No Fear Here Mrs. Willie Mae

This afternoon, I saw a video of a little girl around 18 months old swimming and diving into the water. It was simply amazing, it sent chills all over my body and it made me think, why can’t I do that? LOL. But seriously, why? I was never thought how to swim so instead I was taught to scale the side of the pool but don’t let go because you will drown and even though that’s probably what would have happen... what’s the difference between me and this baby girl? The answer is simple... she knows no fear and she doesn’t realize the “danger” of drowning. I on the other hand am well aware of it. This made me think about life in general and how often we are fearful of things that we really should not be, but surely this is not the way our heavenly father wants us to go through life, as a matter of fact his word is full of scripture telling us not to fear. Now this doesn’t mean we just walk into traffic or make rash decisions, but it means we walk by faith trusting God to fulfill his promises. God’s word says, I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread”, yet we become fearful of the unknown when our finances are low. We fear what can happen to our kids, we fear our spouses neglecting us, we fear so many things because we have learned to be fearful, but this toddler is perfect example of how we are not born with a spirit of fear but a spirit of love, power and a sound mind. Think about it Peter was walking on water but fear crept in and he began to sink. Fear also made the Israelites grumble and complain even after God has parted the Rea Sea to deliver them from the hand of Pharaoh. Fear even made Peter deny Jesus, whom he had been with, ministered with and He knew Jesus’ power but still denied him out of fear. And this my sisters is where we fall short! We must fight the temptation of being fearful by trusting God with everything that concerns us, in doing this we will find that God has

predestined us for great things and has plans to give us hope and a great future. Will you trust him today?? Let us pray- Father God, we thank you that you have not given us the spirit of fear but somewhere along the way we have picked it up We bind and break the spirit of fear off of us and our families in Jesus name. We decree and declare that we will fear nothing, we decree and declare that we will walk by faith and not by sight and we thank you for providing all of our needs according to your riches and glory in Christ. Today’s a new day and we will press on to our higher calling despite the enemy’s attempts to coerce us to fear in Jesus name we pray, Amen!

More than One Way

Vera L Smith therefore the prayer may not be answered. We are often taught to bow our heads and pour out our hearts to God. Well did you know there was more than one way to pray? We will briefly discuss the 6 ways to pray. The first one is Prayer in Agreement Matthew 18:19-20 introduces this type of prayer… “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” When going into these types of prayer ensure that you know what you are agreeing with, you both must be in line with what you are asking. For instance say you are praying for someone who has cancer, they are believing God for supernatural healing but, you are praying for a cure. In this case you two are NOT in agreement, so

The next type we will discuss a prayer of faith, Mark 11:24 speaks of this type of prayer “ Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” These prayer are what most think of when you mention the word prayer, they are also known as petition prayers. The important thing to note with these prayers is it is not after you pray, it’s not when you feel something, no its when you pray you MUST already believe you have what you have asked for. Usually what happens is prayers are not answered due to our unbelief. Even if we don’t see the manifestation we must know that God has heard and will answer our prayers according to His purpose and

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

perfect will. With this prayer you would never say” Lord your will be done” that shows that you don’t know what God’s will is for you. This is the main reason we MUST know what God has promised us and stand on it. The third type of Prayer we will discuss is The Prayer of Consecration and Dedication. This prayer is outlined in Luke 22:41-42 “And He[Jesus] was withdrawn from them [Peter, James, and John] about a stones thrown, and He knelt down and prayed, saying Father if it is Your will, take this cup from Me; nevertheless not My will but, Your will be down.” This prayer is used particularly when you have two Godly alternatives in front of you. For instances lets say God speaks and tells you to go to India to spread the Gospel, but, he doesn’t give clear direction on Whether to go to New Delhi or Mumbai

9

while they are both great options for the assignment this is a good time to say Father if your will is for me to go to New Delhi I will go. He will let you know if you are headed in the wrong direction. Abraham had no idea the direction God was taking him but, yet he allowed God’s will to be done, I could imagine there had to be a time or two when he was faced with a decision to cross a river or climb a mountain. Remember when praying this type of prayer you would always say Lord You will be done. In conclusion th is very important to know and understand different types of prayer and why and how to use them. Prayer is communication between us and our Heavenly Father, just as we look for effective communication when speaking with our fellow brethren, we should honor our Father enough to learn to communicate with him effectively.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015 I will walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy (Romans 13:13). I will abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what has been strangled, and from blood (Acts 15:20). Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8). Sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among me, as is proper among saints (Ephesians 5:3). I decree that I will not live according to the flesh so I will not die, but I will live by the Spirit so I will put to death the deeds of the body, so I will live (Romans 8:13). Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body (1 Corinthians 6:13). Abuse Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them (Colossians 3:19). The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence (Psalm 11:5).

Abstinence For this is the will of God, my sanctification: that I abstain from sexual immorality; that I know how to control my body in holiness and honor (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4). Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous (Hebrews 13:4). I will flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body (1 Corinthians 6:18). I will flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22). I will put to death therefore what is earthly in me: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry (Colossians 3:5). My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within me, whom I have from God. I am not my own (1 Corinthians 6:19). I will not fulfill the works of the flesh which are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. If I do such things, I will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). I will abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against my soul (1 Peter 2:11). Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised (Proverbs 31:30). Because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband (1 Corinthians 7:2).

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7). I will let no corrupting talk come out of my mouth, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. I will not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom I was sealed for the day of redemption. I will let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from me, along with all malice. I will be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave me (Ephesians 4:29-32). Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged (Colossians 3:21). I will repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on me, I will live peaceably with all. Beloved, I will never avenge myself, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if my enemy is hungry, I will feed him; if he is thirsty, I will give him something to drink; for by so doing I will heap burning coals on his head.” I will not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:17-21). I am God’s temple and God’s Spirit dwells in me. If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and I am that temple (1 Corinthians 3:16-17).

11

O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more (Psalm 10:17-18).

my anger (Ephesians 4:26).

I will be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:1-20).

Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually (Psalm 140:1-2).

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence (Proverbs 10:11). For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless (Malachi 2:16). But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone (Matthew 15:18-20). Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged (Colossians 3:18-21). My mouth will not be filled with cursing and deceit and oppression (Psalm 10:7). For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere (James 3:16-17). I will be angry and do not sin; I will not let the sun go down on

I will be angry, and do not sin; ponder in my own heart on my bed, and be silent (Psalm 4:4).

Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence (Psalm 27:12). There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers (Proverbs 6:16-19). I will present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is my spiritual worship. I will not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of my mind, that by testing I may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:1-2). As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife (Proverbs 26:21). Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits (Proverbs 18:21). Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:22-27). I will love one another just as God has loved me (John 13:34). I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites (Psalm 26:4). I decree that I am no longer a victim but a victor. I decree that I will stand for righteousness. I decree that the spirit of abuse has no power over me in the name of Jesus. Lord, fight against those who fight against me (Psalm 35:1). Lord, contend with those who contend against me (Psalm 35:1). Lord, give me vindication which is my inheritance in the saints (Isaiah 54:17). I decree that no weapon formed against me will prosper and every tongue that rises up against me will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, give me justice for everything that has been undone unfairly against me.

Have you ever been through a life changing event that pushed you closer to God? For instance, maybe you faced jail time because of anger issues or theft? Maybe, someone walked out of your life that you thought would be there forever. Whatever, the case was your trials brought you closer to God somehow. Did you know that God was there with you all along? Reflect back. When you were in the midst of acting out your episode of rage or robbery you heard a small voice telling you to walk away or to stop. However, you ignored that voice and got into trouble and suffered terribly. Think about how many red flags were there in the beginning that you ignored about the person who you lusted after. You knew deep down, they weren’t the right person, but your flesh wanted them. In the end, they end up hurting you. Our trials in life are to help us grow spiritually and to train us up in God. There is a reason for the suffering we endure in life. One reason is so we can learn how to become obedient to God. Hebrews 5:8 says, “Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.” This scripture is referring to Jesus Christ. He was obedient to the cross. He made himself subject to death for your sins, sickness, and sorrows. Jesus was tempted in the wilderness. He was persecuted for doing mighty works. He suffered on the cross, all for you. It was all in God’s will. Jesus left us an example that we should learn humble obedience to God’s will by our suffering. Our afflictions, teach us submission. Nothing is wasted with God. Dear Heavenly Father, You are so worthy. I repent for the times I got outside of your will for my life. Lord, I realize that you were warning me from heartache and danger but I didn’t take heed. I am so grateful for your mercy and grace. Even though, I messed up so many times, you gave me another chance. It was good that I had to go through the trials because I discovered who I am

in you and who you really are Lord. I realize that I have to share in the sufferings of Christ but I am so thankful I also get to share in his comfort. Thank you, Lord for teaching me obedience. I decree this prayer in the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen. Are you being submissive and honoring those who are in authority? It seems like many people do not honor men and women of God, the President, elderly, police officers, and the list goes on and on. They are a wicked and rebellious generation whose heart is far from God. They are full of discord and strife. The truth of the matter is they have strayed from the Word of God. We are told in Romans 13, to be subject to governing authorities because they have been instituted by God. We are also warned that if we resist these authorities, then we are resisting what God has appointed and will incur judgment. I am not saying that you have to agree with these authorities especially if they are against the Word of God. But I am saying that you should respect them in their appointed positions. Continue to stand for righteousness and be a light in dark places. Believe that God will vindicate you for standing for truth and remaining in love. People of God need to walk in a spirit of excellence and not a spirit of rebellion because our good conduct glorifies God. Titus 3:1 says, “Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work.” Dear Heavenly Father, I exalt you. I honor you. I adore you. Lord, I repent for not honoring those who are in authority. I rebuke the spirit of disobedience off my life. I decree that I am the ambassador of Jesus Christ. I decree that I am the salt of earth and I will not lose my saltiness. I decree that I am a light of this world. I decree that I am a city on a hill whose light cannot be hidden. I will respect those in their appointed positions. Thank you for answering this prayer in Jesus name Amen.

DEALING WITH HURT Marcus and Sally were married for eight years and have two small children together. Over the years they both contributed negatively to their marriage until one day they decided to divorce and go their separate ways. Both Marcus and Sally had extra marital affairs throughout the course of their marriage. Marcus could not forgive Sally, but Sally forgave Marcus. During their divorce, Marcus became bitter, selfish, and vindictive towards Sally. He tried everything inside of himself to destroy Sally’s life but all his plans failed. Marcus’s hate for Sally hindered his relationship with God because he was so busy bad mouthing Sally and taking extra measures to ensure Sally would not succeed in life. Meanwhile, Sally continued to grow close to God during this process. She continued to do what was right no matter what Marcus was doing or saying about her. She used her pain to help encourage other broken women, while Marcus used his pain to hurt other people. God opened many doors to Sally. She is a successful doctor, she has worldwide ministry, and a loving husband who loves Sally as Christ loves the church. Marcus on the other hand, is still stuck where he was years ago because he harbored all that anger in his heart that it impacted all his future relationships. He is single and very unhappy in his life. He is full of regrets about the way he treated Sally and

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

wishes he could have done things differently with her. Are you a Marcus or Sally? Do you encourage other people even though you are hurting or do you tear them down because you hurt? Have you ever heard the saying “Hurt people hurt People”? Well that’s not always true if you have the love of God inside your heart. With God “hurt people can encourage people”. Marcus did not allow God to take away his pain instead he took measures into his own hands and he became distance from God. Sally on the other hand, surrendered everything she had to God and he blessed her tremendously for it in his perfect timing. Proverbs 26:27 says,” Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.” Marcus’s plans to ruin Sally’s life failed and he ended up ruining his life. Proverbs 16:25 says, “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” Marcus’s ways resulted in him becoming spiritually dead because he longer had a relationship with God even though Marcus portrayed himself as a Christian, his heart was far from God. Luke 14:27 says, Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” When you are hurting, God wants you to trust him, live righteously, and praise him through your situation because it is just a test and temporary. He will see you through it and bless you for your troubles if you stay faithful to

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

him. Romans 5:3-5, “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” James 1:2-4, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” 1 Peter 5:10,” And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” So the next time you are suffering from pain and facing a trail in life, will you become a Marcus hurting other people around you not realizing that you are only destroying yourself? Or will you become a Sally, being used by God at your lowest point in life and later becoming exalted and blessed for it? Let’s pray: Father God, I come boldly to your throne. Lord it seems like life around me is falling apart and everything is out of control. Lord I know you are in control because of Isaiah 43:2 says,” When I pass through the waters, You will be with me; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm me; when I walk through fire I shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume me.” Psalms 34:19 says, “Many are

15

the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers me out of them all.” Hebrews 12:11 says, “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken me that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let me be tempted beyond my ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that I may be able to endure it.” Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Lord, I trust that what was meant for evil you will change it to something good just like you did for Joseph. Lord, I pray that you will use me as an instrument to help others with their pain instead of tearing them down. Lord, I know this situation is only temporary and destined to change. Lord, I know that you will give me a double portion for my troubles as you did for Job. Lord I thank you that my latter days will be better than my former days. In Jesus name Amen. Scriptures to Mediate on For Comfort: Psalms 23:4 (ESV), Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalms 71:5 (ESV), For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Psalm 86:17(ESV), Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, I thank you so much for your fresh mercy daily. God fill me up with knowledge and wisdom. Colossians 1:9 says, “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law; Yes, I will observe it with my whole heart (Psalm 119:34). For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6).

Thank you Lord, that I am not wise in my own eyes. God I thank you that I abstain from all forms of evil. Proverbs 18:15 (ESV) says, “An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” Proverbs 2:10 (ESV) says, “For wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.” Proverbs 1:7 (ESV) says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Thank you, Lord, for answering this prayer in Jesus’s Name. Amen. OPEN DOORS TO THE GOSPEL Dear Heavenly Father,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

I thank you for rising up Godly influences everywhere in our communities. Colossians 4:2-4 (NCV) says “I will continue praying, keeping alert, and always thanking God. Also I will pray that God gives us an opportunity to tell people his message. I will pray that we can preach the secret that God has made known about Christ. I will pray that I can speak in a way that will make it clear. “I rebuke any ungodly hindrances that keep people from spreading the Gospel. Revelation 3:8 (ESV) says, “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I

17

know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” First Corinthians 16:9 (ESV) says, “For a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” Philippians 2:13 (ESV) says, “For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” First Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV) says, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” Thank you, Lord, for answering this prayer, in Jesus’s Name. Amen.

18

Are you being attacked because you stand for righteousness? Whenever you begin to live for God the enemy of our souls will cause people to attack you. They will falsely accuse you or betray you, etc. If God is for you, who can be against you? You are blessed because you are suffering for righteousness sake (1 Peter 3:14). Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me (God) (Matthew 5:11-12). If you are suffering, God knows all and sees all. God will fight your battles for you if you keep your peace. You have the victory! Dear Heavenly Father, I will praise your name. Lord, I am suffering for righteousness sake. Lord, I ask for vindication which is my inheritance in the saints. Lord, I thank you for leading me in triumphal victory. I decree that no weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that rises against me I shall condemn. Lord, I thank you that I have the victory everywhere I go. I will not be worried because you have already worked it out. Thank you, Jesus for answering this prayer. Amen. Do you want every promise that the word of God says you can have? Receive the gift of righteousness by faith through Jesus Christ and tap into these promises. Jesus died for your sins so you can become righteous. God withholds no good thing from the righteous (Psalms 84: 11). Those who seek the Lord lacked nothing (Psalms 34:10). What the righteous person desire will be granted (Proverbs 10:24). The righteous will thrive (Proverbs 11:28). God’s blessing is on the righteous (Psalms 5:12). It will be well with the righteous and they will enjoy the fruit (benefits) of their deeds (Isaiah 3:10). Receive this revelation and walk in a new level with God!!! Dear Heavenly Father,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

I know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through him. I repent of my sins and receive him as my personal savior. I accept the free gift of righteousness. I decree that I will seek you first and your righteousness and everything else will be added to me. Thank you, Lord that you hear the prayers of the righteous and deliver us from all our troubles. Thank you, Lord that the righteous are never forsaken or their seed (children) begging for bread. Thank you, Lord that since I am the righteousness of God I will inherit the promise land. Thank you, for answering this prayer, in Jesus’s name. Amen. Do you want to live the victorious life? The righteous have victorious lives. When you look at the kings of the bible, there were a cycle of righteous Kings and evil Kings. When the righteous King ruled, the Kingdom reigned because he honored God. When an evil King reigned, the nation would fall apart and degenerate. Righteousness will rule and reign. You can inherit a mess and your righteousness will turn the situation around and make it beautiful. You can take over some chaotic situations caused by unrighteousness and it will bow its knee to righteousness and become beautiful. Receive this free gift of righteousness by faith through Jesus Christ. Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, I come humbly before your throne and confess my sins. I repent Lord. Jesus I ask that you come into my heart and reign. Lord, I take the free gift of righteousness and I thank you for it. I decree that I will reign victorious in life because I am the righteousness of God. I decree and declare that I will have the victory everywhere I go. I decree that no weapon formed against me shall prosper in the name of Jesus. Thank you, that I have been set free because who the son sets free is free indeed. Thank you, for answering this prayer, in Jesus’s name. Amen.

AGGRESSIVE Aggressive: According to Webster, this emotion is characterized by tending toward unprovoked offensives, attacks, invasions, or the like. It is also defined as competitive, boldly assertive, and pushy. Does this emotion describe you today? Do you react without thinking about the situation first? This emotion if not balanced can disrupt your life. God can help you overcome this emotion if you submit to his will. He can transform you and make you into a brand new person. Don’t live life flying off the handle while only thinking about your-self. Will you truly have a sense of inner peace and happiness that will last when you live selfishly? Only peace and joy from the Lord is everlasting. Dear Heavenly Father, “You have rescued me! I will celebrate and shout; singing praises to you with all my heart (Psalm 71:23 CEV).” Lord, I repent for being too aggressive. Your word gives many warnings about not walking with the right attitude. A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention (ESV Proverbs 15:18). Lord, bless me to walk in love because Proverbs 10:12 says “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.” Proverbs 26:21 (ESV) says,” As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.” Proverbs 30:33 (ESV) says, “For pressing milk produces curds, pressing the nose produces blood, and pressing anger produces strife.” Put on me the mind of Christ today. I declare that I will not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of my

19

mind, that I may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). I declare Galatians 5:24 over my life: And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. God bless me to produce the fruits of the spirit which is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). I decree and declare that I shall be blessed and be called the sons of God because I am a peacemaker (Matthew 5:9). I decree and declare that I will be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger as in James 1:19. Thank you Lord for being a God of peace and not a God of disorder (1 Corinthians 14:33). Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV) says, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Luke 6:35 (NKJV) says, “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the most high; for he is kind to the unthankful and evil.” Proverbs 11:17 says, “The merciful man does good for his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.” I declare Galatians 6:10 over my life that in every opportunity I will do good to everyone, especially to those of the household of faith. I declare that I will not repay evil for evil, reviling for reviling, but will bless others so that I may obtain a blessing (1 Peter 3:9). I declare 1 John 3:18 that I will not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. I decree and declare that I will put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony (Colossians 3:14). Thank you Lord for blessing me to overcome this emotion in Jesus name Amen.

Anatomy Terms Anatomy is the science of body structures and the relationships among structures. Physiology is the science of body functions. The human body consists of six levels of structural organization: chemical, cellular, tissue, organ, system, and organismal levels. These are the basic structural and functional living units of an organism and the smallest living units in the human body. Tissues are groups of cells and the materials surrounding them that work together to perform a particular function. Organs are composed of two or more different types of tissues; they have specific functions and usually have recognizable shapes. Systems consist of related organs that have a common function. An organism is any living individual. Homeostasis is a condition of equilibrium in the body’s internal environment produced by the interplay of all the body’s regulatory processes. Body fluids are dilute, watery solutions. Intracellular fluid is inside cells, and extracellular fluid is outside cells. Interstitial fluid is the ECF

that fills spaces between tissue cells, whereas plasma is the ECF within blood vessels. The components of a feedback system are (1) receptors that monitor changes in a controlled condition and send input to (2) a control center that sets the value at which a controlled condition should be maintained, evaluates the input it receives from receptors, and generates output commands when they are needed, and (3) effectors that receive output from the control center and produce a response (effect) that alters the controlled condition. If a response reverses the original stimulus, the system is operating by negative feedback. If a response enhances the original stimulus, the system is operating by positive feedback. ism:

There are eleven systems of the human organ-

head level and the eyes facing directly forward. The feet are flat on the floor and directed forward, and the arms are at the sides, with the palms turned forward. A body lying face down is prone, whereas a body lying face up is supine. Coronal Plane- separates the body into front and back halves. Sagittal Plane- separates the body into left and right halves. Transverse Plane- separates the body into superior and inferior halves. Spaces in the body that help protect, separate, and support internal organs are called body cavities. The dorsal and ventral cavities are the two principal body cavities. The dorsal cavity is subdivided into the cranial cavity, which contains the brain, and the vertebral canal, which contains the spinal cord. The meninges are protective tissues that line the dorsal cavity. The ventral body cavity is subdivided by the diaphragm into a superior thoracic cavity and an inferior abdominopelvic cavity. The viscera are organs within the ventral body cavity. The thoracic cavity is subdivided into three smaller cavities: a pericardial cavity, which contains the heart, and two pleural cavities, which contain the lungs. The central portion of the thoracic cavity is the mediastinum. It contains all thoracic viscera except the lungs. The abdominopelvic cavity is divided into a superior abdominal & an inferior pelvic cavity. Viscera of the abdominal cavity include the stomach, spleen, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine, and most of the large intestine. Viscera of the pelvic cavity include the urinary bladder, portions of the large intestine, and internal organs of the reproductive system. Serous membranes line the walls of the thoracic and abdominal cavities and cover the organs. They include the pleura, associated with the lungs; the pericardium, associated with the heart; and the peritoneum, associated with the abdominal cavity. REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

Meet Evangelist Reynaldo Rodriguez I was borne January 4th, 1970 in Centro Medico (Medical Center), in the city of Rio Piedras Puerto Rico. When I was inside forming in my mother’s womb (Meiosis and Mitosis), my mother suffered an inside infection producing in the forming fetus a condition called Nephritis. The doctors told my mom that infection was going to affect my central nervous system. I was not going to be able to speak normally, and basically I was going to be like a vegetable and die at early age. I am 44 years old today, and thank GOD, I’m still alive. The doctor suggested my mother to abort me since the possibilities of having a normal life were doomed. My mother said to the doctor if GOD sent him this way, it has to be for a purpose. I’m not going to harm him. In one occasion JESUS said (talking about a disease: Is for the glory of GOD), that was my case. I was borne with out the complications the doctors said. I have a deep sense of respect for healthcare professionals. The discipline they elicit at the time of studying medicine impact in the anatomy and physiology of our bodies is inspirational. Some of these folks study 12 years to become the best in their respective professions but sometimes there are limits in boundaries where not even medicine can deliver physical healing. That is when GOD arrives like a powerful giant, His name is JESUS. I was borne without the “dooms scenario of judgment day” predicted to my mother by the doctors. GOD had a better plan and said: “Ok medicine you

had your opportunity, now is my turn to step up to the plate and deliver excellence” and the GOD that fed a multitude of 5,000 people with just 2 fishes and three pieces of bread, walked in top of the waters, and divided a Red SEA, made the impossible one more time. The results? I was borne without the complications I was sentenced. Thanks to JESUS, And now my life song sings… If I’m going to boast, I’m going to boast in Christ As a children I was able to play with my toys and ride my bicycle. Why is this aspect of my life story important, because remember the doctors said I was not going to be able to do the things I did. Sometimes men place limits in the life of all of us, but when those plans do not go parallel with the story GOD pointed for your life since the foundation of the world, GOD has a unique way of twisting things and placing them in the right place and spot, in order to assist us to meet HIM at the middle completing in our lives HIS PERFECT WILL. My parents had a brilliant idea. My mother ask GOD one day in prayer I need a place where the spiritual needs of my three sons can be met. I grew up and raise in the church environment where as a child I was spiritual fostered and protected. There I learned all the stories of the Old Testament heroes. Samson, Jonah, David, etc. I was impressed when I discovered that GOD ordered Moses to

extend his shaft dividing the Red Sea. I was very impressed with that story. For an entire month I was Moses and walked with a mopping stick I have borrowed from my mother without her knowledge. My mother’s went crazy trying to figure what has happened to the mop every time she needed to map and I was dividing the Red Sea to save the people of Israel from the oppression of pharaoh and Egypt.

never going to be able to do anything productive with my life. GOD had another plan for my life. Time flew like the birds in the sky, I grew up. Became an adult. As a child I always wanted to serve in the United States Army. It was my life’s dream. An uncle who served in the Vietnam conflict as an Airborne Ranger that answered to the name of Tio Diego looked so sharp and handsome in his uniform that I wanted to become an Airborne Ranger like he was.

I had a lot of fun dividing the big water. NALDO, my mother screamed every time! Where is the mop stick? Mom, I’m saving the people of Israel, all I need is 5 more minutes and the Red Sea will be divided, then you can map! All I need is another 5 minutes!

The go anywhere soldiers. Rangers go and fight in any kind of terrain, any kind of weather. No matter the harsher conditions the environment is, Rangers go the distance and complete the task at hand. They get the job done. The most discipline troops in the United States Army:

After a month I divorce myself from Moses and became David because it was a lot of fun to kill with a flying stone a giant called Goliath in order to save the people of Israel from Goliath, the monster. At that point I did not realize the sense of infant joy of being able to save the people of Israel that this feeling came from GOD’s throne of grace. Now I understand it was GOD’s himself with HIS signature of love and grace pointing my future route to be followed finalizing my call for ministry. The same I ran away from, like Jonah the prophet did one day. And now my life song sings! My story is a work in progress… “The Eternal Lord is my strength! He has made my feet like the feet of a deer; He allows me to walk on high places.” As a teenager people saw me acting in some manners and address my mother saying I was

R ecognizing that I volunteered as a ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my ranger regiment. Acknowledging the fact that a ranger is a more elite soldier, who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a ranger, my country expects me to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other soldier. N ever shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong, and morally straight, and I will shoulder more than my share of the task, whatever it may be, one hundred percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress, and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the ranger objective and complete the mission, though I be the lone survivor. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

Eventually, I joined the enlisted ranks of the Army as an enlisted soldier, not as a Ranger but in the Special Forces as a Psychological Operations soldier, however I also recognize that as a christian

and spiritual leader I discern these same attributes of the Ranger in my spiritual journey with the LORD. In PSYOPS we serve as a bridge between Military Intelligence providing information to the Special Operations Green Berets. In order to be able to perform my duties I needed a secret security clearance. The government made a full investigation of my life before they granted my secret security clearance. Basically what that means is that I am a person who can be blindly trusted. If you invite me to your house and tell me Reynaldo, I’m going on vacation and I will leave this $5 million dollars in the table, because I’m confident I will find them when I return, you can rest assure you will find the money there right where you left it. Higher ethics and morals in the universe of my mind and soul is the law of the land. I live and will always live by these principles.

In a time where indecency and corruption in people serve as their daily bread, people like me we are dinosaurs, we are scarcely in the path of extinction. My reputation is everything, therefore it is my north to be followed. It is to live in such a way that if anyone should speak badly of me no one would believe it. “It does not concern me the yelling of the violent, the corrupted, dishonest, and unethical people….What really concerns me is the silence of the good people”. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King In PSYOPS I was exposed to an unfamiliar world up this point in my life a mystery. The expression “For your eyes only” define my existence of that period of time. I was granted knowledge to secrets that until these days I will take with me to my death. All I can say is James Bond stuff and is all very cool. Meeting with officials of the CIA for briefings in the course of this country national security threats, learning about other countries and their aggressive unfriendly intentions to the western hemisphere of the New world stimulated my curiosity. After a while I decided to return to civilian life and GOD had another adventure for me down the road. It felt as GOD taught me Rey, I know how much you love this country and the Constitution and Thomas Jefferson. I knew since the beginning of the world, he was going to become your favorite founding father. He was a man of the 21st century living in the 18th, a visionary and author of the Bill of Rights. He was also Christian from the Lutheran faith and an avid reader and fan of Paul the apostle. Before I was even borne, Thomas Jefferson taught me to love Paul the apostle the same way with the same passion and fervor he did. He was from Virginia and loved Monticello with his entire heart. A devout scientific mind, read books like eating with hunger the bread of knowledge. Founder of the University of Virginia because as a lawyer he understood the need for Americans to receive an education. Time forgot the slow fly of it’s content and God opened another door of opportunity and allow me to serve driving as a living all over this country, because He taught Rey yo are willing to die for this United States of America for the people, so I will allow you to see the country you were willing to defend and die for. “There is no greater love than this, that a man is willing to die for his friends.” Keep singing LORD, please keep singing. In 2003 I became an over the road truck driver. Drove all over 48 states. The most beautiful ones are California and Colorado. The best one is Texas, remember we have the Dallas Cowboys

That is the real Paramount of my efforts as a truck driver, and what brings extreme happiness to my life. Spiritual Beings Created in the Image of God Reynaldo Rodriguez We are also spiritual beings who are created in the image of God. This part of what it is to be human, and all of these human qualities, require resources to sustain them. The body needs food and water. As persons or personalities, we need to feel significant, secure and accepted. We need to love and be loved. As spiritual beings, we need a relationship with God. It is these needs that are in view when James says that we are drawn away by our own desires. We have needs that we desire to have met. This should happen as intended by our Creator. These needs and the desire to meet them were present in the Garden of Eden before sin entered the picture. The desires are not bad. They do not constitute a sinful nature. They were there when God created Adam and Eve. But Satan has many suggestions as to how those desires can be met in many ways contrary to what God originally intended. We have noted how human cultures have tended to degenerate spiritually so that the world today is often an enemy of Christian growth and maturity. In a similar manner, our flesh has been programmed to live independently of God. After the fall, Adam and Eve lost their relationship with God, so they sought to find identity and purpose for life apart from God. Learning to live our lives independently of God is what led to the downward course of human culture. Culture is defined most simply as “learned and shared human behavior.” Almost everything that we humans do is learned. We come into this life with very few instinctive behaviors, in contrast to animals, which come with a high level of instinctive behavior. Not only are we able to learn, we are able to pass on that learning. Animals can’t do that. Dogs can be taught to be Seeing Eye dogs for the blind, for example, but no veteran guide dog has ever written a book about it or set up a school to train other guide dogs. Every new generation of dogs starts from scratch. Human beings, however, can write books and teach others what they have learned, and that is what produces what we call culture. Culture is the accumulation or learned ideas and behaviors good and bad, right and wrong that are passed down from one generation to the next within societies that share a common heritage. In the western hemisphere of the New World, the melting pot E Pluribus, one nation of many nations called the United States, the status quo of our modern cultures are the result of learning and cultural borrowing from places and peoples all over the world. It is essentially the part of culture that passes on learned evil that the Bible calls the world. Most societies place a high priority on having their members conform to the accepted cultural beliefs and practices of those societies. One is accepted and affirmed by a society to the extent that one meets the expectations of that society. A popular contemporary term for this is peer pressure, which can function to promote what is good, but also promote what is evil. In primitive societies this pressure to conform was fairly uniform throughout the tribe or nation involved. As civilizations have developed and living patterns have become more urban, we have developed many subcultures, and the pressure to conform comes from these subcultures rather than from a unified society as a whole. The modern frustration is “I wish I could be a nonconformist like everyone else.” To be more accurate, however, one would need to say, “like everyone else in my subculture.” This is the negative connotation of what the Bible calls “the world.” It is a world that has unfortunately taken its lead of this world rather than from the one true Creator God. In all too many cases, God is systematically left out of our culture. He is relegated to a heaven that has little contact with Earth, or He is replaced by a different god. Paul call him, “the god of this age,” “Since we are joined together in this ministry as a result of the mercy shown to all of us by God, we do not become discouraged. Instead, we have renounced all the things that hide in shame; we refuse to live deceptively or use trickery; we do not pollute God’s Word with any other agenda. Instead, we aim to tell the truth plainly, appealing to the conscience of every person under God’s watchful eye. Now if our gospel remains veiled, it is only veiled from those who are lost and dying, because the evil god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers. As a result the light of the good news, the radiant glory of the Anointed—who is the very image of God—cannot shine down on them. We do not preach about ourselves. The subject of all our sermons is Jesus, the Anointed One. He is Lord and Master of all. For Jesus’ sake we are here to serve you. The God who spoke light into existence, saying, “Let light shine from the darkness,”is the very One who sets our hearts ablaze to shed light on the knowledge of God’s glory revealed in the face of Jesus, the Anointed One. But this beautiful treasure is contained in us—cracked pots made of earth and clay—so that the transcendent character of this power will be clearly seen as coming from God and not from us. We are cracked and chipped from our afflictions on all sides, but we are not crushed by them. We are bewildered at times, but we do not give in to despair. We are persecuted, but we have not been abandoned. We have been knocked down, but we are not destroyed. We always carry around in our bodies the reality of the brutal death and suffering of Jesus. As a result, His resurrection life rises andreveals its wondrous power in our bodies as well. For while we live, we are constantly handed over to death on account of Jesus so that His life may be revealed even in our mortal bodies of flesh. So death is constantly at work in us, but life is working in you. We share the same spirit of faith as the one who wrote the psalm, “I believed; therefore I spoke.” We also believe, and that belief leads us to acknowledge that the same God who resurrected the Lord Jesus will raise us with Jesus and will usher us all together into His presence. All of this is happening for your good. As grace is spread to the multitudes, there is a growing sound of thanks being uttered by those relishing in the glory of God. So we have no reason to despair. Despite the fact that our outer humanity is falling apart and decaying, our inner humanity is breathing in new life every day. You see, the short-lived pains of this life are creating for us an eternal glory that does not compare to anything we know here. So we do not set our sights on the things we can see with our eyes. All of that is fleeting; it will eventually fade away. Instead, we focus on the things we cannot see, which live on and on. Jesus’ death is the means to new life for others. Similarly when believers suffer for others as Jesus did, their suffering is an avenue for God’s life to transform situations.

Spirit Versus Flesh Reynaldo Rodriguez

But what about the flesh? Doesn’t the Bible say that this is where the battle is really fought? In Galatians 5, Paul says the struggle is between spirit and the flesh, not between spirit and Satan. James tells us that we are drawn away by our own desires, not by a demon, “No one who is tempted should ever be confused and say that God is testing him. The One who created us is free from evil and can’t be tempted, so He doesn’t tempt anyone. When a person is carried away with desire, lured by lust, and when desire becomes the focus and takes control, it gives birth to sin. When sin becomes fully grown, it produces death.” (James 1: 13 – 15). Yes, the battle is fought at the level of our flesh; so we need to define flesh carefully. The term flesh, like the term world, can be used in several different ways. A frequently used Greek to English dictionary lists eight different meanings for the Greek word sarx (flesh). While this may sound a bit intimidating to one who isn’t a Greek scholar, there is a sense in which the meaning all relates to one primary idea. This idea is that we are human beings with physical bodies living in a time space world. The word flesh can mean things related to or part of the body, like flesh and bones, meat, and bodies. Yet we are more than just bodies. We also have personalities that identify us as individuals. Our personalities are made up of our ability to think, feel, and make decisions. The term flesh is used to incorporate all of these ideas. In a sense it is simply a way of saying we are human. The problem is, the flesh is weak, and it has been conditioned to operate independently of God. It is hostile to the Spirit of God that is at work in us, “Here’s my instruction: walk in the Spirit, and let the Spirit bring order to your life. If you do, you will never give in to your selfish and sinful cravings. For everything the flesh desires goes against the Spirit, and everything the Spirit desires goes against the flesh. There is a constant battle raging between them that prevents you from doing the good you want to do.” (Galatians 5: 16 – 17) and that lead us to be totally dependent to God.

The Context of the World By Reynaldo Rodriguez

W

hen we speak of the world in the context of the world, the flesh, and the devil, we are talking about a world full of things designed by Satan to tempt us to meet our legitimate human needs in a manner never intended by the Creator. They are the deceptions that Satan has revised to get us to make bad decisions just as Adam and Eve did in the garden. What that first decision—to listen to Satan rather than to God—a process was begun that has resulted in human cultures that have moved far from the Creator. It began with two people and one wrong decision.

I

t spread to two people, and gradually the process embraced whole nations. So, the world today is a complicated, carefully crafted scheme of Satan to lead people away from God and His good purposes for them and into bondage to the lies of an enemy. This is the world to which we as God’s people are no longer to conform (See Romans 12: 2). Paul puts this in the form of a strong command that could be translated, “Stop conforming to the world”. We have to live our lives in the context of this world, but, as Jesus put it in His high priestly prayer, we are not to be “of the world” (John 17: 16). In a sense, sanctification is the process of freeing ourselves from and keeping ourselves free from the corrupting influences of the world. That is the key idea in Jesus prayer for us in John 17.

I

t is also significant that when Jesus prays about our relationship to the world, He links the world and the devil when He says, “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one” (John 17: 15). The idea that sometimes we are just dealing with the world misses the fact that Satan is the one who fabricated this complex of temptations and who is in his own deceptive way pushing us to yield to those temptations. Jesus seemed to assume this relationship when He taught His disciples to pray. “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6: 13). We are told to avoid, even to “flee” from, places and circumstances that lead to temptation,

Shun fornication! Every sin that a person commits is outside the body; but the fornicator sins against the body itself, or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body” (1 Corinthians 6: 18 – 20). “But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness” (1 Timothy 6: 11). “Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” (2 Timothy 2: 22), but when temptation is happening, we are to resist the enemy, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand

firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,” (Ephesians 6: 10 – 18),

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4: 7), “But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.” (1 Peter 5: 9). Satan is smart enough not to make himself too obvious. He comes to us dressed in his Satan suit only when he wants to scare us, and that is one of his tactics. But more often he comes as an angel of light, or he sends one of his henchmen dressed as a “minister of righteousness” “Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.” (2 Corinthians 11: 15). Deception is his game. He is a con man. Paul uses the image of a trap in writing to Timothy. Traps are set to deceive animals into thinking that something good—the bait—is available to them without recognizing that it is attached to a trigger that will spring the trap.

P

aul says that some people in the church have fallen into the “trap of the devil” and are doing what he wants rather than what God wants. They have fallen for the bait that there is a way other than God’s to meet their legitimate needs. Paul makes it clear that the way out of the trap is “the truth” “correcting opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth, and that they will escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2: 25 – 26). The fact that truth is the way out of the trap implies that lies are the trap or at least the bait in the trap. We are deceived into thinking that we can sin without having to suffer the consequences.

Understanding The Disease and Pathophysiology: Chronic Kidney Disease The primary functions of the kidneys include maintenance of homeostasis through the control of fluid, pH, and electrolyte balance and blood pressure; excretion of metabolic end-products and foreign substances, and the production of enzymes and hormones1. The kidneys maintain homeostasis by urine formation. Urine formation occurs in three processes in the renal tubules: glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption, and tubular secretion. The last step is urine excretion out of the nephron into the renal pelvis, into the ureter to the bladder, and to the urethra and out the body1. Urine formation begins when the systemic blood enters into the afferent arteriole in the glomerulus to get filtered. The glomerulus is a special type of capillary and composed of large fenestration which filters large proteins and blood cells1. Blood is carried from the glomerulus to the efferent arteriole to the renal artery. Meanwhile, the Bowman’s capsule surround the glomerulus collects the glomerular filtrate and enters the proximal tubule1. In the proximal tubule, aldosterone acts on it to reabsorb sodium back into the surrounding peritubular capillaries1. The filtrate then enters into the loop of henry to establish an osmotic gradient to produce various urine concentrations1. Next, the filtrate enters into the distal tubule and the collecting duct which connect to the renal pelvis1. In the distal tubule and collection duct, reabsorption of sodium and water and secretion from the peritubular capillaries of potassium and hydrogen occurs. Vasopressin works on the collection ducts to increase or decrease absorption of water to maintain blood pressure1. The kidneys control the pH by controlling the level of hydrogen and bicarbonate ions that are reabsorbed or secreted1. Bicarbonate ions are a buffer that resists changes in the pH. The kidneys secrete hydrogen ions that combine with bicarbonate that forms carbonic acid that dissolves to form carbon dioxide and water1. Bicarbonate ions are regenerated when water is release and carbon dioxide is reabsorbed1. The kidneys control the electrolyte balance by reabsorbing ions our bodies need and secreting ions are bodies want to get rid of. For example, if the serum sodium levels are elevated, sodium is exchange with potassium1. The kidneys maintain the body’s blood pressure and cardiac output by hormones such as vasopressin or ADH1. The kidneys produce urine which excretes waste products which includes uric acid, creatinine, urea, drugs, and environmental toxins1. Lastly the kidneys produces enzymes and hormones such as renin (renin-angiotensin pathway), 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol (active form of vitamin D), and erythropoietin (stimulates red blood cell production)1.Diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and glomerulonephritis are some disease that can lead to chronic kidney disease1. Other factors include prolonged use of pain killers (aspirin, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen), forceful blow to the kidneys, hereditary polycystic kidney disease (PKD), and a family history of chronic kidney disease1. Certain ethnicities are more likely to develop chronic kidney disease than others. Hispanic Americans and Native Americans are twice as likely to develop chronic kidney disease as non-white Hispanics1. African Americans are four times as likely to develop kidney failure as white Americans1. Complications of secondary hyperparathyroidism can lead to kidney disease. This is when the kidneys can no longer convert inactive vitamin D into its active form resulting in a limiting amount of intestinal calcium reabsorption1. Next, the damage kidney creates an imbalance in the blood since they can’t reabsorb the calcium and excrete the phosphorus1. Subsequently, the phosphorus stimulate the continually release of parathyroid hormone and there is an increase in urinary excretion of phosphorus1. Traces of microalbuminuria in a urinalysis, increase creatinine levels, and a low glomerular filtration rate (GFR) greater or equal to 601 are some laboratory conditions that can lead to chronic kidney disease. When the kidneys are unable to maintain normal homeostasis functions then edema, metabolic acidosis, hyperkalemia, anemia, uremia, azotemia, hyperphosphatemia, oliguria, hypertension, bone and mineral disorders (renal osteodystrophy) results1. People with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes have an increased risk of chronic kidney disease1. If blood sugars are not controlled, hyperglycemia and changes in the basement membrane of the glomerulus can cause diabetic nephropathy1. When the glomerulus changes in structure, abnormal amount of albumin is excreted into the urine1. As diabetic nephropathy progresses, the number of glomeruli are destroyed, the function of the nephron declines, and the amount of solutes cleared by the kidney is limited1. These changes results in azotemia and uremia1.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

There are five stages of chronic kidney disease. Stage 1 consists of kidney damage with normal or increase glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of greater or equal to 90 mL/min/1.73m2. Most people in stage 1 are being tested and treated for other comorbid conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure. These patients are usually asymptomatic. Stage 2 consists of kidney damage with mild decrease in GFR of 60-89 mL/min/1.73m2. Stage 1 and 2 have the same signs such as abnormal urinalysis of with out of range levels of creatinine, urea, blood, and protein1. Stage 3 consists of moderate decrease in GFR of 30-59 mL/min/1.73m2. In stage 3, the kidney function declines resulting in a buildup of waste products and toxins in the blood2. Uremia, high blood pressure, anemia, and early bone disease are some signs of stage 3 chronic kidney disease2. Stage 4 consists of severe decrease in GFR of 15-29 mL/min/1.73m2. Patients in stage 4 are preparing for a kidney transplant or receiving dialysis2. Some signs of this stage include complications of hypertension, uremia, anemia, bone disease, heart disease, and cardiovascular diseases2. Stage 5 consists of kidney failure and GFR is less than 15 mL/min/1.73m2. Patients in stage 5 or end stage renal disease will need dialysis or a kidney transplant because their kidneys can no longer remove waste and fluids effectively2. These patients experience loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, headaches, fatigue, trouble concentrating, itching, no or little urine production, edema, muscle cramps, tingling in hands or feet, changes in skin color, and increased skin pigmentation2.

benefits of using different types of proteins for these patients. Restructured and enhanced meats such as chicken nuggets, hotdogs, carp, beef liver, fish roe, oysters, crayfish, chicken liver, organ meats and sardines have phosphorus additives1. Beverages such as ale, chocolate drinks, drinks made with milk, canned iced teas, beer, cocoa, dark colas are also known to have high phosphorus addictives1. Dairy products such as cheese, custards, cream soups, cottage cheese, ice cream, pudding, yogurt are often enhanced with phosphorus additives1. Some vegetables with high phosphorus includes dried beans, dried peas, baked beans, chick peas, kidney beans, lima beans, pork n beans, soy beans, black beans, garbanzo beans, lentils, northern beans, and split peas1. Lastly, foods such as bran cereals, caramels, seeds, whole grain products, brewer’s yeast, nuts, and wheat germ are also high in phosphorus1. Patients should drink cold beverages that are less sweet only when thirsty to quench their thirst when following a fluid restriction1. These patients should also keep their mouths moisten by using sour candy or gum in addition to swishing their mouths with low alcohol mouthwash when thirsty1. Lastly, adding lemon juice to ice cubes or water will help with thirst1.The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) measures kidney function, estimate the severity of kidney disease, and monitor kidney disease progression1. It reflects the clearance or the volume of plasma cleared of a particular solute in a given time by the glomeruli1. The normal GFR is 135-200 liters per day and 99% of the filtrate is reabsorbed with urine output measuring 1-2 liters per day1. Other than GFR calculators, two equations used to estimate GFR are the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) and Cockcroft-Gault. Cockcroft-Gault accurately reflects creatinine clearance by considering the effects of age, sex, and body weight. GFR={(140-age) x body weight (kg) x 0.85 if female}/ { 72 x serum creatinine (mg/ dL)}

Treatment options for stage 5 chronic renal disease include hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation. Both types of dialysis require a selective semipermeable membrane that allows passage of water and small and medium size ions but not large proteins1. In order for a patient with stage 5 chronic renal disease to receive an kidney transplant, the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) on the donor organ must match the MHC on the recipient’s immunological characteristics1. If the recipient and donor MHC antigens do not match then the recipient will reject the transplanted organ.

MDRD is considered the gold standard of measurement because it incorporates the influence of age, gender, race, and three biochemical measures1.

In hemodialysis, permanent access to the circulatory system is by an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) which is done surgically1. AVF is done in the forearm by joining the radial artery and cephalic vein1. Once the AVF is placed, it takes 4 to 6 weeks to become functional1 and allows repeated punctured by needle sticks for dialysis treatment. The needle is connected to tubes which passes the blood into the dialyzer that contains a dialyzer membrane that contains an electrolyte content similar to normal plasma1. This results in the removal of waste products in the blood and the filtered blood returns to the venous side of the body1.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. This scripture implies that God has only given us one body in this life time and we have to take care of it. God has giving us strength by his spirit to make the best decisions when it comes to our health. We should treat are physical bodies as holy and take care of it by proper exercise and nutrition. When working with people who have chronic kidney disease, I would encourage them to limit their fluids, phosphorus, and sodium intake.

In peritoneal dialysis, access to the circulatory system is gained via a catheter of silicone rubber or polyurethane placed surgically into the peritoneal cavity1. The dialysate is introduced into the peritoneum through the peritoneal catheter and solutes from the plasma in the vessels perfusing the peritoneal wall across the peritoneal membrane1. This fluid is considered waste and discarded. Patients with chronic kidney disease have a higher recommended value of 1.2 grams of protein/ kg body weight if they are receiving hemodialysis1. At least 50% of protein should be of high biological value1. Animal sources usually have more protein content compared to plant sources3. Therefore there aren’t potential

GFR= 170 x serum creatinine-0.999 x age-0.176 x (0.762 if female) x(1.20 if black race) x BUN-0.17 x serum albumin0.320. Native Americans are nearly two times as likely to develop kidney failure as nonHispanic whites1. Type 1 or Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus is the leading cause of renal failure in Pima Indians, among whom the incidence of end stage renal disease is 23 times that of the general U.S. population4. Additional predictors include high blood pressure, level of glycemia, duration of diabetes, family history of diabetic nephropathy, and type of diabetes treatment4.

Sinner’s Prayer

Jesus was crucified on the cross just for you! He suffered so much for your healing, sorrows, and sins. He went around doing every good work, healing people and casting out demons. He took thirty nine lashes. He wore a crown of thorns. He was spat on, falsely accused, and beaten. Will you let him in your heart today? Take a few seconds and pray this short prayer. Your life will never be the same.

Lord, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. Romans 10:19 says, “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. “ I make you Lord and Savior of my life. Lord, I desire to have a relationship with you. Lord, I confess any sins of ___________. I repent Lord. Wash me in your blood in Jesus name Amen. Congratulations! If you read this prayer, welcome to the body of Christ. The angels in heaven are rejoicing. Get connected to a local bible based church and get with someone who will hold you accountable.

Prophetic Encouragement These are the words giving to Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves by the Holy Spirit during her prayer time. WORD OF WISDOM: You might not understand how God will bring things together for you, but just surrender all the doubt, worry, and fear and say “ I trust you Lord”. Continue to think on the great things that God has done for you in the past. God takes care of His children. You are coming into a new season. Everything you’ve been praying for is about to manifest!! ‪#‎Thank God In Advance‬‬‬ WORD OF WISDOM: Rest. The things you are worried about, let it go. Trust God. Don’t lose sleep over something you have no control over. God never sleeps. While you are sleeping, God is working on your behalf. Psalm 121:3 says, “He will not let your foot be moved;he who keeps you will not slumber.”

I want your full attention in this season. Things are changing in the atmosphere. This is a time to seek my face like never before. I will be a shield and covering for my people. Prepare yourself with prayer and consecration in this season. This season is an appointed time for my glory to be released. God says trust the process. He knows what He is doing. He is preparing you for greatness. Believe the things that God has spoken to you This is your time and season for things to manifest in your life. I have raised up many prophets in the land with the spirit of Elijah upon them to prepare the way for the 2nd coming of my son (Jesus).

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2015

This will be a great season for my people. New spiritual gifts, mantles, callings will be released. The world around us will get darker but my church will shine. Money that has been held up will be released and restoration will be upon my people. Press into me and I will be a guide among my people.

The word that God has spoken over your life will come to pass. Romans 4:21 says, “He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.” Keep the Faith. ‪#‎Believe In God‬‬‬‬ God is behind the scenes lining things up for you ‪#‎Do not Lose Hope‬‬‬‬

The time is now WORD OF WISDOM: To see the miraculous in your life, you need to recognize who you are in Jesus Christ, have the right mind-set, and exercise your faith. Your faith is a force to be reckon with and will move the hand of God in your situation. Make your daily confessions, it will surely come to pass. Genesis 18:14 says, “Is any thing too hard for the Lord?” Your blessing is on the horizon. Keep pressing forward!! WORD OF WISDOM: God says He is looking at your attitude during the storm. Are you going to keep the right attitude when things don’t go your way? Or are you going to throw a hissy fit? We are commanded to be of good cheer because in the end we know we have the victory in Jesus Christ. Like God always tells me, “If you trust me, then why cry and be worried.” Pass the attitude test. God is watching your response. John 16:33 says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.”

God says no more compromise. He is releasing judgment upon the land. It’s a time for fasting and praying. Don’t give in to the lusts of your flesh. Faith is for the now. When I asked what does that mean, God said that every passing moment you must use faith. That means every second, minute, hour throughout the day, and every day you must use faith because it never gets old. Faith is for the now. Do you think that I will allow the enemy to defeat you? Tell the enemy who you are in my son Jesus and speak my word. The possibilities are endless. It is time to rise up and fight in these last days. My son Jesus is soon to return. It is time for my people to walk in their Kingship and the authority that Jesus Christ gave them. I am with you. I am for you. I am looking for faithful servants who want to be a friend.

Let’s Give The Devil A Black Eye!

Testimonies

When we share our testimonies, our faith increases! We start to believe God for the impossible! We can see the power and the hand of God in any situation. God can turn any test into a testimony! We know if God did it before, he can do it again. Our testimonies glorify God! Praise Report!! In the School of The Supernatural course, we were taught about making faith confession for at least 15 minutes daily. To give you my background, I barely work. I worked last 9/5 and before that 7/23. So applying the faith principles have been working. I made faith decrees every day for one week: I was confessing and thanking God that I had new tires on my car. Then 1 week later. My friend from Denver came down and he put new tires on my truck. It was his suggestion. I needed new tires months ago. My tires were bald and driving like that is very dangerous. But God kept me. I am so thankful. -Kimberly, Colorado I just want to share my praise report. I haven’t worked since 9/5 but God is providing for me. My rent was passed due and this morning the landlord was banging on my door. Immediately I felt fear trying to rise over me. But I fell on my face before God and repented for operating in fear and asked him for help. Then I started to think about all the things I learned in this school and I felt faith rise up inside of me and began decreeing and declaring the scriptures. Then a couple of hours later, I had all the money in full to pay my rent. When I went to pay my rent, the manager said she turned in the eviction paper work to the attorney but they never got the paperwork. Hearing her say this was a confirmation that God was working for me all along and He was just extending the time for me to get all the money together. God is so good. I hope this encourages someone.-Kimberly, Colorado I was having episodes of Gout, vertigo (dizziness), and hypertension. I was also having trouble with my bladder. It got so bad that I had to take a few days off from work. Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves prayed for me and immediately God healed me. I felt the fire of God on my body and I knew that I was healed. All the pain and dizziness has stopped since then. I am now back to work driving Taxis. -Wayne, North Carolina.

I had some unforgiveness issues towards my father. I had been angry with Him for years for not being there in my childhood. Our relationship is on rocky foundation. I recently got saved but so desperately want my father to be saved since he is up in age. I have found it difficult to forgive my dad at times. I cried and prayed over this issue several times. When I called into the prayer line Saturday morning, Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves called out childhood abandonment. Immediately, I felt something shoot through my body. It was a tingling sensation that went through my heart, arms and legs. I knew that at that moment, God was touching me and healing my hard heart. Since that morning, my heart has been soft and tender towards my father. I believed that God delivered me for unforgiveness. I know that one day, my Father will be saved and know Jesus personally as his Lord and Savior. Stanley, Virginia I had been sick in my body for days. I had night sweats and a swollen throat that wouldn’t go anywhere no matter how much I prayed and rebuked it. I cried out to God and asked Him, “Why am I suffering like this?” I was so desperate for healing but I couldn’t go to the doctor due to not having medical insurance. I had no other choice but to depend on God. I called the prayer line Saturday morning and ask Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves prayed for me, God showed her that my prayers were hitting the ceiling because I haven’t tithed in a long time. I tried to explain why I was unable to pay tithes, but the spirit of the Lord ministered to me. I understood then that I could tithe and I was going to obey the word of the Lord. As soon as I made up my mind to sow a seed, the power of God hit my body. The swelling in my throat disappeared and the pain was gone. Then one minute later, I began to vomit. I had vomited up the spirits that were attacking my body. That has never happened before. I am delivered. I am set free. God heard my prayers. Since I obeyed Him, He moved on my behalf. Mae, FL

I hadn’t sleep well in weeks. I was running on fumes. It didn’t matter how much I tried to rest, I was just so restless. I called the prayer line Saturday morning and Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves called out the spirit of insomnia. Instantly, I felt something break off me. Then I felt lighter and I felt a refreshing. I am now sleeping well at night. I thank God for giving Prophetess a word of knowledge about me. His presence and the anointing felt so good. Michelle Testimony- God is awesome! My husband just got promoted! He had been waiting a couple years now and others less qualified and with less experience, were promoted before Him. Long story short we stopped paying tithes and offering , recently God spoke through Prophetess Kimberly prophesied that my prayers were being hindered because I was robbing God - unintentionally due to the circumstances but nevertheless robbing God. I was obedient and started sowing right away into good fertile ground and God started blessing our family immediately and even delivered me from sickness that was attacking my body and $200 extra appeared in my Bank account to pay for things I desired I’m glad God gave me the mind to sow cheerfully because I can’t beat God giving, He owns everything anyway and I thank Him beyond words for providing all of my family’s needs according to His riches and glory in Jesus Christ! Oh, God also started giving me fresh business ideas! Glory Hal-

lelujah! Give Cesar what belongs to Cesar and give God what belongs to God! -Mae FL Over the last couple of years, I went through the worst trial. My marriage of twenty years fell apart and ended in divorce. My husband left me for another woman. The house that we shared is now on the market and I have nowhere to go. I had been heartbroken because there are so many memories in that house. To make matters worse, my oldest son had gotten diagnosed with bone cancer. I had lost all hope. I didn’t understand why all this bad stuff was happening to our family. My son was no longer able to play hockey. He loves hockey. God told me to call Prophetess Kimberly Hargraves so I obeyed. I told my son that you have to get on this call and have Prophetess Kimberly pray for you. My son agreed. We went inside the car for a few minutes to place the call before we went inside the doctor’s office for his bone scan. When she prayed for him, he felt hot all over and felt heat on his knee. After prayer, we went back inside the doctor’s office to get the bone scan. After several days, the doctor called us into the office. He was scratching his head because he said he had misdiagnosed my son. He said he wasn’t sure that it was cancer looking at the bone scans. I am so thankful that God healed my son. Now my son can go to college and continue to play hockey. My ex-husband was in shocked because God healed my son of cancer. Leila, GA
