3 activities that we mistake for happiness The meaning for happiness is different for different people. What will make a person happy is not necessarily going to make the other happy too. The concept is very relative; however, every person in the world seeks to get happiness in life. Some might want to succeed in career, others want to be good love partners and some would want to do social work for it. However, there are certain activities that most people mistake for providing happiness and these would only lead to giving you sorrow eventually:
1. A failed relationship Even though there is no such thing as a perfect relationship, but this is no excuse to keep stretching the continuous discomfort. Though people as individuals are mature and can make compromises, there are some couples that just don’t understand each other’s expressions and feelings. There are certain people that would just complement you better than the others. Hence, it is always best to quit a failing relationship and move on to the next person.
2. Updated electronics This is a trend that has always been there since the beginning of money. Even though the electronics part has just sprung up, people have always wanted to possess the in-fashion materials. Even though they might give you a very temporary sense of happiness, their joy is going to fade away really soon. People around you will only rejoice it the day that you had bought it and then everything will be indifferent; and soon you’ll start to feel that you should have not spent the extra money in the first place.
3. Too much TV Television is something very controversial. Even though there are a million programs on the TV that are very beneficial for your knowledge, motivation, inspiration and what-not. But there are times when we would mindlessly flip through channels or just stick to watching some random program for no reason. In such a case, you are only wasting valuable time; you are making yourself lethargic on the couch wasting good body energy in front of the TV. In addition, we at times rely a bit too much on the TV programs and movies to teach us about earthly matters; this prevents us from doing other jobs around us, i.e. exercising or working on some other productive skill. Hence, if you ever find yourself thinking of lying on the couch and doing nothing; try to think of what you are going to watch and if the program will evoke any emotions. If it will, you are probably going to relieve much stress and the show will be overall productive for you. Otherwise, think of something different.
