SEASON OF RESTORATION BY PASTOR BRIAN MACHACHE

In the beginning of 2020, God told me to encourage the body of Christ to pray for a restoration of three things: 1) Restoration of a passion and hunger for God; 2) Restoration of the fear of God; and 3) Restoration of the zeal and fire for the work of God.

I strongly feel that we need to continue to pray along those lines. The devil is celebrating because he has managed to steal these things from the body of Christ. It is time for restoration. The fire for God is coming back to the church.

RESTORATION OF A PASSION AND HUNGER FOR GOD We are living in a time when many of God’s children have lost their passion for God. Many people are in church but yet they are not seeking the face of God anymore. The desire to spend time with God is no longer there in church. The devil is

Homosexuality, lesbianism and witchcraft are being legalized in some churches. The rate of immorality, abortion and prostitution has gone so high. SHOULD I STAY IF MY MAN HITS ME? BY KIMBERLY MOSES

Domestic violence seems to be at an all-time high during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Women have been victims of physical abuse and afraid to go to a shelter because of the lack of social distancing protocols. As a result, they stay home and endure violence. Sadly, many have died as a result. If you are a

victim of domestic violence, it’s not your fault. Anything can trigger your abuser. Saying the wrong thing, looking a certain way, or not doing something to their standards could result in your face being a punching bag. Women are natural nurturers and they are very do-

mestic or family-oriented. Their husbands can sleep around with other women and they will choose to stay in the marriage. Since most women are wired this way, they will stay if their man beats them as well. Some believe that they can change their abuser. However, only God can change someone. I

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

have been extremely frustrated in the past trying to change my ex-husband. Nothing I did worked. The harder I tried, the more things became worse. Shortly after, we divorced.

back and decided to leave. Some women don’t fight back and their abusers feel like they can continue to get away with it. Some abusers prey on people’s vulnerability.

Women should go somewhere safe while they pray and believe God to deliver their abusive husbands. If you are single or not married and getting abused, it’s easier for you to leave that relationship because it’s not a covenant like marriage and no true commitment. There are shelters and hotlines to get help. They are very discreet and protecting battered women are their top priority.

My old mentor told me a story about a lady who got mad at him because he didn’t agree with her decision to marry her boyfriend. One day he was praying about her getting married to this man and he heard the Holy Spirit say, “No. He is not the one.” My old mentor told the woman what he heard in prayer and she said, “You don’t want me to be happy. You are trying to hold me back.” Well, she didn’t listen to God’s warning and got married. Shortly into the marriage, her husband started beating her. She went to my old mentor and his wife and they counseled her to leave but she refused. A few days later, the woman’s husband beat her to death. My old mentor told me that was one of the hardest things he ever had to go through in ministry because he grew to love and care about the deceased woman.

Some states don’t play when it comes to domestic violence. My sister got into a fight with her child’s father one day. She and I went down to the magistrate office and reported him. A few hours later, the cops came to his job and arrested him. Also when my ex-husband and I got into an altercation, I got arrested. If there is a domestic violence charge on your record, you will be hindered in many ways. I couldn’t get a good job or live in a decent area. I was used to people telling me that I was a criminal because they assumed that I was a violent person. When my ex-husband hit me, I fought

My husband used to be a womanizer. He beat the women that he dated and shacked up with. One day, one of the women stabbed him with a knife. He had to go to the hospital to get

stitches. He tells his story in his book Who Touch Me? My Journey to Jesus. God began to work on his heart and he began to walk away when he wanted to punch the women that he dated instead of hitting them. He knew he needed to change his lifestyle, so he ended up single for years while focusing 100% on the Lord. Many women feel that their man loves them because they hit them. Well, I have news: that’s not love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it [does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” These verses are a great reminder that love is kind and not irritable. A person that truly loves you won’t hurt or abuse you. Hitting is not love. I don’t promote divorce but if you are in a marriage, use wisdom. Your safety and life is top priority. I recommend a time of separation so your abuser can get help. If you are not married, you don’t have to settle. God has someone better for you and they will never lay a hand on you.

GIVING YOUR BUSINESS THE HOLY TOUCH BY SHIRLEY ANN COOPER

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (Proverbs 16:3) What makes a business great? GOD!

Plain and simple: GOD does!!! And before anyone comes to THIS article spewing some nonsense that there are MANY UNGODLY businesses that have made it

successfully, I’ll elaborate a little deeper....... When GOD becomes the center of YOUR business, NOTHING can or WILL come AGAINST it BRINGING it DOWN. When GOD is EVERYTHING, anything

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

that DOES try to destroy your business, those mighty hands that you have given control to becomes the power behind EVERY step that YOU walk! Yes, there are huge ungodly companies! That’s a given. I mean, come on, to say any different would be completely foolish. However, when God is NOT present, neither is protection: a protection that only God can bring. When we look at some Christian companies out there, you’d be surprised how many there are and shocked at how they’ve managed to stay fresh. Chick-fil-A has managed to expand becoming a major American fast-food chain, with more than 1,500 locations in 39 states. While they are large in numbers, they too have been attacked. People have tried to hit them hard by fighting against the powerful company and smacking it’s religious strengths directly, complaining about their “ONLY” Sunday openings and their “PERSONAL” spiritual beliefs. They have been shunned by the gay community as well. BUT through every attack, God is present making every swing from others against them nearly impossible to make physical

contact. While many have tried boycott challenges and other punches against the big business, none were ever able to prosper and succeed. Chick-fil-A still stands strong and untouchable. That’s not exactly a “business” everyday occurrence. I strongly believe that it’s definitely a God thing and almost like the story of Gideon. While fighting against armies, and standing with only 300 men, making it God’s battle rather than his, Gideon found purpose in his life and therefore grew to know that if God is placed in the center of his world, nothing can tear down what is built. Even when it looks too small to win. The victory belonged to the Lord. God amplified His destruction by allowing an army of 300 hundred facing an army of thousands to counter-attack, bringing that larger army of UNGODLY men to fall one by one. Tyson Foods employs 1290 office chaplains to provide “compassionate pastoral care” to office employees. The company’s core value says that it “strives to honor God,” and “be a faith-friendly company.” In-N-Out Burgers has had some backlash and many attacks due to their “religious

beliefs,” which is shared through some printed work on their cupboard cups, containers and wrappers. But enough about feathery and beefy conversation and let’s chat a more fashionable word like Forever 21! After you’ve made your purchase, at this major mall paradise, have you noticed a biblical reference under your bags that says “John 3:16?” But, um, isn’t that a little too

19

20

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

biblical? Well, according to some, it’s pretty radical as well? Mrs. Chang, the owner of Forever 21 said in an interview, “God told me to open up a store, BECAUSE I would be successful!” When the store came out with some religious-based tee shirts, the store was criticized in 2011. But against all odds, Forever 21 has made it to 2020 still standing strong! Marriott Hotel, Interstate Batteries, Hobby Lobby, who actually sued the government on religious grounds over being required to provide insurance which covered emergency contraception. With 500 stores in 41 states, Hobby Lobby is bold about their Christian belief. They speak their belief on their website and have made it loud and clear that their company is held up by more than just steel and wooden beams.”We believe that it is by God’s grace and provision that Hobby Lobby has endured. He has been faithful in the past, we trust Him for our future.” And allow me to whisper this supernatural outcome: the supreme court ruled in a 5-4 decision that the government cannot require certain employers to provide insurance coverage for birth control if they conflict with the

employer’s religious beliefs. On a more beautiful outlook, allow us to beautify this article just a little without the spongy applicator and listen to a voice of reason. The founder of Mary Kay boldly spoke out asking her audience to, “take God as our partner.” This isn’t what people might consider a “coincidence.” I truly, wholeheartedly believe that God has manifested Himself through these businesses, making Himself noticeable enough for others to see that these things don’t just happen and that when they do, GOD is THE ANSWER! So, when we ask what makes a business great? We simply have to answer: GOD DOES! Life happens and businesses DO make it. It’s just something that is bound to happen. Success comes in many forms and the same way that God has His tools and vessels, using them for His glory, the devil lurks around using his squirmy, wormy, sweet, candy-coated bait for his! So placing God at the center of your life is an excellent idea that carries an insurance far greater and stronger than what Geico

had to offer and holds a lifetime guarantee that can never be shaken. I know that there will be attacks headed my way. Maybe some that come hard, leaving me feeling weak and completely emotional. That’s the life we were born into. And while we’re not promised the perfect life, we are promised that no matter what does come our way, it will not prosper so long as it comes to disrupt or destroy. We will overcome it because we have all authority to overcome any situation. God has assured us that while at any moment destruction may arrive, it cannot hurt us for too long. Today, take your business, your life, and anything that you hold dear to you and lift it up to God and give Him full control even when you can’t see the fruit ahead. Know that the snow-covered crops are under that cold bed of ice being cared for and strengthened only by hands that Create a supernatural outcome! An outcome NOT of THIS world! Victory!

APOSTLE JOSHUA GILES INTERVIEWED BY KIMBERLY MOSES

Interviewer: Thank you so much Man of God for agreeing to do this interview today.

started out just singing on the praise team.

Apostle Joshua Giles: Thank you for the privilege and honor to be interviewed. I love to see kingdom, spiritfilled publications like what you’re doing. I think it’s awesome.

Apostle Joshua Giles: My brothers are all musical, so they played instruments. I have three brothers so we started that way and we were forced to do it, like “Hey, you got to get up there and sing.” I was probably maybe five at the time. So from then on, I was doing ministry and doing anything that had to be done in the church, from playing instruments if I had to, to ushering if I needed to. Around the age of eight was when I remember having that real encounter with Jesus in one of the services that I was in.

Interviewer: What was your journey in your salvation of Christ Jesus? Apostle Joshua Giles: My salvation experience was very interesting. I grew up in a family of believers - my parents are Pastors. I came up in a very strict household and all I knew was church; all I knew was the Christian experience. Back then, the experience for me was somewhat kind of sheltered and closed off, but I’m so grateful for coming up that way. If you ever heard of the experiences of pastor’s kids, mine was somewhat different from some of the other experiences that I’ve heard. I of course was forced to be a part of church and ministry from an early age. So I

Interviewer: Wow!

Interviewer: Amen. Apostle Joshua Giles: That’s when things started to become more real to me. Of course at the age of twelve, God just completely took me on a different journey. At the age of twelve, I got even more serious about God. I began fasting, seeking God, and really just going after God, even in my school

years. From that early age, I was really pushed into ministry. I started traveling and speaking. It wasn’t something that I wanted to do at the time. There was a Pastor of a neighboring church that had seen my journey with God and they knew that I was saved from a young age and really just going after God. They came to my parents and said, “Hey! We want him to come and speak at our church.” I was fourteen. Interviewer: Wow!! Apostle Joshua Giles: That was the beginning (laughs) of that journey. Interviewer: Wow! Yes. That’s awesome that you were young like that and God called you. God is so awesome. How did you know you were a Prophet? How did that journey start out for you? Apostle Joshua Giles: Well, that was interesting too because I just grew up around Prophets and Prophetic people; people in my family and other ministries that we

were connected and associated with. It was very common for me and then my parents are both Prophets in their own light and so my experience was as a kid you couldn’t really get away with anything because my mom would dream it or see it and come to you and tell you, “Hey, this is what’s going on,” and so I thought everybody had these experiences as a kid. (Laughs) When I eventually began to grow up and have friends, they told me it’s not normal. (Laughs) What I was experiencing was not normal. Interviewer: (Laughs)

Apostle Joshua Giles: So for me at that age, it was just this knowing that God put in me from as young as eight years old. I knew that I would travel, I knew that I would preach, and I knew I would go to different countries. I didn’t know how at that time, but I knew it would happen and then I got confirming words. From that young age on up throughout my teenage years, people who didn’t know me would see me in a church, call me out, and start prophesying over my life. They would say, “God said you’re a Prophet to the Nations. You’re going to go around the world. You’re going to travel.” At the time, I was frustrated when I would get those words because in those years, God wasn’t really dealing with me like that. I was seeking after God and I loved Him with all my heart but I wasn’t hearing anything in the spirit. I was not prophesying to people. There was no evidence of that to me personally. The only thing that I could do at that time was worship. That’s all I knew, and so through that worship and spending time with God and just connecting that way, those were the moments where I would hear God speaking to me but I didn’t know at that time that that was God. I just thought that maybe I was inspired and something just came to me. I had no

idea God was communicating with me the whole time. That progressed on and pushed me to get to know the Holy Spirit and really build that relationship to where it just became so real. That experience with Him was just such an amazing journey. Interviewer: Amen! And your testimony is encouraging to me because the Lord called me during a dark time in my life to ministry and I sat for two years in full-time ministry before anybody ever invited me to do anything. I was just preparing. Like you said, you didn’t know what to do except worship and one of the things I did was worship and get to know God. What nations have you visited? What was an experience you can share about, maybe a country you went to, and how you overcame some challenges by just traveling to the nations? Apostle Joshua Giles: Well, I think the first place that was very significant to me was traveling to the Middle East. At that time, I had already been to places in Europe, but this was the first time going over into the Middle East. I was in a situation where I was obeying God. I stepped out on faith to do ministry. I was pastoring and I didn’t have any finances. I had just given all of my life savings into a vision because the Lord told me, “Hey, the

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

money that you’ve been saving up for these years, that’s your seed.” Interviewer: Wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: I had fought that. I said, “God this is my life’s saving!” (Laughs) Interviewer: (Laughs) I know right! (Laughs) Apostle Joshua Giles: (Laughs) Now looking back on it, it’s not a whole lot to me now but it was a whole lot to me then. It was at least between 10 to 20 thousand dollars, but that was a lot to me. Interviewer: Yea! (Laughs) Apostle Joshua Giles: It’s still significant now but I’m thinking, “God this is what I saved. I’ve been saving this up,” and God said, “That’s your seed.” And I planted that in a vision that the Lord told me to do. It didn’t work out. It went south and I ended up owing money and needing somebody to sow into me. I was frustrated. I was upset, and I said, “God, I love you with all my heart but every time you tell me to step out and do something and I obey you, why does it seem like I’m the one stuck holding the bag? I’m the one who has to suffer for this and I don’t see the fruit from what you’re telling me to do? God, I’ll do whatever you want me to do but I’ll never do that again.” At that moment, it was very frustrat-

ing. It was very dark. It was horrible for me because it didn’t line up. How is it that God is telling me to do this but then when I do it, it falls apart? And so I didn’t know it at the time but that was my testing period where the Lord was really challenging me in the same way that He did with Abraham and Isaac. He will give you a promise and then tell you to offer it back up to Him. He wants to see if your obedience is fully in Him, are you after just things or material possessions, or is the promise more important than the promise giver. At that time I had to walk through that phase and it was during that time that I got a call from someone in Israel that I didn’t know and they said, “We want to bring you to Israel and we want you to share on this experience.” It opened up ministry for me there and they said, “Oh and by the way, we’re paying all of your expenses.” Interviewer: Amen! Thank you, God! Apostle Joshua Giles: So they brought me and one other person who was with me. They said they were paying for everything. They said the expenses are adding up. I think it was the same amount of the life savings that I had saved up. And they said, “We’re paying everything for you.” And so they brought me over there and while I was over there, I had such an amazing expe-

rience of ministry. I began to weep in the presence of God and just cry and repent for telling God that I would never do the thing that He was asking me to do. It was a journey for me. The Lord used the nations to heal me. There were many experiences like that. I remember going into the continent of Africa, which is one of my favorite places to be. Any of the countries there are amazing. I’ve been several times to South Africa and then to other areas in Africa. I’ve been to Zimbabwe. I had a life-changing experience in Zimbabwe and South Africa

and even when I went to Egypt. The prayer that they have, the lifestyle of prayer that believers have there is so contagious that it is beyond what you see just in a church building. Interviewer: Amen! Apostle Joshua Giles: It was so different to me. Have you ever had that experience in America where the atmosphere has been set and people have been praying? Where it’s charged up and it’s so powerful? Going to Africa was my first time experiencing that not in a building but just walking out on the streets and just going

out. Interviewer: Wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: We know that this is a praying nation. You can feel it in the atmosphere and you can see the dedication of the people and how they suffer greatly. For instance, in Zimbabwe, when I was there with my spiritual father, Bishop Tudor Bismark, the unemployment rate was 90%. Ninety percent of the population don’t have jobs and they’re struggling to make ends meet and to do whatever they can. I was in tears watching this because though they have the 90% unemployment rate, the people’s love for God is off the chart. They still show up and praise, worship, declare the word and so ministering in Africa is one of the best experiences for me that I’ve had. I ministered at so many churches in South Africa as well and the way the praise... the worship experience! God! It’s something that the American churches have no idea how power-filled it is. There’s such a tangible anointing that’s there. When I preach there, it’s easy to minister. When I’m in some of the African Nations, it’s a little bit challenging to preach in the prophetic because they’ve had such an invasion of false prophets there. Some of the articles and stuff that we see popping up on Facebook where prophets are making people

drink oil or gasoline or eat this or that, I thought that stuff was fake until I went. My Bishop said to me, “Look, you have a hard challenge coming to Africa because you’re a prophet. Many of the churches and the areas that you’re going into don’t receive or believe in prophets anymore because they have seen such abuse of the prophetic. It will be very challenging when you do this. You’ve got your work cut out for you.” And so when I went into those churches on that trip, many of the Pastors were fleecing God. They were saying in their hearts, “Well if he’s true, tell him this or if he’s true, let this happen.” I didn’t know anything about it and so I would get up preach. Then strong prophetic words and utterances would come and it just so happens the Lord would reveal to me what was in the hearts of the Pastors. The Pastors would begin to say, “Oh my god! We know that you are a true Prophet because this is what we said: if he’s true, let him say this, this and this.” And of course, that’s not the normal experience (laughs) for prophetic ministry but I think the Lord was renewing the heart of those ministries there and also letting those Pastors know that yes the false is there but God does have pure prophetic voices that He is raising up and that are

not abusing their gift and are not going to abuse the people because the prophetic is so needed now. It’s the backbone of the church. Interviewer: Absolutely, so can you share a mindblowing miracle that God did in your ministry? Something that made you say wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: Well one of the first miracles that the Lord used me to do, and I’ve been around healing ministries before, but I’d say going back ten years ago when the Lord was really pushing me into healing ministry. It was out of my comfort zone because at that time I was so used to the prophetic ministry and people have a tendency to box you in; and so when you’re called to one area they see you in that area, they don’t want to let you out of that. God had pushed me into the Apostleship and my Spiritual Father said, “Hey, this is who you are. You’re called as an Apostle. This is what you’re called to do. I know that people are locking you into this Prophet title, but this is who you are.” And so it took me changing my mind and saying, “Ok, God, I don’t want another title but I’ll do the function that you’re calling me to do.” And so when I started stepping out into doing the Apostolic work and planting churches and covering churches, there was a need

for people to see the demonstration of the power of God and so God just started moving and healing. It was about ten years ago where the Lord told me that there was somebody that was deaf who was in the service that I was ministering in. He gave me the specific word of knowledge about what their condition was and I had never done this up to that point. I said, “You know you’re in here, that you’re deaf, and this is what you’re experiencing in one of your ears.” I told them which one and somebody brought the person up there to me. Interviewer: Wow. Apostle Joshua Giles: So I’m like, “Ok, God, what are we going to do now?” (Laughs) And the Holy Spirit walked me through it and He said, “Get oil and put your finger in the oil and then take your finger and then put it in the person’s ear.” We had hundreds of people in the service and they were just watching and people were excited. Some were kind of spectating but I just took faith and began to call their ear to open in the name of Jesus and instantly they started screaming so loud. It was one of the notable miracles that I experienced earlier on ten years ago. And they screamed so loud and they were saying, “Oh my God! I can hear in this ear! I haven’t had hearing in this ear for so many years.” I

God had pushed me into the Apostleship and my Spiritual Father said, “Hey, this is who you are. You’re called as an Apostle. This is what you’re called to do. I know that people are locking you into this Prophet title, but this is who you are.” And so it took me changing my mind and saying, “Ok, God, I don’t want another title but I’ll do the function that you’re calling me to do.”

think it was like 30 years and so people who knew them could attest to that and to the miracle. That was the beginning where I started taking the limits off God and I’m like, “Ok, God, this is a partnership with you. You tell me to step out and do it, even if I’ve never done it before. I’m going to trust in you and believe you.”

Interviewer: Amen! Amen! That’s so powerful. I wish I would have seen that. I saw that you did a video and you were out there on the streets right were George Floyd was murdered and it’s like revival is going on. Is this really revival? Apostle Joshua Giles: Oh yea, it’s really a revival happening now and I’m excited about this. This is one of my favorite things to talk about right now because this was the whole reason that I moved to Minneapolis. I first started coming to Minneapolis about eleven years ago. I’d come up here and do trainings. I didn’t know at the time that the Holy Spirit wanted me to move. He told me and I fought it a little bit and eventually, I accepted that, so I moved here seven years ago from North Carolina. Interviewer: Oh wow! What part are you from? Apostle Joshua Giles: Raleigh. I lived in Raleigh for most of my life. Interviewer: Oh ok, I’m from North Carolina too. I’m from Fayetteville. Apostle Joshua Giles: Oh yea! Well, you’re right down the street. That’s not that far at all. (Laughs) Interviewer: (Laughs) Yep. Apostle Joshua Giles: But that’s where I was and I loved Raleigh. The weather

And so when I started stepping out into doing the Apostolic work and planting churches and covering churches, there was a need for people to see the demonstration of the power of God and so God just started moving and healing. is good in North Carolina. It’s moderate. But Minnesota for me, I love the people, I actually loved the state too at the time but I thought “God, it’s too cold up there in the winter. I can’t move up there.” (Laughs) Interviewer: (Laughs) Apostle Joshua Giles: God, when He has a plan, you cannot fight his plan. What the Lord began to do earlier on for me was put such a love for this area in my heart. I fell in love with the area and it was like night and day. One year I was like, “God, I can’t do that.” The next year I was like, “I know this is where I’m supposed

to be.” The area is speaking to me. I love it . I love the people. I know that I’m called to minister to the people and so when I initially came, the Holy Spirit gave me this prophetic word. Everywhere that I was going at that time, God was telling me to prophesy this. There are members at my church now who knew me then at some of those services where I was giving this word and He said, “There would come a day where the eyes of the world are on Minnesota.” Interviewer: Wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: The eyes of the world are on Minneapolis! He said, “When that time comes,” I didn’t know the conditions surrounding it but He said, “A revival will be sparked that will start in Minnesota and it will go throughout the world.” And so I would prophesy this over and over again to the point where people got tired of hearing it. I’m telling that like, “Hey, God is saying there’s coming a time where the whole world will be looking at Minnesota and it’s going to spark that revival.” And so the other thing that the Lord told me at that time was to begin to declare over our communities and God said, “I’m lifting the reproach off of the African American Community.” Interviewer: Thank you,

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

God! Apostle Joshua Giles: And that wasn’t even popular to prophesy back then because I remember people looking at me funny. You know I now pastor a multiracial church and so some people were looking at me like, “Ok, what are you saying?” and I said, “This is what the Lord is saying. He’s lifting the reproach off of the African American community.” Those prophecies were one altogether and so now fast forward to this time and people who were there in some of those services that remembered those words came to me and said, “This is what you were prophesying back then: the eyes of the world are on Minnesota.” And so we were looking for the revival before it started. What we did was immediately when the protest started, where the killing happened and then the protest started, and then of course you know people came from other places and burned some of the buildings. The mayor let us know that all of the people they had arrested were outsiders. They weren’t from people here and so I was there literally on the ground praying for our city and standing up for justice. When the buildings were burning and I had never seen anything like it in my life. There was just so much going on and you’re talking about in that one area. I think in total, it was

something like 115 buildings burned down and destroyed. Interviewer: Jesus! That’s crazy. Apostle Joshua Giles: Yes, that’s crazy. In that one area near where George Floyd was killed it’s like a few blocks away. You’re talking about like 30 stores and buildings destroyed in that one area. And I was standing out there during that time and praying. I had been a part of the peaceful protest, standing up for justice because the system needs to change and the Lord began to put in my heart that word on revival. The first thing we did, and many other churches in the area as well, is we knew the stores were down. They also shut down the bus and transportation systems. Thousands of people rely on that kind of transportation to get around, so when you don’t have any stores and don’t have any bus systems, people can’t get food. What we did was just kind of went in our church, pulled out a budget from nowhere, and started buying up thousands of dollars worth of food from the suburb areas. We brought it into ground zero where the stores were burned and set up table after table of food, any kind of food. Then we bought some baby products and pampers and whatever we could and we did this for so many days.

We gave it away for free in the community and that really was the spark of revival. It didn’t start with the preaching. It started with the community coming together to heal itself. Yes of course, as I said, still standing up for justice and believing for reform but I also watched all kinds of people stand with our community, stand with black Americans, and say, “We want to help.” There were people that drove from Wisconsin and Iowa. I had people come from Georgia, from all over and they would find us out there on the street and they would walk up to me and say, “We came from this state. How can we help? What can we do?” And these were white, black, I mean it was everybody. We just started putting people to work and like, “Ok, you can do this part.” We had the fire department and so many businesses walk up and say, “We want to help you. How can we donate?” It turned into this huge community giving event and so that happened for days around that time. Finally, the buses came back up so we could kind of pull back from some of that because people could get around, but around that time the Holy Spirit shifted me. He said, “You’ve been standing up for justice in the community and protesting and giving out food. Now I want you to shift gears because

I’m now bringing revival.” Interviewer: Amen. Apostle Joshua Giles: And so God then had us turn to ministering to the people that were coming. We began by praying for many of them that were walking up, people from all walks of life. Then I got asked to come to the street where George Floyd was killed to preach on that street, so that’s where I’ve been going for several days now preaching and ministering. It just kind of continued from there. There were about 50 churches that had come together and all of the churches had not been out there physically but have helped in some way to back this revival. We didn’t plan it as a revival. I just started and people, of course, have been coming from everywhere to that street because we set up a memorial there. People are paying their respects. People are coming and just looking at some of the artwork that’s there in honor of George Floyd. Others were coming out with their music and dancing or just trying to celebrate and express how much they loved George and how much they want to see our community come together. During that, there’s a church on the corner right there and that church, I believe his name is Pastor Curtis. The Pastor there really wanted it to be a set up where ministries can come

and minister to the people. Right there on the street, they built a platform and brought in sound systems. There were people that offered to help bring in sound systems. Interviewer: Amen! Apostle Joshua Giles: And so every day it’s been new companies saying we’ll help with this and we’ll bring whatever you need. We just started preaching there and ministering there. The video that you saw, that was after days of ministering, so many people coming to Christ, so many healings that have taken place, and the prophetic ministry that’s been

Our church, pulled out a budget from nowhere, and started buying up thousands of dollars worth of food from the suburb areas. We brought it into ground zero where the stores were burned and set up table after table of food, any kind of food.

going on when God brought me to that site preaching to people. One of the words that He gave me to say was from that day forward, that the revival would no longer be relegated to this city only but it will now begin to spread throughout the country and the world. I mean just so many accurate words of knowledge, prophecy, ministering to random people there on the streets, some that have never experienced prophetic ministry before, it’s been amazing to see. It’s no longer stuck in our four walls. It’s now out there, so the video that you saw was several videos of baptisms happening spontaneously. As a matter of fact, the day of those specific videos, I wasn’t even set to preach that day. There were others singing and ministering. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me go and stand by the baptismal pool because we had brought out a portable pool there, and Holy Spirit said to me, “Go stand by the pool and just worship.” So I went over and stood in front of the pool. I had no idea that I would be conducting baptisms so that was all spontaneous. I just started worshiping and I’d say after about somewhere between 30 minutes of standing there worshiping, one of the people in the audience got saved and said they wanted to be baptized. They brought

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

them over to the pool and one of the organizers looked at me and said, “Apostle, can you come help?” And so I said, “Sure! I’m standing here anyway.” I turned and what you guys see in those videos happened so spontaneously where there were hundreds and hundreds of people out there. The crowds just formed around the baptismal pool and so many people were recording and others were crying and worshiping God. We began baptizing and we baptized that first person. She got in and said she was battling so many demons. When she went into the water and came out, she said that she was free. Her testimony was so powerful and then after that, another person got saved and they want to be baptized. Then another person and so we just saw it spiral into a domino effect of people saying, “Hey, now I want that.” So it turned into this spontaneous baptizing service that I thought was so powerful and the Spirit of God came in and just swept through that street. I even had somebody who was a journalist or part of the press, with a press pass and everything, come over to me with tears in their eyes and they said, “I want to be baptized.” I was just ministering to them and blown away myself by this experience and they said, “I’ve been fighting it because I want to

be unbiased as a journalist but I know that God’s been drawing me.” I was able to minister to them and then there were Muslims standing on the street there. They were curious as to what was going on and they stood very close to me. For many of the Muslims here, I look like some of them. Interviewer: Wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: They were looking like, “What’s going on? Why is he baptizing people?” And they came up and one of them started mocking what was going on but the Spirit of God was so heavy on me and in me and on everybody that was there that was open to him. I just started prophesying to them and the Lord was giving me words concerning their families and what was going on. One of the words was God gave me a vision of one of the guy’s uncle and I started describing to him how his uncle looks and his age. The Lord says, “He has a heart condition and somethings going on with his heart. God wants to heal his heart.” At first, you can tell he was like, “Ok... What’s going on?” And then he started saying, “ How did you know this? How do you know this?” And I said this comes from God and I said, “Jesus Christ has given me this message for your family to show how much He loves you and how much he cares about you.”

I asked, “Is it right? What’s going on with your uncle?” And he said, “Yea, he had a heart attack and he has a heart condition.” I watched him, and you can see tears in their eyes. I watched Muslims and people of all different faiths receive something from God and got saved instantly. For others, it was seeds planted that we know God’s going to send people to water. We’re going to see an influx coming to the kingdom. I just really think, Kimberly, this is the beginning of a major worldwide revival not only in America but throughout the nations. This is the next awakening that we’re beginning to see right now. Interviewer: Yes, Amen! You said something so powerful. How many people have you seen baptized and filled so far from this time you have been in that area? Apostle Joshua Giles: I don’t know the exact number but what I have heard and seen is that it’s been dozens and dozens of people. I know that there have been others out there baptizing as well and so we’ve seen dozens and dozens of people get baptized, saved, and healed. There were other churches out there ministering as well because this revival doesn’t have one face. There are some of us that God has put on the front line and I’m one of them to help lead it and push it in but there are

33

so many believers coming together. They gave me a report that 52 children got saved right out there on the street. Interviewer: Thank you, God. Apostle Joshua Giles: So it’s been a move of God and God gets all the glory. (Laughs) Interviewer: Yes! And I’m happy you brought up the nameless, faceless revival. I heard you say that on your prophetic forecast that you did. I know you said the reason is that a lot of revivals we’ve had fail because it was one man ,so can you please go into that? Apostle Joshua Giles: Yea, you know, I studied revivals history and church history to see how things happened all the way back from Azusa Street, which was so powerful, to some of the more recent ones that we’ve heard of, like the Brownsville revival in Florida in the ‘90s. I’ve seen and studied some of those things and what I noticed, and this is something that God began to say to me, is some of these revivals in the past, really most of them in the past, have been centered around one man or one ministry. God was saying that is not His model for the revival that we are witnessing right now and those that we’re about to see. God is shifting that over

and I mean when you study some of that history you find that going back to the Brownsville revival, you have one man. He was anointed but he preached that revival for months and months every single day. That went on for years. There was no team of people coming in. Other people were helping, but as far as preaching each night, it was just him. We’re seeing that change where this is the movement of the believers not about people that have titles. God will use anybody that’s willing and available and ready and open. Interviewer: Yes! Apostle Joshua Giles: If you are filled with the Spirit, God is like, “I want to use you.” That’s what we’re seeing happen here even in this revival in Minneapolis. There are so many people ministering throughout the streets, so many different believers that are going and ministering to people, evangelizing, prophesying over people, and giving accurate words of knowledge. Again it is not just one person. It’s a collective of us and like with any revival, you will see some people trying to fight to get their name in the headline or get their face upfront. We’ve seen some of those things but it’s a God thing so He’s not even going to allow that to be the focus because God needs to get the glory. Interviewer: Amen.

God began to say to me, is some of these revivals in the past, really most of them in the past, have been centered around one man or one ministry. God was saying that is not His model for the revival that we are witnessing right now and those that we’re about to see.

Apostle Joshua Giles: I believe the revival we’re seeing now and what’s going to go throughout the world is going to be so different where no man can take the credit. You won’t be able to look back at this and say, “Oh, I knew it was this one person who did this,” or, “That revival that this one person started.” No, this is a revival that the Holy Spirit started and believers that were willing and available caught ahold of it and allowed the Holy Spirit to move. Interviewer: Amen, Amen! That’s so awesome. I want to take you back to the prophecy you gave about the Covid-19, you know, and

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

all this thing that’s going on. I think you said in 2015 that somebody reminded you or they recorded the word so what’s going on with this pandemic? Are we still in a pandemic because people are walking around here like nothing? (Laughs) Should we social distance? Should we wear masks? Like what’s up with the pandemic? Apostle Joshua Giles: (laughs) Well I will tell you this: I definitely do not have all the answers. I only know the parts that the Lord has shown me, that the Holy Spirit has shown me. So back in 2015 some of these recordings we put out on our page and others we’re going to put out there to make available for people to see. Some of them I did not release initially because of the controversial nature of it. We knew it would be controversial. The hundreds of people that were there listening in that recordings have had these recordings and they’ve shared them with others, which is fine, but that recording back in 2015 we were doing what I call a prophetic Sunday. I wanted to do what the Holy Spirit led me to do which was a Sunday where it was nothing but focusing on what is the heart and mind of God for our country, for the nation, for what’s coming. At that time, I believe it was November 2015, the Lord spoke to me about a

virus that was coming. I saw it and described it. I could see the vision of this virus coming and the doctors that were there, and in that prophetic word, God was saying to me that this virus was coming and it’s going to be deadly. I can hear in the vision the doctors were saying at first, “We don’t know if it’s the flu or if it’s something else. What is this?” Interviewer: Wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: And then the Holy Spirit said to me it’s the new strand that we have never seen. And in that prophecy - there are others who have heard this word, I sent it to some of my colleagues when I did the interview with Ryan LeStrange; he got this recording as well - the Lord said to me, “This virus will mimic other diseases. It will mimic other viruses and it will be so confusing that doctors wouldn’t know what it was.” When I saw and heard that, that’s something that I’ve never seen. It wasn’t like we’ve never seen other virus that mimics other virus or other diseases. When this started happening, initially, the reports came in where the doctors were saying that it’s looking like this particular thing or it’s mimicking heart attacks. People are coming in thinking that they’re having a heart attack but it’s not a heart attack. It’s really Covid-19.

When I started hearing that and people who were in those services, of course, started coming, emailing, calling, and writing to me saying, “This was the prophecy that you gave.” At that time in 2015, the COVID that was so far in advance, the Lord told us then to pray and cover the people. He said cover everybody’s immune system and so I covered through prayer in that service everybody’s immune system. Then God had given me specific details and instructions in those recordings as well and my church has been aware of this since then but the Lord told me to tell the people to build up their immune systems. If they could exercise and eat right, and if they could get off as many medications as they can because I saw a shortage that was going to hit the medication. Interviewer: Wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: And so my church from back then have quoted these things back to me because I was drilling it so hard because of the urgency that I felt in the Spirit about it. That was the initial word about the virus back then. Time passed and we didn’t see anything happen and I had shared with our church I said you know God had given us this in advance so just because it hasn’t happened doesn’t mean it’s not coming and so we prayed.

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

Of course, people tend to forget and then once they see it, they come up in the news, they’re like, “Oh my god! This is it.” Like I said, we had people in the ministry that recorded that stuff and they sent me the recording again when the pandemic came up. So since that time, the Lord’s spoken to me other details about what’s going on and some months ago, maybe in March, the Lord said when we get to the month of June, we will begin to see things turn. Interviewer: Amen. Apostle Joshua Giles: He told me that and he also said that we needed to pray against a resurgence of this and this was back in March when I had that initial word about June would be a turning point month and that we really need to pray and intercede. We saw at the beginning of June the deaths go down. I think June 4th was the first time since March that New York had zero deaths from the virus. Interviewer: Amen! Apostle Joshua Giles: First time since March, so I’m just praising God saying, “Ok God that’s your prophecy That’s what you said.” Now at the same time, we’re seeing the number of cases go up and so that’s kind of the contradicting thing. It’s like, “Ok, we’re seeing

things turn. It’s not as many deaths,” and I think that’s something that we should really just praise God about because we’re not seeing as many deaths as we were. At the same time, we are hearing that more people are getting the virus but what I think that we should do at this point is still stay vigilant, prepare, cover ourselves in prayer and use wisdom when we are out but at the same time to praise God that the death rate has dropped. So I think the news media has everybody focused on how many people have the virus. Just a couple months ago, we were watching a thousand people a day die in New York alone, not to mention three and five hundred deaths in some of these other states per day. To be down now to where we have been, it really is a turning point but at the same time, the Lord said to me in those prophecies that we needed to pray against a resurgence that would try to hit at the second half of the year and so that’s what my church has been doing and what our intercessors have been doing: praying against that. Interviewer: Amen! And you brought out a lot of good points. I know you’re in entrepreneurship or I heard you prophesy this is the time for believers to buy property and real estate. I’m like, “Ok, I receive that God!” I want to

ask you how do you balance the ministry and entrepreneurship? Apostle Joshua Giles: (Laughs) To be honest, it is challenging and you know many of us, especially those of us that are called to the prophetic with ideas and business, we are not just in one lane. We, as believers, are multi-dimensional. We have more than one facet to who we are. I think the church world is becoming more and more aware of that. I think some years ago it was like, “Oh you’re an Evangelist then that’s all you can do: evangelize.” Now we’re at the point where you can be a doctor and be an Evangelist and own your own clothing company if you wanted to, all at the same time. It really takes the grace of God to be able to do it and it takes a life of

He got this recording as well - the Lord said to me, “This virus will mimic other diseases. It will mimic other viruses and it will be so confusing that doctors wouldn’t know what it was.”

REJOICE ESSENTIAL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020

discipline. One thing that I learned early on was the need for discipline in my life because it’s the only way that I’d be able to accomplish the things that I need to accomplish. That discipline deals with having a good work ethic, getting up early, and going to bed late. This is something again that my spiritual father told me. He said, “Get up early go to bed late.” That stuck with me and I said I’m going to utilize every day, especially while you are young and you have the strength and energy to do it. I just believe in working hard so I’ve only been able to balance due to God’s grace, number one. Then number two, having a discipline and a work ethic and so for me, if I’m not in prayer, fasting, and ministering, I am doing the entrepreneurship stuff that God has given me to do and I’m working hard in real estate. I flip houses and I’ve been buying and flipping even during the pandemic. I haven’t stopped because it’s just something that drives me. It’s just a passion that I have and it’s also an outlet for me at the same time because, if all you do 24/7 is ministering, counseling people, praying for people, casting out devils, and doing this stuff, you won’t have the balance that you need. It really gives me balance to go into the world of real es-

tate and business and work on some of those things. It keeps me leveled so that when I do go back into doing ministry stuff, I’m able to focus and come back refreshed and I’m not burned out. So many people start young in ministry. I have friends who started young in ministry like I have and they fizzled out by the time they hit year number ten or number twenty and by the grace of God I have not and my prayer is that the Lord will keep me in that place. Interviewer: Yes. That’s a good prayer point. I know you have a book. Can you tell us about that book? Apostle Joshua Giles: During this season God just dealt with me about a new breed of prophets that are rising up. It’s called The Rise of the Micah Prophets. Interviewer: Amen! I like that. Apostle Joshua Giles: (Laughs) If you look in scripture and look at the life of Micah, you know Micah was that prophet that was called on by the King because all of the other prophets had told him what he wanted to hear. They asked, “Are there any other prophets out there,” and they said, “Well, there’s one by the name of Micah but he never prophesies what we want to hear,” and they called Micah in 2 Kings. He came and began

to give the word of the Lord and he said, “You’re going to go into battle. King Ahab is going to go and he’s going to be killed.” And of course, the people didn’t like that and so God began to deal with me about Micah. He’s that kind of prophet that we need right now, not the kinds of prophets that are telling people just anything they want to hear. We need to know what’s really coming down the pipeline. We need to know what’s God doing in the earth and what’s God saying about where we are because I think the days of prophesying houses and cars are over. When we’re staring in the face of a pandemic, nobody needs to know how they’re going to get a car. You can fix your credit and get a car so when it comes to the real prophetic and hearing what God is saying for us now, we need this new breed of prophets to rise up and say, “I’ll tell you even if it’s not popular. I’ll say it even if it does not give me a platform. I’m going to speak what God is saying.” Interviewer: Amen. Apostle Joshua Giles: That’s the book that I’ve written and it’s for any believer that is called to the prophetic in any way, even if you’re not called to the office of the Prophet but you have the gift of prophecy, you’re drawn to that then, this

book is for you. Interviewer: Amen! How many books have you authored? Apostle Joshua Giles: I have written over ten books now. They use to be available on my old website but what I’ve done is taken all of them back and we’re now redoing them to go through traditional publishing. I wrote them and did my self-publishing years ago. I’ve written books on topics from prophetic dreams to books on prophetic training, to whatever it was at those times that God was giving me, Now we’re doing the relaunch of my ministry and my materials. You’ll see those that have followed my ministry for years that have those books, some of them still have them. One of my favorites is how to prophetically plan your year and it goes through the Hebrew calendar. In every month in the Hebrew calendar, when you study the Hebrew names of each month, the Lord put prophetic words for each month. That book details when you’re in May what does it say about May. What was God’s word in scripture about that month in Hebrew and so I loved those kinds of things because it’s things you don’t hear on a regular basis. Some of these books are going back through publishing and they’ll be released later on.

Interviewer: Amen! So you said something about the Hebrew, planning your year prophetically, and I was going to ask you what are some prayer points for the rest of 2020 that the church should be praying? Can you share? Apostle Joshua Giles: Number one: we need to pray that there’s not a resurgence of this virus in the second half of the year. There are many of us prophets that have been saying this well before the news reported it. We were saying we need to be cautious because I even saw where the enemy wanted it to hit worse. Number two: we really need to begin to focus on praying for the direction of our country and our nation. One of the words that the Lord gave me last year and then again at the beginning of this year was that this next election was going to be surrounded in just an unusual period. It was going to be strange. Last year I was prophesying this to my church and God said it was going to be a strange election that we will see in 2020. He said we need to begin to pray now for the direction of our country and for where we need to go. I saw an upheaval in government. I saw an upheaval even hit the supreme court as well. These words are out there in recording from over the past few months and even

some from years prior. That’s something that I really think now we need to pray concerning. We really, really need to cover our nation because we’re in a very volatile place right now. We’re in a very difficult spot in the nation. While there are division and infighting going on in the nation, there are vulnerabilities to outside entities. That’s another thing that the Lord had cautioned me to really begin to pray for. I saw, over the next four years, America engaging in some kind of a war. Interviewer: Wow! Apostle Joshua Giles: I saw the vision unfold so clearly in front of me and the Lord said to me, “Joshua, you need to prepare for the next four years.” And He told me some things to kind of get in place but I saw us going into this war and it was not good. It was not a good thing and so these are the things that I’m praying about now. I know some may not affect this year but we have reached the point in history that we have never been to before in our world where we are in a new normal and things are not ever going to go back to the exact way they were. I think the church has to wake up to realize that we are experiencing the acceleration of prophecy. Interviewer: Jesus! Apostle Joshua Giles: And

all prophecy is not something that gives you comfort, you know. Prophecy sometimes is a warning prophecy of what’s coming or of what’s happening. I think the church must wake up and be prepared because we will face even greater disasters and days ahead that are worse than what we have seen so far up to this point. We need to be prayerful and we need to be ready and that means that we must have a lifestyle of prayer and fellowship with the Holy Spirit because if we don’t have that connection to the Holy Spirit, we have noth-

ing. He’s the only one that can tell you, “I don’t want you to go down to this area today. Avoid that because somethings going to happen there.” He’s the only one that can tell you.

Interviewer: Amen! Thank you so much. I will definitely be praying for those things as well. This is the end of the interview and I thank you for your patience and endurance.

I know God just gave me a prophecy just a few months ago. I released it to my church and he said there’s about to be a major recall on the meat industry and we’re going to see back to back recalls. I told my church then. I said, “God said some of you He’s going to pull you off meat because you’re getting ready to see these recalls hit the news.” We’ve just seen the first one recently, with so many pounds of beef that are being recalled. So these things are not news to those that are in the prophetic community, at least the ones that I’m connected to. These words have been coming not just by me but by other prophets as well but many of these things I have seen or we have seen. We just need to be prepared and if we don’t rely on the Holy Spirit, we will be in a much worse state. I believe the Holy Spirit is going to be our lifeline in the days ahead. The bible says that the just shall live by faith.

Apostle Joshua Giles: Ok, well I enjoyed it. Thank you so much for your interest to have me on and to ask challenging and interesting questions. I enjoyed answering those questions and I look forward to when the publication is online. Thank you so much. I enjoyed it and hope to connect with you soon.

Interviewer: Amen! Apostle Joshua Giles: And so we are literally going to have to live by faith in everything that we do.

Interviewer: Yes! God bless you, Apostle. Have a good day. Apostle Joshua Giles: Bless you.
