Thank you, man of God, Tron Moses for doing this and thank you Prophetess Kimberly Moses for sharing your heart to the Father, with the world. The CD is such a blessing; it immediately took my children and me into the presence of God and shifted the atmosphere in my home last night. I felt His supernatural strength come on me. I did not want to go to sleep. I just wanted to stay up in His presence. We rested in His presence. To you be all the Glory Father.-Rhasheeda I listened to the prayer CD three times already since I purchased it yesterday. I will play it in my room at night while we sleep.-Kentia

TESTIMONIES: LET’S GIVE THE DEVIL A BLACK EYE!

When we share our testimonies, our faith increases! We start to believe God for the impossible! We can see the power and the hand of God in any situation. God can turn any test into a testimony! We know if God did it before, he can do it again. Our Testimonies glorify God!

God has healed me from heart palpitations! Thank you, Lord, and thank you to Prophetess Kimberly for your ministry! Hello Prophetess Kimberly, I would first like to start this testimony by saying you prophesied to me during the praying for husband’s prayer call. You said that my husband would deeply apologize to me. He did but not deeply and sincerely. However, on March 28th, he apologized, and it had me in tears. I have been having troubles since the end of the Faith prayer series going into deliverance. I’ve been purging ever since. I’ve experienced the worst

attacks to the point that I ended up putting anointing oil in my water which made me purge harder. Every time I would see different spirits of people trying to attack me. I said, “God, please do something because I’ve been dealing with people picking with me just for being present or smiling since childhood. On March 29, 2019, God answered my prayer. I began shaking extremely hard like never before, and fire began to come over me from head to toe. I said, “Jesus, I will rest in your presence.” I got received a healed heart and deliverance from the fact that I would have to prepare my mind for people to react in a horrible way. Though they do, God just wants me to literally think of it as it doesn’t

matter. If I keep my mouth closed and mind my business, I will treat them just like I would anyone else which is kind and loving. This is a forever learning process as I walk with Christ. I’ve learned its better to immediately pray for an enemy and be free and stay free in Jesus’ name. I want to thank you Prophetess for always pouring into souls and I will continue to pray for you and your family. –Shavonda Hello woman of God. The call was fire today! I thank God that I am connected. About three weeks ago, I asked for prayer for my chronic yeast infection issue that I had every single day. Tuesday, you asked us to lay hands on ourselves. I am healed. I have not had any symptoms in four days. God is good! It feel good to not have to deal with it every day, making me feel uncomfortable. God bless you! Have a good weekend!—Anonymous I can’t stop humming, “I want to know you.” When you said that God is searching the earth for hearts that are faithful to Him, that took me all the way in to ugly praise and worship. My God! I want to know him. I’m on the phone with the IRS trying to get my taxes released. They said I was randomly picked for review. I’m not working anymore due to school and I was going to use that money to hold us up. Good morning. So, I got everything fixed with the IRS, and I will get $1000 more than before. She told me it would decrease, but it increased. I felt something break in the spirit realm when I was playing and praying your CD yesterday. I had to hold on to my faith. – Lavonda Good morning Prophetess Kim, I’m at the dealership right now. You prayed for me on Monday, that I would receive

favor about my car, and I did! I paid to get an engine oil leak fixed two months ago, with another dealership but it either wasn’t fixed, or it wasn’t fixed correctly. I was told that this would cost me $3,000, but I was told that it was going to be written off as a warranty issue so I don’t have to pay anything for this. The only thing I have to pay is $11 for them to look at my car so I’ll take $11 over $3000. Thank you so much for your prayers, I love and appreciate you so much!!—LaShana Since I connected with this ministry my life has never been the same. I can’t wait to hear Kimberly Moses Ministries. On February 2, 2019, I called the prayer line. God used you to prophesy over my life. It was an awesome word. I was told to write it down and watch it come to pass. I’m working my faith, trusting God on His word. I remember everyone saying, “You’re Next.” I feel my strength coming back. My expectation is in 100% receiving mode. Thanks for reminding me that God will supply all our needs. ---LC I received a 30 day of Faith Supernatural healing! It’s been seven months since I have taken blood pressure medication. On March 11, 2019, my blood pressure was normal at the doctor’s appointment. I dare you to believe God. Take Him at His word. –Leslie Hello Mrs. Kimberly Moses, I enjoy your LIVES on Facebook and the prayer request calls. You deeply touch me when my stomach was feeling pain. You prayed over me. I haven’t felt any sharp pain anymore. My fiancé and I are getting married next month. I want to thank you for what you do.

PROPHETESS BRITNEY BAKER Interviewed By Kimberly Moses

Interviewer: How did you get started in ministry? Prophetess Britney Baker: I was born and raised in church. I come from a lineage of preachers. I’m actually a third generation preacher. I’m the only one (right now in my generation) out of 30 grandkids that is saved and operating in ministry. My parents started their own ministry back in 2001. They pastored together for 10 years, then my dad passed away. I called myself the “David” of the family. My mom has other kids, but I’m the only one saved and in ministry, so I stepped up to help her at a young age. I was licensed into ministry as the youngest leader at my church at 18 years old. I’ve just been helping my mom ever since in ministry. One thing she couldn’t license me to be was a prophet. That was the one thing because you have to be called by God to be a prophet. She confirmed it here on the earth realm, but the fruit was just coming out on its own. I wasn’t even trying. The prophetic was just flowing. I was prophesying things, ministering words, and going forth as a prophet without even trying. It was undeniable and she put her stamp of approval on it as my leader - as my “Naomi”. That’s what I call her: my Naomi. I’ve been going forth ever since. Being called to the single’s ministry, just kind of happened. It’s amazing that the very thing that I dreaded and hated at first, became the very thing that people followed me for. I used to hate and dread being single. I felt like God was punishing me. Then God spoke to me one day and said, “You asked for me

to use you, right?” I said, “Yes God.” Then God said, “Then I need you to let me use you in this area. I need for you to let me put you on display to other single women.” So, I told God okay. I went for six years without dating. I said that I wasn’t going to date and said that the next man that I speak to and date will be my husband. My mother watched me turn down dates and turn down people left and right, saying no, no, no because I wanted to focus on ministry and business. I said that I was going to let God use me for His glory. Not to just preach about it, but to live it. So, I went for years without dating then singles started to follow me. They started to come from everywhere. That’s when God told me to release my testimony and how I battled behind the scenes. There are a lot of things that the church doesn’t talk about as far as masturbation, pornography, and things like that, especially things that people think only men deal with. As I opened up about what my battles used to be behind the scenes, I would have women from all over (in leadership and married women) contact me about how they were battling with this stuff and they just needed someone to say it to. The enemy had them feeling embarrassed or ashamed. I told God, “Okay, I get it now.” God spoke to me and said that He had someone special for me. He told me to just work the ministry that He gave to me. “I know you hated it at first, but this the very ministry that I’ve given you.” God said that He needed people to see someone do it right. Everything that’s being done in ministry is with so many scandals. He said, “In the midst of all

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

23

26

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

this chaos, I need people to know that I still work in the classic way of guy meets girl. They live holy, they court, and He proposes. I need people to see that I’m still that God.” He said that He was going to use me to do that, but I needed a season of focus. One day I was in the mall and I tried on a fragrance and I broke out. I said, “Oh my God, this is a high-end fragrance,” and God said, “Create one.” At first, I was like, “Huh? That’s out of my league.” Then He said, “Is there anything too impossible for Me? Create one.” Then, I researched for a whole year. People see the fragrance line, but I shut down for a year and researched. I talked to chemists, I mixed chemicals, and became an expert at fragrances. I wouldn’t wear any other fragrances. When I did, I tested them out when the chemist and I were mixing. I saved all of my money and put everything into it. I shut down going out with my friends for a second because I was saving every penny. Sometimes when people see the result of something, they don’t see it all. They think they want it, but they don’t know the backstory of it. They don’t know what you had to give up to get what they see. So after one year of research and saving, I received a knock on the door. There was a mailman with this big package. It was my first set of inventory. I opened the box and picked up the perfume bottle (my very first perfume bottle), fell on the floor, and started to cry. God spoke to me and said, “I thought you said that you couldn’t do it.” I began to weep. God said, “Anytime that I give you a vision, run with it. I’ll give you the tools and the know how. Just do your part, and I’ll do mine.” Now, I find that women who have skin allergies like me or have sensitive skin are replacing their high-end perfumes for mine. Not only does it smell good but they don’t have to worry about the skin irritation. A lot of people don’t know that some high-end fragrances cut corners so that they can cut expenses, like using cheaper alcohols, and this causes different allergies. My mom used a high-end fragrance

“ My mother

watched me turn down dates and turn down people left and right, saying no, no, no

and while she was preaching, she started to sweat really bad. A lot of people don’t know that sweating is a reaction from a fragrance that they put on. It’s not in the form of a rash, but it could be a cough or sweating. Now, I’m getting ready to do a program through Macy’s to have my product placed in Macy’s stores. In the midst of all of this, getting focused, my fragrance line was out, I was getting ready to put out my second book, and doing what God told me to do. God spoke to me at the age of 28 and said when I turn 30, my life was going to shift. I turned 30 this year, and life seemed pretty normal for the most part. So, I was like, “Okay, God.” I remember at 28 I had a dream that I walked into a building surprised. There were balloons flying around. So, when I turned 30, people threw me a surprise birthday party and it was in the same room from the dream at 28. Everyone was looking at me crazy and I was like, “Oh my God.” Also,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

in that dream, I looked down and I had a ring on my finger. I said, “Where did this ring come from on my finger? I don’t see a man; I just see a ring.” The birthday party came to pass from my dream, but I didn’t see a ring or a man. So, I kept focused and my mother had a dream this year. She said, “Brittney, I saw your husband in my dreams.” God reminded me of something with Naomi. Even though my mom went through with my dad passing with grief, God still used Naomi to instruct Ruth. He still showed Naomi beyond what Ruth could see concerning Boaz. God didn’t give me the dream. He gave it to her. She saw him. It was important for me to stick with my Naomi. People have tried to get me out of my church and dangle opportunities in front of me, but I knew who had the instructions for my assignment. It was more than just looking at my mom. She has literally been given the instructions for my assignment. Any instruction that she has given to me has never failed. I believed her and kept going. I think that a lot of singles look at time clocks. They are looking at the natural clock and fail

to look at the kingdom clock. Myles Monroe said that time is the currency of God. Anytime that God puts two people together, it’s not just for lovey-dovey, it’s for a purpose. I oftentimes tell singles this: with Adam, God looked at him and said, “It’s not good for man to be alone,” then connected her. He didn’t immediately give him Eve. He gave him the animals to name. He gave him his assignment to get out of the way. Name these animals and do what I know you can do in your single season. Get all of this out of the way first. Pursue these things first. The first person on this earth was not a married person; it was a single person. If Adam got Eve first, he would have been too off focused and more focused on her and probably wouldn’t have named any of the animals. After he named the animals, then God put him in a deep sleep and gave him Eve because God understood something then. “Okay, the animals are out here reproducing, but now you need to reproduce of your kind.” There was purpose. It was not just so Adam could kiss her all day, but the point was to be fruitful and multiply. I tell the singles that God is not being cruel by not giving you some-

body right now, not being married right now, or being single right now. It’s because there is still some purpose in your singleness. If you don’t work that purpose, maybe it’s pushing you away from your marriage date. It was important to me to get the fragrance line out. It was important to me that I wrote my first book and now my second book is done. Interviewer: What’s the title of your first and second book?

Prophetess Britney Baker: It’s called This Messed Up Church Girl. It’s about my testimony and is now available on Amazon. The title of my second book is Thinking in High Definition. This book is about thinking bigger in every area of your life: family, finances, career, and taking it to the next level. The reason I named it Thinking in High Definition is that I modeled it behind watching TV. Nobody likes watching SD anymore because HD is much clearer. In my book, that’s what I talk about. Living a clearer, bigger life. Interviewer: How was it like being raised in the church as a “PK” (Preacher’s Kid)? Prophetess Britney Baker: It was tough sometimes. It was tough because of the microscope that is placed on you. I felt like anyone else’s kid could get away with murder, but I couldn’t even scratch anybody. It was also a blessing because of the behind the scenes knowledge you get to learn concerning ministry and church. You get to watch what your parents go through so you kind of have an upper hand in ministry because you get to see so many behind the scenes and so everything. Growing up in church has its pros and its cons. You face a lot of hurts, but you gain a lot of knowledge. Interviewer: You talked about you knew that you were a prophet, that it was just on you. What would you tell someone that’s emerging in that? For me, I had so many questions. Nobody in my family is a prophet. God just called me in my wilderness state, so I had so many questions. I was going to my leaders at the time, but nobody could tell me what was going on and why I was having visions and dreams, but the Holy Spirit had revealed to me that He was calling me. So what would you tell someone that’s emerging as a prophet that has questions about the call? Prophetess Britney Baker: One of the main things I would tell them first is to definitely pray and ask God to, if they don’t have one

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

29

30

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

already, give them a leader that can recognize the calling and not just recognize it, but are willing to cultivate that calling that’s on their life. Make sure that God gives them a leader that’s not like Saul - not jealous. They’ll say you’re called, but they don’t try to cultivate it because they are nervous about your gift. Having a good leader is important, that is very, very important. Research and study the prophets in the Bible. Read prophetic books to get an understanding about the things you’re seeing and see if anybody else is. Find out what their thoughts are and their experience, as far as the prophetic, because there are so many gifts within the prophetic. Think about somebody like Joseph who was a dreamer and interpreter. His prophetic gift wasn’t like Elijah’s. The Bible didn’t talk about Elijah dreaming a lot so there are so many different gifts within the prophetic. Also, read and find out where your prophetic is because this is where a lot of prophets make errors. They feel like they have to do it like the next

prophet, but that may not be your area. If your area is to dream and interpret, then do that, or if you don’t dream a lot, then don’t make up anything. So it’s important to try to find out your area, your specific area, in the prophetic. Interviewer: Amen. One thing I admire about you is that you are faithful to your leader, and I know a lot of people jump at opportunities. What are the benefits, I should say, of just being loyal and showing your leader honor? Prophetess Britney Baker: I think one of the main benefits is that God, at the end of the day, honors that, even if people don’t see it. When you are a Joshua, you get promoted at the end. The ones that stayed, the ones that were faithful, the ones that didn’t complain, the ones that helped uphold their leader’s arms at the end of the day are always promoted. And people have to watch why Joshua got promoted because Joshua was faithful,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

or because Ruth stayed, or because Elisha was there to watch the whirlwind when his leader got caught up. You are the first in line for promotion no matter if you’ve been there for 10, 20 years. God puts you first even if you came in last. Even if you came in just as a lay member, if you stay faithful to your leaders, God honors that and the last will always be first. You will be first in line for whatever blessing that God has because you stayed and you watched, observed, and helped uphold your leader. I think the phrase “church hurt” has caused a lot of people to jump around and a lot of people who weren’t close to their leaders can’t stand. They pull an Orpah move instead of pulling a Ruth move, so they can’t stand to see their leaders go through. They feel like, “If my leader is going through, that means the blessings have left.” There was an instruction God gave me. I used to stay with my mom, and God spoke to me. He said, “I want you to move out, and I want you to move out now,” and I was like, “Okay, God!” So I moved out and I was like, “Okay, God, but I was helping my mom at the house. What’s going on?” And God said, “It’s for a reason.” Her lease was up at the apartment that she was staying in, and the house that she was getting fell through. The people did not come through so He said, “Now, I want you to let her stay at your place and not pay a dime.” I didn’t accept anything for tissue or anything. So I let her stay with me, and I paid for everything. She didn’t have to do anything for a few months. And then, she was trying to hurry up and find a place. God spoke to me and He said, “Tell her to find the house that she wants no matter how much it cost. I’m going to make her finances accommodate her,” so I told her that. She ended up staying with me a little bit longer, but she found a house that was totally out the price range she was thinking about, and she’s living in the house now. Right after she moved was when I met my Boaz. I think it’s important because people miss the opportunity to sow seeds into their leaders because they are always thinking about money. But when you sow faithfulness,

People have tried to get me out of my church and dangle opportunities in front of me, but I knew who had the instructions for my assignment.

31

God honors that. He truly honors that and I think one of the reasons God has blessed me so much is because I stayed and upheld my leader. I think it’s some things that money just can’t purchase. Interviewer: Amen, that’s awesome! I know that you went through a lot in life. What was the hardest thing you went through, and how did you overcome it? Prophetess Britney Baker: The hardest thing I’ve probably gone through, other than my dad passing away, was a season in my life where I was about to kill myself. Interviewer: Oh no!

34

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

Prophetess Britney Baker: Yeah and I was a prophet. I was preaching good, but I was involved in a terrible relationship behind the scenes. I was getting verbally abused in the worst way, and my boss, at the time, was a gypsy. She was a witch, so my life was a mess. My doctor had put me on a medicine that was making me more depressed. I was going to attempt to run off a parking garage, and my mom had to sit there and watch the police come to get me. Thankfully, I was put in a mental institution for an evaluation and all while being a prophet and while preaching. That’s why with ministry, I tell people to pray for their leaders because oftentimes the leaders feel like they have to hold stuff in because of what people will think of them if they express what’s really going on. So that was the most difficult time. The day I literally walked out of the mental institute, I got a call from my job and they fired me so I lost everything in like a matter of two days and at the same time, I felt like I was losing my mind. That was the most difficult time in my life, but it was also my turning point. It was like my Jonah experience, but it was my fish experience. I knew I was running away from God, and that was my fish experience. It was a turning point, but it was the most difficult point in my life Interviewer: Wow! I just look at you now like wow, you have overcome a lot, and the devil is liar. He always tries to attack the minds of God’s people. Prophetess Britney Baker: That is his battleground if he can attack the mind. He knows he can’t get God’s people in certain areas of sins, especially if they want to live holy, and they going forth living holy, so he has to try to attack them with mind battles. Interviewer: Praise God. You mentioned that you researched and you worked really hard to get your fragrance line. A lot of people want to start a business, but they don’t know how. Can you give us one key on how to launch a business?

Prophetess Britney Baker: That one word: research. Research. If I could say it three times: research, research, research! Since we have the world wide web, there is nothing that we don’t have access to. Most of the time, it is laziness that stops a lot of people, or if they feel like they aren’t connected to the right people, but really, in fact, it’s just about research. Research and discipline. Like I said, I discipline my finances to sometimes where you have to save money to make money. So it’s two of the biggest things that I can say is discipline and research. Interviewer: I love that. Prophetess Britney Baker: Nobody is going to believe in your vision more than you. The only person that’s going to believe in your vision more than you is God. You have to make a believer out of people, and the only way you can make a believer out of them is to show them it’s done, that it’s completed. Interviewer: Amen, I love that. So I know that you were focused on God. It kind of reminds me of my story. I wasn’t dating anybody. I wanted to get myself together because I was messed up, and I didn’t want to even entertain that. But I knew at the right time, and it just happened. I love how you said that you didn’t date anybody for, you said, six years, and I said, “Wow,” and you were so focused. So what would you tell these singles out here because a lot of people want to get married. They hate being lonely. Or if they’re waiting, what would you tell someone that’s waiting? Prophetess Britney Baker: Well, I would tell them, to the best of their ability, just shift their focus. When you focused on loneliness, that is the result you’re going to get. When you shift your focus, and you start worrying more about your hobbies and things you’re good at, that lonely feeling doesn’t really have time to come into your mind. I know a lot of people say that’s easier said than done, but I’m single so I know. I’ve been the bitter

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

single and I’ve been the content single. The only difference was a shift in my mind. Nothing changed around me. I didn’t get married, I didn’t change my church, I didn’t change my friends. The only thing that changed around me was my mindset.

get you in a dark corner. Call some friends, join different groups. Do what you need to do to fight off the wiles of the devil while you’re single; that is the best advice I can give. Singleness can be enjoyable if you let it.

Interviewer: Amen

Interviewer: Yes! So what qualities should singles look for in a potential spouse?

Prophetess Britney Baker: And when my mind changed, my perspective on my singleness changed, so that’s the best thing I can say is: shift where you’re focusing your mind. Most of the time, that feeling of loneliness comes from being alone too much. Don’t let the devil

Prophetess Britney Baker: I would say, especially if they are believers, is another believer. And then compatibility is important because truth be told, and this is just the God honest truth, I’m not the prophet all the time! Compatibility is important. Are our lives going to

35

36

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

fit together good enough? Most singles just want either two things: they want to rush to be able to post pictures that say “Date Night,” or they want to be able to have sex and the skip all of the necessary tools that what will make a marriage actually work. My checklist changed when my mind started changing. I started looking for different things. Interviewer: Amen Prophetess Britney Baker: You start asking certain questions while you’re courting. You start asking questions that are going to determine how you’re going to live together, not how

you’re going to look together. So I would say a relationship with God, compatibility, and a good friendship. Interviewer: Amen Prophetess Britney Baker: You will have those days where you have disagreements and those days where you may not want to be lovey-dovey. There will be days where, correct me if I’m wrong, Sis, married people may not be having sex every day. You want to be praying. Interviewer: Yeah, that’s good Prophetess Britney Baker: But it’s important to build that too so having a relationship with God, being compatible, and being friends. Interviewer: Amen, that’s good. So tell us more about your fragrance line. Prophetess Britney Baker: This is another thing I wanted to say concerning entrepreneurship and wanting to start a business: starting your business is half the battle; the other half is the consistency after the business has started because you may not see the sales that you want to see right away, and for me, that’s how it was at first. I don’t blame people. They want to smell it before they buy it so for me, people couldn’t walk in stores and sample my fragrance because it wasn’t in stores. The work was for me to make my fragrance accessible so people can smell it in order to buy it. Interviewer: Right Prophetess Britney Baker: It’s amazing how people in the world can be so successful, but we serve the God that said He has given us the power to get wealth. Interviewer: That’s right Prophetess Britney Baker: And that the difference is laziness. I think it’s a lot of Christians who feel like, “God, I serve you. You’re supposed to make this happen.” No, you have to work too. Faith without works is dead. You have to give God something to attach the favor to. You can’t expect God to make you a New York Times bestselling author if you never wrote a book. You have to give Him something tangible to attach the favor to so I would say work hard. I’m a vendor at events; my goal now is to get my fragrance out there. I need as many people to smell it as possible. I’m going to go to the Macy’s program, but right now, I’m going to different places. Interviewer: Amen, what’s the name of your fragrance?

“ My boss, at

the time, was a gypsy. She was a witch, so my life was a mess. My doctor had put me on a medicine that was making me more depressed.

Prophetess Britney Baker: The company is called L’arôme Factory. In French, that means “the aroma”. But there are two separate fragrances. One is called Fervent which is behind the Scripture that says, “The fervent prayers of the righteous avails much” because fervent means hot and heated so it’s that sexy, date night smell. The other one is called Amour Grace and in French, that means Love Grace. Interviewer: Do you have a website that we can go to for your fragrance? Prophetess Britney Baker: Yes. It’s www.

Interviewer: Ok, that’s awesome! I’m so excited about what God is doing in your life, and I know that this is only the beginning so you haven’t seen anything yet! Prophetess Britney Baker: Thank you, thank you! Interviewer: Amen! What upcoming events do you have going on? Prophetess Britney Baker: Right now, I’m traveling mostly. I’ll be in Georgia a lot, but I’m currently planning a single’s conference for June 2019; I’m still working on that behind the scenes. Also in February, I [was] ordained as the Executive Pastor of my church, and I [am] the youngest female pastor in my city.

Interviewer: Yay, that’s so awesome! Where are you located? Prophetess Britney Baker: In Jacksonville, Florida. Interviewer: Ok, awesome! We just did the interview for Prophetess Tonya Hall. She’s was featured in November 2018; she’s in Jacksonville. Prophetess Britney Baker: Oh yeah, I know Prophetess Hall. She’s a preaching something! Interviewer: Yes, so that’s awesome! Two ministers from Jacksonville. Look at God! Prophetess Britney Baker: Wow! Interviewer: I know earlier this year, you tagged me in an entrepreneurial event. I’m not sure of the name of it. Are you planning on launching that entrepreneurial venue? Prophetess Britney Baker: Yes. I’m going to actually have that towards the end of the year. I’m just pushing it back because I saw the demand for singles, and they are putting a demand on me to write a book. Interviewer: Yes Prophetess Britney Baker: So prophetically, I switched it up because I said that I need to do this first, and then, I’m going to go back to the entrepreneurial. But I’m going to do the entrepreneurial summit towards the end of this year, and that’s going to be phenomenal! I’m going to bring in all kinds of people in business, and then I’m going to teach a workshop myself. Interviewer: Amen, that’s going to be awesome!

STEPHANIE DAVID Interviewed By Shirley Cooper Interviewer: Hi Stephanie. As you already know, my name is Shirley, a writer for Rejoice Essential magazine. This month’s article is a special Mother’s Day write up and I’d love to share a piece of your “mommy” life. For starters tell me a little about Evanora. How old is she?

only two people in the theater. As the credits came up. they were about to introduce other trailers and I heard in my right ear, “Her name will be Evanora.”

Wait. The Lord just corrected me. It was before the miscarriage that I heard the Lord say, “Her name will be Evanora!” I turned to my right Stephanie: She’s six months old (giggles), side to see who it was speaking to me and even though it seems like she was just born. there was no one. So I turned to Algene who was seated at my left and asked him, “Baby, Interviewer: How has Evanora changed your did you hear that?” And he said that he didn’t life? hear anything and asked what was it that I heard. I told him what I heard and he said that Stephanie: (Rocking Evanora in her arms to we should look it up and he did. The name calm her down) She gave it meaning. I feel Evanora means life after loss. We assumed like I have a purpose with her. Like when immediately that the name that the Lord gave you’re married, it’s just you and your husband was because of his Algene’s father who had and you fall into a routine. It’s not like you passed. We came to the understanding that don’t have a purpose..it’s not a routine. It’s God was also going to use that name to give just when you have a baby, you have a sched- us peace during a miscarriage that would ule now. You can’t just sleep in on Saturday. soon take place in months to come. (StephaYou have to attend to the baby. Her lolo Eugene. We found out later that the name Gene Stephanie: (Stephanie smiles) Ahhh this is means gift from God. So altogether her name my favorite story! Just a few months beInterviewer: How is Daddy with her? fore we had lost Algene’s dad as well. While all the mourning and grieving was going on, Stephanie: Amazing! Actually, I felt jealous we tried to bring normal to our situation. My after the first month. I was really jealous husband’s mom was in the Philippines and because I was still healing from the C-section. my husband and I decided that we wanted to He was able to do mommy things and daddy just get out. my recovery. He changed her diapers. He’s the one who cleaned her up and I know a lot of people are saying, “Oh you should feel grateful,” but I was the one who wanted to do all those things with my baby. He was so amazing. He learned how to wipe her front to back, he learned how to breastfeed (laughing), he knows how to swaddle (giggles)… he still knows how to swaddle. Even as far as caring for me. He would hold the door open to the bathroom and put the baby in the bathroom hospital crib and all so that we can keep eye contact on her while he cleaned me up. That stuff he hasn’t stopped. He sees when I’m overwhelmed and takes the baby while I sleep. He takes care of everything. He doesn’t wait for me to change the diapers, but he still won’t do the finger test. Interviewer: What’s the finger test? Stephanie: It’s when you take your finger and check to see if there’s poop (Stephanie laughs hysterically)! Interviewer: Do you share Jesus with her? Stephanie: (Eyes wide open) Oh yesss!! Before she was born, I held worship music to my belly. I read scriptures and even did children’s devotionals. I did the same with the baby I miscarried, Madison. My babies were dedicated long before I even knew they were there. Interviewer: What kind of fun and entertaining things do you do with your baby? Stephanie: Well, right now, she really loves singing. I give credit to (giggles) the fact that I sang to her while I was pregnant. Oh and she loves her little fish tank app that I downloaded. It’s an interactive game for child development. She literally jumps to it. I also do her ABC song. She dances to it.

STEPHANIE AND EVANORA Interviewer: Does Evanora get up a lot during the night? Stephanie: No! Not at all. Unless she’s not feeling good. Interviewer: Do you want more children? How many? Stephanie: In the future, I would love more children. This is all exciting for me because I was told I couldn’t have any, so I would love more. I would love a boy next, whether that be through adoption or if the Lord blesses me through my body. We wanted 18 kids before. Until having her (laughs) and having 17 more....eww, I’m not sure I can handle that. Interviewer: Do you cook a lot at home? Stephanie: Yes. I’m the one who cooks. Although Algene cooks amazingly. (We took a 30-minute break so that Stephanie

rides? Stephanie: No! She’s really good. Especially if we have Jesus music on. Interviewer: How do you keep Evanora happy while you’re cooking or cleaning? Stephanie: Uhmm..it depends. Sometimes she wants me to hold her. And sometimes I’ll just put her in her carry bag. She loves her Walker. It has a little music player and she loves music. Anything music, she loves. I also give her baby wafers. She loves it. I put her in her playpen too because she loves belly time. Interviewer: Do you go out a lot as a family to restaurants? How does Evanora behave? STEPHANIE AND EVANORA could feed Evanora) Interviewer: Do you get alone time while Evanora takes her naps or do you nap with her? Stephanie: Well, first of all, let me explain (giggles). She takes what we call power naps through the day. You are lucky if you get fifteen minutes. So during that time, we’ll start a meal together, Algene and I. In the morning she usually sleeps until 10 am and I’ll use that time to spend time with the Lord. As far as mommy and daddy time, we make it work! Interviewer: What are your busy days like and how do you handle them with such a tiny baby dependent on you?

Stephanie: Yes, and she’s amazing. We have people actually tell us that she is a good baby. We’ve never taken her out where she cried. We have never had to leave a restaurant or any place because of crying. Interviewer: How is your shopping trip to the grocery store with Evanora? Stephanie: Same thing as going out to eat. The difference is while shopping, I’m putting things in the cart for her and her daddy is putting them back (laughs). Interviewer: Are you an overprotective mommy?

Stephanie: Yes! Extremely. Even with other parents who’ve been parents for a long time. Algene is the perfect daddy for being a first timer, and even with him I get overprotecStephanie: Well, if I have somewhere to go, tive. Example, this happened today. I brushed I prepare her stuff the night before. That’s my teeth while he sat with the baby and something Algene taught me. I prepare every- then I sat with the baby on the bed while he thing the night before. My stuff and her stuff. brushed his teeth. I turned around and he wasn’t with her. He said that I yelled at him Interviewer: Does Evanora cry during car (laughs hysterically), but I “talked” firmly.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

Interviewer: As Evanora grows and begins school how will you walk her through peer pressure? Stephanie: Welp, first and foremost, until our government puts the safety of our children first and the bullying stops, my child will be homeschooled! As far as peer pressure, I hope that she will never have to face a crowd that she calls friends and be made to choose between doing good or doing bad. I would hope that she would have friends that would encourage her to have respect for herself, to love everyone, to respect others, and to live a life pleasing to God. But most definitely she will be faced with those types of people, and my only advice, aside from sharing with her my own experience, is that there are consequences to everything she does and says. That even when we say sorry, there are still prices we have to pay and things we say that we can’t take back. Interviewer: Think about Evanora’s first day in high school. How will she dress? How will she carry herself? Stephanie: The Lord always told me, and H confirmed it with my brother Kirk Jr., that she would be modest. The Lord showed me her pulling her cousins skirt down if it went up to high. I like fashion so much that if I could wear certain things I would. She’s going to be like me, but she’s going to be modest. Interviewer: Evanora sees her first boy crush. How would you walk her through love? Stephanie: Well, first of all, we would move... (giggles). Just kidding. But I would share our story. The good and the bad in the waiting, like me and my husband. Interviewer: Do you love being a mommy? Why? And what is your greatest moment with

STEPHANIE, ALGENE (HUSBAND) AND EVANORA Evanora? Stephanie: I love it, yes. Like I get so excited to go to family events. Like the other day, I finally went to an event where I was actually a mother. I love that she needs me. My greatest moment? It had just come to mind when I had just had Evanora and the nurses brought me popsicles and I heard the door crack open again, and I looked to see who it was (pause for 2 minutes as Stephanie begins to cry). It was Algene wheeling in Evanora saying, “Hi mommy!” It was my first time holding her and touching her. (Pause more crying) It was just so emotional. Magical. I will never forget that! The lump in my throat… everything. It was so exciting. Ok, Stephanie. Let’s wrap this up. Thank you for taking the time to share with us little pieces of your life. It was fun speaking with you.

MORGAN LARRACUENTE Interviewed By Shirley Cooper Interviewer: Hello Morgan. As you already know, my name is Shirley, a writer for Rejoice Essential magazine. Can you share with us how your life has changed from no babies to four? Morgan: (sigh) Timewise I have to work my time around them. Basically everything changes. You see, I have to make sure that everything works around them, which I love. I don’t get a minute to myself because they’re all five and under, but that’s good. I’m always surrounded by them. My timing changes... how I work around things. (Giggles) Everything I do now affects them. Interviewer: How old are your children? Morgan: Five, four... (laughs). No wait, he’s not four anymore. I’m so sad. He’s five...[the others are] three and two. Interviewer: Is there plenty of sibling rivalry?

Morgan: Oh yeah. I have a color chart...they start on green. If they do anything to misbehave, I bring the clip down. If they do good, then the clip goes up. So the highest color is pink and it’s called ‘Superhero’. The worst is red and it’s called ‘Boom’. They really love the chart, but if they’re doing bad, they hate it. Interviewer: Which child is your most difficult and which one is your easy, simple one? Morgan: Honestly, I don’t think that one is worse than the other. They all have their own different difficulties. They all are equally difficult sometimes. Interviewer: Does your husband help out with the kids? What does he do to help?

Interviewer: How many of your babies are in diapers?

Morgan: Oh yeah. When he gets home, he takes care of the kids. He puts them to bed so that I can watch my shows or he does it give me my alone time. He’s also the fun one. (Laughs) He takes them outside to play, he plays videos with them, and he runs around the house with them. He’s definitely the fun one.

Morgan: Just one. I’m praying to get her off of them soon.

Interviewer: How do you handle overwhelming moments?

Interviewer: Can you share with us a few little creative things that you do to help your children with discipline?

Morgan: Mm...I mean obviously, I always have overwhelming moments, but I tell them to go upstairs and play in their room. Then I sit

Morgan: Oh my gosh! All day! All day my hands are on my head because they get along but they fight.

there and I just have my coffee. I turn on my worship music on or I get on my phone. Honestly, I wouldn’t do that before because I’d feel like I was punishing them. Then Jon would always tell me to send them to their room because it’s not a punishment. It’s just so they can leave me alone for a little bit. Interviewer: What do you do in your free time? Morgan: Uhmm...I like crafts, baking, sewing, doing vinyl, and watching my TV shows. Interviewer: When does your night end? Morgan: I’m going 24/7. Even when they’re sleeping, I’m always checking on them. I’m a light sleeper, so any little noise I’m up. Interviewer: Do you have God time? Morgan: Oh, yup. Everyday! Interviewer: Do you try to fit God into your children’s life? Can you share with us how you do that? Morgan: Oh yeah. They have their Sunday School and here at home, we pray. I’ll make coloring pages for them about Jesus. They listen to worship music. Lowly will actually be lifting his hands and praising. Interviewer: What kind of activities and fun things do you do with your children? Morgan: Uhm... honesty we do a lot. I’m always taking them to the park, the city park or our neighborhood park. I take them to Dunkin Donuts, water splash parks, any school events, local events, and parties. Anything that’s going on. Anything that’s fun for them where they can create memories.

MORGAN AND JONATHAN JR.

Interviewer: What do you teach your children to react when dealing with bullies? Morgan: Well I don’t think they’ve been bullied, but I’m always teaching them to be nice to everyone. I’m always teaching them to tell the teacher if someone does something wrong. There was a time when my oldest said something mean to one of his teachers, copying another student. I made him write her a letter and give her candy. Interviewer: Do your children enjoy school? Morgan: They love school! Joshy is more for the educational part. Jonju loves the fun parts. Interviewer: Are there any memorable milestones in your “mommy” life that you’d be happy to share with us? Morgan: Honestly it would be my pregnancy with Journey because she was literally born eight minutes after stepping into the hospital. They didn’t have time to do anything. I always thought it was corny hearing women

Morgan: Uhmmm...we really do talk about adopting. Like before I got married I’ve always wanted to adopt an older kid. Not a baby. Interviewer: Do you attend a church regularly? Are you involved in their ministry? Morgan: Yes and yes. I go to church regularly, and Jon and I joined the class to do the leadership group.

LEFT TO RIGHT: JOEY, JOURNEY, JONATHAN SR., MORGAN (BACK), JOSHY (BATMAN TSHIRT), JONATHAN JR., be rude to everyone. The truth is when you’re in that situation, you really don’t want anyone to touch you. You just wanna hurry it up (laughs). Interviewer: How much husband and wife quiet time do you get during the week? Morgan: Oh, we do that daily. Every time we put the kids to sleep we have a date night. We watch t.v., play games, or eat snacks. We have a good amount of time together. Sometimes he gets home late and we still spend at least an hour together. Interviewer: Are you able to get away and just bathe in total bliss through the week? Morgan: Oh yeah! Like I’ll either go shopping or sit in the bath by myself. Interviewer: Are you planning to have more children?

Interviewer: Well, Morgan. This about wraps it up. Thank you so much for your precious time. I know that you have a lot to do with all those babies, so I’ll let you get right back to them.

I have to make sure that everything works around them, which I love.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

A MOTHER’S PRAYER By Kimberly Moses Being a mother isn’t always easy. Sometimes it can be stressful or very joyful. However, children are a blessing from the Lord. God will be with you through it all. With God’s help, you will have great success with motherhood. I decree that I am a Proverbs 31 woman. I get up while it is still dark; I provide food for my family. I consider a field (business) and buy it; out of my earning. I set about my work vigorously; my arms are strong for my tasks. I see that my trading is profitable, and my lamp does not go out at night. I open my arms to the poor and extend my hands to the needy. I am clothed in fine linen and purple. My husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. I am clothed with strength and dignity; I can laugh at the days to come. I speak with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on my tongue. I watch over the affairs of my household and do not eat the bread of idleness. My children arise and call me blessed; my husband also, and he praises me: “Many women do noble things, but I surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” Lord, bless me to love my children with your love. Lord, bless me to teach my children your laws. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” I decree that I will teach my children about your ways and your goodness. I decree that they will have a long life. I decree

that my seeds will be mighty in the land. Psalm 112:2 says, “His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.” I decree that my children will live in your presence Lord (Psalm 102:28). I decree that my children are blessed and they will inherit the land (Psalm 25:13). Every evil assignment against my family and me, cancel it in the name of Jesus. I plead the blood of Jesus upon us right now. I break all demonic strongholds off my family. I decree that I will take care of my home because my home is my first ministry. I decree that I will be the best mom that I can be because I am a child of the most High God. Lord, give me a burden for prayer and show me what to pray. Lord, protect me and my family and give your angels charge over us. I decree that my family and I will be prosperous in all things. I command divine alignment in every area of my life and my family’s life. Thank you, Father, for answering this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.

THE FIYA FLIRT T.N. Vincent

And now the woman says to herself, “Another day home alone. Ok, I am tired of being by myself. It’s getting warm outside and I just want to be able to hang out with somebody nice. If I could just find somebody romantic, somebody huggable and I can cuddle. Lying under the oak tree with a gentle breeze blowing and I’m resting in his arms. Maybe we can hang out at the pool… Whew!! I’ve seen some fine men around here. Let me smile, show just enough cleavage to grab his attention and a little flip of my hair.” And he thinks to himself, “Oh yeah! All of these fine ladies going to be wearing those short sun-dresses, sandals and shorts. I just need some pretty toes to lick and lips to kiss. I need to see what they are working with. Nothing too serious, just a few pretty ladies to hold me over for the summer. Sometimes I get tired of coming home to an empty house. I want to come home to hips, thighs and

lovely eyes. All I need to do is catch their eye and wink.” EVERYTHING STARTS WITH A THOUGHT. These are just a few thoughts that people are silently pondering over. Here’s an interesting thought: when we look over at the stranger that just winked or flashed a smile, what really triggered that smile? What caused this person to lock eyes with mine intentionally for five seconds too long. Whoa! Did they just lick their lips? Most of the time we respond out of what we HOPE they are thinking, or worst yet we ASSUME we know what’s behind that wink. If you have ever battled with(just to name a few): • loneliness

• low-self esteem • confidence • fear • self-worth • fornication • pornography • exaggeration • spiritual dryness • adultery/ lust • anger or rage • control • gossip • vain imaginations • flattery • manipulation you may be susceptible to being seduced by the ‘spirit of flirt.’ Ok, I can hear you saying what is she talking about? What’s wrong with flirting. It’s nothing serious. I’m not hurting anybody. Flirting is not harmless; it’s playing with fire. Flirting is hellfire on their lips. It is like a scorching fire (Proverbs 16:27 NIV). Flirting is ‘forbidden fruit.’ It blooms from the ‘tree of perversity.’ If you feel good when somebody winks at you, we may need to take a look at getting you some deliverance. Did you know that tingling sensation you get, those butterflies in your stomach, is rooted in perversion? Whoever winks with their eye is plotting perversity (Proverbs 16:30 NIV). Let me say that again. The Bible clearly states WHOEVER WINKS WITH THEIR EYE IS PLOTTING PERVERSITY. This means they have already thought about it, planned it out in their mind and are now making their move just like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Pucker up (smooches). Proverbs 16:30 and 27 further states that whoever purses their lips is bent on evil. If the actions of someone that is rooted in evil and perversity turns you on, then dial 1.712.770.4160 code 673436# Mon-Friday, 11:00 AM (Central Standard Time) and receive your freedom and deliverance. Seriously, dial in. Your life will never be the same.

This spirit causes one to detour from what is ethical, moral, good, true and right. Many people that have this spirit are tormented unknowingly and become very stubborn and self-willed. This spirit also works with a spirit of uncleanness. The root word of Perversion comes from aqash in the Hebrew. It means crooked, forward, false and perverse. Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved, but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. (Pr 28:18). One must be loosed from this spirit and all of its ugly nasty cohorts that are in operation to snare souls. What caused this perversion in the first place? There are many factors we must consider to answer this accurately. Especially when it comes to us on an individual or regional basis. Why do I flirt? It’s rooted in your God-given desire to be connected and loved genuinely and authentically. When you flirt, you are trying to connect to God, but in the wrong way. Flirting tries to fill a void that only the Word of God can fill, not the words of a seducer. When you flirt you are trying to fill up your spirit through your soul (your mind, will, emotions, intellect, and imagination). Remember, God is a Spirit. When you flirt, you are searching for His presence, but through shallow and superficial methods for some immediate relief, (this attacks the symptoms, not the root). Use your authority according to Luke 10:19: I have given you power over all the power of the enemy. Loose yourself from this spirit by releasing righteousness, holiness, selfcontrol, deliverance, healing, the breaking of soul ties, the fruit of the Spirit and discipline (exert from Rules of Engagement by Dr. Cindy Trimm). The root of true freedom will come after you have renewed your mind to know your worth and who you are in Christ. Tonie N Vincent #KingdomNaires flowriters@gmail.com

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

CRUSHING Jacquelyn Love

I have been crushed through experience: molestation, heartbreak, divorce, rejection, etc. My spirit should have been broken long ago. Through therapy, I have come to understand that my healing was stunted. My love and care for others stunted my own growth. I had no concept of self-love. It is okay to put others first, but not at the expense of forgetting yourself. Long ago there was a halt in my emotional growth that I thought I could not articulate it. My feelings were dictated by how others told me I should or should not feel. Not wanting to change their views of me, I complied at the expense of me. There it goes again…negative affirmation. My chosen assignment became humility. I

was transparent, and yet no one could see me. People could not understand me, but then I came to understand that I was being hidden in plain sight. My pain was secure. It was locked in a metal shaft…unexpressed seemingly insignificant, and yet important. I recall a rough week I’d had. There were financial battles and job issues. I didn’t know how to make my situation work. I couldn’t hear myself think and when I did, there were only negative thoughts. I was denied access back to school and then rerouted. I was THROUGH! DONE! FINISHED! Yet, in that, God used my spiritual father to walk me through and pray for me and my spirit.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE MAY 2019

When I began to cry out to God, prayers were being answered! I was full and I had not released to Him (God). I was reminded that weeks prior I was told to cry out and on that day I did. I did so also that weekend, but I had not continued to do this in the weeks to come. My pain was used in unexpected places and understanding that came later: This walk in Christ is weighted! Truly, I am carrying a cross…one I probably couldn’t physically carry on my 5 feet 3 inches frame because it would be taller and heavier on all sides. While in Bible study I began talking and worshipping the Lord and all I could hear the Holy Spirit say was “cry out…cry out...cry out.” Before I was aware, there was a wave of everything that had been bothering me over me, making me lose sleep. All of that eventually turned into gratitude for the Lord. His graciousness towards me became so abundantly clear. There was a peace that came, followed by worship and clarity. That night I had found rest, but I first had to be crushed. While I was resting, I dreamt of telling someone what my spiritual father had naturally shared with me and that was a scripture in 2 Corinthians 4:2 that stated: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair.” I awoke from my dream and opened my bible to the scripture and continued reading through to verse 17. I began realizing that through suffering I am blessed! The understanding came: the weight I am carrying is the manifestation of my relationship with Christ. It is my death. In John 10:18 Christ states that he laid down His life and that no one can take it. I was reminded that I had laid down my life. I chose to follow Christ. I have been reminded that because I suffer with Him I will also reign with Him (2 Timothy 2:12). This weight was trying to taint my heart, but I began to understand myself through Christ! The definition of suffering is “an experiment of unpleasantries; it’s an experience of martyr-

dom/ or execution” (Google dictionary). I had to ask myself what martyrdom is. Borrowing from Google. martyrdom is defined as the “death of suffering of a martyr.” A martyr is “a person who is killed because of their religious belief.” Certainly, I was experiencing spiritual execution and unpleasantries for my belief! I was upset! How was it that I was praying/interceding for others and my prayers were not being answered?! I had an attitude with God. I was trying to understand how was it that He was sending me to so many places to witness, encourage, and inspire others and I wasn’t getting what I wanted!? I found that He was answering me, but not in the way or ways I wanted. I, too, was being renewed! How you ask? There was healing in my tears. I cried a lot during the last few weeks, both privately and publicly, but I was reminded of God’s word that He would bottle my tears (Psalm 56:8). There was healing in my mind. It was renewed in therapy while sleeping, and although my faith was tried, I was renewed! (Roman’s 12:2) I want to remind you my dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, that no matter what it looks like, remember the promises of God! He is with you even in your trying times! He promised that He would never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 KJV). To count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience” (James 1:2-3 KJV) Keep praying, keep pressing, and stand tall!

MORE THAN A MOTHER By Shirley Cooper already. Two have gone on to be with the Lord and one that has comfortably found her mother’s arms to be the only place that she is happy in. She knows when her mommy is close and when she moves too far. At six months, she knows. My middle daughter became a mother four times to the most amazing little people I have ever come to know and love. They are simply my joy. Between both daughters, together, here on earth, I have five incredible grandbabies that teach me daily why life is to be cherished. MERCY (BOTTOM MIDDLE), MORGAN (LEFT), A mother holds the greatest treasure in her SHIRLEY (MIDDLE), STEPHANIE (RIGHT) hands, but some just don’t take the time to see that. As mothers, we are made tough for “Many women do noble things, but you surso many reasons, yet we are the most gentle pass them all.” (Proverbs 31:29) in human form. Every mother remembers their child’s first breath, their first steps, their first day at school, and their first love. It’s nearly impossible to be a good mother and not remember these things. I remember everything about my children, good and bad. I remember the tears I’ve shed for them in painful times and joyful times because I am a mother first. My oldest became a mommy three times

We know how to love beyond measure and we know how to discipline without losing sight of who we are. Like lions we are fierce and when our children face danger, we are their protection. Fear never sets in when our children need us. I remember long ago when I had my first child. At my side was my mother. I recall having to have an emergency C-section and fear began to set in. I went from fearless to fearful within seconds.

Through that entire ordeal, before and after, I didn’t need to speak a word. My mother was in control. She found all the answers and filled in all the blanks. She gave me comfort and peace and assured me that I had nothing to fear. My cesarean went a little tougher than anticipated, but my mother never left my side. She comforted my worried husband and she gave her motherly care to him as well. Making sure that he wasn’t filled with the same fear I was. Through all my children’s lives, my mother was my rock. She was the comfort and peace I needed. I miss her, but I am certain that today she is in a better place, living in the Hope that we are all trying to reach. I often wonder what it’d be like to have her with me right now. Would she be the rock that she once was? How would she respond to all her great-grandchildren? Would she kiss them all over like she did to my children? Would she let them get away with trouble? What would she do? While so many believe that children are the treasure in a mother’s hands, I believe that a mother is the true treasure - the gold in the pot. A mother is a child’s strength and soft spot. I used to ask myself, “What would I do without my mother?” One day that thought became my reality and fear set in once again. It took a mighty parent to guide me to a peace that surpasses all understanding. It took God to help me grasp the fact that, although my mother was a rock in my life in times of fear, He was the Rock in that very dark place that I was so afraid to live in. He was the Rock that now holds the strongest woman I had ever known. I soon realized that

MERCY AND KIRK JR.

my mother’s newfound peace was my peace and it could only be found in Christ. Mothers are more than mothers. They are soldiers, queens, MMA fighters, firefighters, boxers, baseball players, football players, dancers, singers, writers, cooks, teachers, truckers, cashiers, and more. They fill any shoes. Their mission is great and their call is greater. They’re bigger than what we see! They are everything that their children need. When God created mothers, He created the most beautiful life. A life filled with hardship and triumph. A bold life. A life that holds the most powerful gift ever....love! Today, turn to your treasure and tell her just how much she means to you, because in the end, she is more than a mother. She is a conqueror!

WOMEN THAT GOD USED IN THE BIBLE

Many people feel like God can’t use them because of their past. I wasn’t always a saint. I have always been transparent about what God delivered me from to show people the redemptive power of God. I was an exotic dancer and a Buddhist when I was in the world. Once I even backslid, but I repented and received another chance from the Lord. Now, I’m on fire for God, and I know He is real because I feel His presence every day. God uses me in signs, miracles, and wonders. I have witnessed many miracles in my ministry. You may have a horrible past, but God can still use you. Many women are discriminated against because of their backgrounds, appearance, physical strength, social economic status, and more. I understand how that feels because some people have told me that they don’t like the way I look. Their opinions doesn’t stop God from using me, and peo-

ple’s opinions will not stop God from using you either. Some people feel that God can’t use women. God used various women throughout the Bible. God used a lady name Rahab (Joshua 2). She was a prostitute. Some people feel like she was the least likely person that God should’ve used because of who she was, but God had a plan for her. God has a plan for your life as well. Rahab hid the two spies in her home when men from her country sought to kill them. She received the spies with peace (Hebrews 11:31; James 2:25). Rahab played an essential part because she helped the children of the Israelites in their process of receiving their promised land. Rahab is remembered in the hall of faith (Hebrews 11:31) and is a part of Jesus’ genealogy (Matthew 1:5).

God used Mary, the mother of Jesus. She had the privilege of carrying and birthing the Messiah which was a huge responsibility to carry God in the Flesh in her womb (John 1:1,14). She found favor in the sight of God (Luke 1:28). She will be forever known as the Virgin Mary or the mother of Jesus. Imagine how much favor you will have with God as you walk uprightly. God wants to use you to make history and impact the world around you for His Glory! God used the woman at the well in Samaria (John 4:1-42). During this time, people felt like it was a waste of time to educate women which is why Jesus’ disciples got mad when they saw Him talking to her (John 4:27). They were surprised to see Him take time out of His schedule and witness unto her. You may have been rejected, but God will always make time for you just like the woman at the well. Some of your spectators may not understand why the hand of the Lord is upon your life, but you are important to Him like this woman in Samaria. She had five husbands, and Jesus Christ had a word of knowledge concerning her. You may have sinned and felt like nothing good will ever come out of your life, but one encounter with God will turn your life into a life of purpose. After their conversation, she went back home to tell everybody about Jesus Christ. She was a woman evangelist. God will use you as well to spread the gospel of His Son Jesus. Imagine losing everything like your family, sense of security, joy, happiness, etc. Will you give up? Many people do but not Ruth. God used her because of her determination and faithfulness. She had a prominent position because she was a part of the genealogy of Jesus Christ. She was a widow and considered to be at the bottom of the socioeconomic scale. She had to work in the field to take care of her mother-in-law and herself. Many people would’ve looked down on her, but God caused a man named Boaz to favor her. She went from working in the fields to owning the fields. She was counted in by God. Many

people may have counted you out, but God counted you in like He did Ruth. God will use you to be a sign of His restoration and goodness just as He did with Ruth. God used Esther in the Bible. Esther was a Queen that came from small beginnings. She replaced Queen Vashti who disobeyed the King. Esther didn’t want to tell anyone of her past because her mentor, or uncle Mordecai, instructed her not too. She sacrificed herself for her people, the Jews, by approaching King Xerxes unannounced. She fasted and put her life on the line. Her bravery paid off, and her people were delivered from the plans of wicked Haman. You may come from small beginnings just like Esther, but as you remain faithful, God will open doors and cause people of influence to notice you. You are someone’s replacement because they aren’t walking uprightly before God. God will use you powerfully to set the captives free! Do not despise small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10)! God used Junia, a woman apostle, in scripture (Romans 16:7). Many people feel like women can’t be an apostle, but they fail to realize that God can use whomever He chooses. There is no gender distinction in the five-fold offices. When you look at Ephesians 4:8-12, when Jesus appointed the five-fold offices, He didn’t specify that only men could fill these offices. The scripture says, “He gave some apostles...” ‘Some’ includes everyone from all walks of life. ‘Some’ includes men and women. How many women out there that are really apostles or prophets, but their leaders shut down their gift and ordained them as an evangelist, deaconess, or an elder because they believe that God can’t use women in specific roles? Now that we have covered that women can preach the gospel and how God can use women let’s discuss the warfare women go through! “The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny,” coming soon!
