WHAT MAKES PLAYGROUND GRASS DIFFERENT?
Playground Grass™ is the only synthetic turf that features a proprietary, multilayered, premium backing system secured by micromechanical seaming technology. Built to perform. Built to last!
Layer 1
Our product backing begins with blades being tufted into a dual-layer woven material, which is then coated with a layer of polyurethane.
This is the basic product backing, and while most companies choose to stop after this coat, it is the foundational first step in our construction.
Layer 2
A frothed urethane is applied, fully encapsulating the back stitch of blades and locking them into place. This ensures the integrity of the blades remains intact while adding dimensional stability and a softer feel underfoot.
Layer 3
The final layer of our premium backing is a geotextile nonwoven laminate, comprised of recycled water bottles from Project Yellowstone.
This protects the first two layers from the elements, inhibits mold and mildew, and is key to our unique micromechanical seaming system.
Playground Grass™ Ultra uses lightly textured blades with a nylon thatch zone to create a stable, dense, and safe product. The blades are fortified with AlphaSan® antimicrobial protection and our patented XStatic™ antistatic technology that is manufactured into the blades for a level of safety that is unmatched in the playground surfacing industry. We play it safe with our artificial grass. We don’t settle for minimums. Yes, Playground Grass™ has the recommended ASTM and IPEMA certifications, but we also go above and beyond industry standards. Playground Grass consistently achieves high safety ratings over time—even after heavy use.
ForeverLawn® developed the first playgroundspecific safety system back in 2004. It achieved a 13-foot fall safe rating even though at the time 90% of playgrounds required a critical fall height up to eight feet.
