Four must-go destinations in Eastern Europe Even though countries of the Western Europe are more developed and therefore, have always been the center of attraction for tourists. However, many destinations in the Eastern Europe are also packed with medieval architecture, culture and allure just as much as the destinations in Western Europe. Following are some places in the Eastern Europe that are a must-visit:

1. Bucharest, Romania Bucharest is the capital city of Romania. It is a dynamic modern city with amazing history. It was also nicknamed as “little Paris� in the early 1900s as Bucharest had those hip-cafes, tree lined boulevards and historic architecture from the medieval gothic and Romanesque times. The place is home to many tourists attractions. To be specific, the most vibrant landmark in the city is the huge Parliament Palace. Other highlights include the Roman Athenaeum, the National History Museum and the Bucharest University among others.

2. Sibiu, Romania You would obviously remember the homeland of the vampire Count Dracula, the famous mythical character that haunts Transylvania. Sibiu is another city located in Transylvania that is also culturally rich. It has a specific medieval charm that will have you instantly spellbound. The area is surrounded by beautiful and breathtaking landscapes and offers some of the most delicious food in Romania. Its cobblestone streets will make you feel as if you were back in the middle ages. Some of the most amazing things to experience in Sibiu include the Brukenthal Museum, the Council Tower and the Crama Sibiu Vechi restaurant.

3. Bratislava Slovakia Bratislava is truly a very charming city that stands as the capital of Slovakia. It is a tiny town packed with the medieval grandeur which can be seen from the majestic castle. The Bratislava Castle and the Slavin Memorial offer some of the best views of the city. If you’re visiting during Christmas, do remember to check out the traditional market located on the main square at the center of the city.

4. Nida, Lithuania Nida is officially a UNESCO world heritage site that is shared by both Lithuania and Russia. The relics of the yesteryear found in the area tell stories of a fishing based village. Currently, its bright boats on the harbor and the colorful wooden cottages enhance the beauty of the city. The city hosts white sand beaches with clear water. They are only a short hike away from the pine forest in Nida. You can find the Parnidis Dune just south of the village. It is the most impressive and massive dune located in the area.
