, as cellular metabolism – essential to providing energy to the cells – is slowed down. The ageing process is accelerated, and signs of ageing become more prominent. The Pure Gold Diffusion System delivers a three-peak action sequence to the skin.

First comes the immediate deposition of gold on the skin’s surface to offer instant radiance. An intense infusion of replenishing ingredients follows. Finally, a steady release of the replenishing ingredients linked to the gold particles deposited on the skin’s surface completes the sequence. Night after night, skin appears strengthened and restructured. Radiance is restored. Come morning, a new radiance arises. All of La Prairie’s creations are the result of 90 years of Swiss cellular science. Pure Gold Radiance Nocturnal Balm is infused with La Prairie’s Exclusive Cellular Complex, an active ingredient that gives new life and energy back to the skin.

After cleansing and toning, Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate, or alternatively, a small amount of the Pure Gold Radiance Nocturnal Balm is applied to the skin as a base for the immersive ceremony.

After performing the signature gesture, Pure Gold Radiance Eye Cream is applied. Finally, the skin is cosseted with the application of the Pure Gold Radiance Nocturnal Balm. Inspired by the dawn of radiance, its rich, lustrous champagne-coloured formula envelops the skin in a comforting embrace. The signature fragrance of the Pure Gold Collection sets the tone for a resplendent experience while the skin is left feeling revitalised, replenished, enriched.

La Prairie perpetuates its sustainability journey by offering this new creation in a replenishable vessel, in line with the other creations of the Pure Gold Collection where each creation’s brushed metal casing and cap are designed to be kept indefinitely. Only the delicate glass vials containing the formulas, once empty, are meant to be replaced by new ones. Make your own golden glow with La Prairie’s Gold Diffusion System.

FRANCK MULLER

Vanguard Yachting Inspired From The Yacht

Dedicated to the world, this new timepiece from Franck Muller takes inspiration from the seafaring people and combines the nautical details such as compass rose with deep blue colors. Elevating the elegance of navy blue beyond the dial with the brand new blue ceramic case and extending to the strap, the Vanguard Yachting is a true work of art that evokes the hulls of ships and blurs the line between the dial and the strap. With the distinct Vanguard numerals that perfectly complements the audacious design of the dial, this avant-garde timepiece with hand sewn alligator or nylon strap makes for the ideal sporty watch for the owners of a yacht.

ROGER DUBUIS

Hypnotic Art For The Wrist

This time, the third timepiece from its Urban Culture Tribe is the Excalibur Sorayama Monobalancier (MB) that showcases its radical expertise and shows designs of the future. The inspiration for this timepiece as usual comes from the most unexpected place, natural to Roger Dubuis. Together with world famous Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, recrafting the work of art that is the Excalibur Monobalancier itself was an exciting and versatile canvas for Sorayama to express himself. Hyper performing, hyper inspiring, and hyper hypnotic, the result is modern art for the wrist.

LAMBORGHINI TECHNOMAR 63 YACHT

Racing the Waves

The Yacht “Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63“is not simply an exercise in style and design but she also represents the avant-garde of luxury speed boats. Inspired by the performance of Lamborghini super sport cars, there are two innovative elements at the basis of her design concept: speed and dynamic weight. The Italian Sea Group unveils their latest, this limited edition yacht not only honours the fact Lamborghini was founded in 1963, but the hull length is also 63 feet (nearly 20 meters), and while not powered by Lamborghini engines, this Tecnomar does come with a pair of V12 engine from MAN, 2,000 hp each, they propel the 24 tons yacht to a top speed of 60 knots (that’s 111 Km/h).

The use of carbon fiber (a typical element of the cars of Sant’Agata Bolognese) guarantees the classification in the range of ultralight boats. The design of the exteriors is the result of the close collaboration between the

two Centro Stiel and has led to the creation of a cutting-edge silhouette, completely out of any typical nautical scheme. The super-performing hull comes from the design of the team of naval engineers specialized in the study of computational fluid dynamics while hull and superstructure relaunch in a contemporary key the lines created by designer Marcello Gandini for the iconic Lamborghini cars Miura and Countach from the 60s and 70s. The Hard Top is inspired by Lamborghini’s roadster models; it provides not only protection from the sun and wind but also amazing aerodynamic performance. The bow lights are a tribute to this concept. The Interiors are the result of a high-tech design based on the use of high-tech materials in terms of weight and functionality, perfectly combined with the best craftsmanship tradition of Made-In-Italy. The unmistakably automotive inspiration proposes iconic elements of the Lamborghini design, such as hexagons, clean lines, Y. Colours and materials are, 100% customizable

through the program Ad Personam. The Pilot Cabin interprets the automotive cockpit in a nautical key, in which all navigation and monitoring systems are fully integrated. As in the super sport Lamborghini are also the details in carbon fiber, the use of the Carbon Skin, the super sport seats and the rudder/ steering wheel. Finally, the unmistakable “start&stop” button (present on the yacht in two units, one per engine) is the same that starts the engine of the Lamborghini Car. It has a maximum guest accommodation of 5 with crew of 2. Made to race the waves with pleasure.

LAFLO

Remarkable Italian

A choice place that provides a variety of furniture and accessories for those who want to get quality products is located right next to the side door of Senayan City Mall, this is LAFLO, which opened its showroom in June 2015. It has a very strategic location and is easily accessible to visitors which makes this showroom in great demand by lovers of contextual Italian style.

Laflo was present here because of the initiative of Alwi Sjaaf and Katarina Gumulya, in 1995. Initially, Laflo opened a showroom on the second floor at Plaza Senayan, South Jakarta to introduce a lifestyle full of art and culture through Italian furniture and accessories to the people of Indonesia. “As we know, Italy’s advanced and historical culture certainly attracts customers to know it more closely,” said Erlangga Boenawan, Director of Laflo.

Laflo occupies a two-story showroom arranged like a residential house, so one will easily find styling inspirations in each room. “We attach great

importance to relationships with both designers and clients. You do this by providing the best service and prices. This is to meet the market share of high-end customers, where market expectations and demands are very high, so it is very important to have a flawless shopping experience,” says Erlangga. To fulfill this, Laflo also collaborated with many well-known brands that were divided by history, style, and zeitgeist design. Such as the art nouveau-style Cecotti Collezioni, the modern Knoll International with some Bauhaus touches, the Driade with its modern post style, the contemporary-style Living Divani and Italian Glas, and the Seletti featuring imaginative and contextual accessories.

The showroom in Surabaya will be the second showroom for LFLO, after its first showroom in Jakarta. Erlangga hopes that this Surabaya showroom can contribute as much as 15% to the total revenue this year. This amount is not too large because Jakarta is still the main income granary. The reason is the Jakarta showroom market also includes

consumers from outside Jakarta. He also hopes to increase his inventory assets because often the customers have to pre-order the furniture they want. With the addition of assets and inventories, Laflo hopes that the performance can be even better. Laflo is also preparing to expand on its online platforms. MAXALTO BY MAGRAN New Concepts in Furnishing

The new Maxalto space hosts the Heritage Perspectives collection. Designed and coordinated by Antonio Citterio, Maxalto’s Art Director since the mid-nineties, the collection responds to a precise concept, in which unprecedented combinations of memory and design, craftsmanship and technology, define a unique, original and coherent vision. Maxalto did not want to create only objects, but an entire idea of environment, of bourgeois inspiration..., a scenario in which some points of reference were important: the imagination of designers such as Jean Michel Frank, who refine the sometimes-constricting geometries of Modernism… and help yield an important synergy for all to enjoy.

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022, the Maxalto space hosts “Surroundings”, the project designed by composer Koki Nakano, which invites one to experience the brand through an unprecedented sensorial dimension. Suggestive sounds evoke the senses and accompany the visitor on a journey through the Maxalto collection. The musical composition is divided into two moments, characterized by percussive, rhythmic sounds designed to explore the relationship between people and the environment. The first part is dedicated to the living and dining areas of the Maxalto Home, lively spaces designed for conviviality and sociability. The second moment of the composition is dedicated to a more private scenario, the one of the home studio

and night area. “My composition depicts a transition of things from one state to another, keeping its core.” Says Koki Nakano. This man is a composer and a pianist, born in 1988 in Fukuoka, Japan. After studying at the composition department of Tokyo University of the Arts, he moved to Paris. He has performed recitals at the Louvre and the Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris), Cadogan Hall (London), Lincoln Center (New York). He released his first album ‘Lift’ in 2016, in collaboration with French cellist Vincent Segal under the Parisbased label Nø Førmat! His second album ‘Prechoreographed’ was released in April 2020. In 2021, Koki composed the original music of world-renowned choreographer Damien Jalet’s piece ‘Brise-lames’ (Costume/Set design by JR). He then performed it live at Palais Garnier for Paris Opera’s opening gala. Koki Nakano’s new album ‘Oceanic Feeling’ was released on 13th May 2022.

Its Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Daniel Surya graciously gave his time to sit down with Registry Indonesia and Registrye. com to share some insights into how he began his career and revealed interesting details which led him to create WIR Group. He started his career in 2000 with a core focus on brand building and assisting Indonesian brands to make their mark on the global stage. Having spent close to a decade, Daniel Surya and his brothers and partners decided to create the WIR Group around about 2009, with an emphasis being on Augmented Reality (AR) and brand building for the inauguration and growth of Web 3.0 in Indonesia otherwise referred to as the Metaverse.

WIR Group currently has 5 (five) global patents for AR which are registered nationally as well as in the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) stage which covers 153 countries. WIR Group has completed more than a thousand projects, encompassing AR and VR application development and branding projects, for corporations from various industrial sectors located in more than 20 countries.

Daniel Surya has great hopes and ambitions for WIR Group. He along with his partners hope that WIR (which he divulged is actually an acronym for “We Indonesians Rock”) hope to pass on a fundamentally sound company which has made its mark on the global stage and arena to the next generation of Indonesians. A message that he feels is particularly important is for WIR Group to develop and grow into a globally significant company and to be identified as not just technology users but also technology creators.

WIR Group’s main business activities through its subsidiaries are providing AR-based technology services by combining VR, AI, Internet of Things (IoT) and other supporting technologies such as Blockchain and Mechatronics as a medium to generate ideas and products that enable interaction between the virtual world and the real world tailored to the needs of each consumer. He espouses strongly the concept of SAAS – which he refers to Software as a Solution. In a nutshell, Daniel describes WIR as a platform company that supports and builds the metaverse ecosystem for Indonesia as well as the Global Market. The two key pillars that Daniel and the folks over at WIR are developing extensively presently are the O2O Metaverse Ecosystem – which enables the entire population

of Indonesia the ability to enter into the Metaverse or Web 3.0. The second pillar is of course the Metaverse itself which is essentially like an organic entity that will continue to grow, take shape and mould itself into what WIR envisions it to be.

The potential of the Metaverse or Web 3.0, according to Daniel Surya is a natural growth which has to be followed through such as the natural growth from static images to moving pictures. In Web 3.0, there is a more interactive theme around it which enables greater interaction and crosstalk which was previously not envisaged. Daniel anticipates that the world in the future is essentially going to be frameless and that this transition to that level of daily interaction is what Daniel and the WIR Group are prepping the public in Indonesia and indeed the world at large for.

For Daniel and WIR Group knowledge in understanding web 3.0 or the metaverse is crucial. It should not be loosely defined as just merely being NFT’s or VR. The key factor in making a metaverse successful is for the general population to be made aware and given knowledge. Infrastructure such as hardware and general connectivity are important aspects that are essential for the adoption and success of the Metaverse. Another factor is for companies across various industries to adopt digital content and creation and understanding that various stakeholders and participants play a crucial role such as the Indonesian government’s plan to roll out 5G across Indonesia thereby keeping Indonesia technologically abreast and in the know at all times.

Some of the notable landmarks and achievements of WIR Group include it being featured by Forbes Georgia as one of “Metaverse Technology Companies to Watch in 2022” list along with Apple, Microsoft and Facebook. WIR Group was also distinguished to be entrusted by the Indonesian Ministry of Investment to represent it at the Davos World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2019 and 2020 and the recently held forum this past May 2022.

The Company through its Subsidiaries offers integrated technology services that offer 3 main solutions for consumers, that are Solution for Brands such as providing services in developing digital reality technology with the purpose of assisting clients to provide interactive consumer experiences. This automatically translates into increased sales and revenue. The WIR Group is also at the forefront of providing creative advertising services using AR technology in interacting with consumers, especially for Fast Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) brands. Additionally, WIR Group is also able to develop a virtual retail store network that facilitates offline retail outlets to offer their products to the wider public online.

A truly breathtaking and remarkable company, WIR Group’s trajectory and growth is one that all Indonesians can be proud and resonate as one with.

EDY SUSANTO & JONI TSE

Make Lifestyle a Business Opportunity

The needs and trends in the use of home lifts are opportunities for business people such as Edy Susanto and Joni Tse, who in 2016 established PT Pardi Solusi Abadi, as an international standard Home Lift innovation provider company. The practicality, health factors of residents who are unable to climb stairs and the popularity of vertical houses due to limited land has made home lifts essential. Many people nowadays are building more threestorey houses.

The home lift is one of the best tools that can provide added value for the beauty, aesthetics and functionality of the building. A suitable home lift can make the building look more luxurious and elegant. While in the element of function, home lifts make it easier for human activities to move from the first floor to another, so that the function of each floor and room can be used optimally.

“Since this company was initiated in 2016, we have always collaborated with contractors, architects, interior designers in terms of providing education to many people, because home lifts are indeed a new thing so we educate online and offline to many people and social media. The online platform is on our YouTube account Pardisolusi. In this YouTube we provide education about our Home Lifts and @pardisolusiabadi Instagram and the website www.pardisolusi.com which contains all the information of the company, our products and all the integrated solutions we offer to the people of Indonesia,” explained Joni.

With the perseverance and persistence of these two young entrepreneurs, the Home Lift products offered by Pardi Solusi Abadi began to be widely used by consumers in Indonesia. Accordingly, from 2016 to mid-2022, his company has provided services to hundreds and hundreds customers spread throughout Indonesia. And given the huge domestic market, he added, Pardi Solusi Abadi continues to focus on reaching more consumers. “From year to year we will focus on reaching more, according to our vision and mission which wants to help reach more Indonesians,” said Edy. Pardi Solusi Abadi has now penetrated into various regions, including Jakarta, Medan, Batam, Lampung, throughout Java, Makassar, Pare-Pare, Bali, Pekanbaru and in the near future reaching Papua.

“We now have two offices in Tangerang and Surabaya, so we can reach clients spread across almost all over Indonesia,” said Joni. Edy and Joni realize that people who have made home lifts as a lifestyle status symbol that demands the certainty of solid after-sales service. Therefore, Pardi Solusi Abadi presents

services 24 hours and 7 days a week. For this reason, Edy and Joni built a large and solid team so that they can provide services as needed by their consumers and can cover services in western, central and eastern Indonesia.

“We built this company together and now we have a line of 30 technicians, we provide the standards we want, where our technicians install or maintain at the client’s house. Now we are conducting supervision of the whole process from the elevator hole to the installation, handover, maintenance which is standardized in the form of company contracts. We were able to do it this year through our increasingly solid engineering organizational structure. A standard which is carried out for generations in the organization, so that the next generation of this company can be guaranteed the required standards,” explained Joni. “We comply with state regulations. We are a K3 Lift and Elevator certified company from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia; meaning that our existence is recognized by the government. When we install home lifts and maintenance, we maintain our standards. This ensures the public has high confidence in us, so if people believe in our elevator, they will tell it to friends, relatives and so on. This is the philosophy we carry out,” explained Edy.

Pardi Solusi Abadi home lift is a unique product. It uses screw drive technology and Hybrid traction technology that has been patented and proven for more than 30 years and meets international safety requirements procedures from Europe. Other than that, according to Edy, Pardi Solusi’s home lift technology does not require an engine room and no pits. The installation does not need to disassemble the space arrangement or does not require additional walls so that it saves more space and still maintains aesthetics.

A sense of enthusiasm and objectivity in work is obtained from the family. A businessman will also work hard for the sake of his family. “I’m a very family-first person. Once at home, myself and my time belong to my children and wife, especially at the weekends. Being able to see my two children grow up is a happiness without value,” said Edy.

Both Edy Susanto and Joni Tse say to the younger generation, especially those who are starting a business to never get discouraged. “So don’t be discouraged and one must have a strong mentality. This is what young people who have a business must hold, must have a clear vision and mission and that is where we can still succeed and stand tall,” said Edy.

FUKURO DINING

Japanese Dining Indonesian Experience

Fukuro Dining has infused authentic Japanese cuisine with Asian Flavors to create a unique own style that captivates worldwide clientele. With a variety selection of Japanese teas and drinks, customers can indulge in the freshest seasonal ingredients in an ethereal, elegant atmosphere and experience the effects of fusion of Japan and Indonesian cuisine. Chef Hideki Fujiwara brings an exciting addition to Fukuro’s menu, consisting of fresh ingredients straight from Japan.

With the motto “Washoku to the world” meaning traditional Japanese high-end cuisine giving happiness and health to customers, this dining palace is very popular with the locals as well as expatriates. As an example, meat prepared in Teppan Yaki is never poor quality. The meat from cattle takes roughly three years to grow to perfection. In order for the meat to be sold under the Matsusaka name, it must meet strict standards. Only virgin female cows can be sold as Matsusaka beef and all calves must be of a breed registered by the Matsusaka Beef Management System. Most of the meat is sold through stores owned by the Matsusaka Beef Cattle Association. To prevent cheap meat from being sold under the Matsusaka name, all authentic stores have an “Association Member’s Certificate”. The Mie Prefecture Matsusaka Shokuniku Kosha public corporation implemented a system for tracking the cows to ensure authenticity. Hence the taste is unique, incorporating a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which means iron plate, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried. In Japan, teppanyaki refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate, including steak, shrimp, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki.

For dining, Fukuro has the concept of home style gallery where there are many ornaments, such as dolls, masks and paintings. A comfortable, luxurious concept room, with exclusive interior design, magnificent chandelier and onyx marble wall in Jakarta always amuses travellers. It comes with a unique design and many Japanese ornaments and toys are scattered there. Fukuro Dining has signature foods including appetizers, main courses, desserts, and drinks. Firstly try 3 famous starters of Fukuro. These include Pork Kimchi, Salmon Stairs, and Takoyaki. For the main courses, try both Sukiyaki and Unagi Hitsumabushi. The best dessert to try is Kakigori Green Tea. What about the drinks? Don’t forget to order your favorites or try the chef’s recommendation with the food you eat.

Agung Hujatnikajennong, a curator of ARTJOG, explained, “ARTJOG 2022 Expanding Awareness closes our series of festivals, which since 2019 have been framed with the umbrella theme of arts-in-common. The curatorial selection and the design of educational programs cover a spectrum that so far exists outside the ‘mainstream’ Indonesian arts, including art practiced by children, youth and disabled communities. We believe that through art, it is possible to expand awareness not through a didactic, linear and unidirectional process, but accumulatively and reciprocally among the works of artists and audiences, so that the awareness about inclusiveness that we voice can also have a widespread impact, beyond the world of art.”

At the opening of ARTJOG, it was also announced the artists who received the Young Artist Award ARTJOGMMXII: Arts in Common - Expanding Awareness read by artist Titarubi. Twelve artists were nominated for the Young Artist Award with various judging criteria such as exploration of the medium, ways of interpreting event and object, the search and suspension of self-identity, the tension between subject and object, as well as contact with various disciplines outside of art or “nonartistic” practices which has changed perspectives or claims about what “art” is. The winner’s assessment is based on the suitability of the theme, exploration of the

medium’s exploration, and the novelty in technique and presentation. Based on this perspective, three artists were selected and won as the best works in the competition. ARFIAL ARSAD

Taking Inspiration From Everything Around

The local artist known for his naturalistic-decorative works of art, Arfial Arsad, celebrated his 72nd birthday with a solo exhibition that was held in NN Art Space Jati Karanganyar on the 11th -16th of July 2022. This exhibition saw him displaying pieces back from his high school days in 1968 and sketches from the time he was still studying in the Faculty of Art and Design in the prestigious Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 1972-1973, as well as his most recent pieces up until 2022.

Having been active in the art scene since 1974, Arfial has displayed his works of art up to 140 times, both locally and internationally including numerous ASEAN countries and Australia. He has also conducted 6 solo exhibitions, in Chase Manhattan Bank Jakarta (1988), Bandung Gallery (1991), Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakarta (2006), Indonesia National Gallery (2016), Bentara Budaya Balai Soedjatmoko Solo (2018), and the most recent one in NN Art Space Karanganyar Solo (2022).

Many of Arfial’s drawings and paintings have been purchased and made into a collection by a number of institutions like Indonesia National Gallery and Jakarta Arts Council, as well as personally by famous figures like Giok Budi Hartono and dr. Oei Hong Djien. One of his paintings has made the list as a MASTERPIECE by the Indonesian National Gallery in their book published in 2002.

In the 2016 solo exhibition in Indonesia’s National Gallery, Tubagus Andre Sukmana as the head of Indonesia’s National Gallery said, “Arfial Arsad is a senior figure as well as an educator in the field of art. His unparalleled experience and his stories has made him into what he is today which he shows in his art. Through his signature identity in his drawings, he has managed to consistently produce art of a high quality.” Most recently, in the exhibition held by Arfial to celebrate his birthday, some people also had a few things to say about him. NN Art Space itself in this exhibition called Humming Spirituality of Arfial Arsad Hakim’s Realm in Solo, Nanang Yulianto wrote, “ Mr. Arfial’s works in the form of sketches and drawings show human and nature figures using straight lines are expressive, effective, and substantive. While in painting many describe the atmosphere of the mountains and beaches that are quiet, calm, impressively contemplative, serene, peaceful, the consistency of distinctive and unique personal themes and styles has been tested by the long journey of time. Artificial Nature is the spirituality of nature which is not only written but more on what is implied and felt.”
