DO’S & DON’TS 1. DO bring along people you trust (and who will tell you the truth). But don’t bring too many opinionated people with you - they will only add to the confusion. Remember this is about you and how you feel and look. You want balanced opinions, not an audience of hecklers. 2. DO have an idea of what you want but don’t just focus on this style. You will almost certainly end up with a gown that is totally different to what you originally expected. Caroline will help you find the style that suits not just your body shape, but also one that will match your personality and also the wedding setting. 3. DON’T rule anything out until after you have tried it on. You’ll never know how they’ll fit if you don’t take them off the hanger. 4. DO take photographs during the consultation but DON’T rely solely on them. If you’re in any doubt, come back for a second or even third try. Remember that a photograph is only a 2D image. 5. DO pick the right underwear. There are many varieties of body-shaping products that will perfect your silhouette no matter how slinky the gown. 6. D ON’T be afraid to add accessories during your appointment. They can change the look of everything! A simple belt can give the gown the touch of bling you may be craving and accentuate your waist perfectly. 7. DO be prepared to be emotionally challenged, especially during your first appointment. 8. DON’T buy a dress if you can’t see yourself walking down the aisle in it. 9. DON’T be afraid to speak your mind during the consultation. You will make Caroline’s job easier by being truthful about what you want or perhaps what you don’t want. 10. DON’T be tempted to buy a gown online. It may look like a bargain and it may look beautiful on a model on a web page, but what you see in the image may not be what actually arrives on your doorstep. The quality of fabric and manufacturing may well be reflected in the bargain price. 11. DO create a Pinterest board of the styles that you would like to try. Share it with Caroline so that she can have a head start in helping find the gown of your dreams. 12. DON’T be pressured into buying your gown on your first appointment in any boutique. Always sleep on it. We so often have brides to be visiting us having made a rash decision and regretting that spur of the moment choice. 13. DO come in with an open mind and heart. Caroline has a range of gowns to suit all shapes, sizes and budgets. 14. DON’T forget that Caroline will be with you throughout your journey to the altar!
