Grow a Crystal! What you need: 3 white chenille wires • yarn • pencil • wide mouth jar • boiling water • sugar • paper towel What you do: 1. Twist three chenille wires together in the middle to form a six-sided snowflake. 2. Tie one end of a length of yarn to the center of the snowflake, and the other end to a pencil. 3. With an adult’s help, boil water and pour it into the jar. 4. Stir about three cups of sugar into the boiling water until it stops dissolving. 5. Place the pencil across the top of the jar with the snowflake dangling into the sugar water. 6. Place a paper towel on top of the jar to keep dust away. 7. Set the jar in a safe place for a few days until the crystal grows.
