Is now the best time to buy? With the rise of official interest rates, property prices have shown a slight decrease in the last 6 months. From the start of the pandemic in March 2020 to March 2022, prices increased nationally by 35.1%. From March to June this year, there has been a drop of 0.5%. Nationally, there has reportedly been less competition at auctions, resulting in lots of homeowners opting to choose a private sale or alternatively waiting to see market developments. As a result, lots of buyers, especially first home buyers, are now coming back into play. Many ‘took a break’ after constantly being outbid by the plentiful competition.
