BREAK FREE TO COME FORTH Taylur Holland

There is a newness being unearthed. A birthing that is coming forth. Those arising will trigger and steer an entire generation. The sound that will anchor and announce this generation Will be that of chains falling to the ground, Chains that will be gasping for air as they are severed from their source. No more Will they bind the people of God. No more will they blanket and muzzle the mouths of His warriors. No more will these chains cause authority to stumble And crash to the ground. The length of these chains have been

strengthened by Past, But no more will Past have the last laugh, For God will use even it to propel His children into their destiny. There is a new day dawning, A breaking free of men and women who have been hushed for too long. Their chains are being broken, Their mouths are being opened, The fire of God is consuming all doubts and fears. The sound, the sound that will signal the arrival of this people Will be that of chains falling to the ground.

HI-JACKED WHILE HIKING T.N.Vincent

I went hiking on a mountain recently, and all of my senses appeared to be heightened. My physical body was tested, my focus was tried, and my patience was developed. I was walking on white crushed rock, stepping over broken brown twigs, and carrying a brown leather strapped canvas bag full of water bottles, a pillow, and towels. Up and over uneven gravel, stepping on rickety wooden bridges caressed by smooth and rugged rocks, I was prepared to spend some much needed quiet time. You know something supernatural is about to happen when your phone is fully charged, but as soon as you step foot on the mountain, your phone is supernaturally down to percent. My first thought was, “Lord, is this You hi-jacking my phone?” As if to answer my thoughts, an overwhelming sense of

peace came upon me. Again, I was thinking to myself, “I was only going to take a few selfies. It’s beautiful up here. Wow, I’m actually climbing this mountain”. As soon as I reached a fork in the mountain, the atmosphere shifted. I couldn’t hear any other human voices, but the voice of the Holy Spirit was loud and clear. I didn’t see any more signs noting the name of this trail nor how many miles back to the starting point. So I decided to take the path that was less traveled. It didn’t have as many twists and turns. It looked like a faster way to get to the top. I was feeling bold, safe, and adventurous. I knew the Lord was with me. Follow this lesson carefully. I had only taken a couple of steps upward, and then the trail got very dark. I couldn’t see the sun because

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

of the thickness of the trees. Then I heard the Holy Spirit whisper, “Don’t go this way.” I froze. I hesitated thinking it was the enemy trying to delay me from getting to the top. I said, “Fear you are not going to stop me from getting to the top of my destiny.” So I inched forward, but now all of my other yielded senses began to speak to me loud and clear. I knew I had to go the other way. I turned around, and to my surprise, two more steps would have caused me to be entangled into several spider webs. I had been balancing my steps to be sure my feet didn’t slip on the rocks, watching my shoulders and arms for thorns sticking out from trees and ducking from the overgrown bushes. That path would have forced me right into a sticky situation that otherwise could have been avoided. I believed because the Lord was with me, and He had chosen me to go to the top of the mountain, my victory was already guaranteed. This is true, but the Lord knew that the path that looked the easiest was ultimately the most dangerous, and it actually would have taken me longer to get to the top (if it actually went that far-who knows). Most of the time, this is what happens to us in life. We know Christ died for us and shed his blood in seven places, and we have victory in Christ. Wait! You do know that Christ didn’t just shed His blood on Calvary, but He shed His blood seven places, so we have victory in every area of our lives. Ok, that’s another topic of discussion. But because we don’t really understand that our steps are being ordered by the Lord is the G.P.S. (God’s Prophetic, Protection, and Provisional System) to our mountaintop. See, it’s important to develop not just hearing, but seeing, smelling, tasting, touching, and feeling in the Spirit. To get to the top and at the end of your journey most effectively, you need to have ALL SENSES EXERCISED to discern both good and evil (Hebrew 5:14). It was a clear warning from the Holy Spirit, not the spirit of Fear. Once your relationship has elevated to a true

friend of God, and you are no longer sucking on God’s breast, you begin to have face to face encounters with the Creator of the Universe. He will begin to show up in new forms that the immature, or young children of God, will not be able to comprehend. He will show up in the clouds on a daily basis because you expect Him to show up. He will show up in a way that causes you to understand what the birds are singing to Him. He will show up in a way that allows you to encounter the highest-ranking angels, Seraphim, personally. He will show up and sit right next to you in His glorified body and just chat with you. He will show you how to stay on the highest peak and only come down to grab what’s yours and go back up. Obviously, I didn’t want to get stuck in a sticky web situation, so I listened to the Holy Spirit turn by turn instructions up the mountain. I was being led by the Holy Spirit every twist, every step, and every duck of the branch on the path up and down the mountain. “Rest here,” is what I heard in my spirit. Now, I could hear the sound of water. I could hear the rustling of leaves when there was no wind blowing. I could see the leaves swaying back and forth, but there was no wind. Hmmm. Then I actually heard the sound of birds singing, but I never saw them.

My first “thought was,

“Lord, is this you hi-jacking my phone?”

17

18

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

I did see butterflies flying over my head with a unique array of colors. I looked down and saw fire ants, but no webs. As I looked up, there were slightly connecting of trees but an open portal directly to the heavens. As I sat down to listen to the Holy Spirit, God Hi-jacked the Holy Spirit as if to say, “I’ll take it from here.”

#EagleUp and #MountainUp. Live from the highest peak of revelation that comes from intimacy with the Father. Only come down off that mountain top to grab what’s yours and fly right back up to the top. Until they begin to develop all there senses, they will be just like these trees on the mountain.

God said, “My Daughter, what would you do if I sent rain down right now?” I laughed and said, “God, You got jokes.” I thought about it, and I said, “Ok. If you really sent rain right now, I guess I would look for some trees to stand under or find some shelter so I won’t get wet. I’d try to find some leaves or bark to stand on so my feet won’t be in the mud.” He said, “And that’s what most of the believers in Christ are doing in their lives. Your natural instinct is to run from the rain for shelter, but the rain is not a sticky situation like the spider’s web.” “Ok. You are trying to teach me something, God. I’m listening.”

“Some will remain like these hollow trees, but I can still use them for they will show people how to stand, yet they will never bloom the fruit that they were created to bear. For example, hollow believers settle for being healed of arthritis but will live with diabetes. They are standing but are lifeless on the inside and are truly the walking dead. These believers refuse to be filled up and will not listen to My voice because they are afraid of repeating the reward of wrong decisions. I have an abundant life ready for them to live on earth right now, but they are only eating the appetizers of Salvation. Others will be like the broken tree that has laid down its life that you are sitting on right now. These are believers that have given up on their dreams, and they are so broken that they can no longer stand on their own, so they settle for being in a supportive role for the rest of their lives, never to accept their restoration and resurrection. These are the believers that are supposed to take the reigns so that the new babes in Christ can come and learn, but they settle for less than the best. I have an abundant life for them also, and I want them to enjoy life to the fullest.

He said, “You would run deeper into the mountain because the rain appears to make you uncomfortable and appears to make your path slippery and causes you to get wet. My believers in Christ are missing the steps to take when rain hits their lives. The rain would cause you to run into the heart of this mountain to find shelter without even being concerned with what could be in the heart of the mountain. I have to send the rain to get them to move. I need them to run to the heart of me, into my deep love for them. But, instead, they think it’s the enemy blocking their path. They think unemployment was the spirit of sabotage. Since they don’t spend time with Me exercising ALL OF their senses to discern both good and evil, the enemy has figured out their strengths, and they keep going around the mountain instead of up the mountain, reaching the mountaintop and then living from the top. The same way the eagle lives in the air, not on the ground like a chicken or fear the unknown, is how I need My believers in Christ to #AirUp.” In other words, we as believers need to

Now, when you come down off this mountain, tell them to come up here and eat. There’s a full buffet waiting. If they listen to Me, I shall recommend the best meal to eat daily. I have kept the best stuff hidden for them, not from

them.”

My dear believers in Christ, don’t let your sores keep you from soaring. T.N. Vincent Dallas, Tx flowriters@gmail.com

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST By Shirley Cooper

So, who are we in Christ?

end?

Can we still be kind without compromise? Or is that a forbidden fruit?

So what do we do with the little girl next door whose mind isn’t so little? A young girl whose precious flower was taken at an age. Some were still drinking baby bottles or sucking on pacifiers? What do we say to her when she has turned to every man for answers instead of turning to the Savior?

Do we point our fingers at the lesbian and act aggressively towards those who live in that sin? How about the transvestite? How do we handle him? As a rock? Or do we introduce him to “The Rock?” Then there’s the old Nazi neighbor. The one who everyone loves to hate. How do we respond to his hatred? Where does killing him with “kindness” come in and where does it

Most of us are so quick to turn our faces from the things that God despises that we soon forget that these very things are still being held by the people God still loves.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

Yes, He loves ......The homosexual! The transvestite! The murderer! The liar! The unfaithful! The drunk! The prostitute! HE LOVES HIS CREATION! And no matter how much we try to be like Him in righteous judgement.....WE FAIL! At times we even fail God and the mission He put us on. Rather than bring the lost to His feet, we distance our feet from the lost. We become so aware of everyone else’s sins that we forget our own. So how do we love the people that God has called us to without compromising our faith? How do we mix in and share Christ without actually “mixing” in and losing Christ? There’s a fine line that takes us to the limit when dealing in ministry. We just need to find that limit and know exactly when to draw that line. While it’s not easy, it is vital in order to continue to do God’s good work properly, even if we don’t see eye to eye with others. Ministry can be a hard pill to swallow. At times, it can bring us to our knees. Remember that like any job, Kingdom business can drain us. Speaking of which, allow me to introduce to you my first Kingdom business experience where I failed miserably.

Do we point “ our fingers at

was rough, yet soft and firm and without aggression. Weirdly, it was like no other voice I had ever heard before. “I want you to lead the youth.” About as quickly as I heard those words, was about the same speed I dropped my blowdrying skills. It was quick. I looked in the mirror, giggled, and uttered a few words of my own, “Yeah, ok!”

I remember standing in my 10 x 7.5x5 feet wide bathroom and contemplating on whethI obviously didn’t take that voice very serious. er I was hearing voices or not. I mean, me? Me? Lead the youth? “I want you to lead the youth.”

Then it dawned on me!

That’s what the roar of a small, soft-spoken voice uttered into my ear as I blew dry my wet My church had no youth! It was literally “youth teacher-less,” If that’s even a word. It hair in front of a steamed, foggy mirror. was, without a doubt, without a teacher or leader. So maybe that voice was real after all. Wiping the mirror clear of any blur, I continued blow drying my hair until that voice came I mean, this church needed a youth leader, and I wanted my kids in a youth church, and I blasting into my ear once again. The voice

loved youth!

So there you have it. It was that easy, right? Wrong! It was definitely not that easy, and this teacher needed Jesus before she could teach anyone about Kingdom business, especially today’s young people. I did my first youth night, and the only thing that I did right was my heartfelt prayer. I mean, let’s face it, who could mess up prayer, right? However, as the days went on, I tried everything that I believed to be useful for teaching; everything except what they needed. And that’s where I believed that I failed. I went in

thinking this mission was an easy one, but that attitude drowned out what these young teens truly needed: Godly discipline. But that wasn’t all. They needed to know that God isn’t just the disciplinary figure. He is a God who loves them unconditionally and endlessly. They needed to know that their needs and their desires all lay in the arms of Jesus. But in the same token, they too needed to change from the inside out. My first mistake was noticeable. I definitely didn’t understand that not all youth lived the same life. Some were dealing with things, not even an adult could understand. They needed to be understood before they could be introduced. Introducing these hard-knock teens to the loving Christ was like a blade meeting sponge: two totally different walks. No matter, it was a task only with God could it be possible. Not days, but the years went by before I would learn what it meant to truly “teach.” Today, I’m still learning. It’s not easy reading people when you can’t get to their heart. I’ve learned that during my walk with Christ as well. But I did learn through the years that teaching was not the easy task that I thought it would be. Remembering that one fine day that I heard that voice as I stood in front of that foggy, blurred mirror. It was a task that would lead me to many worn-out nights, long arguments with God and powerful “drop to my knees” battle cries, before ever walking someone to the feet of Jesus. In that same scenario, I found that walking anyone to Jesus would be a task. Not a mission impossible, as some might think, but a mission. Although it has happened before, people don’t always wake up changed. It takes a lot of work that requires supernatural supervision. Not just any hands will do. When dealing with those lost, we need to teach Christ-like love first. We need to show

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

others that we don’t come alone, but with God. We also have to understand that some of these people know the Word and know the God we serve, but still choose to live in their sins. Ask yourself: how many ‘Christians’ walk into church today with bagfuls of wrongdoings and still believe they’re a Christian? Did you know that there are homosexual churches? Yes. Some are even believers of Christ. Christian churches at hand. Where is the line drawn there? Do we throw every “right” Scripture in the Bible on their desk? Do we shout out verses that pertain to them at their car window? Do we rip out King James pages on their doorstep? What do we do? Shhhhhhh........ That’s what we need to do until the mission God puts before us is given full direction, “if” that mission is yours at all. Once you have received full instructions from God, then you pray on where and how to start. But before anything moves......LOVE FIRST! The one most important thing that I’ve learned through my ministry is that loving others should never require us to ever compromise our faith. Loving others is what Jesus did before reprimanding, rebuking, blessing, and teaching. He loved first. It was the greatest, most in-depth piece of His ministry; a mission that is a must we follow. When we invite the sinner to dinner, we need to keep in mind that we are not asking their sin to eat, nor are we asking their sin to enjoy our home. We are simply loving them, not their sin. And we should never assume that hell is their destination. Remember that we are God’s children too that hold many sins ourselves. We are far from perfect. We’re not supporting their sin by funding their movement. We’re not shouting out

cheers towards their victories. We’re not walking their walk. We are simply loving them through their change. That is our ultimate goal. Salvation comes because Jesus chose to love. He made the ultimate sacrifice to die on a cross at Calvary in front of hundreds, if not more, spectators and people who actually loved Him. There was no manual! Jesus didn’t carry instructions. He simply loved His watchers and followers to death! The question is, which watcher would you be? Or would you be a follower? The fact is, when we chose to follow Christ, we chose to lead others to a path that would save them eternally: in that choice is unselfish, unconditional love. A love so strong that dying for the next person just isn’t good enough. We need to show them that their lack of faith doesn’t cancel out ours. And their disbelief should never shake our firm belief. We need to put the signs down, drop the vulgar attacks and name-calling, raise up our hands in prayer, and simply love the lost enough to help them understand God’s love as they find themselves in a place of peace everlasting. We are not perfect people! We are followers of a Savior who made the ultimate decision to save us from ourselves. A walk that many fail to walk simply because they forget who their Father is. They forget that through Him alone, many can and will find eternal life. We are more than conquerors... That’s who we are in Christ!

FLAMING ARROWS Kimberly Moses

One day, I was worshiping the Lord. I couldn’t get enough of His presence. I rushed home from church and went into prayer. I wasn’t in prayer too long, or that’s how it felt because I lost track of time. One thing for sure is that spending time with the Lord was my lifeline. I had to get a hold of Him and hear His voice. I was desperate, and sometimes the pain of the trials was too much for me to bear alone. I knew that if I could get into His presence, then everything would be okay. I laid prostrate on the floor in my dining room. I could tell when I entered into another dimension because I wasn’t aware of my physical surroundings.

fiery glowing bow, which was lying horizontally or sideways. I found that to be strange because when an archer shoots a bow and arrow, it’s always vertical. The arrows appeared to be a vibrant golden color. I have never seen anything so breathtaking.

I could hear the sound that the arrows made as they were released. “Choo, choo, choo,” is all I heard as these arrows were automatically shot out one after another. The arrows all were released on a consistent rhythm. I was in awe of what I saw. Then the external voice of God spoke, “Daughter, as long as you stay in the spirit, I will loose my arrows at your enemies!” His voice was loud and booming. I could feel His voice penetrate the depths of The Glory of God came into the room, fell my soul. I thought, “Arrows? God has arrows?” upon me, and pinned me to the floor. It felt as if an invisible force was holding me down. I I was puzzled because I was new in my calling. could only move my head sideways. I realized I had no idea that the Lord was a Lord of War that the Lord wasn’t going to allow me to (Exodus 15:3)! I didn’t quite grasp the concept get up from prayer so I might as well relax in of what the spirit had to do with protection. His presence. My mind was racing with all these questions, and the glory of the Lord lifted. I was able to get up from the floor. The first thing I did was grabbed my Bible. I started to look up the spirit and discover it was different from the flesh. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.--Ephesians 5:16 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.--Ephesians 5:24-25 I discovered that my flesh was very carnal and wanted to do sinful things such as sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, and orgies (Ephesians 5:19-21). If I were to partake in these acts, I wouldn’t go to heaven nor will God protect me with His arrows because I wasn’t in the spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.--Ephesians 5:22-23

THE DEVIL’S CANDY; THE TRUTH ABOUT HALLOWEEN By Shirley Cooper

Be very careful, then, how you live, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-16) All Hallows’ Eve is where it all started....... Then, “Halloween” as we know it today, was soon birthed! A day of witches, twitches, broomsticks, boiling kettles and more gadgets that, with the right spell, can turn little children into food

before they become witty children turned witch slayers. Is this what Halloween really means? Is it really the story that everyone believes? As much as everyone speculates that Halloween rose up as the devil’s holiday, the truth is far greater than the candy, the goblins, the witches, the black cats and the spider webby homes that cook little kids. Let’s pick up our paper, grab a pencil, preferably with an eraser to erase all the wrong information already embedded into our heads, and jot down the real truth behind the scariest holiday this country has ever experienced.

31

32

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

Celebrations like Halloween are in conflict with Bible teachings.

All Hallows’ Eve falls on the 31st of October each year, and is the day before All Hallows’ Day, also known as All Saints’ Day on, yes, believe it or not, the Christian calendar. Back in the day, the Church traditionally held a vigil on All Hallows’ Eve when worshippers would prepare themselves with prayers and fasting prior to the feast day itself. The name derives from the Old English ‘hallowed’ meaning holy or sanctified and is now usually contracted to the more familiar word “Hallowe’en.” As we dig deeper, we can find a grave filled with information that will rattle the minds of everyone who wants to learn about yesterday’s and today’s truth about Halloween. Ready, set, go! Through my research, I discovered something pretty far out. It is my understanding that on a more Catholic view, in the early 7th century, Pope Boniface IV consecrated the Pantheon in Rome, formerly a temple to all the gods, as a church dedicated to Saint Mary and the Martyrs, and ordered that date, May 13th, should be celebrated every year. Soon, It became All Saints’ Day, a day to honour all the saints, and later, at the behest, “the command” of Pope Urban IV (1264), a day especially to honor those saints who didn’t have a festival day of their own. Wrapping things up a little, I learned that in

the 8th century, on November 1st, Pope Gregory III dedicated a chapel to all the saints in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Gregory IV then made the festival universal throughout the Church, and November 1st has subsequently become All Saints’ Day for the western Church. The Orthodox Church celebrates All Saints’ Day on the first Sunday after Passover, a date much closer to the original date of May 13th. Looking through yet another scope, I have found that Halloween traditions have evolved from an ancient Celtic festival called Samhain, which was Christianised by the early Church. Pronounced sow-in, Samhain is a Gaelic word meaning ‘end of the summer.’ The festival is believed to have been a celebration of the end of the harvest, and a time of preparation for the coming winter. The early church missionaries chose to hold a festival at this time of year in order to absorb existing native Pagan practices into Christianity, thereby making the transition of conversion a process less shaky. Now get this: there was actually a letter that Pope Gregory the 1st sent to Bishop Mellitus in the 6th century, in which he suggested that existing places of non-Christian worship be adopted and consecrated to serve a Christian purpose. When we look into the Encyclopaedia Britannica, we can clearly see that it states that this date may have been chosen “in an effort to supplant the Pagan holiday with a more Christian observance”. Hence, the Oxford Dictionary of World Religions also claims that Halloween “absorbed and adopted the Celtic new year festival, the eve and day of Samhain.” And yet, there are supporters of the view that Halloween, as the eve of All Saints’ Day, originated entirely independently of Samhain and some question the existence of a specific pan-Celtic religious festival which took place on October 31st, or November 1st. However, Halloween,” as explained in the Encyclopedia of American Folklore, “is integrally related to the prospect of contact with spiritual forces, many of which threaten or frighten.”

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

Likewise, many celebrations like Halloween, have pagan origins and are deeply rooted in ancestor worship; even today, people around the world use these days to make contact with “supposed” spirits of the dead. Which ,of course, is another story filled with holes. Either way, what we can be sure of is that the modern celebration of Halloween is a compl icated mix of “evolved” and “evolving” traditions and influences. Halloween was never meant to serve the land of the dead, nor was it placed to capture wicked spells and love or hate potions. It manifested from point A to point B through the dark hearts of men. While one group made it a blessed day, others corrupted the vision. When we look at today’s symbols all around that reveal itself to be dark and wicked, filled with sorcery and death notes, we can find that they were once used for the believer as well, either as a weapon against the enemy or a celebration towards Christian festivities. The world changes from left to right. People love change and accept it freely with open arms. Christians all across the states celebrate Halloween, with or without the goblins, the witches, the devils with “cute” little horns, and “sweet” smiles with candy stains. So many serve the enemy without even knowing it by dipping into the devil’s candy, showing off costumes, and makeup that cater to the dead. The problem isn’t Halloween, but rather the people who know the Lord and yet quickly join in on what is now called fun and games. The problem is that believers have twisted their own minds trying to fit into a changed tradition. Whether the day was changed for evil or not, it still marks one day that the world serves the father of lies. A day where children are harmed, both physically, mentally and more importantly, spiritually. When we look further into the history of Halloween, we take great notice that as days go by, innocence is destroyed. The fangs, the horns, the sultry wear, the poisoned candy,

the dead streets are all part of the enemy in big ways. We can ramble on about how Halloween used to be, or what it is now, or we can choose to celebrate every day in the Lord. What the devil meant for ugly, God made beautiful. I celebrate every day in Gods presence. I try to filter out what needs to be and what doesn’t belong. I have taught my children that we can enjoy the day that people celebrate Halloween with our own celebration. We call it, “hallelujah” day, and we celebrate with games, candy, food, pictures, and most importantly, Jesus Christ. We go to churches and go from car to car, in opened trunks doing “trunk or treat,” But yet again, we do it with God. There are no charms, no occult talk, etc. “Christians ‘don’t realize it, but they’re celebrating our holiday with us. . . . We like it.”—The newspaper USA Today, quoting a professed witch. We should really take note that celebrations like Halloween are in conflict with Bible teachings. The Bible is clear when it warns us, “There must never be anyone among you who practices divination, who is soothsayer, augur or sorcerer, who uses charms, consults ghosts or spirits, or calls up the dead.” (Deuteronomy 18:10, 11) All in all, the point is this.....No matter how traditions came about, we are Christians. Disciples who follow Christ. While many believers still dance with the devil, make it our plan to sharpen those who are around us living the same. Teaching is a command from God and a way to strengthen the Kingdom with truth. Yes, Halloween was once used for the greater good, but has changed to appease the world we live in. We must always remember that we are not of this world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth (John 17:15,16,17).

ROASTED CHICKEN Kimberly Moses

I remember the first time that I tasted a rotisserie chicken. It was crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. I was in middle school, and because I made good grades, I was awarded a certificate from Boston Market. I enjoyed eating there, and the chicken was delicious. I craved the chicken so much that my mother would make a whole roasted chicken for the family. As I grew older, I wanted to cook my chicken like Boston Market, so I invested in a rotisserie. I would put the chicken on the blade, tie it up, and place it into the rotisserie after I seasoned it. The chicken would spin around the heat source for a few hours. The chicken was never dried out but always moist. The best part of all was that it was fork-tender. Some people don’t enjoy eating leftover chicken, so Taste of Home gives tons

of recipes to enjoy the extra bird the following day. Out of 125 recipes, I would cook 54 of them. I have listed them below. Let us know what recipes you tried by sending us a message on our website. 1) Creamy Chicken Enchiladas 2) Chicken Salad 3) Chicken Sandwich 4) Spicy Chicken and Bacon Mac 5) Chicken Cordon Bleu 6) Chicken Stuffed Peppers 7) Chicken Stuffing

APOSTLE LIONEL BLAIR SR. Interviewer: Thank you so much for your accepting our invite. I always honored your ministry because you always cry aloud and spare not, and then you came back after the warfare, that’s beautiful. I just thank God for what He is doing through you. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: Yes, indeed! I’m definitely honored to be a part of the interview. I honor your ministry as well. I see all the things that God is doing. I see all the books that you have written. You are blessing the Body of Christ and I definitely honor that as well. Interviewer: Amen. How did everything get started? Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: Wow! Well, actually, the hand of the Lord was upon me ever since I was 12-years-old. I started preaching at 12, but there was a lot of pressure from the streets, and I didn’t have a proper foundation. And you know that I was from the Baptist church so there was only so much that they could do with someone who had a gift like mine. I started hearing God at 12 years old. He started speaking to me and giving me messages for the church, and I didn’t fully understand it then, and I had a lot of mental attacks during that time. Being called to the office of a Prophet, at that time, I didn’t know what a Prophet or Apostle was. Being called to that office during that time, I had no idea of the mental attacks and things that I had to go through. Yes! I went through a lot of mental issues and you know I was rejected, of course. I was rejected by so many people. It was very lonely for me, but I knew God was

talking to me. I was always surrounded by God throughout my whole life. If it wasn’t my aunt taking me to church, it was my grandma taking me to church. During this time, when God started speaking to me, I was going to my grandmother’s church. She is part of Miracle Temple Baptist Church and honestly, it was the first place that I had experienced the Holy Spirit. The pastor was Baptist but he wasn’t just your typical Baptist. Pastor Floyd Blackwell… I remember the first time he laid hands on me and tongues came out of his mouth. I found myself on the floor for 15 minutes. It was a church that was very traditional, but they believed in the power of the Holy Spirit. That is no disrespect to the Baptist denomination but they are very limited of how they can handle very gifted people. Because there is no fivefold, there is no real course on the gifts of the Spirit, and there is no liberality of the Spirit, many times ,because of the tradition. So I found by the time that I was 13 years old, I had no foundation. I had none of that because I was already hanging in the streets. God was talking to me, but I found myself back in the streets. Then I found myself locked up in Juvenile Detention and then a mental hospital for about a week. I tried to commit suicide. I took a bunch of pills then found out that they were vitamins. I didn’t know that they were vitamins. That was God. After trying to take my life, I spent about a week in a mental hospital. Interviewer: How did you overcome that? Cause I know that a lot of Pastors are dealing with mental issues like right now and commit-

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

ting suicide. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: Yes, well, it took me a while to overcome that, and then it wasn’t until I really surrendered to God. From the age of 12 to 19, I ran from God. Now the whole time, I knew that God had called me, but I was so far, so deep in the dark. I didn’t know how to come out myself. You know people tried to minister to me. People tried to help, but it did nothing for me. You know that I had a grandmother who prayed for me every night. So I know it was those prayers or I wouldn’t be where I am. How did I come out? I had somebody constantly praying for me but it wasn’t until I came to the end of myself. At the age of 19, I found myself homeless. I found myself sleeping outside by the railroad tracks and it was smack dead in the middle of winter. I mean it had to be at least 20 or 30 degrees, and I am sleeping outside in the freezing cold. It wasn’t until then that I

said, “You know what? I really need to get my life together.” I was a High School dropout, and I was very heavily demonized. One day, a preacher stopped; he was known as a crooked preacher. He did some wicked things, but God used him to stop by the side of the road. He asked me, “Are you hungry?” and I said, “Yes I am.” This man took me to get me something to eat, and he brought me into his house. By that time, I really couldn’t rest. I would sleep, but I really couldn’t rest. I told him that I needed a couple of hours just to rest and he let me rest. He later woke me up, ran my bath water, gave me some clothes to change into, and stuff like that. But, of course, he put me out about a week later (laughs). By that time, I had already met some people that would kind of take me in; I was able to get me back on my feet. God used these people and by that time, I was stable enough to start going to church.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

After trying to take my life, I spent about a week in a mental hospital.

I started going back to church and when I did, the Lord allowed me to come across somebody in the ministry who was a youth pastor, but the man was really a prophet. God used this brother to really disciple me for a while. Honestly, if it had not been for that man, I would not be here where I am today. He ditched his wife, but I still honor that man because God used him to really get me back in place with Him. During that time, I started hearing God talk to me again. God started talking to me again, and I began learning the voice of God. I am seeing things that are going on in the church, discerning things, right and wrong, and I am like, “What is this?” I am having visions, dreams, and encounters with God; I am like, “What in the world is this!” This brother really helped to navigate me, but eventually, he left the church. I stayed because God did not tell me to leave. It was through the pastor, Pastor Edward Clements, I learned how to study the Word of God. He really taught me how to study the Word of God. I learned to study Scripture and interpret Scripture from him. He has passed away, but it has really been an incredible journey for me.

I got baptized in the Holy Ghost at that church. I started discovering my gifts in that church, and after that, I began to move on. I went through a process and moved out of the state for three years. By that time, I had gotten a little arrogant. I begin to flow in the Prophetic. God needed somewhere to humble me a little bit, so He sent me back to Virginia, and here I am today. Interviewer: Amen! That’s an incredible journey. It’s amazing and really powerful how God blessed you to overcome so many obstacles: homelessness, mental illness, pride, and here you are. I know you said God was first calling you as a prophet, now you’re an apostle. How was that transition? Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: Well, when God first called me as a prophet, I didn’t want to be one. When I first started ministry, God started teaching me about the fivefold ministry. I knew nothing about the fivefold ministry. Then, God started showing me the Word of God with these positions. I begin to look up teaching in the fivefold ministry. I first heard about the fivefold ministry from God. No one else really told me about it at first. I’m learning about these positions and offices in the church. My mentor, at the time, was a prophet. He always told me I was a prophet. I said, “Well, I don’t want that.” I tried to negotiate with God. I began to tell God I was not a prophet because I’m not sharpened like that. I know I’m not a pastor because I’m not going to be responsible for anybody. I know apostleship is out of the question. I said, “I must be a teacher with the gift of Prophecy or because I flow very heavy in the prophetic. Or maybe I was an evangelist.” I figured I am one of those two but wasn’t sure which one. I heard the Lord clearly say, “You are a prophet.” I said, “The devil is a liar!” I said, “This is not God talking to me.” You know how we do. Then, my mentor, during that time, called me and said, “The Lord told me to tell you that you have been praying and seeking Him about your position in the fivefold ministry. The Lord told

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

me to tell you that you are a prophet.” I said, “Man, no! Don’t tell me that!” He said, “That is what the Lord said, brother. That is who you are.” So it took me about a week to embrace it, but you know after that week, I finally said yes to the call. I said, “Yes, Lord. I will do it.” About a month after I said yes to the call, the Lord came to me and said, “Eventually, I am going to call you to be an apostle.” I said. “What! I am still trying to get the hang of this prophetic thing! God, why would you do this

to me?” I am acting just like my own life is over. So it wasn’t until I was out of state that I began to really, really walk in the Apostolic. I came back to Virginia as an apostle, and I can tell you the transition has been very different. When you truly enter into apostleship, God really begins to change your perspective. You begin to see things from God’s perspective in a way that you did not before as a prophet. I am a prophet, you know. I will be a prophet until the day that I die, but when you transition to an apostle, God does something

39

40

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

supernatural in your mind so you can be able to change your perspective. You don’t see things the way everybody else sees things. I see why God placed the apostle and prophet together—they see differently. You know that I always say this, “Prophets see further ahead; apostles see further up.” Prophets can tell you what is coming and get in. Apostles can see what Heaven wants it to be for the present generation, see the blueprint from God, and implement it in the earth. Yes, it is really different because apostles and prophets both see from different perspectives. Even before God does anything, He will reveal it to the Prophet first. He uses the Apostle to spearhead it, and that is a mistake that Prophets make. They think because they see it first, they are called to lead it. Clearly, they are called to prepare the way for the one who God called to lead. John the Baptist preached that the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand first. Jesus preached the same message and demonstrated the message. So if you noticed, both John the Baptist and Jesus both taught on repentance, but the repentance was different. John the Baptist said, “Repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins.” And Jesus said, “Re-

pent and believe the Gospel.” You see, John the Baptist taught repentance of your sins; Jesus taught repentance as far as believing the right thing. There are two different kinds of repentance and you need both. There are several differences in reference to the Apostolic and Prophetic. Actually, in the Apostolic, I begin to see things differently. I went through a whole theological detox because there were so many things that I believed that God was telling me was wrong. I even had to go back and reteach the people that I was leading. I said, “Hey! I know I said this, but God corrected me. He told me I was wrong and He showed me the right way, so this is the correct teaching.” Interviewer: I know that you had a Facebook status about the “Maturity in the Prophet.” Could you tell me what inspired you to write that? Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: I believe that prophets need proper foundation, and I think that is why God put an apostle in your life. I think a prophet needs to be exposed to solid teaching because through gifting, you can mess yourself and other people up. I see so many gifted Prophets that mess up so many lives. They can see and are accurate too. They can see and they can call your name out, tell you the last digits of your phone number, and all that other stuff, but they have messed up some folks’ lives. I think that is because of the issue of prematurity because we have a tendency to be in this generation to be impressed by gifting. I am all for gifting. I celebrate gifting. I have a team of gifted prophets that I lead. They are very gifted. Some of them are sharper than me in certain areas in the prophetic, and I celebrate that, but I cover it. You know I am able to see the blind spots and see where they miss it. A lot of people are deceived by their gifting. I did a two-part teaching series on this on one of my pages and it is called “Offended Seers.” I prove this by the Word of God and according to how you feel in your heart is how you see. If some people don’t like somebody, then they

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

are going to see something negative about them. Why would God show you something negative about somebody that you don’t like? You may not be able to properly judge that information. Maybe He’s showing you to pray for them because He is about to judge them, but you take it as an opportunity to say, “See, I knew he wasn’t right or I knew she wasn’t right.” Now you see what I am saying? That is another issue of immaturity in the prophetic when you don’t know how to handle what you see about people. I have been there. I have seen a lot of negative stuff about my previous leaders and I went out and talked about them to people. Yes, I did it. I talked about them like a dog and God whipped me because of that. I mean, I got chastised by God for that, so I know what it is like to receive the judgment of God. Listen, if the Pastor was wrong, you know God will handled the pastor, but it was my job as an intercessor in that church to pray and help restore the pastor. See, a lot

of prophets know how to call out, but they don’t know how to restore. The Bible says that if your brother be overtaken in a fault, you are to spiritual restore in meekness, not in pride, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. That means that if somebody is overtaken in a fault, you don’t try to point the finger in pride but you restore them in meekness. The Bible says “According to the one that the one who points will some time later in your life you will be tempted with the same thing.” This is why we are supposed to consider ourselves. That means put yourself in that person’s shoes; I don’t care whether you can identify with that particular fault or not. Put yourself in their shoes, and however way you would want to be restored, you restore that person. That is Biblical. A lot of prophets don’t do that, and this is just an example of the immaturity. We think that our gift and the accuracy of our gift gives us a right to point the finger but it doesn’t. A lot of prophets already know how to tear down and uproot, but they

41

42

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

are also called to restore the saints. When was the last time that you built a person up? When was the last time that you helped a person get planted? When was the last time that you did that? That is what I am trying to get prophets to understand because I made the same mistakes, and I made the same mistakes and I have people that still hate me to this day for something that happened ten years ago in my immaturity because I did not build up and plant. Instead, I tore down and I tried to uproot. There is a time and place for all that because you can hate the sin; just because you hate the sin of a person doesn’t mean that you have the right to mishandle that person. You don’t get the full truth about a person until you can not destroy their present, past, and their future. You see, prophets have the ability to see the future, including a person that you are trying to restore. God will show you what this person will be. Treat a person according to not where they are, but where they are going. If you can’t do that for a person, you don’t need a pastor to exercise the prophetic. I am noticing this issue in the church where prophets love to call out stuff. They love to be right. They love to appear to be right in their gift, but they don’t handle people right. The Bible says this, and this is out of Jesus’s own mouth, “Judge not according to appearance but judge righteous judgment.” So in order to judge righteously, you can’t always go by what something looks like. You have to go by what God is saying. You have to go by what God is revealing to you about that person, not just their past or their present but also their future.

Prophets needs to be exposed to solid teaching because just by gifting you can mess yourself up and mess other people up.

negative, and when you have people who are too negative and don’t properly restore people in that department.

Interviewer: You are absolutely right. It’s sad that some people are waiting for certain people to fall. They pray against you and rejoice when you mess up. You were the first person I had people in my life that treated me accord- I saw to post something on false images of Jesus. It was very eye-opening. Can you talk ing to what they saw in my future. Had they about that? would have treated me according to what they saw in my past, I wouldn’t have made it. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: Yes. We live in a culThis one of the areas of maturity that prophture now where people are trying to have ets need to come into definitely because this is a major problem among the prophetic com- encounters with the Lord, experiencing Him munity: when you have some people who are face to face, and the like. REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

seen Jesus several times. I’ve had encounters with God, the Father, directly and personally. As a matter of fact, I’ve had encounters with God when I didn’t know what it was. As I gain more maturity, I look back on those encounters and I begin to realize the things God gave me even back then. There should be changes in you when you encounter the Lord. You can not come before God and not change. The only way you don’t change is if you are a reprobate. Most people that encounter the Lord change unless you’re a Judas type. Judas saw the Lord every day and he did not change, but the rest of them did. For most people, if you’re having these encounters and nothing’s really happening in your life… you’re seeing Jesus and you still sick in your body? Deranged in your mind? You’re still broke? You still don’t have any power in your ministry and you have seen Jesus? You have seen Jesus but you have not cast out one devil or healed one sick person? Jesus was the master of that. You can’t come

into that kind of encounter with Him and not come out with that kind of power. Interviewer: That’s right! When you posted those images, I thought to myself, “I had some visitations with Jesus and they didn’t look like that.” I was laughing and chuckling. It was really eye-opening. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: I’ve come to discover that a lot of these people that say they’ve seen Jesus all the time lives are dysfunctional. Their relationships are out of whack and all kinds of stuff is out of order in their life once you really get to the root of it. Now if you’re saying you see Jesus all the time and He’s not addressing you about this, something is wrong. I’ve come to discover that people are not seeing Jesus. They are seeing what we call an ascension master. These are all the little gurus, all the little people, made-up people, all these past gurus, and stuff like that who have gone on to hell because if you die without Jesus, you are going to hell. A lot of

43

44

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

these people are having demonic encounters and calling it Jesus because the devil comes as an angel of light. He can come to you as a light being. I remember one time I had a spiritual mentee that was in our ministry. She said that she was always seeing Jesus, so whenever we were in prayer, she saw Jesus come into the room and put a crown on my head and all this other stuff right. The first time, I am like cool. After like the second, third, and fourth time, I said, “Hold on! You mean to tell me that Jesus is always coming into the room and putting a crown on my head? He is always coming in and walking into the room? Look here, I don’t see it,” and then I am like, “Ok, what is He doing? Taking the crown off of my head when he leaves the room? What is He doing?” I said I know that some people have a wild imagination, and listen, I am not against visions cause Jesus can come in visions, dreams and physically if He wants to. I have heard of those encounters. Jesus can come in whatever way that He chooses to come. If you are always seeing Jesus but you are still being mean, nasty, hateful, or arrogant then I really doubt that encounter. Listen, during my encounters with the Lord, I begin to see this all-powerful man: His beard and His robe. First of all, He is coming to me. He is appearing to me. This is the second-most Powerful being under God, you know, in all of His ‘High Universe’-Self’ coming to speak to me personally! That will mess you up and I was a wreck. I begin to see how powerful, but how humble He was. He didn’t even have to address my pride because I began to see my pride. My pride began to manifest. I began to see how prideful I was and I said, “Oh my God!” He has all this power, and He is so meek. He doesn’t mishandle people. I begin to think about the times where I have messed up; He didn’t even address it. So when I see people who say that they have encountered Jesus, but they always point their finger at people, I just say there is a time to address it and there is a method. If you are always pointing your finger at people, talking

about who is there, why they are there, why they are not, why you are, and all this other foolish, I really doubt you encounter with the Lord. I really do because there are certain characteristics of Jesus that you are supposed to have, and there are certain things that are supposed to be forged into you after your encounter Him. If you are not learning and not listening to Him, and if you are not receiving from Him during those encounters, He will not keep visiting you like that, He won’t! If you keep having visitation and you are still arrogant and mean, you are not really seeing the Lord. I doubt your visitation, I really do. A lot of people are seeing dead people, and all this other stuff, that they are seeking out, but they are not seeing Jesus Christ, our Lord. Interviewer: Wow, You said something! I used to follow this prophet that said he used to speak to the dead so I had to stop following him. It is just crazy out here, Apostle. He was like, “Well, Jesus was speaking to the dead when he was talking on the Mount of Transfiguration.” I said, “Yeah, but you are trying to justify talking to the dead.” I just know that it is really crazy out here. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: But you notice that in that Scripture, Peter tried to build a taber-

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

nacle for Moses and Elijah and that is when God said, “This is my beloved Son. Hear Ye Him.” They didn’t hear from Moses and Elijah. I am not saying that God won’t give you some encounters where you may be seeing some of these people. I am not saying that; I am saying that if you start communicating with the dead, and when you start giving honor to the dead in a very unhealthy demonic way like that, that is not of God. God is not going to put more emphasis on Elijah and Moses than Jesus.

Interviewer: That is right. He has written books about Mary and all the saints like the disciples visited him. It just vexed me because I said, “Oh! my God! We are not supposed to talk or communicate with the dead!” I was like, “Yeah, this is crazy!” Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: Notice the two who were with Jesus on the mountain. Remember Elijah went up in a whirlwind. Moses died but the angels of the Lord had to come and

45

46

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

get his body. I believe it’s in Jude if, I am not mistaken, where it talked about Satan and Michael arguing over the body of Moses. Michael had to come and get Moses’ body, so those two were the only two that went up in Glory in their bodies. So technically, they are dead, but not at the same time; we shouldn’t be talking to them like that. That is not healthy. I question people who see demons all the time, but never see angels. I am not saying that you can’t see demons, but if you see demons more than you see angels, then that is a problem. You either have to be demonized or have a vivid imagination.

I was like, “Lord, these people are not even listening to me.” I really became more secure with my relationship with the Lord, and that really helped. When you become more secure in your relationship with the Lord, you’ll just come to the realization that everyone won’t hear you. As long as you obey God, and God is pleased, that is all that matters. You know it sounds really simple, but it took me a while to get there; that is how I handled the rejection. I fell more in love with Jesus, but don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t take away the fact that you’re hurt sometimes, but it really gives you more peace and security with God. The rejection trained me and helped me to put Interviewer: Wow, this is good! I had this lady more of my trust and my security in God than that was a part of my ministry who kept seethe acceptance of man. I have learned to love ing demons all the time, she was demonized! I those who have rejected me. That is not the loved her, but she would call me every day for easiest thing because you can become bitprayer. I would pray for her because she was ter. But, again, when you encounter the Lord, being tormented, but she was very demonwhen He begins to teach you. That is when ized. You have said some awesome stuff, and you begin to learn and begin to take on the it is really blessing me. Earlier, you said that characteristics of Christ. We always say all the you faced a lot of rejection when you were time, “Oh Lord, make me like You.” Then when first called? you ask Him that, He will put you in the position to react like Him. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: Yeah, at first, I didn’t know how to handle it. I lashed out. SomeInterviewer: That is the truth right there. I times when you see people who are prideful, asked God to deliver me from anger. When arrogant, and things like that, most likely they I went to work, my patients try to beat me have been rejected. I started pretending like up, the doctor got an attitude, and the nurse I didn’t care but deep down inside, I really cussed me out. did. When you are a prophet, God is calling you, God is sending you, and He is using you Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: Yes, people will try you to speak. You want people to be receptive of and I have been tried by preachers. I have that word, but the reality is that everybody is been threaten by preachers. I have some who not going to hear you. As a matter of fact, it wanted to fight me. I looked up to some of states in the Scriptures, especially in the Old them at some point in my life. I’m thinking to Testament, that they rejected the prophets myself, “Do I let the old me come out, or do more than they accepted them. So you have I act like Jesus.” Now that was a test for me, to come to peace with rejection, and you will and I didn’t always pass that one. You can talk get to a place where you are strong enough in about me all you want, just don’t threaten the mind and in your character not to let that me because I don’t threaten anybody. Why detour you. It took me some time because I can’t we disagree in peace? When you have didn’t have anybody to really teach me about to resort to the immaturity of wanting to that, so I had to discover that on my own. I fight people and stuff like that, you still need began to question whether or not I was even deliverance, and you probably were released called to be a prophet. prematurely. That faith should have been developed in you. Peter had a whole sword, but

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

Jesus told him to put it up. If you live by the sword, you going to die by it. Now they had swords, but that was the wrong time to use it. In times when you really want to react to certain things, were you really hearing from God? God will tell you, “Hey don’t do that.” There were times I was going to react a certain way, but God told me, “Hey, you can’t do that.” Interviewer: Just walk away. The Holy Spirit told me to walk away, but I didn’t listen; I got two years on probation because I didn’t listen. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: I feel you. I almost

fought. I was about to drive to where somebody was, but the Lord spoke to me so clear. He said, “Son, you can’t do that.” I said, “Lord, get him. Get him!” He was three hours away from me talking all that junk. I said, “Lord, get him.” He said, “I will in my own timing, but you can’t. You can’t risk going out there.” He showed me I had a family, ministry, and all that. God knows you. He knows what you are going to do. That’s why He speaks to you the way He does. Interviewer: That’s right! What do you think about pastors paying tithes to their own

church?

Apostle Lionel Blair Sr.: No! No! I’m not a fan of that. I believe if you a pastor and pay tithes to your own church, that’s a safety tactic. That’s more money to your ministry. When you truly give, it doesn’t immediately benefit you. It’s going to benefit someone else. Every pastor should have some sort of accountability, covering, or spiritual parent who they sow into or tithe into regularly. That’s honor. Your honor is nothing if you honor yourself. The Bible says let other men speak well of you; let other men praise you. So let other men honor you. I don’t give to my ministry. I give to the ministries of those whom I’m accountable to. I think it’s a safety tactic. I’ve had issues with other pastors I’ve tried to sup with in the past on that very issue right here. I don’t charge a fee to cover you, and stuff like that. We give honor to those that we sow into by sowing into those who we are accountable to. Then if you are their accountability, they should be sowing

into you. I don’t want your whole paycheck. I don’t want your bill money but you need to sow something. Interviewer: Amen. Amen. So what is one of the mind-blowing miracles that you have witnessed? I know you have seen a lot of miracles in your ministry. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: Yes, oh my God, where do I start? I remember one time I was on Periscope. I have seen a lot of miracles on Periscope. There was this one young lady who still follows our ministry to this day. She had this disease where she had an allergic reaction to electromagnetic stuff. She couldn’t be around a microwave without aching in her back. I forgot what you call it, but she had this disease where she was allergic to electromagnetic activity. She couldn’t even be like in a place that has a bunch of appliances without going into excruciating pain. Then, she had breast cancer, and had lumps in her breasts too. So I began to pray for her, and I think I called out breast cancer by word of knowledge. I said, “Somebody has breast cancer. You have lumps on your breasts and God is healing you right now!” She began to message me. Afterward, she told me that her lumps were gone and that she no longer had that condition that she had. So you know from then on, she started following my ministry. There was one young man who was watching on Periscope, and his momma has A.I.D.S. He said, “Pray for my momma. My momma has A.I.D.S.” I asked, “Where is your mother? Is your mother around you?” He said she was sitting right next to him. I said, “Tell your mother to lift her hands.” I began to release the fire of God. I commanded that spirit of infirmity to leave her body and rebuked A.I.D.S. I think it was Monday and she had a doctor’s appointment on that Friday. After she went to the doctor, she then emailed us, and I still have the email, and told us that they found no A.I.D.S. in her body. I have a spiritual daughter who is still in our

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

Interviewer: That is powerful. Amen. I thank God for His Spirit flowing and you being able to demonstrate His power in this hour. One of the things that I love about your ministry is that you have a family and you know how to balance. I enjoy when you guys cook food and take pictures of the food. I love how you and your wife date. How do you balance your family and ministry?

ministry now. She had carpal tunnel and tendonitis. Matter of fact, I had a couple of spiritual daughters that had carpal tunnel and tendonitis. I can remember one day she came into the living room when we were gathering and praying. She had just come to the ministry. I noticed the brace, so I told her to give me her hand. I told her to take the brace off, and I swiped my hand across her forearm twice. With all the pain, she couldn’t even close her fist at first. She then was able to close her fist and all that carpal tunnel and tendonitis left. Her daughter was shocked by the miracle. I have another spiritual daughter who asked about that testimony. When I prayed for her, I believe on YouTube, I did the same thing with her. I prayed for her wrist, and she was able to turn her wrist after that. She was able to move that hand too. It was very powerful, and those are just some of the miracles.

Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: I wasn’t always balanced. I had to learn to balance, and I think that it is one thing for couples in ministry need to learn: balance. First of all, we agree on ministry. I do ministry with my wife. She is not just a pretty face. No, I bring her alongside me and we make ministry together. That is one of the things that has really kept us over the years. In fact, she is my partner in ministry. It is not just my ministry. We lead together. With a lot of ministry models, you see the husband is doing everything. He is doing all the preaching and prophesying, and the wife is just sitting there. It is all about him, and I don’t agree with that model of ministry. I think that it is one of the things that has become damaging to couples in ministry. The fact that whoever receives the leader doesn’t include their spouse. I think that when it comes to a leader in ministry, it would be a lot better for them. Also, we train others and put them in place so we can go and do something else. I think it is important to train others and put them in place. You train others to be able to run things while you are gone, because if the ministry just evolves around you, you will never get a break. You will always be on call. You will always be on demand. When I am spending time with my wife, unless it is a dire emergency, I don’t want to hear from anybody. So yeah, I think that senior leaders need to learn to relinquish all of their

49

50

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

control and learn to trust somebody else. Even if they have something they have to address, they can train as they go along and everybody is still learning. So if you learn to actually trust somebody else and leave them in charge, you can spend time with your family. Also, just learn to maximize moments with your family. So many times when we are doing ministry, or anything, we just randomly do something and have a good time. We may decide to take our kids somewhere and just play with them, go outside and cook on the grill, or whatever the case may be. I love cooking on my grill my sons and daughters bought for me for my birthday. I have been making very good use of that grill. I cook for everybody and everybody wants to come over to eat. So a lot of things with married couples and ministry are simple things. It is not really that big of a problem if you learn to do some of the simple things, or the things that people view as simple, so you will see a major result. There are times that our leaders taught us that you have three islands: you have an island for you, your spouse has an island, and then you will have an island together. You will have that island together and there are some things that I like to do individually that doesn’t include anybody. There are things that my wife likes to do individually that doesn’t include anybody. But a lot of times, we fail to develop that which we like to do together. I am talking about they need to develop something they like to do together. You know a lot of couples are not coming to that discovery because everything is about ministry. Ministry was my problem in the beginning. Everything was about ministry. I was so ministry driven that I thought that if my wife didn’t agree with that, she was coming up against my ministry. First of all, I was wrong right there because it wasn’t just my ministry. When the two becomes one, it wasn’t my ministry, but it’s our ministry. Someone helped me open my eyes to see that I was making my marriage about

ministry instead of making my ministry about marriage and the purpose of God for my marriage. There is a lot that I can say about that, but I just want to keep it simple. I can go for days about that. Interviewer: Yeah! I am still learning how to balance because I am all over the place, but this is really blessing me. I know that you have written several books. Can you tell us about your books and the names of them? Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: I have one that is out right now on Amazon. It is called the Fight to Faith. I am currently finalizing another book called Faith To Heal and Believe in Miracles. I have a lot of books that I have not even released yet because I am waiting on the timing of the Lord. I believe that when it comes to certain books, you have to hear from God. Some people write books just to write them, or just to hurry up to get a quick dollar, but I believe in hearing from God. In the beginning of the year, I was going to release like seven or eight books at one time or like throughout the year. The Lord put a halt to that so I have been waiting patiently. The next one that I am going to release is going to be sometime this year, but I don’t have the exact date yet. It is going to be called Faith for Healing and Miracles, and this book is going to teach every believer how to move into healings and miracles. It is not as thick because I want to keep it simple. My goal is to get believers activated in healings and miracles. I even give some of my miracle testimonies and how God took me through the journey to where I started healing the sick and seeing people blessed by the power of God. Interviewer: Amen, Amen! That is much needed and awesome! Is there anything that you want our readers to know? Any last words? Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: With God, nothing is impossible. It doesn’t matter how low you feel right now. God is able to pick you up out of that ditch like He did me. He is able to make something wonderful out of your life. For me,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE OCTOBER 2019

I was a little nobody. I still don’t have and I try not to have a high-minded view of myself, but I am confident in the things of God. I am confident of who I am in God. You know if God could deliver somebody like me, then He can deliver you. If God can restore somebody like me, then He can restore you. Never stop believing in God. Never stop forgiving and never stop loving. Do not allow your heart to become cold. Do not allow your heart to become cold towards God or towards people. There is always hope. During the times that I wanted to give up, times where I got bitter, and times where I wanted to throw in the towel and say, “Just forget it,” God wouldn’t let me give up, so I am telling you, do not give up. There is always hope. Interviewer: Amen, Amen! Absolutely! There is always hope. Thank You for such an awesome interview. I know that it will bless many people. Thank you so much for your time. Apostle Lionel Blair Sr: Thank You for having me, and it is such a great honor.

I love cooking on my grill my sons and daughters bought for me for my birthday.

“The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” is a must read! When I started reading the first declaration, I could feel the fire of God, so I knew this book was anointed. Some of the declarations in this book are declarations that I either already speak or have spoken over myself, and there are other declarations in this book I felt were for me. I also appreciate Prophetess Kim’s testimonies in this book. The transparency she displays is encouraging because just like so many others (including myself ), Prophetess Kim did not see herself as being worthy enough to used by God, especially as a prophet. When God called Prophetess Kim to the office of a prophet, she felt that she was in a terrible state in her life, but being in that state was how she was able to trust and rely on God. When Prophetess Kim finally surrendered to God, He was able to use her more for His glory. “The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” is truly a blessing for me because it gives me the encouragement and boldness that I need to move in the prophetic without focusing on the distractions or objections from others who disagree with women operating in their God-given assignment. People will try to put limits on you, but when it comes to God, there are no limitations; Prophetess Kim makes that clear in this book. She challenges and breaks the barriers some people try to use against women operating in church, ministry, five-fold offices, etc. “The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” will inspire you to move forward in your assignment with the confidence in knowing that God has you, He is with you, and you have what it takes to carry out His purpose for your life, with or without the approval of others. Thank you, Prophetess Kim, for allowing God to use you to bring this much-needed book forward, blessings to you always! —LaShana Lloyd *** This book is very necessary! Women are misunderstood not only throughout the world as far as equality, but they are also misunderstood when it comes to God’s purpose in their lives. God mandated everyone, male or female, with a purpose. I’m so glad that this book described Biblical women that God uses continually throughout the Word of God as well as powerful testimonies from the writer, Prophetess Kimberly Moses. Being a student of the School of Prophets, Prophetess Kimberly imparts to her students, and we began to flow in dreams, visions, Word of knowledge, Word of Wisdom and increase of discerning of spirits. Her Love for people and God shows and is all in the fruit God does through Prophetess Kimberly. This book will bless you! — Anstrice Mcmillian Epps *** I enjoy reading books by Prophetess Kimberly Moses. She’s an amazing teacher of the Prophetic Ministry and an asset to the Body of Christ. This book will enlighten your understanding of the Women Prophets in Biblical times and help you to understand what women Prophets of today are dealing with. It will bring clarity of your own identity as a Prophet of God. I used to feel left out and different from the rest, until I found people that were just like myself. Her books are filled with wisdom; the knowledge you obtain from her books will stick with you. I had the pleasure of taking her course “School of the Prophets,” which was life-changing for me. I encourage anyone looking to fulfill the prophetic call on your life to take her course. You will never be the same. — Felecia Jackson
