CHICAGO 2011 EVENT PREVIEW
Exhibit Hall: Thursday, October 13 – Saturday, October 15 /// Conference: Wednesday, October 12 – Saturday, October 15 Lakeside Center at McCormick Place /// Chicago, IL USA
“The Remodeling Show is all about education. You learn from the best, you learn from the source, and you learn from each other. Nobody knows it all, but the conference instructors come close – together they must have 500 years of experience in the remodeling business. On the Expo floor, you’ll have a chance to talk not just with product sales reps but with product designers, people who understand job-site problems and can talk shop about practical solutions. Finally, for every business challenge you bring with you, there are ten contractors with companies just like yours who’ve already faced it and will be happy to share their experience with you.”
– Sal Alfano, Editorial Director, Remodeling Magazine
“Nowhere will you find more deck related products, tools, and information in one place. Add to this the unparalleled opportunities to network with your peers, and DeckExpo becomes the one must-attend event for deck builders.”

– Andy Engel, Editor, Professional Deck Builder

LIVE DECK COLLAPSE
Many Americans view adding a deck to their home as a simple, do-it-yourself project. However, since 2003, there have been thousands of reported injuries and more than 20 deaths as a result of deck collapse. To help raise awareness about the prevalence of deck collapse and promote code-compliant deck construction, Simpson Strong-Tie will stage multiple live deck collapses onsite. The demonstration features two side-byside decks, each 8 ft wide by 6 ft deep and 7 ft tall. Although the decks look similar, one is safe and the other is not.
CONFERENCE PROGRAM
The 2011 conference program features intensive training in core business practices every contractor must possess plus a huge number of breakout classes to fill the gaps in your learning needs. Classes will be more interactive and provide the audience more peer-to-peer networking. 2011 conference highlights include:
NEW! Two All-Day Pre-Show Boot Camps NEW! Self-Assessment to Guide Your Learning NEW! After-the-Conference Day Assembly: Share Your “A-Ha!” Moments NEW! Mentor Program

WHAT YOUR PEERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE SHOW: “Finally the market seems to be moving forward, choosing to spend on their homes for more than maintenance and repairs. Chicago, at the Remodeling Show, is where you’ll get the advice, tools, products and inspiration to get more than your share of the customers and profits. I’ve never missed a show nor have I failed to gain or hone an edge in my market each year.” – Alan Hanbury, Jr., CGR, CAPS, GMR, CGP House of Hanbury Builders, Inc., Newington, CT
“I’ve attended the Remodeling Show for the past three years and without question it has become a ‘must attend’ event for me. The content and networking opportunities give you access to some of the sharpest minds in our industry. Every year I have walked away with new information, new products, and new relationships that have helped me improve and grow my business.” – Christopher Wright, CR WrightWorks, LLC, Indianapolis, IN
“I have been attending the Remodeling Show since the mid 1990’s for two main reasons: the health and well being of my remodeling company and my ability to discuss issues and concerns I have with industry experts and fellow remodelers from all areas of the country. Another key reason for attending is to see trends that encompass economic forecasts, products, and business systems.” – William L. Shaw Jr., CGR, GMB, CAPS, CGP William Shaw & Associates, Inc.
