UNDERSTANDING GRACE By Nickie Mccoy

One of the most significant things to grasp and yet one of the most widely misunderstood things among our fellow believers concerning our salvation is grace. So many times as Christians we begin to mis-align our own thoughts and philosophies with the truth of what is written in the Word of God, and at times even allow the enemy to mislead us into

believing our own goodness and at times badness somehow makes us better than or even less than worthy of our salvation and the blessings of God. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23-24 KJV: For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

If we aren’t careful our wayward way of thinking can lead us to allowing the enemy to oppress us with religious spirits. This is why a regular self-evaluation or spirit check is helpful in maintaining a right mindset and humble heart when it comes to our salvation. We must always remember that it is only by His grace that we are saved, not by our works and not

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

by our own ‘holy living’. Although as children of God, we are not to abuse God’s grace with habitual sin but we are to make every effort to live holy and righteous lives pleasing to our father, The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV: For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. We must always remember that it is only because of the precious gift of salvation that we can wake up and be thankful each new day for a fresh dose of God’s grace and mercy. As we repent of our sins daily, both known and unknown, we are forgiven not because we are so deserving, but because God’s love for us runs so deep and eternal that even on our worst and most sinful days we were still loved with the same passion, forgive-

ness, and understanding as on the days we consider our best days. You see, God knows we have no power to live right on our own as fleshly humans, as even when we try our very best we are destined to fail at perfection, but we can thank God today because in 2 Corinthians 12:9-11 NIV it tells us: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. So now having captured the truth of His grace in our hearts we no longer have to live under the heavy weight of guilt, shame, and condemna-

tion. We no longer have to allow the enemy to use his tactics to make us feel less than worthy to walk boldly in the gifts and authority He has given us in Christ Jesus. Every day we can live in the freedom of our salvation as we continuously remember to cast down the lies of the enemy and fully embrace what the Word of God tells us in Romans 8:1 KJV: There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Today and every day we can choose to cast down any thoughts attempting to oppress us in our minds and spirits because we understand the truth of our salvation and God’s grace.

Ladies we may feel that we are ready for our future husband. We may feel we are physical ready but are we spiritual ready. Being a wife is not just about the looks or what you can do it’s about what can you give unto each other as you allow God to grow both of you and work through you. Are you honestly ready that you can endures the ups and downs of marriages the tri-

als and tribulations. Are you ready to become one with that person. Are you ready to fall in love. Are you ready to receive God best are you willing to wait on the lord. These are the steps that will lead you to your future husband and this is the bible verse that we must embedded into our heart 1Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not

arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

Don’t allow the enemy to continue to throw you men that will only lust after and they will hinder you hurt you and keep you from God best. You can bypass these fakes with the lord and these are the steps that will bless you and bring you to the Mr.Right and avoid Mr.wrong 1.Acknowledge God keep him first and everything will be added to you every desire everything you ask the lord he will do. For example the story job everything was taken from him he had very heavy trial and tribulations. But no matter what he went thru God still bless him even more because he didn’t acknowledge the storm but he acknowledged God and kept him first. 2. Ask God to remove the people in your life that is hindering you. 3. Ask God to help you understand your worth. So that you can remain pure to yourself stay pure in his eyes. You can do it may not be easy but it can be done with the help of God. You don’t want the unwanted hurts and pain and the ups and downs that come from leaning to your own understanding when it comes to relationships you don’t want the lust you want the love and you can only get it when you

allow God to be in charge of your love life. 4.Pray to God to prepare you to become the wife you need to be and not what you want to be or what you may think you needed to change yourself. Be a boss and take heed to what God has in store for your life. Allow yourself to wait on the lord and know that he hasn’t forgotten you nor left you .ladies the time is now to be a boss and being a boss means Believe that the promises God has for your life will happen don’t allow your faith to slip he hasn’t broken a promises yet so why should he break one now. Obey his words and live by his words he will not lead you to the wrong person nor will he lead your life down the wrong path. He has our life in the palm of his hands. So allow him to be our match maker he knows everything we like and don’t like. Surrender to the lord your everything. Surrender to him and your life will never be the same. It’s your time to start fresh it’s your time to be renew. Surrender to the lord plans

And you won’t regret that you did. He only wants the best for you as each father should want there daughter to have . Stop using excuses allow God to prep you to become the wife the girlfriend you needed to be . Don’t waste the time with the men you think is the one or. You might consider changing him to fit the title of a husband. No more excuses your husband is out there but you have to continue to have the faith and the patience to allow God do the job and be the match maker. And not you do the job for him. The question is are you a BOSS have you taken the steps above and really are ready for your Boaz. Father God I thank you for being the father you are you only want what’s best for us lord and I know when we walk with you we will see a happiness that we never thought exist. “DEAR DADDY, IT’S YOUR SON” By Shirley Cooper

We are born, we live, we die! No matter where we walk, how we talk, what we believe or not believe, we will eventually leave this earth the same way we came.

like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless.

(Ecclesiastes 3:19-20) Surely the fate of human beings is

All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to

dust all return. I’m sure that in knowing this, some of us tend to ask the question, “will we meet again?” Especially when its someone you held deep in your heart, whether it be a child, friend, sibling, or a parent. We are always wondering if we’ll ever see that person again.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

(Essclesiastes 3:19-20) seems that if reading that alone complicates those searching the answer to that one question. So while that question is tucked away in the back of our minds, we walk, at times wondering, where those we loved so dearly will be. I can’t help but think about my son in law, Jonathan who lost his father at the age of eight. I couldn’t imagine losing my daddy at the age of eight or watching my children grow without their’s. So while I sit here thinking about that deep question, “will we meet again?” I begin to tear up, because the thought of never seeing that one person ever again, helps me to continue my walk on that path to righteousness where eternal life begins. I grew up knowing that God existed, but never understood what a relationship with Christ meant. The day that my daddy went home to Jesus I knew that God directed him right back to me at the old age of 82, but I didn’t realize the in depth reason until my dad-

dy traveled to Florida from Philadelphia to be with me, leaving behind his home, his cars, and his clothes. He helped my husband get his business going and then bought me my very own home. One day he told me that he wasn’t sure if there was a heaven. He looked at me and asked, “what if there isn’t a heaven?” I looked back at him and said, “there is and when it’s time that’s where you’ll go!” In a way I was angry at him because, all this time he taught me about something he didn’t believe in himself. But later God swooped down like an eagle in flight and rescued him. In an instant my daddy was saved. I know that the peace I have embedded into this heart, is a reminder that my Father in heaven brought my daddy to my arms, because He was ready to bring him home. I know deeply how much this meant to me. Knowing, that I will one day be reunited with my daddy. Understanding that, helps me to understand the man that took my daughter’s hand in marriage to build a little family of his own. As any son, he wants nothing more than a father, son relationship, and I’m sure deep

down he searches for days for memories that he can record to play back in his mind whenever he needs a father’s touch. At eight years old, boys are learning so much. But I know that deep in his heart, just being able to learn how to tie his shoes with his dad, would have been the height of an amazing memory. Maybe going out to play ball, or playing hide and seek. How about his daddy tickling him under the covers? The reason why I am guessing his thoughts on a void relationship, is because that’s the daddy he’s become. He runs back and forth, chasing after three little boys. He’s become the dad, he once knew and cherished. But will he ever see his daddy again? Will he ever be able to share his life with the one man he misses most? The answer is yes! In the Old Testament, when a person died, the biblical writers said he was “gathered to his people” (Gen. 25:8; 35:29; 49:29; Num. 20:24; Judges 2:10). In 2 Samuel 12, when David’s infant child died, David said, “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” David believed he’d see his

11

12

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

child again. The New Testament indicates even more clearly that our identities will remain unchanged. While sharing the Passover meal with His disciples, Christ said, “Take this cup and divide it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes” (Luke 22:17-18). Christ was promising that He and His disciples would drink the fruit of the vine together again, in heaven. Jesus makes another promise in, (Matthew 8:11) “Many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.” Paul writes, “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Moses and Elijah appeared with Christ on the Mount. Even though it had been centuries since Moses died and Elijah was taken to heaven, they still maintained a clear identity (Matthew 17:3) three of the twelve disciples that were present with Jesus evidently recog-

nized them which says, that we will somehow be able to recognize people that we’ve never yet met. God’s promises are true to the very core, from beginning to end. For so many, going through different situations the power of Jesus conquers all things, making their struggles easier to live with. For some it’s healing, financial problems, school, relationships, etc. While for many, it’s the death of someone they just never wanted to let go of. Through many years of asking that same question, “will we meet again?” I have finally found my answer, and I didn’t have to Google it, research it, or leave it blank. I simply discovered it through Gods very own breath and God’s tool. Using my son, I found that a little boys endeavor for the truth, would be used to bring a lingering question to a halt! I’ve learned that when we close our eyes forever, those who left this earth as believers will find themselves not only in the presence of God, but in the presence of those who moved on and into eternal life. Those who have tran-

sitioned into the spiritual realm, will hold us once again. Today, my son in law is 28 years old. Far from the little boy his daddy once knew. A boy pressed to love his sons the way that He was and more. In all his wondering, he can finally put that question to rest. After reading this article my hope is to bring hope to that man that still dreams of being chased by his daddy, running through the park playing ball, and taking up space in the living room trying to build a fort. I’m not sure if these games were even in his thoughts, or if they were ever played by him and his dad. But I am sure of one thing. One day, this little boy will meet his daddy again, and there will no longer be wondering, dreaming, or asking the question, “will we meet again?” There won’t be an ounce of doubt, worry, or fear. Just two men reunited, one looking at the other and saying ...hello daddy, it’s your son!

THE INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM

General The integumentary system consists of the skin and its accessory structures-hair, nails, glands, muscles, and nerves. The skin is the largest organ of the body in surface area and weight. The principal parts of the skin are the epidermis (superficial) and dermis (deep). The subcutaneous layer (hypo-

dermis) is deep to the dermis and not part of the skin. It anchors the dermis to underlying tissues and organs. Epidermal ridges provide the basis for fingerprints and footprints. Epidermal Layer The types of cells in the epidermis are: KeratinocytesMelanocytesLangerhans cells-

Merkel cellsThe epidermal layers, from deep to superficial, are: stratum corneum stratum lucidum (in thick skin only) stratum granulosum stratum spinosum stratum basale Functions & Wound Healing Epidermal wounds are repaired by enlargement and

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

migration of basal cells, contact inhibition, and division of migrating and stationary basal cells. Deep Wound Healing: the inflammatory phase: a blood clot forms, epithelial cells migrate to the wound, increased blood flow enhances delivery of phagocytes, & mesenchymal cells develop into fibroblasts. the migratory phase: fibroblasts migrate & begin synthesizing collagen fibers and glycoproteins. the proliferative phase: there is extensive growth of epithelial cells. the maturation phase: the scab sloughs off, the epidermis is restored to normal thickness, collagen fibers become more organized, fibroblasts begin to disappear, & blood vessels are restored to normal. Skin functions include body temperature regulation, protection, sensation, excretion and absorption, & synthesis of vitamin D. The skin provides physical, chemical, and biological barriers that help protect the body. Cutaneous sensations include tactile sensations, thermal

sensations, & pain. Dermal Layer The dermis consists of papillary & reticular regions. The papillary region is composed of areolar connective tissue containing fine elastic fibers, dermal papillae, and Meissner corpuscles. The reticular region is composed of dense irregular connective tissue containing interlaced collagen and coarse elastic fibers, adipose tissue, hair follicles, nerves, sebaceous (oil) glands, & ducts of sudoriferous (sweat) glands. Accessory Structures Hair consists of a shaft (most of which is superficial to the surface), a root that penetrates the dermis, & a hair follicle. Associated with each hair follicle is a sebaceous (oil) gland, an arrector pili muscle, and a hair root plexus. New hairs develop from division of matrix cells in the bulb Skin glands Sebaceous (oil) glands: -usually connected to hair follicles; -absent in the palms and

15

soles; -produce sebum, which moistens hairs & waterproofs the skin Two types of sudoriferous (sweat) glands: Eccrine sweat glands have an extensive distribution; their ducts terminate at pores at the surface of the epidermis. Apocrine sweat glands are limited to the skin of the axilla, groin, and areolae; their ducts open into hair follicles. They begin functioning at puberty and are stimulated during emotional stress and sexual excitement. Mammary glands are specialized sudoriferous glands that secrete milk. Ceruminous glands are modified sudoriferous glands that secrete cerumen. They are found in the ear canal. Nails are hard, keratinized epidermal cells over the dorsal surfaces of the fingers and toes. The principal parts of a nail are the nail body, free edge, nail root, lunula, eponychium, & matrix. Cell division of the matrix cells produces new nails.

SATAN’S MASK: DECEPTION By Reynaldo Rodriguez

“The truth really does set us free,“ (John 8: 32), not only from the penalty of sin, but also from the consequences of wrong doing and emotions. This opens a number of subjects that we cannot pursue at this point, but the issue is clear: We need to have a commitment to truth—to saying about everything in our lives what God says about it. You can be sure that Satan will take every opportunity possible to encourage wrong responses to things that trouble us. He, in fact, is a master at suggesting a wrong response. This is all part of spiritual warfare. The sticky areas will vary from person to person. For some it is stewardship of money, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good

measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6: 38). For some it is a stewardship of the body, “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.” (1 Corinthians 6: 12). For others, it is honesty, “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” (Romans 12: 9 – 11). On and on the list could go on.

Since Satan primary tactic is deception, truth is an indispensable resource in resisting his attacks. The commitment to truth begins with the biblical and theological truth as revealed to us in the Scriptures. The revealed Word of God is the final authority for us in every area of life where the Word speaks. But there is another aspect of truth that is also critically important. That is to plan honesty. We have to say the truth to the Lord in prayer, about what is going on in our lives.” If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1: 9) “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4: 15 – 16). The word honesty goes hand to hand with another powerful word: integrity. Integrity is the ability to do what is right and correct even when no one is looking. Not because we are afraid of God, but yet because integrity is a vital part of a heart who freely love God above all things and integrity is the direct product, resolve, and result of such love. “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” “Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.” (Proverbs 22: 1; 4) Unfortunately, we, as a society, have become masters at not doing this. We have learned to play a game in church, a game that has just one rule: You don’t make me take off my mask and I won’t make you take off yours. If you grow up in a church group whose members are experts at mask wearing, you learn to do it pretty well yourself before realizing how counterproductive it is. The church ought to be a place where it is safe to be honest—a place where you can go to find help with the things that are really troubling you. The church is a hospital for the broken heart and soul, Remember Jesus words, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13: 35)

All too often this is not truth in the hearts of us as believers. Instead of finding safety and help in the church, we find other hurting people who don’t know what to do with their hurt except talk about them to others, avoid us, or just try to act as if there were no problem. It works like this. God will meet us only at the point of our honesty. He will not play the mask game with us. He will recognize our masks, but He will also say, “When you are ready to take off the mask and be honest about what is going on inside, I will be there to help you deal with it; but I cannot really help you until you take off the mask.” You cannot be right with God and not be real. If necessary, God may have you real in order to be right with Him. As the deceiver, Satan encourages mask wearing. He is the master of camouflage. He wears his own mask most of the time, Satan is expert at appearing as an “angel of light” or minister of righteousness. “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” (2 Corinthians 11: 13 – 15) And he encourages this behavior in those he is trying to influence. His purposes for us are served well by Christians who make a loud profession with the mask they wear while saying something quite

different with the un-Christian way they handle some areas of their lives. The technical term for this behavior is hypocrisy, and we all know what Jesus has to say about this from one of his encounters with the teachers of the law and Pharisees, “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are. (Abylene, Texas) “Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it.” (Matthew 23: 13 – 21) The Christian alternative to it is sincerity. But if I’m still on earth, that’s tomorrow’s story.

LEARN TO SEE WITH YOUR HEART THE THINGS YOUR EYES CANNOT By Reynaldo Rodriguez

First of Corinthians 13: 4 – 8, is a good measure of our spiritual maturity. Too often, however, the truth of the love chapter is in our minds but has not reached the level of Spirit taught truth—the kind of truth that changes how internally inside the mirrors of our soul and spirits we see ourselves, and the way we influence the external world surrounding us. Truth that does not transform us is truth that is not believed. Grace that is not life transformational is not grace at all. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not selfseeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” It is the idea behind the adage, “What you do holler so loud I can’t hear what you say.” This is a God—created and a God sustained world through love, mercy, and grace. If we do things God’s way in God’s world, God will be responsible for the results. If we do things our way in God’s world, we have to be responsible for the results. The battle for the mind begin right

here in the life of the believer. It is in the mind where we win, or we lose the battle. Too many times we do things our way and then want to blame God or the pastor for the results we obtain because the decisions we made. It doesn’t work that way. If we don’t act on the basis of what God has defined as truth (66 books of Genesis to Apocalypse, of the inspire Holy Scriptures and not only the ones I like), we will not get the product that God has defined as truth, and as a result we will not get the product that God planned when He gave us the truth. God is very used and ac-

customed with the “Adam element” we all carry inside our hearts as a result of our direct descend from our previews father: Adam. It seems in today’s modern world of the 21st century, many people wish not to take responsibility for their own actions. When confronted by the Almighty at the moment he was caught in his disobedience act, Adam made all kinds of excuses including charging God for the woman He gave him as a partner for him not to be lonely. (Genesis 2: 22). “Adam answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid. And he said, who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from? The man said, the woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” (Genesis 3: 10 - 12) Gratitude is a beautiful attitude that is borne inside of a heart that has being transformed by God’s grace. Gratitude was the least of the attitudes Adam elicited targeting his Creator as a result of charging and accusing God for his own act of disobedient betrayal. John in the book of Revelations describes the person responsible of accusing others, “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled

down.” (Revelations 12: 10), the effects of physical and spiritual death demanded a higher prize from Adam as a result of his act of disobedience. Paul in a spiritual Kodak moment takes a transcendent picture describing what happened next in the life of Adam, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6: 23) Too often we practice what someone has called “selective obedience.” That is to say, we have our list of spiritual truths that are in our comfort zone, and we readily obey those things. But there are other things that are outside our comfort zone, and we choose to act as if those things don’t exist or at least don’t apply to us. Our emotional responses to each other too often are in the latter category. As human culture we can sense when the others are asking truth questions about some potentially tension producing situation, when God’s counseling words portray for us to engage in truth with wisdom, “God will repay each person according to what they have done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for

the Gentile.” (Romans 2: 6 – 10) “The truth really does set us free,“ (John 8: 32), not only from the penalty of sin, but also from the consequences of wrong doing and emotions. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.

THE BATTLE FOR THE MIND By Reynaldo Rodriguez

The battle for the mind begin right here in the life of the believer. God’s relationship to the Christian believer is real. If what God says about us is to be the basis of our belief and attitude toward ourselves, we need to be sure that we know what God says. First of Corinthians 13 is a good measure of our spiritual maturity. Too often, however, the truth of the love chapter is in our minds but has not reached the level of Spirit taught truth—the kind of

truth that changes how we see ourselves and the way we behave. This lack of reality in our relationship with the Holy Spirit is also the reason we may feel powerless against our enemy. It is the Spirit who empowers us to know the truth in the first place and then to live out the truth in our daily walk. It is the Spirit taught truth that sets us free and enables us to resist the deceptions of our enemy. The relative un-

reality of the spirit world to most of us in the West applies not only to angels and the Holy Spirit. It carries to the evil supernatural world as well. We may have a theological knowledge about Satan and demons, but that knowledge does not often lead to functional in our relating to them. Our culture has adopted the idea of demonizing people and things, but the term has been reduced to a figure of speech,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

not a reference to reality. “Demons” are dealt with through the administration of powerful drugs and large doses of reason, not through the power of the Holy Spirit. Admittedly, we can go too far in seeing demons behind human problems and can ascribe to them more power and influence than they possess. Yet we can also go the other extreme and not see them anywhere or any time. I’m not speaking about proper use of medications or reason, but I am warning against trying to ignore in our daily living the role of evil spirits—the principalities and powers against which Paul says we “struggle” “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6: 12). The warning of the New Testament about this enemy need to be taken seriously. The battle for the mind

begin right here in the life of the believer. We have already noted that we have the capacity to hold truth intellectually without allowing that truth actually guide the way we live. We can fill our brains with information even true information but it may lead to pride, “Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up.” (1 Corinthians 8: 1) or to profession of faith without corresponding life change, “The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught” (Isaiah 29: 13), “Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” (Matthew 7: 20), ““Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on

the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.” (Matthew 23: 27). “But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds. Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” (James 2: 18) Truth that does not transform is truth that is not believed. Grace that is not life transformational, is not grace at all. It is the idea behind the adage, “What you do hollers so loud I can’t hear what you say.” This is a God—created and a God sustained world, if we do things God’s way, God will be responsible for the results. If we do things our way in God’s world, we have to be responsible for the results. The battle for the mind begin right here in the life of the believer. It is in the mind where we win, or we lose the battle.

In this revealing autobiography, you will read about a life and ministry that had been forged in the furnace of adversity. This story of triumph will encourage the parent who is interceding for their wayward child, the soul that is in desperate need of intervention and anyone in ministry who is on the verge of quitting. Kevin Bishop is concerned about our society and understands what this generation needs. Overcoming a life filled with satanic vices and violence, his ministry is built upon four basic principles: 1. Giving hope to the hopeless. 2. Offering healing to the hurting. 3. Showing love to the unloved. 4. Extending acceptance to those who have been discarded. “ He who has been forgiven much loves much (Luke 7:47). Kevin R. Bishop is the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and founder of Kevin Bishop Ministries, Inc. SINNER’S PRAYER

Jesus was crucified on the cross just for you! He suffered so much for your healing, sorrows, and sins. He went around doing every good work, healing people and casting out demons. He took thirty nine lashes. He wore a crown of thorns and his beard was plucked out! He was spat on, falsely accused, and beaten. Will you let him in your heart today? Take a few seconds and pray this short prayer. Your life will never be the same. Lord, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. Romans 10:9 says, “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. “I make you Lord and Savior of my life. Lord, I desire to have a relationship with you. Lord, I confess any sins of ___________. I repent Lord. Wash me in your blood in Jesus name Amen. Congratulations! If you read the above prayer, welcome to the body of Christ. The angels in heaven are rejoicing. Get connected to a local bible based church and get with someone who will hold you accountable. Your next step is to get baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 King James Version (KJV): Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

PROPHETIC ENCOURAGEMENT

These are the words giving to Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves by the Holy Spirit during her prayer time.

I seen war in Japan. Keep that country in prayer. Four benefits of putting your confidence in God 1) Boldly going to the throne. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” 2) Finished work. Philippians 1:6 says, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” 3) God hears your prayers. 1 John 5:14-15 says, “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he

hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” 4) Answered prayers. 1 John 3:21-22 says, “Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22 and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.” Six benefits of delighting yourself in the Lord 1) Desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” 2) Ride upon High Places. Isaiah 58:14 says, “then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the

heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” 3) Abundance of Peace. Psalm 37:11 says, “But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.” 4) Strength. Nehemiah 8:10 says, “Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” 5) Hope. Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

43

44

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

6) Direction. God will make known to you the paths of life. Psalm 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Twelve promises of the covenant of peace 1) Evil beasts to cease out the Land. God will eliminate harmful animals (enemies). Ezekiel 34:25 says, “I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild beasts from the land, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.” 2) Dwell safely. Ezekiel 34:25 says, “I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild beasts from the land, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.” 3) Sleep. Ezekiel 34:25 says, “I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild beasts from the land, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.” 4) Blessing. Ezekiel 34:26 says, “And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.” 5) Region will be blessed. Ezekiel 34:26 says, “And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.”

6) Latter rain in your season. Ezekiel 34:26 says, “And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.” Divine favor is coming on you. 7) In the wilderness you will produce fruit. You will be a tree of righteousness. Ezekiel 34:27 says, “And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them.” 8) Harvest time. Ezekiel 34:27 says, “And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them.” 9) Yokes are destroyed. Ezekiel 34:27 says, “And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them.” 10) Deliverance from the oppressor (enemy). Ezekiel 34:27 says, “And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I break the

bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them.” 11) Confidence in God. Ezekiel 34:30 says, “And they shall know that I am the Lord their God with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Lord God.” 12) You won’t be affected by famine. The economic crisis won’t affect you. Ezekiel 34:29 says, “And I will provide for them renowned plantations so that they shall no more be consumed with hunger in the land, and no longer suffer the reproach of the nations.” Fourteen promises of waiting on God 1) Renewed Strength. Isaiah 40:31 says, “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” 2) Soar. Isaiah 40:31 says, “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” 3) Endurance. Isaiah 40:31 says, “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” 4) Experience God’s goodness. Psalm 27:13-14 says, “I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord;

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Lamentations 3:25 says, “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” 5) Bless. Isaiah 30:18 says, “Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.” 6) Help. Psalm 33:20 says, “Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.” Proverbs 20:22 says, “Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.” 7) Protection. Psalm 33:20 says, “Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.” Zephaniah 3:8 says, “Therefore wait for me,” declares the Lord, “for the day when I rise up to seize the prey. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all my burning anger; for in the fire of my jealousy all the earth shall be consumed.”

8) Hope. Psalm 130:5-6 says, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.” Psalm 62:5 says, “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” 9) Inheritance. Psalm 37:34 says, “Wait for the Lord and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.” Psalm 37:39 says, “The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.” 10) Courage. Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord.” Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” 11) Heard prayers. Micah 7:7 says, “But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God

will hear me.” Psalm 40:1 says, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.” 12) Answered prayers. Isaiah 64:4 says, “From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.” Habakkuk 2:3 says, “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” 13) Training. Psalm 25:4-5 says, “Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” 14) Promotion. 1 Peter 5:6 says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”

TESTIMONIES: LET’S GIVE THE DEVIL A BLACK EYE! When we share our testimonies, our faith increases! We start to believe God for the impossible! We can see the power and the hand of God in any situation. God can turn any test into a testimony! We know if God did it before, he can do it again. Our testimonies glorify God!

Testimony: I called the prayer line hosted by Kimberly Hargraves and she prayed for me. I was having trouble with fibroids. Well God healed me of fibroids. God is so good. K I called into the prayer line early one Saturday morning. God gave prophetess Kimberly Hargraves, a word of knowledge. God allowed her to feel pain in the right side of her neck. Then she called out my exact pain. I was diagnosed at the doctor with thyroid cancer. As she started praying for me, I felt some-

thing in my neck and then I felt a warm cooling sensation all over me. I believe that I am healed for thyroid cancer. Hallelujah. Kaneisha During Saturday night, Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves was having a night watch call. As she was praying, she kept saying she felt pain in her left ankle. Then I spoke up and said that my mom was having pain in her left ankle and she can barely walk. We touched and agree at midnight and the next morning, my mom could miraculously walk and all the pain was gone. To God be the

glory. Keisha Ever since I started getting on the Saturday prayer calls, I have been uplifted and filled with joy. I thank God for this ministry. Sheena I have always been skeptical of prayer lines but for some reason, I felt led to call the prayer line hosted by Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves. I wanted to hang up but I couldn’t because the presence of the Lord was strong. My whole body was on fire and I got hot like I was having hot flashes. After I hung up from the call. I felt

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE APRIL 2016

the glory of God all that day. I felt so good and I am so glad that I called the prayer line. Rachel I sowed a $20 seed into Kimberly Hargraves ministries. One week passed, when I got an email from the Department of Education saying they received a payment of $930. I didn’t make a payment because I don’t have that type of money. I called the Department of Education and asked who made the payment and they replied that I did. Me and the lady went back and forth on the phone arguing whether or not I made the payment. I finally accepted that God made the payment for me. I remember, Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves giving me a word one week prior. She said as she prayed for me, she heard that I was about to get a debt elimination. I am so thankful that God heard my prayers. Rachel I purchased, “Obedience Is Key” written by Kimberly Hargraves. I couldn’t put the book down. It was like I couldn’t put the book down. It was like I could see her tears on every page. This book is really blessing my life. I was fasting when I got this book and in the middle of reading it, God spoke to me and told me to fast longer. So God allowed me to minister to my mom and showed me things, I knew absolutely nothing about. I started to prophesy after reading this book. Tomeya This morning as I watching Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves on periscope, I felt a release as she started praying. I felt a release as she started praying. I felt so good

afterwards and started to get dressed and head to church. I thank God for her life and her ministry. She is such an inspiration to many women. -Tonya I sowed a $20 seed into Kimberly Hargraves ministries. I had been trying to get the rest of the $600 to get my truck fixed. I had been praying about it and I went to DSS and they are going to pay $600 to my truck repairs. To God be the glory.-April Over the last couple of years, I went through the worst trial. My marriage of twenty years fell apart and ended in divorce. My husband left me for another woman. The house that we shared is now on the market and I have nowhere to go. I had been heartbroken because there are so many memories in that house. To make matters worse, my oldest son had gotten diagnosed with bone cancer. I had lost all hope. I didn’t understand why all this bad stuff was happening to our family. My son was no longer able to play hockey. He loves hockey. God told me to call Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves so I obeyed. I told my son that you have to get on this call and have Prophetess Kimberly pray for you. My son agreed. We went inside the car for a few minutes to place the call before we went inside the doctor’s office for his bone scan. When she prayed for him, he felt hot all over and felt heat on his knee. After prayer, we went back inside the doctor’s office to get the bone scan. After several days, the doctor called us into the office. He was scratching his head

because he said he had misdiagnosed my son. He said he wasn’t sure that it was cancer looking at the bone scans. I am so thankful that God healed my son. Now my son can go to college and continue to play hockey. My ex-husband was in shocked because God healed my son of cancer. Leila, GA I hadn’t sleep well in weeks. I was running on fumes. It didn’t matter how much I tried to rest, I was just so restless. I called the prayer line Saturday morning and Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves called out the spirit of insomnia. Instantly, I felt something break off me. Then I felt lighter and I felt a refreshing. I am now sleeping well at night. I thank God for giving Prophetess a word of knowledge about me. His presence and the anointing felt so good. Michelle I called into the prayer line Saturday morning. Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves prayed for me and I felt a lot of pressure being released. Immediately I began to cough. I believed that God healed and delivered me from my infirmities. James
