halco Hills Baptist Church—If I ask, What’s being planted in Nebraska? you might immediately think “corn.” According to the Nebraska Corn Board, the state is the third-largest producer of corn in the United States. But let’s get real; there are other things being planted in this great state. One of them is a Regular Baptist church. Pastor Blane Barfnecht—with the help and support of seasoned church planter Roger Ridley and sponsoring church Gretna Baptist—has begun a Pastor Bar fnecht and family

new work. A launch team made up of members from Gretna Baptist Church (Gretna, Nebraska) and students from Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa) have been canvassing the area with invitations, as well as helping to set up for each Sunday service. START-UP funds granted to the church from Baptist Builders Club are assisting this new work in its beginning stage. Pastor Barfnecht and the team have already held four monthly services and will start weekly meetings in March. Please join me in praying for this new work. Pastor Barfnecht shared these three prayer requests:

√ Continued unity √ Increase in visitors (and their salvation!) √ A solid core group to remain as launch team members complete their time

ith this contribution, I will have completed 50 years of support to the Baptist Builders Club. I first heard of the club at the Fall Missionary Conference during my sophomore year at Baptist Bible Seminary. After reading the brochure, the Lord laid upon my heart a desire to start contributing. At that time each call was for only $2.00, and seemed within the range of what a student could afford. A firm believer in establishing self-supporting churches, it has thrilled my heart to be a participant in this worthy en-

he Lord used M.O. Berman to plant ten churches and to rescue twelve other churches. His humble service and faithful teaching laid a solid foundation on which to build. He recognized the Lord’s ownership in those ministries, freely entrusting the churches into the Lord’s care and calling of the next pastor. It was on the backs of men like this that the GARBC was built. M.O. personified the essence of ministry as a helper of missionaries, mission churches, adults, and young people. He and his wife, Jean, raised a fine family who became servant-helpers as well. M.O. was loyally committed to our fellowship of churches. His life served as a role model for fellow pastors—one of glorifying Christ and drawing many to know the Savior. John Greening GARBC National Representative

Thank You fromThank You Michael

Please know that all who support Baptist Builders Club, whether with finances or prayer, are truly appreciated. I thank God that He has given you to assist BBC with its mission of helping churches. Over the past year the Baptist Builders Club membership list began to shrink. Economic woes and faithful supporters going to be with the Lord contributed to this decrease in membership. One other factor in this decline is the number of young Baptists who are unfamiliar with BBC. A lot of them do not know why BBC exists, or they have never even heard of it. This is quite alarming to me. I am making a plea to you to take the time to educate your church—young and older members

alike—about what BBC is and the important role it has played for many Regular Baptist churches. If you need literature or would like to schedule a BBC presentation, contact the ministry office. We can be reached by phone: 1-888-588-1600 ext. 803, or by e-mail: knolan@garbc.org. I would love to visit your church and share this great ministry. Again, thank you to those who have and are currently supporting Baptist Builders Club unwaveringly. God Bless, Michael Nolan Director
