Give your removalist as much notice as possible, allowing sufficient time to clean the property prior to handover. Have a garage sale to sell any old items from the property that you no longer need. Arrange hard-rubbish collection from the property is required. Please ensure this is done prior to settlement day. Remember to contact the Electoral Office and VicRoads to update your new postal address. Contact utilities to schedule disconnection of services at the old home, and have them arranged for your new property upon moving in. Contact your insurance agent and make relevant alterations to all policies. Visit the post office and obtain a redirection notice, fill it in and return it as soon as possible. Pack a survival kit for moving day, include tea, sugar, coffee, cups, snacks, toilet paper, toiletries, light bulbs, bin linets, cleaning materials etc. Ensure the house is clean and ready for the new home owner.
