When individuals purchase their Eucharist Matters license, they are automatically subscribed to Catholic HÔM for one year. This website is filled with great content to support your Catholic home and turn it into a Household On Mission. Videos, articles and a constantly updated library of content is theirs!

You will also receive access to The Eucharist: Encountering Jesus, a faithsharing resource perfect for personal reflection or small-group sharing. We encourage staff to use this resource with parents to strengthen their connection to the parish and deepen the bonds of community among participants.

Every spring our churches are filled with young people, in beautiful suits and dresses, approaching the altar of the Lord for the first time. Catechetical leaders diligently prepare them for their First Eucharist and the joyous celebration it brings.

For many Catholics, that initial teaching is the sum total of their knowledge of the Eucharist. We know there is so much more than that early learning, but how do we expand that knowledge so parents can make the Eucharist an integral part of a spirituality that lives in the home?

RENEW International has teamed up with Dr. Greg and Lisa Popcak of CatholicCounselors.com and The Peyton Family Institute for Domestic Church Life to bring you Eucharist Matters. This online, video-based series helps parents deepen their knowledge of the Eucharist and its central role in our faith, and learn how they can turn their home into a Household on Mission, that supports and fosters the spiritual growth of their families.

How does it work?

For parents…

….There are six HOM video modules. These downto-earth, engaging videos with Greg and Lisa build understanding of what domestic church means and how home life supports children approaching first Eucharist. They expand parental understanding of the sacrament of the Eucharist and help families live out their faith in real and practical ways.

Research has shown that people are more likely to stay in the church when they see it as the source of warmth in the home. Dr. Greg and Lisa Popcak bring the vision of such a home to life in a way that is both inspiring and concrete.

For staff…

…There is an online dashboard which contains information about all of the participants for their parish. Staff can see which parents have completed the program, send automated emails to families on the anniversary of the child’s first communion, and see all of the data associated with their parish in one place.

With today’s busy lifestyle, gathering all of the parents of a First Eucharist class at one time to teach them about the sacrament and their role in fostering their child’s continued participation in the sacrament is next to impossible. With Eucharist Matters, parents can complete the program on their own time and at their own pace. This frees staff to use the resource included for in-person gatherings for deepening connections among parents and fostering a sense of community.
