What God’s Word Teaches about

Salvation

1. What is sin? • “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and

doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17). • “All unrighteousness is sin” (1 John 5:17). Anything that is not right in God’s sight is sin.

4. How do I know God loves me? • “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only

begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). You can put your name in place of “the world” and “whosoever.” God loved you so much He sent His Son to die for you.

2. Who has sinned? • “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory

of God” (Romans 3:23). • “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). Every person who has ever lived has sinned.

5. How is sin taken away? • “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin

of the world” (John 1:29). • “The blood of Jesus Christ his [God’s] Son cleanseth

us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for your sin.

6. How can I become God’s child? • “But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he

3. What is the punishment for sin? • “The wages [payment] of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). • “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4). Death means separation from God forever in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14, 15).

power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). • “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be

saved” (Acts 16:31). You become God’s child by believing what the Bible says about your sin and what it says about Jesus taking the punishment for your sin. Eternal life as God’s child is God’s free gift when you believe.
