FROM THE HEART

God Is Faithful!

Pastor Dennis L. Martin, Sr.

There are so many promises made in the world today and many times the promises are not realistic from the start. As I was thinking about this the word of the Lord came to mind where it says in (Heb 10:23 KJV) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised). He is faithful that promised. Now we know when it says "he", it is referring to GOD, who is faithful that promised. I am glad that whatever he has promised he is faithful and able to bring it to pass. That is the hope we have in the world today. How can we be so sure he is faithful with what he has promised to his people? Because the Bible tells us that when it comes to God there is nothing to hard for Him (Jer 32:17 KJV) Ah Lord GOD! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee. We must believe that there is nothing to hard for God; our God can do anything no matter how hard it may seem. The question in (Jer 32:27 KJV) Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? The Lord himself asked this question, "Is there any thing to hard for me?" The answer to the question is there is "No Thing" to hard for the Lord. In this New Year of 2011, we must believe that God is faithful that promised and he is a keeper of his word. We must believe what his word tells us. (Isa 55:11 KJV) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. No matter what you are facing, remember that his word will not come back empty. It may seem like it is taking forever, but keep saying "he is faithful that promised". Pastor Martin, how can you be so sure that is God is faithful? I am sure because of his word in (Num 23:19 KJV) God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? When I read this passage, "God is not a man he should lie", I am encouraged to keep believing in his promises. But it gets even better when I read in (Heb 6:17-18 KJV) Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: {18} That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us... I can say it with assurance and with confidence that GOD IS FAITHFUL!

I feel like giving up

Nothing is going right for me.

I don’t think the Lord loves me.

Can God really heal me? I don’t have much faith right now

What Are You Going

To Do About I t? I(II Kings chapter 7:3-4) And there were 4 leprous men at the entering of the gate: and they said to one another, Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we shall sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall into the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live: and if they kill us, we shall but die. Notice verse 3. Why sit we here until we die? (I Samuel 14:6) And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his Armour, Come and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us, but there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few. I want to focus on verse 6, it may be that the Lord will work for us, but there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few. They said again, Why sit ye here and die? What are you going to do about it? I hear you talking and complaining, but What are you going to do about it? I hear all the noise you or making, but What are you going to do about it? You’ve explained the whole thing to me already, but What are you going to do about it? Did you know that one of the greatest things that hinder the people of God is not always what we say it is? We give credit to the devil for being our greatest hindrance. As a matter of fact the greatest hindrance is sitting in the same seat you are sitting in, wearing the same clothes you are wearing, and actually has the same name; first and last and lives at your address. Point at yourself and say I am my greatest hindrance. You say the devil is to blame but you and your procrastination is the hindrance. We as people like to talk about what we are going to do. We start talking

6

about what we are going to do in January and continue talking about it until October. We explain it to everybody in every kind of way and never do anything about it. A whole year will come and go, and we will still continue talking about the same thing. We need to understand that when we talk we are really trying to convince ourselves, because if you really believed what you were talking about you would take a step towards doing it.

1860 he was Elected the President of the United States of America. In other words he was getting up everyday saying, how can I do it again? They beat me the last time but I’m getting myself ready for the next fight. I’m going to try one more time. I feel some warriors here now. I feel that somebody is ready to do something about it right now. It’s time for you to recognize the conqueror in you! It’s time to get those things done now!

The reason we must focus and act is because you never know, what God is going to do for you. God has not And the Lord told me to ask you the question: given you the spirit of fear, but HE’S given you power, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? love and a sound mind and HE wants yo to get up and tell yourself FEAR IS NOT GOING TO BLOCK Tape #01-729 ME. God can do it for you, but if you continue sitting in the house HE will never do it. You can’t spend your time surfing the internet, you need to get up, leave the computer and tell yourself I’m going to get what I want and if I fail Monday, I’ll be back Tuesday. If I fail Tuesday, I’ll be back Wednesday, and if I fail Wednesday, I’ll be back Thursday. If I fail Thursday, I’ll be back Friday, because it just might be that the Lord will work for me on Friday! I’m going to believe that God is able. I don’t care what it is, if you try it again, I just believe in my spirit, that this time you’re going to make it HALLELUJAH! These men said if we stay here we will die anyway. They said we might as well get up. A good example of this concept is President Abraham Lincoln. He failed many times, but he kept on trying. It is stated that in 1831 he failed in business; In 1832 he was defeated in the legislature; 1833 again he failed in business; 1834 he was elected to the legislature; 1835 his sweetheart died; 1836 he had a nervous breakdown; 1838 he was defeated for speaker of the house; 1840 he was defeated for the elector; 1843 he was defeated for congress; 1846 he was elected to congress; 1848 he was defeated for congress again; 1855 he was defeated for the senate; 1856 he was defeated for vice president; 1858 he was defeated for the senate again; 7

church she was a member of. But God made her miserable until she had to leave. She said she didn’t know what to do or where to go.

O R

That’s when the LORD spoke to me and said “do you remember how you felt when they gave you the surprise party, when you asked; what are you all doing? What’s going on? Why are you all doing this to me?” The NO-CONTROL feeling, this is where I want you…. that feeling of I have NO-CONTROL, stepping out on faith, not knowing what’s going to happen, God I’m following YOU is where I want you! It is not your job to figure out where I’m going with things. It is not your job to try and figure out MY plans. I’m going to take care of MY part. You just obey ME and do what I told you to do, because the CONTROL is in my hands. We’ve sat there and tried to play it all out in our little minds and it’s not working. Isaiah 55:8,9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Last year I was blessed to celebrate my fiftieth birthday. I have always wanted to be 50. I’ve always viewed age 50 as a person with grace, classy and a person who have finally arrived! Arrived at what? Arrived at not making as many mistakes, arrived at “you know better”, arrived at knowing who you are, arrived at knowing what you want, arrived at no more trying to impress whomever, take me the way I am! I don’t move as fast as I use to when I was age 19, but guess what I found out that patience is a virtue, many times my children would say: Mother will you hurry up? My response is: I’m not in a contest, I’m coming. Control means to exercise restraint or to have direction over, to hold in check. Of course for this occasion my immediate family and my church family surprised me with a party! One thing It’s easy to say we have faith when we’re in control of you must know: I like to surprise everyone but I don’t everything. When it’s time for us to put Proverbs 3:6 like to be surprised. When I realized what was going into action, we don’t want to do that with everything on, I really didn’t know what to feel. I had no-control not totally, some things we just let slip by (I got this over the situation all I knew is that “they got me”. I one, I don’t have to check with HIM on this one). Are found myself asking my daughter “What are you all you serious…give God the free range completely? doing to me?” I had NO-CONTROL! When you Noop! We want to give HIM directions. We want to have NO-CONTROL, you can’t steer things the way share with HIM how we see it all coming into place and you want them to go, it’s not your plan, you didn’t put show HIM our blueprint plans. God wants to remove this together. You had no say in the matter, NO- those little security blankets and pull us out of our comfort zone following HIS leadership as never before CONTROL! …I want you to do this, that and the other…. Do we Although I had NO-CONTROL, everything was ask why? Do we explain to HIM what we already have beautiful, the pearl gold balloons, the special guest in place? Or do we give up the CONTROL handles and singer, the bringing in my special caterer, down to the say YES to God! What’s more important: To have control and possibly mess things up or opt the control three tier Birthday Cake, cream, trimmed in gold! over to the One-and-Only God where you know I was listening at one of my favorite ministers this EVERYTHING will turn out in your favor! morning and she said that she had been a member of this church for several years and God had been dealing Let us always remember: 1 Corinthians 1:25 with her to leave and go out an begin the ministry HE Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; placed within her, she dragged her feet about doing it, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. because of all the security she had established at the 9

During the week, revival services were filled with anointed singing, dancing, and of course revelatory preaching of God’s word. In each service, the men and woman were blessed by inspiring speakers who brought messages of hope on topics that could be easily applied to daily living. Dr. Connie Williams opened the conference by explaining the prophetic importance of knowing what cycle the leaders of Holy Trinity were entering. She ministered a powerful word concerning the Third Day Anointing, which gave us to understand that this year (2010) would be a time of God restoring and resurrecting dreams. Dr. Williams emphasized the completing of a spiritual cycle for the church and that we are now in position for God to perform some specific milestones in the lives of those who have remained connected and faithful to the ministry. In an open forum, Mother Edith L. McGrew, Supervisor of Women for Central Georgia The Annual Woman’s Week Celebration is a time Jurisdiction, offered many pearls of wisdom to of excitement and improvement for the ladies of help women understand their place in the church, Holy Trinity. Under the direction of Co- Pastor in the home, and in the market place. while navigating the various challenges of living a bagged and tagged the evidence (death of a loved balanced, set apart life. one, the pain of divorce, memories of abuse, etc.). There were two other powerful preaching women who further impacted us. If you know District Missionary Leslie Graham and Evangelist Duranice Pace, you would simply say,” Amen”! These ladies stood flat-footed and told the truth in love and all who received these words of power can testify to the anointing that was present and felt during these services. Evangelist Pace prayed, preached, prophesied and sang too! Lord Jesus, nothing like having good ole-fashioned church and that’s one thing we definitely know how to have at Holy Trinity.

Then the case was made for us to rewrite our future by replacing the negative traits that defined us with the characteristics God gave us when we came under the blood. We learned that we have a new identity through Christ and HIS DNA/Traits are the standard by which we should be measuring ourselves and defining who we really are. Because of the finished work of the Cross, we have become a new creation and despite the Facts of the past….our Truth dictates that we are over-comers, we are victorious, we are healed, we are ALL that God’s word says we are….Royal, Chosen, Wonderfully Made, Blessed, The week was rounded off by a special Washed, Forgiven, Beloved…” empowerment workshop entitled, “Royal IndentiTea…I know who I am.” Combined with tea What a perfect way to end a week full of reflection and self examination. “Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” Psalms 107:8. This was the base scripture for the men of Holy Trinity during the annual Men’s Week 2010, and the praise was certainly in the building! The men of Holy Trinity used

fellowshipping with one another, spiritual growth, call of action concerning

and

responsibilities of men, and of course praise and worship. The week was kicked off on Saturday morning with a prayer breakfast. The brothers enjoyed wonderful food that provided nourishment both in the physical and spiritual forms. While divulging into the great selection of breakfast foods – including grits, bacon, eggs, sausages, biscuits, doughnuts, orange juice, coffee, etc. – the brothers enjoyed presentations from an inspirational rapper and saxophonist, a thought-provoking dialogue on the horrors of prison and the legal system, as well as soul-stirring speeches from Bishop Greg Fann and keynote speaker Bishop Romano White from Revolutionary Ministries International. There was much laughter and wisdom – both spiritual and social – that was spread throughout the brothers. Next on the list was the Sunday morning worship service. In the spirit of unity, the brothers were all adorned in our brand-new blue-and-white t-shirts which displayed the base scripture used for the weekend. The men of Holy Trinity coordinated the entire order of service – taking care of praise and worship, devotion, inspirational messages, worship through tithes and offerings, and the highlight of the morning (other than the Word of God, of course) an all-male choir! The men’s choir brought down the house with the soul-stirring selection “Praise Him” followed by the Lee Williams classic “He Laid His Hands On Me”. A Rhema Word from God was 12

delivered by none other than Holy Trinity’s very own Pastor Dennis L. Martin, Sr. Pastor Martin preached a message which reminded the brothers of their responsibilities as men, as well as encouraged the entire congregation of the great things God has in store for them. It truly permeated the congregation and was well appreciated by Holy Trinity.

The spirit of the occasion carried over into the Sunday evening worship service where our very own Pastor Martin kicked off the service with prayer and led the saints in praise and worship! The Word of God for the evening service was delivered to Holy Trinity by the very energetic Pastor Vincent Watson of New Christian Center Church. With a passionate and perceptive approach, Pastor Watson certainly drenched the congregation with instruction and ignited us with a spirit of praise! His delivery was certainly a magnificent way to close out the second night of the Men’s weekend. The brothers and saints of Holy Trinity returned on Tuesday evening to for the final worship service for Men’s weekend. The brothers were unified once more wearing the colors of blue and black. Pastor Martin again ushered the saints into worship beginning with prayer then followed by praise and worship. The service was then opened up for testimonials, allowing the brothers to voice aloud the deeds that our Lord had done for them. Holy Trinity was blessed that evening through song by the special guest choir Adoration led by Minister Otis Byrd, Jr. This invigorating group of young men and women pumped up the congregation with two great selections that certainly set the atmosphere for worship and the Word of God. The guest speaker for the service was Pastor Robert Smith, Jr. of Tabernacle of Hope Church of God in Christ. Pastor Smith gave us some old-time church! His singing of the old saints’ hymns as well as his delivery of the Word certainly put you in the mindset of worship with the saints of old! His message however was one that was very timely and relevant for all who were under the sound of his voice. Overall, the Men’s Weekend turned out to be a huge success. The brothers of Holy Trinity were surely celebrated as well as enlightened through the various presentations under the guise of the Holy Spirit. The men are to be commended for such a beautiful celebration of the Christ-centered man at Holy Trinity! Minister Brandon McKinney 13

YOUTH DAY

14

The youth at Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C. are certainly young men and women who utilize the vigor, strength and knowledge of their youth to display their love and faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and never is this more evident than in Holy Trinity’s annual Youth Day celebrations! For their celebration this past year, the youth employed the scripture I Timothy 4:12 – “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” At Holy Trinity, the youth are taught not to allow their ages to be a hindrance to the work of the Lord but rather use their youth in leadership roles to advance the Kingdom of God. Indeed some methods of the youth may seem somewhat unorthodox to the traditional saints of the Church; however the love and compassion that the youth has for Christ and the things of Christ is relatable to all, and is shown in the many works that is done by them. The youth of Holy Trinity show themselves as examples of the believers, being influential figures to those they encounter in their daily activities for the advancement of Christ. The Sunday morning worship service allotted to the youth helped showcase such works to their congregation. The order of worship was under the full control of the youth. Under a setting of a brick-wall pulpit and festive balloons throughout the sanctuary symbolized a block party being held at “HT”. The service kicked off with prayer and devotion led by our youth, then followed byartistic expression conducted by Holy Trinity’s Dance Ministry, which showcased some of the toddler members of Holy Trinity. Then there was a special musical guest named Men of Favor. This group of four young men – Minister Rodrick Johnson, Minister Tory Thurman, Minister Brandon McKinney, and Brother Joe Lewis – provided Holy Trinity with a few great selections that charged the atmosphere with energetic worship in preparation for the Word of God. The Rhema Word from the Lord was delivered to the saints by Elder Quincy Carswell, II of Covenant Ministries and I.M.P.A.C.T. Ministries in Decatur, Georgia. His inspiring message to the youth – as well as to the elders – was one that provided great instructions on how to conduct their daily lives in a Christ-centered manner, and it provided hope to those who use their lives to be examples for Christ in that it reminded the congregation of blessed rewards God has in store for them. The presence of the Lord was surely felt in the building in a way that cannot be denied by any! The festive and energetic charge from the service carried over into the Youth Day picnic that was held at beautiful Kenwood Park located in Fayetteville, Georgia. There the Holy Trinity family enjoyed themselves to some of great food, including but certainly not limited to pork ribs and some of the best chicken to ever come off a grill! The family also took pleasure in numerous games. Some of Holy Trinity’s competitive athletes got to show off their skills on basketball and volleyball courts, as well as got to participate in some impromptu water gun battles. The visionary leadership of Evangelist Anthalena Martin truly proved itself to be successful. The enjoyable and fulfilling Youth Day experience is surely one that is to be a lasting, remarkable memory at Holy Trinity.

15

Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C. holds an Annual First Family Appreciation service and October 2010 marked 13 years of celebrating the church’s leadership – Pastor Dennis Lamar Martin, Sr.; Co-Pastor June Pace Martin; and their children Evangelist Anthalena Patrice and Minister Dennis Lamar, Jr. One of the members, Brother William so eloquently put it “The Martin Family are like the comic . Every Martin has strip characters great powers in their own right.” The members of Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C. strove to show their love and appreciation to the First Family and from the family’s reaction and gratitude afterwards, I believe the congregation succeeded. October 17th, there were two wonderful services that truly lifted the spirits of the leadership as well as of all who attended. In honoring the First Family, the services began with uplifting Praise & Worship service that really set the atmosphere and tone for both services. During both services there were Words of Encouragement for the First Family. The family was honored with encouraging words from members during both services. All the speakers touched on how much they appreciated the sacrifice of time, money and family the Martin Family make on behalf of the church, which is not taken lightly. Also during both services, there were wonderful dance selections offered by Holy Trinity’s dance ministry – Ministry in Motion. The group comprising of most of the church’s youth and some of the young adults performed as a testament to the First Family vision of youth involvement in ministry. The words of gratitude and encouragement continued in the form of the two messages delivered by Pastor Liza Hickman during the first service and Superintendent Thomas L. Frazier. The First Family and the congregation were truly blessed by their words. Pastor Liza Hickman of Life Enrichment Ministries spoke to the House on the subject of “Next – Take it Up Higher.” This was not only a timely word but a necessary proclamation to all who heard that your now, no matter how good or bad, is not the final destination God has in store. It was an awesome word that this writer will not soon forget and the visible impact it had on the First Family, I believe they won’t either.

16

The First Family and the congregation were blessed for the second time by East Atlanta District leader, Superintendent Thomas L. Frazier This message did my, the First Family’s and the entire congregation’s soul well like words of wisdom from your father or grandfather. Superintendent Frazier left the family feeling encouraged to continue on for another thirteen years. Holy Trinity Team Captains all gave brief words and continued in the spirit of encouragement and gratitude towards the Martin Family. Finally, Brother Jerry summed up the occasion best “After seeing all of the behind the scenes work of those members who strove to make this year’s appreciation great, the day was a success and I just hope and pray as the church grows we can as a church continue to do strive to offer an even greater appreciation year after year.” First Family, Holy Trinity does love you and pray your strength in the Lord as you continue to serve as our leadership for many more years to come.

17

During our 2010 Divine Impact Revival, Holy Trinity was filled with phenomenal services that did not disappoint. The three services were an awesome move of God that lifted spirits, saved souls, comforted the heavy hearts, and encouraged all that attended. The three services hosted by Pastor Dennis L. Martin, Sr., were blessed by the deliverance of God’s word by none other than the internationally renowned, Pastor Maria Gardner. Pastor Gardner was born in St. Louis, Missouri and saved at the very young age of 10 years old. Originally a foster child, it was from the very beginning that Pastor Gardner realized that her life had Purpose. She is the pastor of the B.M. Oakley Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From her humble beginnings to her elevated status God really drove home her messages of “Keep Having Transformations,” “The Winner Has Already Been Picked and The Loser Will Never Be Me,” and “A Divine Strategy” she delivered to God’s people. December 15th, Pastor Gardner spoke to the house about the need to keep having transformations by allowing your weakness, infirmities and persecutions to transform you into a stronger you in Christ. Using 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, as her biblical launching pad, Pastor Gardner truly encouraged me and the rest of the congregations to keep the faith and believe that no matter what we might be going through right now, this is only sent to take the people to a higher and stronger level in God. December 16th, Pastor Gardner continued with her theme by teaching the subject “The Winner Has Already Been Picked and The Loser Will Never Be Me.” The message that we are designed to always come out on top was an on time word for me and the other listeners during these crazy economic times. If the three Hebrew boys can come out of that fiery furnace with no trace of 18

being in the fire (no discoloration of their skin, hair and clothes; no smell of smoke), we have no choice but to shout “Glory, the victory is mine thus sayeth the Lord.” As the, Anointed Pace Sister would say, “It is Already Done.” So I am claiming that thing and speaking it daily into my atmosphere that I will win because God designed me to never lose. December 17th, was the finale and it was just that. Pastor Gardner spoke on “God’s Divine Strategy.” This message was as if it was driving the final nail in the coffin to aid in the burial of our negative spirits such as doubt, depression, low self esteem, bitterness (I could go on for another two pages but I’ll stop). She illustrated the beginning of the story of Moses and how the pharaoh of Egypt did all he could to kill off the males of Israel because of fear of their impending uprising and departure. Pharaoh tried to kill the males off at birth, God canceled that. He tried to drown them, and God canceled that. And to show how much no man can not stop the will of God for your life, Pastor Gardner explained to the congregation that not only was Moses life spared but it was divinely set-up to be that way. First, he was spotted by pharaoh’s daughter, his own family who should have respected her father’s proclamation and killed baby Moses on sight but instead chose to claim him as her own son. Second, his mom was paid by pharaoh’s daughter to nurse and rear him (a job already assigned to her as his mother, but a check from the king sure comes in handy). Thirdly, he is then educated and reared in the very house by the very man who sought to destroy him. Now if that doesn’t make you want to take off and run I don’t what will. Our lives are strategically set-up by God to allow us to be the head and not the tail. Whatever it may look like now, it is all apart of His Divine Strategy for the good of them that love Him. Pastor Maria Gardner really proved that there is Purpose in every situation. Through perseverance, tenacity and faith in God, we, like Pastor Gardner, can be anointed vessels of God destined to succeed and not fail.

Pastor Martin steps up to the sacred podium and reminds us how good God has been in 2010. He lets us know that in spite of the ups and downs, the economy, and our own various circumstances, God has been faithful and has sustained us this far…we are still standing!

In order to walk into 2011 with confidence and authority, we were told emphatically to drop off dead weight, negative influences, unproductive habits and people that don’t have the right vision. Much like the spies who came back to Caleb (Numbers 13), all did not have a good report. We were challenged to determine our level of expectation for the coming year by having the right attitude about what we see, hear and believe. As Pastor Martin put it, “we have no power over our past, neither can we change it. Some things simply can not be carried over into our future and our attitude affects our entry.”

A fitting start to the coming end of a decade. You see, in order to fully appreciate where we are going, we must treasure have far we have come. As we contemplate the coming year with all of its hopes, opportunities, resolutions and uncertainties, the watch night message rings true: We must make a conscious decision to enter into the new year with the right attitude! As we approached the final moments leading into 2011, we praised our way into another year filled with Perhaps, everything didn’t go our way all the time, possibilities fully convinced …”that He who began a but as we transition into 2011, we have to recognize good work in you (us) will perfect it until the day of the importance of setting the stage for God to move Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6b on our behalf. Pastor Martin encouraged us not to be like the children of Israel who were delayed in We danced, shouted, hugged each other and smiled entering the promised land because of A) lamenting brightly…”Happy New Year! --- Happy New The alter call for souls did not go over the past, B) forgetting that God was the one Year!” who delivered them and C) murmuring and unanswered. New lives were added to the kingdom complaining about the new thing God was doing. and all rejoiced. But rather, we should prepare ourselves to tread upon some things and take the land.

Have you ever suffered from the following: “You are useless; You don’t have enough to accomplish that”; “You are ok, but so-in-so does it so much better; The economy is so bad right now are you sure you want to try that”; “You are not pretty enough”; You are not smart enough”; “That is the dumbest thing I ever heard”; “That just won’t work.” If you have ever experienced any of these symptoms, you have experienced what I like to call voices. These voices occur within the mind and without. They can appear in the form of enemies, player haters, nay-sayers, and even friends and love ones. But the real symptom stems from a place of fear, doubt and confusion. I will proceed to define and then share how you can remedy yourself of this affliction. Webster defines fear as the act of being afraid of, expecting with alarm. So when those voices say “no” or “you can’t” what they are really saying is that “I’m afraid” or “I’m expecting with alarm a negative outcome because it either happened to me or I heard it happened to someone else.” Webster defines doubt as having lack of confidence in or to consider unlikely. So when those voices say “no” or “you can’t,” they are really saying “I’m lack confidence in you and myself and most importantly God because something happened to me or I heard of something happening.” They are also saying “I don’t believe this can happen for you or me and that I don’t believe God can really do it because it wasn’t done for me or I heard it didn’t for someone else.” Lastly, Webster defines confusion as the quality or state of being perplexed, disconcerted or disoriented with regard to one's sense of time, place, or identity. So when those voices say “no” or “you can’t,” what they are really saying is that “I have no clue of who I really am and who I belong to.” So the next time you hear those voices, you take a dose of Mark 9:23, John 3:18, Romans 8:1 and Galatians 3:26 because you are a child of the most HIGH and only He can judge and design your destiny. There is only one voice you need to listen to and that is the VOICE OF TRUTH.

Youth Praise Time Moves On, God Does Not As I watch the hands on the clock inch slowly down, I hear tic-tic, hands now faced the ground. Listening to this steady rhythm o such a curious sound, this reminds me that time is slipping away now. With so many things to do in so little time, in the back of my head plays this ticking rhyme. Let me live my life how you want me to each day, on my knees this is the prayer I say. God who lives above the clouds, your teaching preached to many crowds. When I pray I know you hear me, for you are my neighbor when no one's near me. As time moves on, I have no fear because I know you’re here to stay, I know you are real no matter what people may say. When I feel down Lord you help me stand strong, tic-tic no longer a scary song. If we live according to your will, our days will be long, everyday the seconds belong to you, every minute your unconditional love is there to guide me through. Other kids are already dead and gone, same age as me, I love you with all my heart, and thanks for taking care of me.

WONDERFULLY MADE Make It Happen You made a New Year’s resolution to do better with your eating habits for 2011 right? You said you would go walking or do some other form of exercise right? So why did you quit? Even better, why haven’t you started? You’ve paid for the gym membership. Are you using it? The first days of your membership you were in there religiously and then you didn’t see the results you wanted fast enough. Let me let you in on a little secret. Even though the Diet Industry wants you to believe it, results are never fast; especially when it comes to weight loss. True and long lasting weight loss is a lifestyle change. This change doesn’t require you to give up everything at once, just make small changes gradually. You would be surprised to know that there are healthy alternatives to almost anything…and these days they taste just as good. To start, you should graduate from white products to foods of color, i.e. white rice to brown or wild, white bread to 100% whole wheat bread, and white potatoes to yams. Before I go any further, I see what you are trying to do – take the butter and sugar and step away from the yams!!! I hear people say every day, “I eat healthy, but I don’t know why I can’t lose this weight.” Really well let me try to assist you with this matter. You’ve tried the 100%

wheat toast, but you add butter and jelly to it. You’re cooking and eating more green vegetables, but you cook with butter, bacon or fatback. You do the oatmeal in the morning for breakfast, but you are adding sugar, honey and butter. Come in a little closer and let me tell you a little secret -- That Isn’t Eating Healthy!

overwhelmed to truly do God’s work. So the next time that doctor or health expert tells you to leave fried chicken alone, “Don’t say the devil is a liar, I’m going to pray over this food and the Lord will bless it.” Yes HE will bless any food you are about to receive but maybe, just maybe, that doctor was an angel in disguise giving you some Godly wisdom to survive. People say that “This food is to die for,” what they don’t realize is that maybe with some foods they are speaking prophetically. Just something to make you say “HHMM”.

No one said healthy living had to be boring. Find healthy foods you enjoy eating, and try them without the butter and sugar. Try experimenting with herbs and spices. Start slow and build up to where you want to be. You built those love handles over a period The time is right; the New Year has of time; it’s going to take some still just begun. Holy Trinity Outreach Ministry goals are to encourage the backsliders to renew their fellowship with Christ; lead the ministry by being consistent and dedicated to its purpose; diligently seeking the harvest that God has ordained to be saved and to adhere to Godly wisdom and discernment from the Pastor. Men still cry,

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? The Bible provides a clear answer. Here are the six scriptural steps which all must Travel to pass from death unto Life.

ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SIN - Romans 3:23. First, see yourself a sinner. Sin is tragic and vile. It blights, degrades And destroys. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life.” Cry out like the publican, “God be merciful to me a sinner.” REPENT - Acts 3:19. Second, you must repent. Be truly sorry for your sin. Like the prodigal son see the awfulness of it. The Bible declares, “Godly sorrow worketh repentance.” Jesus said, “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” CONFESS - 1 John 1:9. Third, confess your sins. Not to men, preachers or priests, but to God. “With the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” David said, “I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord ... Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.” FORSAKE - Isaiah 55:7. Fourth, be willing to forsake sin. “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he ... Will abundantly pardon.” Sorrow and fear for sin are not enough in themselves. One must be sorry enough about sin to want to be done with it once and for all! BELIEVE - Romans 10:9. Fifth. Believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Believe in the Substitutionary character of it; that He died for sin not His own, but that “the chastisement of our peace was upon Him.” Our sins nailed Him there, and “With His stripes we are healed.” “Believe On the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” ACCEPT - John 1:12. Christ must be received personally into the heart by faith, If the experience Of the New Birth is to be yours. “But as many as received him to them gave he power to become The sons of God.” Will you pray - Being convinced that I am a sinner, and that Christ alone can save me, I NOW accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and will by His help, confess Him before men. John 6:37 ... All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Christ must be received personally into the heart by faith, If the experience of the new Birth is to be yours. Rev. 3:20 ... Behold, I stand at the door and knock, If any man (this means you) hear my voice and open the door, I will come into him and will sup (abide) with him and he with Me. Luke 12:8 ... Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the son of man also confess before the angels of God.
