“The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” is a must read! When I started reading the first declaration, I could feel the fire of God, so I knew this book was anointed. Some of the declarations in this book are declarations that I either already speak or have spoken over myself, and there are other declarations in this book I felt were for me. I also appreciate Prophetess Kim’s testimonies in this book. The transparency she displays is encouraging because just like so many others (including myself ), Prophetess Kim did not see herself as being worthy enough to used by God, especially as a prophet. When God called Prophetess Kim to the office of a prophet, she felt that she was in a terrible state in her life, but being in that state was how she was able to trust and rely on God. When Prophetess Kim finally surrendered to God, He was able to use her more for His glory. “The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” is truly a blessing for me because it gives me the encouragement and boldness that I need to move in the prophetic without focusing on the distractions or objections from others who disagree with women operating in their God-given assignment. People will try to put limits on you, but when it comes to God, there are no limitations; Prophetess Kim makes that clear in this book. She challenges and breaks the barriers some people try to use against women operating in church, ministry, five-fold offices, etc. “The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” will inspire you to move forward in your assignment with the confidence in knowing that God has you, He is with you, and you have what it takes to carry out His purpose for your life, with or without the approval of others. Thank you, Prophetess Kim, for allowing God to use you to bring this much-needed book forward, blessings to you always! —LaShana Lloyd *** This book is very necessary! Women are misunderstood not only throughout the world as far as equality, but they are also misunderstood when it comes to God’s purpose in their lives. God mandated everyone, male or female, with a purpose. I’m so glad that this book described Biblical women that God uses continually throughout the Word of God as well as powerful testimonies from the writer, Prophetess Kimberly Moses. Being a student of the School of Prophets, Prophetess Kimberly imparts to her students, and we began to flow in dreams, visions, Word of knowledge, Word of Wisdom and increase of discerning of spirits. Her Love for people and God shows and is all in the fruit God does through Prophetess Kimberly. This book will bless you! — Anstrice Mcmillian Epps *** I enjoy reading books by Prophetess Kimberly Moses. She’s an amazing teacher of the Prophetic Ministry and an asset to the Body of Christ. This book will enlighten your understanding of the Women Prophets in Biblical times and help you to understand what women Prophets of today are dealing with. It will bring clarity of your own identity as a Prophet of God. I used to feel left out and different from the rest, until I found people that were just like myself. Her books are filled with wisdom; the knowledge you obtain from her books will stick with you. I had the pleasure of taking her course “School of the Prophets,” which was life-changing for me. I encourage anyone looking to fulfill the prophetic call on your life to take her course. You will never be the same. — Felecia Jackson

PASTOR CYNTHIA TIGNER FELIX Interviewed by Kimberly Moses Interviewer: I’m Kimberly. It’s nice to meet you. I’ve heard some great things about you from Gigi or Lavonda. She speaks very highly of you and she recommended that I interview you. If Gigi recommended you, then I’ll go ahead and reach out. Congratulations on your book? Is this your first book? How many books have you written? Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: This is my first book. The prophecy came seven years ago. It took me six years to get it done. It was a journey. I was just sharing my testimony and giving people an idea. A lot of times, they just see your title. They don’t know your story. I wanted people to understand, especially a lot of women, that I know where you’re at. I’ve been there and God brought me out. That’s why the book is called Midnight to Glory. I had a midnight that came to Glory because my purpose almost died in the streets. Interviewer: Jesus! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I was pregnant at thirteen. I had a baby at fourteen. I was pregnant again at sixteen and I left high school when I was pregnant with the third child. I finished high school being the first one in my family with the Tigner last name to accomplish that. My mama nor her siblings got a high school diploma. The grandkids before me didn’t get a high school diploma with the name Tigner, so I was the trailblazer. Interviewer: Amen! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I had those babies.

I was living on my own. I wanted to finish school. I had something to prove. My daddy’s side of the family is on the uppity side. They were educated people, so I had something to prove. Just because I had babies and was living on my own, doesn’t mean that I couldn’t finish this race. Interviewer: That’s right! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: So I did it for my family, for the Tigner. Now there are so many of us with high school diplomas. Interviewer: Amen! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: In the book, I got stabbed in the face with a screwdriver. Interviewer: What! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: The book talks about the life of a rebellious teen. In my teens, my mom told me one night, “Don’t leave my house, Cynthia.” I said, “Alright.” I was more afraid of the guy I was dating than my momma. He took me in the woods and he beat me and choked me with a belt. Interviewer: What! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I passed out. I was in my teens. Then he pulled up one night and told me to get in the car. I got in the car with him even though my momma said, “Don’t leave the house.” I went to a motel with him, and he had a girlfriend. He was seven years older than me and his girlfriend peeped in the

room and busted me upside of my head with a brick. Interviewer: Jesus! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I’m sitting there with blood running down my head on my temple. It was gashed up. The doctors wouldn’t see me because he wasn’t my guardian. So when my mom woke up that morning, she woke up to me with a patch over my forehead. I had to explain to her what happened and I caused it myself. Interviewer: Yeah. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: If I wasn’t being rebellious, I wouldn’t have gone through that

because she told me not to leave the house, but I did. I could have died and that was the second time I encountered death. One night I was fighting my cousin over my children’s father. He slept with me that morning but that night he had her in the car with him, in front of everybody. I approached her, with scissors in my hand and I had been drinking a little. I started a fight with her, but that wasn’t our first time fighting. I told her to get out of the car but she wouldn’t, so I started fighting her. She grabbed the first thing she could grab, and that was a screwdriver and it landed in my face. Interviewer: Jesus! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: In the corner of my eye, my left eye: it went up under my nostril and poked out of my jaw. Interviewer: My God! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: When they got me to the first hospital, they’d never seen anything like it, so they sent me to Savannah hospital. Savannah Hospital told me I was an inch from death. Interviewer: Jesus! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: That was my next encounter with death. I talk about a guy pulling a gun out on me because I wouldn’t have sex with him in my car. During those times of being in the streets, I encountered death so many times. That’s the reason why the book says, “My Purpose Almost Died.” I knew God had something great for me, but I didn’t know what it was. Interviewer: Wow! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I always told my friends I was going to be saved when I turned 30 years old, and God saved me when I was 28 years old. When I turned 30, I asked Him, “Why did you save me at 28?” He said, “Because you would not have made it to be 30!”

persevered, how I overcame, and how I got to where I am today.

Interviewer: Jesus! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I would not have given my life to Him at that time. The book just talks about my testimony, how I lived a promiscuous life, and how I lived a life with no morals. I sold drugs and I did whatever it took to survive, and for God to bring me out. I was a single mom of five children: four girls and one boy. One of my daughters I didn’t raise, but you wouldn’t think that because of how close we are today. I wrote that book to share my story: to let other women and other teenagers know that you can make it. When you have a purpose, the enemy will try to take your life because he knows that if you happen to go the way God is going to take you, he knows that you will be dangerous to his kingdom. Interviewer: Amen. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: He knows that. That’s why he doesn’t come to try to take you when you’re grown. He wants you when you’re young. That’s what the book is about: my story and letting people know how I

His girlfriend peeped in the room and busted me upside of my head with a brick.

Interviewer: Amen. That’s so beautiful. Just listening to your testimony, I know that it is going to bless so many people. I love your transparency. You are like a walking, talking, breathing miracle and I know that the Lord was and is with you. That encouraged me because I lived the fast lifestyle. I was a stripper for a little part of my life and I dated some crazy guys too. And one of the guys pulled a gun on me and he chased me around my city and that just took me back when you were telling your testimony. Even when you were not saved or living right, God still protected you from death. My God! That was powerful! Where can we get your book? Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: You can get the book on Amazon. Interviewer: Ok, awesome. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: Even with that, it came with trials, but I’m just glad that it’s out there. I’m so overwhelmed because people didn’t understand the cover. They didn’t understand because on the book cover, the picture that was chosen is the picture that was prophesied to me. I didn’t even know I was going to write a book and I put this picture on Facebook one day, and a prophet said, “I hope that’s your book cover.” At the time, the guy that did the photoshoot said, “I want to make you happy,” and that was my first time ever taking a photoshoot. He knew I was going through a bad break up in my marriage, so he just wanted to make me happy. So in this particular picture, I did not smile. The thing I was telling people, I said, “What you all must understand is that I was having a midnight!” We, in the body of Christ, we want to show everyone everything that’s beautiful, but we don’t want to show anyone our ugliness. We don’t want anyone to see that dark place that we were. I was saved, but I was in rage. In that picture, I was angry, and I was bitter, but the thing was, I did it to myself. When

you’re in a dark place, you can think about everything, and you think to yourself, “If I had just listened, I wouldn’t be in this place.” I was upset, and so that picture is my midnight. If you don’t have an eye to see, you would never understand it. The photoshoot is what shows the glory of God. I’m not that person I was seven years ago. I’m not that wounded woman. I’m not angry. I’m not bitter. I’m not full of rage. I’m talking about being saved and holy. I’m actually writing my second book, and I’m going to talk more about that picture and how that marriage had me as a saved woman. So many of us are walking around like that, but when are we going to be real? We have this thing now that we have to cover it up. We need to mask it. Put your mask down and tell people what you’re going through. When I was in the streets, it was no shame. Whatever I did, I did and there’s no way I am going to come over here to God and be ashamed. That’s the reason why my children understand why I wrote the book and they are ok with it. The guy that I am dating, my fiance, my future husband, he has read the book and is proud of me for being transparent. He is not ashamed of where I came from. As promiscuous as I was, he’s not tripping off of that. I want to help somebody who’s getting ready to get an abortion for the wrong reason. I was going to kill my child for a man; for the wrong reason. Come to find out, he was the only boy that I’ve ever carried. When I look at him, I just love him so much. I almost got rid of him for a man. That book is not a big book, but it gives you enough to know this is where I came from and this is what I have been through. Interviewer: You said you got saved at 28. Can you tell us more about the process when you got saved and how you got into ministry? Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: In 2001, I felt like that was the year. January that year, I went to Daytona for spring break. I went to Daytona and partied and met so many celebrities

He knew I was going through a bad break up in my marriage, so he just wanted to make me happy.

that year. In the summer of 2001, I had this big party but didn’t know that it was my last birthday party. My party was so big. I had to have it at the National Guard Armory. That’s how many people that would show up at my party. Interviewer: Wow! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: The club couldn’t hold my parties anymore. It was like that was the best year for me. When October came, I told my mom, “If I don’t change my life, I’m going to die.” I felt death. I was in a dark place. My mom had gotten saved. She hadn’t been saved that long, but I know it was her prayers. She was asking God to save me. I was running the streets, just running from city to city, doing whatever, and popping X pills. That’s the life I was living in 2001. So in October, I knew that if I didn’t change and get myself in a better place, I was going to die. So I left Hinesville

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2019

and moved back to Thomson, Georgia. In December 2001, I felt death like never before. Interviewer: Jesus! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I kept telling my momma, “I’ve got to change. I’ve got to change. Pray for me, momma. I’ve got to change.” At the beginning of 2001, I had a dream where I was a motivational speaker at a school. I was walking down the hallway with the students, and I looked so young that they thought I was a student. They knew they were going to have a motivational speaker but they didn’t know who it was. When they got all the kids in the cafeteria, I got on the stage. I said to the young girls, “Stop letting these young boys disrespect you and young men, stop disrespecting these young girls.” I woke up and was like, “Wow! What was that?” I mentioned it to one of my cousins. She said, “I can see you doing that.” I said, “Wow!” That was amazing.

So one night, a week before Christmas, I came home to go to a party at the club. While partying that night, God was talking to me. Interviewer: Jesus! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I was in a daze. My god-sister had come up and wanted to go dancing, so I went. I forget about the conversation that God was speaking to me about. I was looking paranoid, “I don’t even know who to talk to.” I went back home to Thomson. The Friday during Christmas weekend, there was going to be another big party. So, I changed my schedule so I could be off to come back home. On Friday night, I was helping this older lady who was like 90 years old in the bathroom. I was a CNA. She looked at me and said, “Baby, God just put another star on your crown.” I said, “I’m going to die!” Interviewer: What!

41

42

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2019

Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I was already seeing things. I wasn’t going to church. I don’t know what she was talking about. I said, “I’m going out of town the next day.” I thought, “I am going to die? I must be going to die. Why would she say that?” Interviewer: Right. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: So that Saturday, I’m headed home for this big party. My friend and I picked up my cousin, who was 6 or 7 years old. We were taking my cousin to his grandmother in our hometown before the Christmas party. So I’m playing this music that I should not have been playing by this girl named Tya, and my cousin said, “Cyn, you need to be saved.” Interviewer: Wow! Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I said, “Oh God.” I turned the music down. This little baby said, “Cyn, you need to be saved.” Interviewer: Amen. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I started laughing because of the words my young cousin spoke. When I got back to my cousin’s house, I couldn’t move out of the chair. Everybody kept calling my phone and saying, “Come on, man. I know you’re not going to miss this party. That’s what you came for.” Something happened to me that was so supernatural. I couldn’t move. I was so tired that I got in the bed. I tossed and turned that whole night. I woke up the next day and said to my cousin, “I’ll be back. I’m going to go to church.” Interviewer: Amen. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I went to go find out what happened at the party. Then I came back to the house. I said, “I ain’t going to no church at 12:30 and it ends at 1:30. I ain’t going.” My cousin looked at me and said, “It’s better to go than not to go.” I said, “Bump it.

I’m going to go.” I went to church and sat in the back of the church. My momma, grandma and my aunt that raised me was there. The pastor looked at me and asked, “Do you want some Christmas?” I said, “Yes.” He asked, “Are you sure you want some Christmas?” I said, “Yes.” I didn’t know what he was talking about. He said, “Well, come up.” He asked, “Do you want some Christmas?” I said, “Yes, I want it!” He asked, “So you want to be saved?” I said, “Yes!” Next thing I know, I was repenting of my sins and I bust out crying. I told a lady, “I don’t mind being saved, but I love my boyfriend.” She said, “I’m going to pray for y’all.” I knew that if I did not give God my life at that moment, I would have died in my sins. He was calling me. God sent the older lady to tell me what He was going to do. He told my little cousin to tell me that I need to be saved. He was talking to me in the club. He had already shown me that I was going to be a motiva-

tional speaker. He showed me these things, and I had a choice. Take heed, or I was going to die. The thing was if the pastor would have started off with, “Do you want to be saved?” I wouldn’t be on this phone with you. Interviewer: Jesus. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I would have rejected it. I would have rejected God. So I tell people, that’s why that pastor asked me if I wanted Christmas and I said yes. That’s how I got my salvation. Interviewer: Amen. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I had no choice. I was going to die. I felt the death! Interviewer: That’s so powerful! That reminds me of how I got saved. The only reason why I’m here is because my sister gave me a Bible and I put it in the passenger seat. Isn’t that something? You just know that you are about to die. You’re not even living right but you can feel it. God was definitely calling you. How did you get into Pastoring, getting a church? How did that happen? Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: Well, in 2012, I had married. First of all, my Pastor told me not to marry my ex-husband that was in prison. He told me to let him come out and be a man, get a job, and show himself worthy of me. I was rebellious. I didn’t want to hear anything. Even though I was saved, I still had the spirit of rebellion attached to me. I married him anyway. He gets out of prison and it wasn’t even a month before he called me and said he didn’t want the marriage. I’m living in Thomson, Georgia now. God uprooted me from my house. I was buying a house there and God uprooted me from my comfortable place. I didn’t know where I was going. I was going to resign from my job because I thought I was going with my husband. I left my job of 9 years. I figured I have my CNA license to fall on. When my mom came up for my daughter’s graduation in May, I said, “I don’t know

what God’s going to do.” My sister cleans houses for a a well-known Pastor in Hinesville. She said they’re hiring at their daycare. I told them what I had. I called them and I ended up being a supervisor. I asked God, “Why did you bring me back here?” He said, “Ministry.” I said, “Ministry? I could have done ministry there. Why did you bring me back here?” Every other weekend I went back, I went to this church, and this lady approached me and said, “Stand up.” She said, “Ministry is all around you,” and that God was calling me. He had already spoken it to me and He confirmed it through her. In November, I went to my leader and asked him, “What do you do when God is calling you?” He said, “Cynthia, you just stay right here.” I knew that God was talking to me. I knew God was calling me, so I humbled myself and did what my Bishop told me to do. In November 2012, I humbled myself. I went to my mom’s church and they had a revival that night and a prophet was there. They asked for a $40 seed. The Holy Spirit said, “No, don’t give that. Give something else,” and I did. He was about to go into the pulpit. He couldn’t even go all the way in, and turned around and said, “Young lady, stand up.” He said, “God said don’t worry about the people. You just get the paperwork.” I had a dream that I was working with an Apostle. I called my Bishop and told him it’s time for me to leave. I got with this Apostle. They prayed over me and they said, “Cynthia, we know you are going to do well.” From February, when my husband said he didn’t want the marriage, I’m going to show you the quick work that God had done. In March 2013, I did this conference called “Healing From Within.” My Apostle told me to get quiet because God wanted to speak to me. So I got in a quiet place and I heard the Spirit say, “I have given you the mantle of a Pastor.” I said, “A mantle of a Pastor? God, ain’t no way You are calling me to be no Pastor. Ain’t no way, God, I still got some stuff.” He said, “The more you preach, the more I’m going to deliver you.”

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2019

Interviewer: Amen. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I still didn’t understand why God would call me. I had some stuff on the inside that needed deliverance. He said that He was calling me as a pastor. During this time, I didn’t like my pastor. I didn’t like his demeanor because he was in authority. I had problems with men in authority. I didn’t like my daddy or my granddaddy. He was my cousin. I didn’t know what God was preparing me for. I was an evangelist and people were inviting me to come speak. My apostle knew that I was a pastor. I’m going to tell you what happened one day. Everybody in the church and the intercessors knew that I was a pastor. They started praying unto God for him to release me. Between June and July 2013, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “I want the ministry in Hinesville up and running by December.” I said, “I can’t ordain myself as no pastor. He has to do that.” The intercessors knew that and they were praying. This one particular day, the pastor leaves me at the church. All the leaders weren’t there. My pastor called me at the last minute. I was only supposed to teach Sunday school. He said, “I’m not going to be there and the other leaders aren’t as well. I need you to preach for me.” I felt like I wasn’t prepared to preach. I had to do the worship. I had to take up the offering. I had to do Sunday school. I had to do the service. It was all a setup. I didn’t know that. After I did that, I was mad because the pastor did that. I went to attend another local church because I was mad. I didn’t tell my pastor and told him that I was going to go see my Bishop. When my pastor found out, he said, “You are searching for something that you have already got. You can’t go out and preach anywhere.” The pastor took away what I had loved to do. I had speaking engagements. He said, “Until I release you, you can’t go out to preach anywhere.” I humbled myself in his ministry and did what I needed to do.

I thought, “I “ am going to die? I must be going to die. Why would she say that?”

One day at the end of September, the pastor and his wife called me. They said, “It’s time to step into the deep. You need to go and find a place where you can rent so you can start pastoring.” In November 2013, a year later, after my other pastor told me to sit and wait, I got ordained as a pastor. I started off with my four children and two other members. I started off in the project complex. Then I moved over to a building where it was a club at night and church on Sunday. I stayed there for a couple of months. God said, “There is a building. You have to find it.” My apostle and administrator confirmed it. My administrator went looking on craigslist. I saved money and got into the building. I’ve been in the building for five years. My ministry is called, “Apostolic Healing from within Deliverance Outreach Ministries.” You will never walk in true deliverance until you are healed from the inside. Interviewer: Amen. How did you overcome divorce? I went through a divorce and it was hard for me. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: I was mad at God. He called me for ministry and now I have to do it by myself. I started off pastoring mad because I was going through a separation. My ex-husband would call me and want to fuss.

I moved over to a building where it was a club at night and church on Sunday. I stayed there for a couple of months.

He would say if I don’t come to Ohio where he was, then he was going to divorce me. I knew that Georgia is where I was called. I had been through so many broken relationships. I didn’t fall in love with ministry for awhile. I overcame divorce because of pride. I told myself that I was okay. I was preaching in hurt and bitterness. I would say, “You don’t have to let anyone know that you are hurting and they got the best of you. Don’t you dare walk out the door looking like you have a sad story. ” This was the best advice that my daddy would give me. He said put on your King pride. King is my daddy’s last name. “Get a divorce and go on.” I put on my King pride until one day I told God that I’m mad. I went to church and I screamed and hollered. “I’m angry God! You called me to pastor! You know that I have this issue!” I needed healing and deliverance from molestation. I told God that I wasn’t ready to pastor. Then one day, I broke down and released all the pride to God.

Interviewer: Amen. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: Pride will tell you not to put up with something. So now, when women come to me and are about to walk away from their marriage, I tell them how much I suffered because I didn’t fight for my marriage. You don’t want to be out here as a single anointed woman of God and keep running across these men that don’t mean you any good. You are going to wish you fought for your marriage. Some of these men just want to sleep with you and go on. I tell women to fight for their marriage. Now I fight for other people’s marriages. Interviewer: Do you have any closing words? Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: The day that I was honest with myself was the day I could move on. When I began to deal with what happened to me, then I was able to walk in healing from within. I had to deal with the old in order to walk in the new. I had to deal with every midnight that I had even from my mother’s womb because she carried me with the spirit of rage and anger, so I came out with it. Pride almost took me out because pride makes you feel like you have to prove something to someone. You must deal with what is going on in the inside of you. This is the only way to have victory and to overcome. You must deal with the hurt and pain to walk in wholeness. Interviewer: Thank you so much for this awesome interview because I know it’s going to bless a lot of people. Pastor Cynthia Tigner Felix: Thank you so much for having me.

THE CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS Shirley Cooper

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) CHRISTmas time is always a special time for most everyone, especially for followers of Jesus Christ. CHRISTmas is celebrated all across the globe in many ways.

was quite young, under five years old that is. CHRISTmas Eve was a biggy for our family: heating up the oven at 6 am CHRISTmas eve, cooking up a big ole’ fat turkey, an incredible, mouthwatering beef rib roast and a pork shoulder roast, soups, rice, potatoes, Filipino foods, Puerto Rican cuisines, mad desserts, fruits, veggies, and so much more. That tradition has been carried down to my children.

I do remember celebrating CHRISTmas in Puerto Rico with my family even though I

fold. Opening one gift and then playing and eating all night almost until CHRISTmas Day. Then, on CHRISTmas day it was on again. The party continues. My parents would enjoy their wine and rum and coke (coca cola), a drink mix too crazy to forget, in glasses made of crystal and gold. My mom would pull out her once a year Chinaware and beautiful decor. Of course not allowing us to touch a thing, and I say that with a smile. She wanted everything to be perfect because after all, company was on their way. My parents never had a dull CHRISTmas and neither have we, my children, grand-children, hubby and I. Every time I remember those days, I cannot help but think that CHRISTmas was an amazing time for me. Aside from the many gifts that were placed under our tree, it was a day that old, young, believers, nonbelievers, churched, and unchurched people loved with an effort you just don’t see every day. When we look deeper into CHRISTmas, we find that the typical story we hear could be exaggerated some or rearranged `a little. “It’s about 2000 years ago, the evening of December 25, when Mary rides into Bethlehem on a donkey, urgently needing to deliver her baby. Although it’s an emergency, all the innkeepers turn them away. So they deliver baby Jesus in a stable. Then angels sing to the shepherds. Afterwards, they all join three kings with camels in worshipping the quiet, newborn.” However, scripture doesn’t tell it like this at all. The events surrounding Jesus’ birth don’t read like that at all. Clever though and truly enticing if you ask me. To say that Mary rode in on a donkey is believable, but the fact that it was never mentioned how she rode in makes it an almost made up ride. Was Jesus really born in a stable? Or was He born in a barn, a cave, or just some ditch along the way? The facts lay in between the pages of God’s manual, but the lie is nowhere to be found in scripture. The CHRISTmas story

“ CHRISTmas

is remembered everywhere before Halloween ever hits the stores. Around Thanksgiving CHRISTmas trees are placed beautifully in many windows, whether the homeowners are believers or not. The CHRISTmas spirit is the only spirit that can move someone quickly from hate to love in seconds, filling them with welp, The CHRISTmas spirit, which if you ask me, is the Holy Spirit at work. It is known that some Historians believe that Jesus’ birth was in September, and being that September is my birthday, I find it hard to argue that find. However, some may not agree. No matter, the truth is hidden between the pages of God’s handy work in that great love story of His. Regardless of what we believe or not. We do celebrate CHRISTmas every December 25th, we do begin cooking at 6 am CHRISTmas Eve and we almost always celebrate this time of year with a joy deep in our hearts that no one can tame. We suddenly get excited. We are driven to do things that we normally would not do. Some of us hate CHRISTmas, while most of us love it. Majority rules. Those in favor of this wonderful time of year have already packed up their gifts, drew up their menus, made their naughty and nice list, grabbed their new bibles for CHRISTmas day church, sent out their cards, and planned out their CHRISTmas morning events. The unconditional, uncontrolled love that people lack all year round suits itself up for that one day where reindeer fly, a fat man gives, coal is dispensed, poinsettias are used as decor, snow is prayed for, and candy canes are eaten generously. It’s a day where Jesus is remembered by so many that live without Him outside of December 25th. A day that grumpy old men become loving souls and miserable people find peace. So as I write all this down, I cannot help but relish in the fact

that it doesn’t matter what date Jesus was born. As long as we know that He came for a purpose, lived with us, and loved us enough to allow His own life to be taken in place of ours so that we could be forgiven. While some of us are planted in searching deeper for this date, most of us are in search of His amazing love. A love that if shared all over the world and will eventually bring unity to a divided world. All those CHRISTmas Eve’s and days spent with my family cannot be shoved under the rug because of a date that we’re not sure of. The memories clearly show and teach that someone special was born and we are to raise and praise His holy name forever more. Before I wrap this up let me place a pretty bow on top with this final note. The scriptures say that all Kings should fall down before Him, and all nations serve Him. That is a biblical command. Jesus’s birthday may not be correctly recorded, but God’s commands are, which is good enough for me. Praises to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. May all kings fall down before him, all nations serve him! (Psalms 72:11)

“ Some of us

hate CHRISTmas, while most of us love it. Majority rules.

LIGHTNING STRIKES Kimberly Moses

Since I’ve been in ministry, I noticed that there are seasons of rest, and there are seasons where I encountered warfare. Every time that the Lord expands my ministry, I face demonic opposition such as witches trying to come against me, persecution for standing up for righteousness, or betrayal from people who I thought were for me. I learned to stay on my face or pray more than usual. One day, I went to check my PO BOX as usual, and I received some hate mail. The letter was written by a witch who tried to curse my family and I. I shredded the letter, sent the curses back to the sender, and prayed that the witch would die (Ex. 22:18). When I prayed, the Lord opened my eyes to see in the spirit, and I heard a name. When I looked up the lady up on Facebook, I knew exactly who she was.

Around this time, I had a dream. In the dream, I saw a bunch of demons trying to attack me. The demons were short in stature and appeared to look like little trolls. Their complexion was grayish in tone, and their hair was wild. They had long arms and sharp fingernails. They were surrounding me, and I was standing in the middle of a dark room. There was a golden Bible, and I was ripping out its pages to eat one page at a time. Every time I ate a page, lighting would come out of my pores, shoot down my fingers, and blast one of those demons. I could see electric currents all over my body as I was eating the pages in the Bible. I was amazed at what I was seeing. So I lifted my hands, and a huge lighting bolt came out of my hands. The bolt hit one of the

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2019

demons that was trying to get close to me. The demon tumbled over as he fell backward. I discovered that I had power in my hands to throw lightning strikes at the enemy. When I woke up, I knew that this dream was confirmation that the Lord was going to protect me, but I had to eat, digest (meditate), and get in His Word. Jeremiah 15:16 says, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them.” The Word of God is powerful because it is the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). No matter how the devil was trying to attack me, he couldn’t touch me. I immediately searched the Bible for lightning strikes. Job 36:32 (NASB) says, “He covers His hands with the lightning, And commands it to strike the mark.” I was able to find a Scripture with lightning coming out of hands and striking the target. When God sends His lightning strikes, it will hit the bull’s eye every time. I also discovered the reason why the demons in my dream were tumbling and falling over backwards. Psalm 144:6 says, “Flash forth lightning and scatter them.” Lightning strikes scatter the enemy. When the Lord gave me this revelation, I did my weekly YouTube broadcast, “Monday Motivation.” The prophetic word blessed many people, and I used Lightning strikes as a prayer strategy. As I began to pray these Scriptures, the warfare that was coming against me ceased. Jesus is Lord. God truly protects His children.

“ In the dream,

I saw a bunch of demons trying to attack me. The demons were short in stature and appeared to look like little trolls.

I decree and declare that I will not allow the enemy to intimate me in Jesus’ name.

Lord, bless me to rest in Your presence.

Lord, give me boldness as never before to confront my enemies in Jesus’ name.

Lord, expose every hidden demon that is coming against me in Jesus’ name.

Lord, show me the source of any demonic attacks in Jesus’ name.

I decree that every witch and warlock that is coming against me will die by fire in Jesus name.

Lord, give me warning dreams and bless me to interpret them accurately.

Lord, You said suffer not a witch to live. Demonstrate Your Word now! I am blessed for being persecuted for righteousness.

Thank You, Lord, for always protecting me. I prophesy that none of the hairs on my head will be harmed in Jesus’ name. I decree that I will eat the Word of God.

I decree that I will become so full of the Word of God that I operate at a higher level of deliverance. Lord, bless every Scripture that I meditated on to come back to my remembrance at the right time.

I bind up all the terrors of the night in Jesus’s name. I decree that all portals to hell in my life are sealed with the blood of Jesus’ Christ. Lord, put a bloodline between the enemy and me in Jesus’ name.

I decree that the Word of God is alive, and it’s working for me.

Lord, shield me from demonic attacks in Jesus’ name.

I decree that the Word of God is powerful, and as I pray it, it’s doing damage to the enemy’s camp.

Lord, let Your power flow through me and bless me to walk in the authority of Jesus’ Christ.

Lord, let every demon that is coming against me stumble and fall in Jesus’ name.

Lord, increase my desire to pray and spend time in Your presence.

Lord, make the enemy’s path dark and slippery in Jesus’ name. I decree that I will always have the Sword of the Spirit and be prepared to fight. Lord, use my hands for war and train me how to flow with Your Spirit. Lord, send Your lightning strikes and demolish all my spiritual enemies. Lord, send Your lightning strikes and scatter all my spiritual enemies. Lord, send Your lightning strikes and hit the target in Jesus’ name. Lord, send Your lightning strikes and destroy every demon that tries to hinder my destiny in Jesus’ name. Lord, bless me with life-changing revelation in Jesus’ name. Let God arise, and His enemies are scattered. Lord, bless me to have sweet sleep during the night.

ate a page, lighting would come out of my pores, shoot down my fingers, and blast one of those demons.

JESUS IS LOVE, THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! Misha Wesley

This time of year brings so many mixed emotions and feelings. While some are scrambling to buy the best gift for their precious loved ones or close friends, decorating their trees with the best ornaments, and catching flights from across the country to spend the holidays with friends and family they haven’t seen all year, there are some who are sad, lonely, depressed, oppressed, scared, hopeless, and afraid. For some, the reality of loneli-

ness sets in and causes suicidal thoughts or actions, especially for those abandoned or spending the holidays alone for the first time in years. So, how can this be? That there are some having joyous times, while others are hopeless? God brought the most precious gift that some will forever search for endlessly and tirelessly trying to find and that gift is LOVE.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2019

This time of year brings so many into turmoil and sadness because many have a false perception of love and giving, and lack three vital keys necessary for every believer to have: a strong prayer life, a fasting life, and a relationship with the Father. The special love of Christ is the love only He can give and the joy only having a strong relationship with Him can bring. In order to understand God’s love, I encourage a RELATIONSHIP with the Father, and INTIMACY with Him. How can we get to know anyone if we are not intimate with them? When I say intimate, do not misunderstand this for some sexual thing. God’s love is above all things! If you love your spouse you will be INTIMATE with them. When you love your best friend, you tell them deep secrets no one else knows of. Many know Christ in their mind, but we need to know him in our hearts because His love is transformational. The deeper we go, the more we are transformed! Therefore, in order to know what love is, we must know God the Father. God is love and love is of God and those who do not love God properly cannot love you properly. To show love, we must have love in us. True love is SELFLESS, and that, my dear friends, can only come from Christ. John 3:16 is a familiar verse we know: God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten son. This verse is clear that God loves the world. He loves us so much that He gave us His son, which is Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Holy One, that shed His blood for every sin committed and for every generational curse to be broken off of our lives. He bared the weight of every burden and endured every single struggle and loss we go through today.

“For some, the

reality of loneliness sets in and causes suicidal thoughts or actions, especially for those abandoned or spending the holidays alone for the first time in years.

It all started with the sacrificial love. God’s love for us allows us to be remade and transformed from our sinful nature into His image which is holy and righteous. The word sacrifice means to give something up of deep value in order to help another person.

SACRIFICE on the cross! Luke 6:35 says that we must lend without expecting to be repaid anything in return. The word lend means to give freely, and the word repaid is to be given back for what you gave in the first place. When we love, we must understand that we don’t need anything back in return and if we do this, God says our reward will be very great!

When Jesus died He made the ULTIMATE

During this time of year, some people are so

65

66

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2019

consumed with buying gifts, spending money and racking up unnecessary debt that they fail to consider what this season is all about, they fail to consider those who do not have, and they fail to love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 says, three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. We may have all the money in the world to buy all the material things, but if we do not have love we have nothing. I’m not saying just love those around you, but true love, God’s love, is loving those who do not love us. Therefore, that is something only having Christ’s spirit can help us do. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) Love must be sincere (Romans 12:9), so we must give freely as God gives this time of year. Some try to find love, seek love, maybe even google the definition of what it means. However, through endless attempts in seeking love from people, many will become consistently disappointed, let down, hurt, crushed, and rejected. This season can cause people to suffer severely from rejection and self-rejection. Rejection can cause the host to build up walls of protection around the heart as a defense mechanism to keep people out because of the fear of being hurt. Some can literally barricade themselves in a world of loneliness, isolation and depression. This self-medicating is not showing love to yourself. Lacking to allow Jesus to heal our heart and show us what love is can lead to one being unable to give or show love; it can even cause a lack of identity. Don’t try to compensate for the lack of love, lack of identity, and the lack of truth. As you develop a relationship with Christ and grow closer to Him, He will grow closer to you. By

developing a relationship with Christ, you can truly discover His intimacy and find your identity through an understanding of his life. Some of our own problems come from a root cause of fear and anxiety. These work hand and hand to cause oppression and depression to the mind, body, and soul, but you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him (Acts 10:38). The reality of this, the same Holy Spirit that God anointed Jesus with, rests on you and me! You know that means we have power to OVERCOME! Jesus showed His love for us when He died for us on the cross, taking along with Him was those spirits of worry, stress, anxiety, depression and oppression, loneliness, rejection, and self-rejection. We don’t have to worry about what is going on around us because that is all a DISTRACTION to STEAL our joy, Worship and love to praise GOD, but we should know when we keep our eyes fixed on JESUS, He loves us and He gives us mercy and grace. We have hope and faith! We can rest in him because He is in us! GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD (1 John 4:4). We may live in this world, but we surely are not of this world because JESUS ALREADY OVERCAME the WORLD! This season we should focus on knowing the love of Christ and what Hs mission here on earth was to accomplish. And we know, my dear friends, that this mission is already done!

WINTER CARE FOR NATURAL HAIR By Keiyia JOYet George

It’s that time of year. You know, ‘...the most wonderful time, of the year...’ But your hair is dreading this time of year. Your mane has changed to the lyrics to ‘...it’s the most, driest time of the year...’ (Note: most, driest to stress the word DRY!) Without getting into the science of it (maybe we will one day), depending on where you live, this is indeed the time of year your hair hates the most (excluding those in dry, dessert places). With the heater cranked up, and the air super

chilled, there is no moisture in the air inside or outside your homes. The heater has dried out what you had inside. The cold weather has a little moisture, but what it has condenses before it’s usable (ok, got a little sciency there). So what’s a girl to do with her hair during this season! Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize! Did I say moisturize? That’s your answer. And I don’t mean wash your hair daily to saturate it with water. Frequent washing will only further dry out your beautiful mane. So what’s a girl to do?!?!

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2019

Well, first you’re going to calm down and not panic. It’s not as hard as you think. Here are a few tips to help care for your hair during this winter season. First and most important, you are going to moisturize your hair. I won’t get into what products to use, what concoction to make or even what methods to follow. Depending on your hair porosity and type, the answer varies. Maybe we can cover that another time. But if you are accustomed to moisturizing your hair 1-2 times a week, during the winter months you may need to double or even triple that. The more you manipulate your hair or wear it uncovered, the more moisture you will need to add back into it. Do a self check. Does your hair feel brittle? Like hay? Coarser than normal? Then knock the moisturizing up a notch. As mentioned earlier, moisturizing your hair does not mean washing more than normal. For those who wash daily, opt for three days a week. If you wash three times a week, opt for one or two times. But whatever you do, do not wash more frequently during the winter months. Frequent washing will only dry your hair out more and sabotage any efforts made to retain your locks this winter. Instead, lightly mist your hair with water or water based products (water is the best absorbed ‘product’ your hair will ever use). After misting, seal the moisture in with either an oil or cream, or both. Again, find what works for you. Tuck those end! The ends of your hair are the oldest parts. They are more prone to breakage and tearing. When extra dry, the easily get caught in fabric or anything that rubs against it (including tree branches. So I’m the only one who’s had her hair accosted by tree branches...?). Your shirts and top covering are your hair’s worst enemy. The headrest of your vehicle is in the top ten list. Basically anything during this season that rubs against it is a potential enemy to your hair. But what if you have shorter hair that never rubs against anything?

Well honey, air alone will cause you damage. Have you ever sat something out and just left it there? Untouched? When you went back to it, depending on the material, oxidation has taken place and that ol’ oxygen enemy has hit with an unexpected low blow. The same is true of your hair. Especially your sacred ends. If you have length goals, the winter months are not the months to allow those ends to be exposed. So tuck them, pin them, or whatever you need to do, but do not leave those precious babies hanging loose. Low maintenance and protective styles are the way to go. What about a cute hat or silk or satin scarf? By using these, your entire head is protected and covered out of the harsh, winter elements (don’t we wish our sinuses could have a hat too). You can be stylish with them s well. The only thing I’ve ever enjoyed about winter months is being extra stylish in my winter wear. Picture me...strutting across the courtyard in my thigh high boots...ahem. Yes. Be stylish during this season with hats and scarves and keep your locks protected. Thankfully, where I live never gets wintry cold. I hate cold weather!!! If you’re fortunate enough to move to a warm climate like I did, well high five!!!! For those who still suffer (unless that’s your thing) through cold, dry winter days, well I say if you don’t want to end up cutting off the lengths you’ve grown over the cold months, then make sure you spend some time giving your hair some extra tender, loving care this season. As always, Keiyia JOYet George www.justmekjg.com
