to spread beyond the locality to ensure effective results. The chart to the right (taken from the Department for Transport Commuting and Business Travel Factsheet April 2011) als by expanding the network of people that are aware demonstrates how London commuters travel differently from most other regions, most likely due to the volume of commuters attempting to travel around the city. Public transport methods including rail, bus and other rail (likely referring to the London Underground) are much more popular forms of commuter transport.

(Referring to diagram left) New Cross sits on one of the major routes into central London, and New Cross Road connects a significant proportion of South-East London to the centre. As a result, the road is highly populated with private vehicle and bus users on a regular commute. This could provide a significant segment of the expanse of awareness if these commuters are communicated with on their voyage through New Cross Major Roads

VENTURA REFURBISHMENT Harding Retail P&O Ventura Cruise Ship
Image created using Sketchup, Layout and Photoshop 12
A refurbishment of retail areas on P&O’s Ventura cruise ship, new general arrangements, custom furniture, lighting and customer routes were designed to improve on existing shops and introduce a new marketing strategy for Harding Retail.
A relatively low budget made this project challenging, reusing aspects of existing infrastructure meant more focus could be given to areas that needed more design attention and investment. 13

CHANEL UNIT REFURBISHMENT Harding Retail P&O Arcadia Cruise Ship
Diagrams created using Sketchup
14
A refurbishment of an existing unit built by Chanel on the P&O Arcadia. The merchandise unit needed work to make good much of the wear and tear, and to create a unit that is ready to change to alternative brands.
Working with Chanel meant that the unit needed to continue representing their brand, but in the event that the branding changed, the unit would not continue to be associated with Chanel. 15
