On the Road Road

y family and I were recently able to share in the excitement of a Friend Day celebration service at New Life Baptist Church of Lake in the Hills, IL. It was an exciting time for the church. They had just finished a renovation project of their facility. One member told me they were adding the final touches just the night before the service was held. Months before this service I called and notified Pastor Wood that the BBC administrators had approved New Life’s application for a grant. He was grateful for the news. He told me of some problems they had encountered. He said the congregation was weary. The news that they had received the grant would give them the renewed strength that God knew they all needed.

Baptist Builders Club is glad to have been able to help New Life purchase some items to enhance the ministry God has given them. One of their purchases was coordinating chairs for the auditorium. Pastor Wood said, “It [the chairs] really gives a whole new

feel to the auditorium; it looks more like a church setting instead of a warehouse.” He continued, “It [the grant] was a wonderful boost to our people, and they are still talking about what a blessing it was.”

The other portion of the grant was used to upgrade their sound system. The remaining funds will be used to buy a portable baptistry. Now New Life Baptist Church will actually be able to hold a baptismal service at their own facility. Praise the Lord! It is amazing to see a church transform and to see what God can do in lives through the church. We truly believe that and are praying for 2008 to be a year full of victories for God through the ministry of BBC. Thanks for your continued support. BBC asked, “When your church receives the grant funds, what will it mean to them?” Pastor Roloff: “For Bible Baptist Church the financial grant from Baptist Builders Club has meant a great deal already. The news that we received the grant was a breath of fresh air, that there was hope for our church’s future, and other people believed that as much as we did.” BBC asked, “How will the grant funds help the church?”

Pastor Roloff: “The roof problems for this church have been an ongoing concern for at least the past ten years of its ministry. The funds from Baptist Builders Club will help us solve a most discouraging problem, a problem that undermined our church’s peace, our outreach, our financial health, and our vision for what the Lord might want to do with and through us in the coming years. These funds have helped our church get our feet back under us so that we could move forward again.”
Every time I hear a response like the one from Pastor Roloff, I am reminded of why God has allowed Baptist Builders Club to exist. That is to help churches like Bible Baptist in Cartersville, IL. God provides the donors and the resources that enable BBC to carry out that mission. Thank you to all of you who are part of what God is doing. A Note Note from Michael Before 2007 ended, I set a goal for the ministry of Baptist Builders Club to help nine sister churches by the end of 2008, in these categories: START UP
a church plant
BUILD UP
for rebuilding a structure or assisting a congregation in need of help for repair or building expansion
HELP UP
for a church that has experienced a fire, flood, or similar natural disaster
0 START UP church plants 2 BUILD UP church projects 0 HELP UP emergency projects (i.e., floods, fires) We are on the way to reaching the 2008 goal. BBC has five applicatons awaiting approval. One START UP and four BUILD UP. The needs of these churches total $75,000. As the BBC administrators prepare for the Spring meeting to discuss these needs, I ask for your prayers for the funds to be available and for the decision-making process. I am so thankful to you who support BBC, whether it is financially, with prayer, or both. If you are considering becoming a financial donor or a prayer partner, now is the perfect time.
