Empowerment and resilience are a product of solo traveling Many people would consider travelling and taking trips with people because they think that they would not enjoy alone or that the solo trip can get dangerous. However, have you ever thought of taking a trip alone? When you do actually travel alone, you will realize that both these assumptions are actually false. Solo traveling will reward you with one of the most exhilarating experiences of your life. These experiences are at the same time very rewarding too as they will strengthen your life skills and teach you to fight some of the worst risks, which will help you succeed in life. Like other aspects of life, travelling teaches you to look at situations, analyzing risks and then predicting outcomes. Your failures and accomplishments will both contribute to your learning. Solo traveling teaches you the following life lessons:

1. Teaches you to face fears The most fearful aspects of solo traveling include worrying about safety and loneliness. A solo traveler fears going out of his/her comfort zone, whilst having no one they can trust. However, if you actually do travel alone, you will realize that all those concerns were actually invalid. The touring is exactly the same unless you are planning to go to Afghanistan.

2. Teaches problem solving When you travel solo, you are actually strengthening your problem solving skills. Missing a flight or getting lost in a strange street can be quite scary. However, getting out of that situation will teach you to deal with such situations. This would hence, help you assess problems faster and come up with better quality decisions in the future.

3. Boosts confidence Consider getting lost in a neighborhood where the natives speak a different language, while all you have is a map. You will be very happy to see your hostel after being lost for a couple hours. The discovery will also boost your confidence and you might not worry as much when you are in a similar condition next time. Hence, these bad experiences will actually teach you that setbacks are a part of life and nothing to be worried about.

4. Teaches Flexibility You always plan whenever visiting a new destination. However, the going will get rough and it will almost never go according to your plans. Hence, if your bus is late; unlike traveling in a company where you would pull your cards out and start to play with friends; while traveling solo, you might have to check other options that were never a part of the plan.

5. Strengthens Faith Faith is always a product of self-confidence. However, life and society will always suppress it. Unlike in a company, where you rely on your companions; when you are travelling alone, you have to rely on faith to pass obstacles and fear. Faith in yourself and in the higher power teaches you that you have much more potential than you would have ever imagined.
