“The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” is a must read! When I started reading the first declaration, I could feel the fire of God, so I knew this book was anointed. Some of the declarations in this book are declarations that I either already speak or have spoken over myself, and there are other declarations in this book I felt were for me. I also appreciate Prophetess Kim’s testimonies in this book. The transparency she displays is encouraging because just like so many others (including myself ), Prophetess Kim did not see herself as being worthy enough to used by God, especially as a prophet. When God called Prophetess Kim to the office of a prophet, she felt that she was in a terrible state in her life, but being in that state was how she was able to trust and rely on God. When Prophetess Kim finally surrendered to God, He was able to use her more for His glory. “The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” is truly a blessing for me because it gives me the encouragement and boldness that I need to move in the prophetic without focusing on the distractions or objections from others who disagree with women operating in their God-given assignment. People will try to put limits on you, but when it comes to God, there are no limitations; Prophetess Kim makes that clear in this book. She challenges and breaks the barriers some people try to use against women operating in church, ministry, five-fold offices, etc. “The Making of A Prophet: Women Walking In Prophetic Destiny” will inspire you to move forward in your assignment with the confidence in knowing that God has you, He is with you, and you have what it takes to carry out His purpose for your life, with or without the approval of others. Thank you, Prophetess Kim, for allowing God to use you to bring this much-needed book forward, blessings to you always! —LaShana Lloyd *** This book is very necessary! Women are misunderstood not only throughout the world as far as equality, but women are misunderstood when it comes to God’s purpose in their lives. God mandated everyone, male or female, with a purpose. I’m so glad that this book described Biblical women that God uses continually throughout the Word of God, but also powerful testimonies from the writer, Prophetess Kimberly Moses. Being a student of the School of Prophets, Prophetess Kimberly imparts to her students, and we began to flow in dreams, visions, Word of knowledge, Word of Wisdom and increase of discerning of spirits. Her Love for people and God shows and is all in the fruit God does through Prophetess Kimberly. This book will bless you! — Anstrice Mcmillian Epps *** I enjoy reading books by Prophetess Kimberly Moses. She’s an amazing teacher of the Prophetic Ministry and an asset to the Body of Christ. This book will enlighten your understanding of the Women Prophets in Biblical times and help you to understand what women Prophets of today are dealing with. It will bring clarity of your own identity as a Prophet of God. I used to feel left out and different from the rest, until I found people that were just like myself. Her books are filled with wisdom; the knowledge you obtain from her books will stick with you. I had the pleasure of taking her course “School of the Prophets,” which was life-changing for me. I encourage anyone looking to fulfill the prophetic call on your life to take her course. You will never be the same. — Felecia Jackson

WORDS II Taylur Holland

Will be drowned Out by a thunderous praise For I have the victory Already. I choose not To be crowned By fallen words Spoken by fallen men Surviving in a fallen world. We hold hands with And give second chances To the opinions Of broken men Who haven’t sought out What God’s stance is Concerning our lives. We agree with and accept The words of curses Both heard and unheard. Our worlds are Blanketed by idle words From non-friends and those Who are the closest. A lot of us don’t know that our worlds Have been framed by our words -And theirs -And there is one noun and too many broken verbs To count That we must fall out Of agreement with. My prayer is for every word that has been spoken against My life To fall to the ground, And while they are crashing down Their screams and shallow sounds

I govern my world And atmosphere With the Truth, Word, Wisdom, and Peace of God. And every word That can’t trace its track back to a promise Found in the Word of God Cannot and will not take up residence in my world -Who sent you? There’s no space for you here. Therefore, I have every right To repeal your message To RTS - return to sender And to make you null and void. See, life’s not dull when you know your authority. In words, lie power, weight, The ability to move, and the ability to delay. Be careful of what your words reject and Think twice before you complain. And please please know That every time something in your life goes wrong It’s not always the devil. It could very well be the manifestation of words YOU spoke.

DON’T BE CORRUPTED BY THE BIGGEST NATION ON EARTH. T.N.Vincent

What’s the biggest Nation? When I was asked this question, I was actually stumped for words. I was thinking of a nation in the Continent of Africa. I asked some viewers this question and I received answers such as China, Israel, Kingdom, Animal, and Nation of

believers (which I thought were some pretty good answers). The Lord asked me this question and like many of the previous answers, the Lord kept saying, “Try Again. Nice try, but try again.” Then

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

I realized that the Lord was trying to teach me something. Everybody normally has a goal or a desire. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever had a thought that your life should look different than it does right now? If so, (think about it) how would it look? Are you living your best life? I know you’re living, but I said are you living your BEST LIFE? Do you feel like you should be doing something greater? If not, WHY? This is the question of the month. WHY? Why are you not living up to your potential, what’s stopping you? Excuses. We all have them or probably have at least used them at one time or another. Living in the United States, we are truly in a land of opportunity but, now the internet has leveled the playing field for everyone. Everybody knows that they have something more and to make it happen, we can’t do it by ourselves, or in our own strength. So, finally, I hear in my Spirit, “Ok. You have dreams, goals, the internet, and opportunity.” Have you ever said, “Well, I would do this IF or WHEN?” IF I just have the right location; WHEN I get more money; WHEN my children graduate from school; IF I get this promotion; WHEN we get out of debt; WHEN I get the right opportunity, WHEN I get the right partner; IF I wasn’t married to this person; IF I didn’t have kids with this person; IF I was a man; IF I was a woman; If I could stop drinking; WHEN I get rid of this anger issue; WHEN I stop clubbing and hoeing; IF I could just stop masturbating; IF I could be faithful; IF/ WHEN, IF/WHEN, IF/WHEN. When I used to drink alcohol, I used to say, “IF an IF was a 5th, then we’d all be drunk”. In other words, a 5th is about 25 drinks from a shot glass, about 750 ml. It’s basically a lot of bull. Excuses are tools of incompetence which builds monuments out of nothing, and those that use them seldom become good at anything. My mother drilled this statement in us as we were growing up. Finally, the Lord says, “Well, why don’t you stop being corrupted by the biggest nation on earth. “Huh? Lord, please explain.” I

I was just jaw dropped, mouth wide open & tongue hanging out.

thought He was referring to the United States of America. He said one word, Procrastination. I said, “What, ProcrastiNATION.” Procrastination is the biggest nation on earth?” The Lord answered, “Yes. If you want to live, you have to run from that nation and begin to be a part of the living nation of the Kingdom of God. My sons and daughters, My pastors, My prophets, My evangelists, My apostles, My enemies, My people have caused procrastination to be the biggest nation on earth. I don’t know about you, but I was just jaw dropped, mouth wide open, and tongue hanging out. I immediately repented and stopped asking for another confirmation. I immediately repented and stopped putting out fleeces. As soon as we get instructions from the Lord, our next step is to obey. Just do it! Then ask, “What’s the next step, Lord?” NOT “Lord, how is this going to happen? Where are we going to get this from? Now, Lord, you know I only have this right here, don’t you know what I have to go through to get that? Do you see who’s over there? Have you seen my credit? Did you check my budget (2 fish & 5 loaves)? How do I have the time for this, etc.?”

27

28

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

Simple. What’s the next step, Lord? “Listen and do it.” What’s the next step, Lord? “Listen and just do it!” What’s the next step, Lord? “Listen and just do it!” Notice the three step process doesn’t include procrastination? We should just say, “Show me what I need to do, Lord.” Pluck up procrastination by the roots by putting one foot in front of the other. Decree a fresh new oil to come upon you like never before. The oil (anointing) of speed is one strategy that paralyzes procrastination. Speed is the ability to quickly move towards a goal. Divine speed is the grace to achieve a Godgiven goal in God’s time. Ecclesiastes 3:1-10 says, “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” In other words, there is a “grace period” on you fulfilling your purpose. If you don’t seek, listen and obey within this grace period, God will find someone that is truly willing and obedient (Isaiah 1:19), so they can be prosperous in the land of the living. In case you didn’t know, procrastination means to delay or postpone a task. According to Wikipedia, procrastination is the avoidance of DOING A TASK that needs to be accomplished by a certain deadline. God created this world on His timeline and He has a specific number of days allotted for you to reach your destiny. You are actually on the Creator of Time deadline, not yours. God has the ability to redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16) that we spent with procrastination. Furthermore, procrastination can cause you to be a Judas in someone’s life. You are called to be an answer to prayer, not a partner to the delay of answered prayer. Someone is praying for help and the Holy Ghost tells you to give someone $25.00 for gas, but you procrastinate because the person doesn’t look like they need the money. Another person is praying for groceries, but you hesitate on buying your neighbor groceries or clothes. Remember the above definition? You have just stepped into disobedience and are not operating in your “grace period” of purpose being fulfilled. Luke 6:38 says that when you give, it is given back to you in abundance; you

won’t get that reward of blessed multiplication; you get the reward of procrastination. The reward for procrastination is abortion of destiny and corruption of vision and purpose. Not to mention the pain of watching your replacement reap your rewards. Somebody’s gonna get blessed. It might as well be you. Sometimes it’s huge, like an elephant and you must self-analyze to get to the root of why you are actually dwelling in this nation. Some reasons include fear of success, fear of making a mistake, sluggish, lazy (because you have been spoiled), distracted. How do you address an elephant in your heart? One piece at a time. Begin to peel back the layers in your heart to address the behavior of delay. Once you pluck up the procrastination tree, you can truly live your best life and eat the good of the land. Pluck it up and inspire someone. Pluck it up and enjoy your life. Pluck it up and train up your children. Pluck it up and praise God. Be willing and obedient so you can prosper in your land. Don’t be corrupted by the biggest nation on earth, procrastination. Operate in your new oil of speed. T.N.Vincent Facebook:Tonie Vincent Periscope: KingdomNaires flowriters@gmail.com

WARFARE STRATEGIES Kimberly Moses

Warfare Strategies was the name of my first television show that I had on Eternal Life TV years ago. The broadcast segment lasted about a year until I shared everything that I could concerning the subject matter. You can watch all the broadcasts on my YouTube channel by clicking on the playlist entitled, “Warfare Strategies.” You’re probably wondering why the subtitle of this book is “Biblical Weapons?” Yes, I know the Bible, in itself, is a weapon against the enemy. The Bible, or the Word of God, is the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17), but there is a deeper level. I always tell people not to get the big head or conceited when God uses them one time because there is more. You may have prophesied once, but there are realms of prophecy that you haven’t even tapped into yet.

Often, the Lord challenges us in our walks by pushing us to the next level in Him by getting us out of our comfort zones and having us to do new things. When this happens, the Lord wants us to step into the deep (Luke 5:1-6). There is a deeper level of the things of God. We can go as deep in the Lord as we want to go. I have learned not to get comfortable or complacent because, in the Lord, I’m forever learning. Once I start to feel like I have gotten the hang of something, the Holy Spirit keeps me on my toes by giving me instructions that stretch my faith. For the last few years, my faith has been tested in ways unimaginable, yet, I survived the tests and the storms. I learned to fight in the

29

30

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

spirit by fasting, praying fervently, worshiping, and watching to see what was happening (1 Samuel 12:16). I had to wait patiently on the Lord and had to be on alert concerning demonic attacks. It took me five years to write this book because of the amount of warfare that I had to endure. I faced persecution, rejection, betrayal, loss, death threats, and more. I’m ready to share with you the most profound secrets that I had to suffer to get. The Lord doesn’t want us to be ignorant of the devil’s tactics (2 Corinthians 2:11). We have to remain on our post (Ezekiel 33), then watch and pray as never before (Matthew 26:41). So much is at stake! It’s time to war and fight because we are a soldier in the army of the Lord (2 Timothy 2:3)! To combat the enemy, we need to have a strategy. It’s all about being effective once the plan is revealed. Did you know that there are hidden mysteries in the Bible that God wants to uncover? If we are ignorant of the devil’s schemes, then he has the advantage (2 Corinthians 2:11). However, if we seek the Lord for revelation, discernment, and insight, then we have the upper hand. Elisha knew the secrets in the king’s chamber (2 Kings 6:12). The Lord desires for us to know various secrets as well. The more intimate you are with the Lord, the deeper the details of the hidden things. Secrets belong to the ones who fear or in awe of God (Psalm 25:14). Inside every page of the Bible, the Holy Spirit will highlight greater depths of the treasures of the glorious living Word each time you revisit it. You can reread the same Scripture passage, and get a fresh new perspective about it. The Holy Spirit can supernaturally open up your eyes to see the hidden things. Several times in Scripture, it mentions, “They have eyes but do not see.” (Isaiah 6:10; Jeremiah 5:21; Ezekiel 12:2; Matthew 13:15; Acts 28:27; Romans 11:8). For many years this was my case. I had eyes but wasn’t able to properly discern what the living Word was speaking. My heart was dull, and I was spiritually weak. It wasn’t until, I accepted the call upon my

life as a prophet of God, that the Holy Spirit began to show me the hidden things. Once, the Lord began to show me that He was real, there was no turning back. I continued to fan the flame (2 Timothy 1:6). I urge you to call out to the Lord. He will show you great and mighty things that you didn’t know (Jeremiah 33:3). Again, why is the subtitle, “Biblical Weapons?” During the darkest moments of my life, the Lord showed me a list of weapons inside of His Word. The enemy was attacking my mind, I was on probation, almost homeless, got evicted, went through a horrible divorce, and downsized in life. Also, I was suicidal, depressed, broke, lonely, and isolated. I had no self-worth, and no hope to live! I had to call on the name of Jesus to get the strength to make it. Over time, the Lord began to bring me through a deliverance and sanctification process. I had to humble myself as I hit rock bottom. Then I allowed the Lord to train me in the wilderness. He is the Lord that trains our hands for war and our fingers for battle (Psalm 144:1). The Lord gave me prayer strategies that I had to stand upon for my breakthrough when I was going through warfare. When I renounced the sinful ways of my past and followed after Jesus Christ wholeheartedly the attacks intensified. I learned how to war in the valley season. I learned how to get a hold of the presence of God. I learned how to pray, fervently. The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16). Each chapter will cover one of the weapons that the Lord revealed to me and prayers. We are praying to God, using His Word, and allowing Him to pull down various demonic strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force (Matthew 11:12). It’s time to pray offensive prayers to get our stuff back. Fight for your family, marriage, ministry, destiny, and whatever the devil stole from you!

THE HEM OF HIS CLOAK By Shirley Cooper

“Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the edge of His cloak (Matthew 9:20).” If only I could touch the hem of His cloak. That’s been on my mind for so long. What would the results be? What grand beginnings would I encounter? How healthy would I be? What rewards would await me? What answers would I find? My mind filled with endless questions I had asked many times before. What would it be

like to actually touch the hem of Jesus’ cloak? Oh the peace that would wrap around me. The beauty of every thread. Just to touch one piece of His cloak. One.Tiny. Piece. My heart starts to beat faster. I’m anxious. I’m desperate. I’m waiting to be found. My cry sounds almost like agony at its worst a yell for help that no one on this earth could comfort. As I crawl drastically towards His feet, I lift my eyes and see only the hem of His cloak and I reach painfully to be the first to just swipe my fingers across the material.

31

32

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

As He walked gently within the crowd that smothered His complete figure, I could only see the flow of His cloak as the wind blew it from left to right. I needed to reach into that crowd and just reach for that magical moment when my hands finally get a tiny feel of His presence. What would it be like when Jesus finally notices my small, almost nonexistent touch on the bottom of His cloak that has already been touched, grabbed, and pulled on so many times? Would He even notice me? My voice too weak to scream His name... My heart too filled with hurt to be quickly drained... My eyes too focused on what has happened in my life to believe that He would ever look down at me. How about the crowd? While thousands gathered around Him getting their feel, would He even be able to find me in the dust left behind the soles of His feet? In Isaiah, God says that even through deep waters He would be with me. But what if... what if, I didn’t want to swim those deep waters anymore? What if, I needed to be pulled out now? What if I was too tired, too angry, too hurt, or just too done to swim anymore? Would He then just pull me out? That huge storm that God has promised us He’d weather with us. Remember that? But what if we needed His complete rescue instead? What if we were just too drenched to focus any further and needed complete shelter and saving? Would He pull us out of the storm instead of walking us through it?

My heart starts to beat faster. I’m anxious. I’m desperate. I’m waiting to be found. My cry sounds almost like agony at its worst - a yell for help that no one on this earth

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

Should we be so aware of the storm that we lose awareness of the God who promises to save us? Now I’m lying here worried about tomorrow cause the weight of everything, I don’t know, is so heavy I can’t sleep. Unsure. A little lost. In a blur. Cold. Overwhelmed. A thousand things run through my mind. Incapable of hearing and too shaky to feel grounded. Everything goes spinning out of control. But the only answer you need, you desire, is ..........HIS TOUCH! So, if only I could touch the hem of His cloak! He would hear my deep cries and anguish. He would understand my pain. My needs. He would truly stop, turn around and know that I need Him so very much. As I lay here wondering, somewhat dreaming, and sort of envious of the woman who bled for so many years... She touched Him. Her hurt that lasted many storms and deep waters. The many sunrises that she awaited for… for just one miracle. Endless bleeding. Almost a hopeless endeavor. Until, in a crowd of onlookers, she stood, weak, drained, and almost ready to throw in the towel, and sees the Hope she’d been searching for. A rescue that only One could handle. One so powerful that even the thread of His clothes held power. A presence so great and so strong. Every miracle lay hidden in the hem of His cloak. I lay dreaming and wondering, almost desperate to get to touch the God of the impossible! As I lie in my hospital bed with my eyes closed, I see myself being twisted and spun while watching as threads of many colors

glide over and under me. Soon realizing that the same One who stands in the cloak of many miracles is the designer of the blanket that is being designed around me. A blanket of many colors with many live threads that protect me every day. Tiny pieces of living cells just growing, multiplying and generating more life thread by thread, woven in each color by color. A safety net designed for those who believe. When the world says that it’s impossible..... those who believe look up, reach out and, even through their weakest times, close their eyes just to touch the hem of His cloak. In that hem lies every answer to questions asked, expected miracles, and a love so deep that just one swipe to that garment would pierce God’s heart. Shh.... I’ll close my eyes. Reach. And know that while some lose their faith....that doesn’t cancel out mine. I will reach for the hem of His cloak until I can no longer crawl.

BEEF STEW

Recently, I got blessed with a crockpot as a belated birthday gift. The first meal that I prepared in it was vegetarian chili, and the second was beef stew. I brought a pack of stew meat from Walmart then chopped up some onions, potatoes, carrots and added some onion soup mix. I added some water, salt, and pepper. As it cooked slowly in the crockpot, a mouth-watering aroma filled the house. My husband, who swore he would never eat beef stew ate three big bowls. Beef stew is the recipe of the month that even the pickiest eaters will devour. This Classic Homemade Beef Stew is the perfect comforting stew for chilly nights or Sunday dinners. This stew is filled with beef, potatoes, carrots, celery and peas for the perfect cold weather meal. INGREDIENTS 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

DESTINY THOMAS Interviewed by Anstrice Mcmillian Epps Interviewer: I thank you for allowing us to interview you. I came across your ministry through Instagram. One day, I asked for prayer and you prayed for me, being led by the Holy Spirit. I said, “What!” God really used you, a complete stranger, to run some things by me again. I saw all of the testimonies on Instagram about your prayer sessions; I thought it would be a good opportunity to interview you. How did you encounter God? How did God reveal Himself to you? Destiny Thomas: My initial way of encountering God was when I was about fourteen or fifteen. I had been in church since I was like eight or nine. I would see people get so emotional, just praising and thanking God, for how good He was. I’ve always been very analytical, very hands on, and I wanted to know for myself. So, I challenged God. I said, “It’s really cute that they get emotional talking about you, but I want to know You for myself. I want to know that You’re real. I want to know that prayer actually works.” At the time, my father was not in my life. I had not seen him since I was eight years old. I said God, “If You are who You say You are; if You’re as real as they say You are, God, You will have me and my father reconnect by my sixteenth birthday.” So, it was very specific. Interviewer: Oh, wow! Destiny Thomas: Yes! At that moment, I immediately heard God say, “Watch Me do it,” and it happened. So, I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, at that point, I heard God, and I knew what He sounded like but most importantly, that praying, being vulnerable, honest,

and transparent with God actually worked. I would say, in regards to knowing how powerful prayer is, how transformative prayer is, how good God is, and how much He really loves us, I didn’t learn that until I felt battled in fertility. For years, I was an entitled Christian. When I say that, what it means is, I used to ask God for stuff, and it would happen, literally, from that time with my father, so, I became entitled. It had become where if I asked God, I knew He was going to do it. Infertility was that first wake up call where God was like, “No, I’m elevating you. Now you have to do real work. Now you have to really show up and, most importantly, love Me more than what I can do for you.” Infertility is what He showed me, and after three and a half years of trying to do it on my own, spending thousands of dollars, doing surgeries and all types of things, I surrendered. God called me a hypocrite and said, “You’re a hypocrite. You’re telling people that I’m good, I’m faithful, but yet, you don’t think I can give you the first commandment that I told my people, which is to be fruitful and multiply.” After that, I had to surrender. Interviewer: Amen, Wow! I did hear one of your testimonies on a video about your infertility. God will have us in certain situations where we have to rely on Him. He has a way of telling you about yourself, and you just have to take it. That’s powerful, that’s awesome! Thank you for your transparency. Your purpose, I see that you minister prayer. How did God reveal that your purpose is to help other people in that area to hear from Him?

I see you move powerfully in prayer through the Instagram Live. Destiny Thomas: The way God showed me was through infertility. After He got me together, I kept asking God, “Why were You not answering my prayers? I was praying, God, I was crying out to You. Why were You not answering?” The Lord said to me, “Destiny, you weren’t praying at all, and I was very offended. The first thing I said was, “Well, what do You call it, because I was definitely balling, Jesus.” He said, “You were venting. You were pouring out your heart, getting a release emotionally, and when your emotions told you, you were done. Praying is actually to be in conversation with Me, but you weren’t doing that.” He asked me to tell Him what venting and conversation was. When I broke down for God what a conversation was, He said, “You start by venting. You let the person know what’s on your heart, while they sit there intensively thinking of a strategy and solution to give you of how to deal with your problem. More importantly, is that you be quiet and actually wait for the solution and strategy that they come up with.” God is the solution; God is the answer. When God revealed that to me, He revealed that to me in the form of a template on how to hear from Him every single time. Fast forward to about September, October 2017, I was at this point in my life where I was tired. I’ve always been a very analytical, green personality, mass person where everything had to always make sense, but it was weighing on me. I was crying out to God, saying, “God, I can’t do this anymore. I really want to relinquish all control to You.” My corporate job, that I had been on, after graduating high school, was stressing me out. It was making my health bad, and I was like, “God, even though my plans says I have to wait at this job to leave, until at least four to five years, because I have a son and we’re married,” I said, “God, you’re good. You can do things overnight, just like you did with my infertility.” I tried for three and a half years, to do it on my own. When I gave it to God, He did it in a

couple of months.

Interviewer: Wow! Destiny Thomas: I began to cry out, and God literally told me, “You’re leaving. I’m going to take you out of that job,” and in two weeks, He took me out of my corporate job. I thought I was crazy. Everyone around me thought I was crazy because I literally went to work and said I was never coming back. I made a lot of money, and I had a lot of debt due to making bad decisions with my infertility issues. We lived in a two-income household. However, God told me, “Destiny, if you truly want to live in my

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

purpose, and do what I have called you to do, then you will do it My way.” After leaving, you know how everyone thinks after we do a big leap for God everything was going to fall into place? That is not my story. When I left, I was like, “Okay, God, how am I going to pay these bills now?” He then told me I was to begin doing Live videos and praying for people. When he told me that, I was like, “What! Pray for people, like, on Live? No, God, no!”. God had to remind me for about a week to do these Live posts, but I was like, “No, I’m not doing this.” Then I said to myself, “You took a huge leap of faith and left your job. You need to choose obedience.” I didn’t want to be disobedient over something so small, so I found myself pushing the Live button. I thought my videos would be like church people asking for prayer for their ankles. However, I found things to be

totally different than that. As soon as I started opening my mouth, the Holy Spirit started filling my mouth. People from all over the world, Jamaica, London, Africa were coming on the Live, and God was speaking to them things that I knew I didn’t know. I knew it was God because I didn’t know these people. That is how everything started. I had to be obedient to the entire journey. Interviewer: Amen, this is blessing me right now. I feel like you are talking about the very things I’m going through right now. Oh, Lord, this is awesome how things worked out. We can want things our way so bad. However, until we give our issues to God, nothing works out. He is waiting on us, and as soon as we give it to Him, everything works out. This is awesome and how transparent you are, which

leads to the next question. What wisdom would you give to people who struggle to allow the Holy Spirit to lead? What wisdom would you share with others in that area?

feel? Do you wake up every morning fulfilled and know you are doing what God called you to do? God’s track record is perfect and yours isn’t.

Destiny Thomas: The wisdom I have is how has it been working for you so far? For me, it had been twenty plus years, and I have to clarify that many people think we have to hit rock bottom to want to change, but that is not always the case. My life was not necessarily bad. To the outside world, my life wasn’t bad. I had a great life. I went into corporate America between seventeen to eighteen years old. I made a lot of money. I was able to buy a house, and I was married at twenty-one. Even though I went through fertility issues after my first child, things looked perfect to the outside world but to me, there was a void. My purpose was not being fulfilled. I always used to say, “I don’t want to get before God and hear well done because I gave my life to Christ. I wanted Christ to say well done because I actually came here and fulfilled my assignment that He gave me before He placed me in my mother’s womb.” This, to me, are two different things. Many are okay with just getting by, but I wanted to truly give up what I had to give up, give up the facade, give up the materialistic things and be crushed for God so that He could take me where He wanted to take me. So, I would tell people if you have “success,” but you’re still unfulfilled, is it really working for you?

Interviewer: Amen to that. What are some ways you started allowing the Holy Spirit to lead your life? What are some things others can learn to allow Him to lead? For some people, it’s hard to let the Holy Spirit lead. Do you have any advice for those who struggle to release control unto the Holy Spirit?

We must focus on what makes us fulfilled and happy, not what the world says is happiness. I myself was not happy. Yes, money was cute, but I actually wanted to be home with my family. I worked in sales and I could make five thousand dollars a month in bonuses, but I wasn’t happy. People around me were like, “I can’t believe you are not excited about this.” I would have rathered been home with my child that I prayed to God earnestly for Him to give me. My question to those reading this is how do you really feel? Not what we publicly show, but how do you feel behind the scenes? When you are in shower, how do you truly

Destiny Thomas: I would say it’s a couple of things. Most of the time, we look at praying as an obligation, or we do it just to do it like a check the box kind of thing. I personally had to be honest with myself. My relationship was about a wisdom thing. Kind of like, “What is in this for me?” Even from a young age, my relationship with God was like, “I want to know who my dad is so, God, can you do this thing for me?” I started growing because I had the attitude about what is in this for me. I was at a job I didn’t want to be at and it was stressing me out. This made me, every morning, spend time with God selfishly. However, what ended

As soon as I started opening my mouth, the Holy Spirit started filling my mouth.

Many are okay with just getting by, but I wanted to truly give up what I had to give up.

up happening by going into my relationship with him selfishly began to improve within my life. Then God began to show me that this success doesn’t just have to be at work, but in my marriage and parenting. I then began to spend more and more time with God. So much time that God began to love on me. When He began to love on me, He began to show me my God given identity. Not what the world or myself told me who I was, but my true identity of who God had called me to be. In that, it made me keep thriving to give Him more reign. So many times, we treat God like exercise, right? Like, “I’m about to go out here and work out five days a week.” No you’re not, who are you lying to {Laughs}? You haven’t worked out in a year. Yes, that’s me; I’m like, “Destiny, why do you keep telling yourself that? You have to start small. You have to walk five minutes a day, so you have to start small.” You have to do the “What’s in it for me” in order for it to go somewhere. The same with meeting someone, right? You are either

attracted to them, or they said something that engaged you. So what’s in it for me? Oh, they’re cute to me, right? So, I look at it the same way that you have to come to the realization to be selfish for God. A lot of us don’t want to say that because of the way it sounds. “Oh my gosh, you’re being selfish for God.” No! Which takes me into the second thing I learned. I learned that the more vulnerable, honest and transparent I was with God, the clearer He spoke to me. A lot of us don’t say we are afraid because the Bible says to not be afraid, but the Bible says to not be afraid because we’re supposed to go to God and bring our fears to God so He can then remind us what the Word says so we cannot be afraid. We are supposed to be our transparent, vulnerable self with God so that He can do the work. We are walking around, going to the hospital saying, “Nothing is wrong,” but waiting on the doctor. God is the Doctor! If you’re saying to God, “I’m good, nothing is wrong,” but waiting on the doctor, or you keep praying those surface prayers with God like, “Oh, God, can you pay my light bill?” Instead of saying, “I’m a bad steward over my money. God, I have a poverty mindset.” I never want to say I can’t afford something because when I was a child, we couldn’t afford things. You have to dig deep with God in order for Him to do the work in you. So that will be the second thing I learned. Then, the last thing I learned was what I touched on earlier that you really need to give God that space to pour into you. If you are just going into prayer, just pouring out and pouring out, you are allowing your emotions to lead your life and that is a big problem and a very dangerous place to be. I always tell my clients and students, “If you poured out for 15 minutes, by golly, you better sit there for 15 minutes and let God speak.” I don’t care if He only speaks the last two minutes, you are required to give God the same amount of time He gave you at a minimum. A lot of us do 20 minutes of pouring out, and then give God two minutes and say, “Oh, my husband

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

needs dinner.” He needed dinner before you sat down, Ma’am!

are some wisdom gems right here, thank You Lord.

Interviewer: {Laughs} Amen. Oh well, yes, that is so true. I believe as well that God loves when we are honest because He always knows anyway, so we might as well tell Him the truth. We do, I’m guilty of that. Some of us speak out in tongues, we pour out and say, “Holy Spirit, speak to us,” but we don’t sit down, we are not quiet and being still, and really listening and receiving from God. Receive from His Throne, that is so true. These

So, with that being said, you have a lot of passion in your prayer sessions. I have seen a lot of love of God for people through your Instagram Lives. Even though Social Media can have all these negatives, it still has some good effects because you’re able to reach thousands, yet millions, of people, and you can feel the love of God on the broadcast even though you’re not near them. So during your sessions, a couple of your testimonies,

43

44

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

and even that one session I was on, you have compassion and love for God’s people. If you can name one thing, what is your passion for the Body of Christ as far as something that you have for the people of God? I know I said one thing, but if you have something else, that’s ok. Destiny Thomas: {Laughs} My passion is for people is to get to know God on their own. I have found that, and I always like to start with this, that I’m an active church member, and I love church. I have no issue with church, but what I do have an issue with is that fact that we have now institutionalized God. God is very clear that the Church is His Bride making Him a separate entity, making Him two separate things, and what we have done, as a community, is institutionalized Him. We have put our Pastors, ushers, our gifts and talents above actually seeking God. God has given us a Shepard, but if the only way you are hearing from God is through your Shepard, then you’re out of order because at the end of

We are “ supposed to

be our transparent, vulnerable self with God so that He can do the work.

the day, you’re basically giving an imperfect human being reign over your life and if you think you’re going to get in front of God and say, “My Pastor said this,” and that’s going to get you into Heaven, it’s not going to work. It’s like getting pulled over by a cop and say, “I didn’t know the speed limit.” Well, guess what? This ticket is still yours, Ma’am, so that’s how it works. It just hurts my heart because we have gotten to a point of putting God in a box. How dare we put God in a box, who has created everyone! He has created everyone, who is also different, so God wants to truly tailor Himself to His people. And like I said a little earlier in seeking God: God not only revealed who He was, He revealed who I was in Him. If we seek God for ourselves, God will clarify for us the areas that we need to be grown in. God will reprimand us, God will correct us, and more importantly, God will have us on one accord with our minister, our Pastor, and our church because God is a God of decency and order. But, if you’re allowing your man or woman of God to be your in dog be all, you are in a not so safe place because we should always be taking every sermon back to God. We should be reading the Word for ourselves and reading the full content of the Scripture and not just taking “Because someone said it.” We have gotten away from doing the work and getting to know God is work. I always say going up to the altar is like filling out an application and them calling you saying that you got the job. It’s cute to have a job. It’s cute to say, “I was a millionaire,” but if I’m not a millionaire today, it’s because I didn’t do the work to sustain the millions, right? So you have to do the work and we don’t want to do the work so that’s what I’m passionate about which is why my clients call me the Prayerpist because outside of live prayer, I actually picked up on one on one and group coaching sessions which are very similar to therapy or life coaching but the only difference with my sessions are there are holy and completely Holy Spirit led so that the only words that

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

45

46

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2019

leave my mouth, in those sessions, are words that God told me to tell people so God is a God of root. He starts at the root. Once you go to regular therapy, because I have done it before when I was dealing with infertility, you can tell the therapist whatever you want to tell them, and they have to coach you based on what you believe. But, when you’re dealing with God, God isn’t going to let you get out of that session without speaking on what needs to be spoken on. So, God deals with the root. He goes to the abandonment, the rejection, the identity issues, and people pleasing issues. Not only does He bring those things to the surface, He leaves you with actual clarity, direction, and instruction on how to move forward and being healed from those things. Every session is ended with a prophetic letter to you from God. That is why God has allowed those testimonies to be so powerful because He gets all the glory. I always say, “Keep me humble because I can’t take credit for it, I don’t know these people.” That is what I’m passionate about: really introducing people to God and sharing in my sessions and with my clients that template that God gave me to show me how to actually be vulnerable, how to sit still, and how to let Him pour into me. Interviewer: Amen. There are two more questions to ask you. This is a powerful, powerful interview. The transparency, that’s what we need. We need transparency. I also wanted to ask if there were any upcoming events or projects that you are working on that you would like to mention?

else, is called Realizing Destiny is because I’m on a journey coming into the realization of who God has called me to be through prayer. My podcast is basically that. It talks about different topics whether it’s marriage, entrepreneurship, motherhood, and the importance of prayer in those particular categories because I think we forget how important prayer is and putting God in the forefront is. In regards to events, I am speaking in Philadelphia on August 24th, and I do have a retreat, but that is open to my monthly prayer coaching students. You would have to be in one of those classes in order to go to the retreat. It’s just an opportunity for us to meet face to face because all of my stuff is offered online. This will be so that we can connect with the prayer coaching classes and bring it to life.

Destiny Thomas: I host Prayerapy Sessions everyday that’s on my calendar. If you’re someone who feels stuck, needs clarity, direction, or if you need to learn how to discern God’s voice for yourself, you can definitely sign up for one of those sessions at realizingdestiny. com. I also do a monthly group class, but the June class is currently full. July will be the next Also, I have a book called A War I Couldn’t class for the group. I also have a podcast. The Win Alone. This is the story about my infertility journey, but more importantly, the reason why my Instagram, and everything

importance of trusting God no matter what human beings or your natural state tells you. I’m releasing my second book on my birthday, which is on June 29th, which is called Abandonment Unveiled. For years, I thought that my marriage was failing because of infertility, but the Lord revealed to me very quickly that it was because of abandonment and rejection. The book is extra vulnerable and I’m not ready for it, but you just have to be obedient to God.

Destiny Thomas: Through my website at realizingdestiny.com, on Instagram at Realizing_Destiny, that’s also where I go live for prayer. I’ll be going live for prayer on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:30PM, Eastern Standard Time. Also, you can find me through my podcast, which is on all podcasting platforms, which is called Realizing Destiny Podcast. Social Media handles is Realizing_Destiny on Instagram and Destiny Realizing Destiny Thomas on Facebook.

Interviewer: Amen. I’m so glad that you mentioned the books, and congratulations on that. We pray that God blesses them and that they are bestsellers in the name of Jesus. Also, what are some ways that people can contact you?

Interviewer: Thank you so much for taking the time to interview with us. Destiny Thomas: You’re welcome, thank you for reaching out.
