The Virginia-Highland master plan was approved by resident vote at a recent meeting of NPU-F. The final tally was 72 votes for and 5 votes against. Adopted unanimously by the Virginia-Highland Civic Association Board of Directors in April, the plan is now being reviewed by the Atlanta City Council Community Development Committee and will then go on to the full council for adoption and inclusion in the City of Atlanta Comprehensive Development Plan. The master plan provides a strategic vision in key areas like mobility, transportation, open space, recreation, safety, environmental issues, urban design, historic resources, public services, economic development and education. The Georgia chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) presented the Design Excellence Award to GraysonHarris Interiors + Design for the firm’s work on the model unit at The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta . The design firm received the Gold Award for “Residential – Residence Under 3,500 Square Feet.” The project will be entered in the national contest later this year.
