SUP NATURE TOUR

Join us as we explore Lake Audubon and learn about local wildlife.

Come paddle across the lake in search of our animal neighbors. Frequent sightings include: Great Blue and Green Herons, Snapping and Basking turtles, Northern Watersnakes, various fish and frogs.

How many will you spot? All equipment provided, but please bring appropriate clothing (it might get wet), sunglasses, sunscreen, towel and change of clothes.

Sunrise SUP

Enjoy a peaceful morning paddle on Lake Audubon taking in the morning glow. What better way to wind down from the work week than to spend a morning in the tranquility of nature? No paddling experience required. All equipment provided, but please bring appropriate clothing (it might get wet), sunglasses, sunscreen, towel and change of clothes.

Sunset SUP

Enjoy a relaxing evening on Lake Audubon taking in the setting sun. What better way to wind down from the work week than to spend an evening in the tranquility of nature? Yappy Hour

Ever wanted to take your pooch out on the lake? Join us for a morning of paddle and play with your pup. All equipment provided, but please bring appropriate clothing (it might get wet), sunglasses, sunscreen, towel and change of clothes. Small to medium sized dogs (combined weight of around 200 lbs.) Prior experience encouraged although not required.

Just Keep Swimming

Reston Swim Team Association (RSTA) Summer swim league for youth. All summer practices are held at RA pools.

Reston Masters Swim Team (RMST)

Year-round adult swim program with expert coaching in technique and conditioning for fitness, triathlon, and competitive swimmers. Outdoor summer practices at RA pools during the summer months. Indoor practice at Reston Community Center during the rest of the year.

Lifejackets are required for all passengers. No pets, only service animals allowed. Each rental party must have one adult (parent or guardian), 18+, to complete group waiver. Any passenger under 16 years of age must be in a boat with a supervisor (parent or guardian) aged 18 or older.

Current or no more than 30 days expired lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross

Demonstrate swimming skills consistent with the American Red Cross Level 4 proficiency in front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke and butterfly. Students must also have the ability to maintain a position on their back for 1 minute in deep water and tread water for 1 minute.

POOL OPERATOR’S LICENSE

Reston Association is proud to offer a Fairfax County-approved Operator Course. This self-study course is open book, and you are permitted one hour to complete the exam. A score of 80% must be achieved to pass the exam.
